Reviews for Holmebridge House

Review 1:Nothing at all, perfect!

Review 2:Lovely, accommodating hosts. They were so helpful in giving us tips on what to do with our couple of days in Dorset. Great breakfast. Lovely setting with deer visible from room window. Room immaculate. Really can't fault the trip in any way. Fantastic!

Review 3:The owners Anita & Brian were lovely people, very friendly & helpful nothing was a problem . The breakfast had an excellent selection and beautifully cooked. The room was clean & comfortable and en suite facilities first class. All in all a highly recommended location.

Review 4:In the dark it was not easy to find the car park entrance but we got used to it

Review 5:It was convenient for where we wished to visit. We liked the vicinity of the open field at the back and the bird facilities visible from our window _ particularly we loved seeing a woodpecker feeding.

Review 6:Our only concern, noise we created when opening/closing wardrobes, using facilities. We are early risers - normally 5.00am and tried very hard not to make too much noise, disturbing other guests or our hosts. Would prefer earlier start for breakfast, 8.30 is almost lunch time for us.

Review 7:Anita & Brian extremely obliging. Heaps of local knowledge, gave us sound advice on restaurants, best times to visit local attractions, etc. Home very clean & comfy. Great breakfast.

Review 8:Having to go home!!

Review 9:The room was gorgeous. Lovely new shower room with an enourmous shower cubicle! Lovely view out the back window of deer, rabbits, birds and their chicken called Charlie. Hosts were very hospitable, accommodating and friendly. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Good location for exploring the surrounding area.

Review 10:Lovely comfortable bed complete with foam topper. Excellent breakfasts and a very warm welcome. Super view across the field to see deer roaming around. My wife's gluten free breakfast was available following a phone call prior to arriving.

Review 11:The Bathroom was very chilly and the toilet macerator was very noisy. Although the day time temperatures were warm, at night and early morning the bedroom was very cold.

Review 12:Location was good for visiting the Dorset coast. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very well furnished. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 13:Very friendly and welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a good stay. Will visit again and would not hesitate to recommend to others . Clean & comfortable room, Delicious breakfast !

Review 14:Nothing at all to dislike.

Review 15:Lovely welcome from hosts. Made too feel very comfortable and welcome. Lots of helpful advise on eating out, places of interest to visit.

Review 16:Nothing everything was just right

Review 17:The b&b and Anita was amazing also the other guest were very interesting it was so clean loved it the only thing was we could have stopped longer

Review 18:Wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Review 19:Very Friendly host (despite her partner having had a rush trip to A & E) Lovely room with a smashing view of open field/woodland, deer out in the field at times!

Review 20:Room small but lovely, immaculately clean, lovely bedding and comfy bed, ensuite, shower really good. Breakfast lovely, Anita an excellent friendly host .

Review 21:Nothing.

Review 22:Very friendly and helpful owners wth great advice about local attractions and eating out as well as directing us to some great spots not on the "tourist trail". Fantastic full cooked breakfast and the scrambled eggs were divine. Anita and Brian are lovely hosts.

Review 23:A member of our party had mobility problems due to a bad back sadly the host seemed quite unhappy that we were not out the room by 10.30am so she could clean, even though she was aware of the problem (we were only 40 minutes late). The bed in the front bedroom was quite squeaky even though it was only occupied by a single person. The Superior room has a nice very large shower however it was slippery and there was no hand rail. The King room at the front has a septic tank which was really noisy and really quite smelly when we arrived, but it did go.

Review 24:Host welcomed us with tea on the terrace overlooking a large green area with families of deer. Good location for Monkey World. Helpful hosts, kindly booked restaurants for us and gave helpful information about the area. The place is kept clean and tidy. Fresh water and milk given daily. Nice cottage garden with a friendly chicken :-). Views from Double room and Superior King has good views of the green open field at the back of the property.

Review 25:The two wonderful owners that made our stay one of the best that we have experienced in a B&B ! From the greeting through to the departure, so helpful. The breakfast was excellent too! The room had everything you needed. The establishment throughout was spotlessly clean, the garden a joy.

Review 26:The only thing against would be getting out of the car park onto the main road, extra care was needed

Review 27:The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. The room and bed very comfortable and spotlessly clean The breakfast v ery good, we had a choice from full english to salmon and scrambled eggs.

Review 28:Lovely upstairs room in charming house; fabulous bathroom and shower; tea and coffee making facilities in room. Beautiful to see wild deer grazing in the meadow outside our window in the morning. Great hosts; beautiful breakfast in dining room. Would definitely stay here again. A delightful part of England.

Review 29:Nothing

Review 30:Excellent location when visiting attractions in Dorset. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable we've slept in. The breakfasts were awsome and Brian has a great knowledge of places to go (especially pubs and places selling Dorset Cream Tea !). Overall we had a super 4 days at Holmebridge.

Review 31:The special touches: tea & bun on arrival, cold bottled water, milk in a small flask, kindness shown & most of all the beautiful deer just outside of our bedroom window.

Review 32:Anita and Brian were very welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. We spent two extremely relaxed nights at Holmebridge in one of the most comfortable beds ever!

Review 33:Warm welcome and exceptionally friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble; the breakfast was all homemade and delicious. Location: perfect for the coast and sights inland.

Review 34:From the minute we arrived Brian & Anita were superb hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, even helping with our bags when taking us to the room. Their knowledge of the local area is excellent especially the advice on where to eat and where not to. The room itself is lovely, very comfortable and the ensuite is amazing lots of space and a divine walk in shower. The view from the ensuite I can only describe as breath taking especially when the dear are in the field. The breakfast is probably one of the best we have had. All fresh produce with plenty of choice from, cereals to fruit and yoghurt and a choice of cooked items and home made bread for toast served with the best jam & marmalade we have ever tasted!! Thank you for a wonderful time

Review 35:Well. what can we say; lovely welcome from Brian and Anita, fantastic breakfast, made us feel really 'at home'. We enjoy nice soft furnishings at home, and boy, we had just the same, if not better, at Holmebridge House - well done Anita!

Review 36:Facing onto the busy road, as a light sleeper traffic noise woke me too early.

Review 37:Clean, comfortable and friendly. Lovely breakfasts with local produce and home-made bread.

Review 38:Nothing negative at all.

Review 39:Very friendly and informative hosts. Most comfortable bed. Good food. A herd of wild deer in the field behind the house. What more could you want.

Review 40:Noise from the road and noise from the pump drain system.

Review 41:B&B was recently refurbished, the cleanliness is at high standard. Owners are very friendly. Easy access to any tourist attractions.

Review 42:The accommodation was excellent and service Anita and Brain gave was first class. The sounding fields and view was a lovely way to relax after a long hard days work. Wifi was great. Lovely touch with the toasted tea cakes on arrival. Would visit again and recommend!

Review 43:Nothing!

Review 44:The hosts are absoloutly lovely, the house is beautiful, comfortable and warm with a stunning outlook on fields. It's very close to Wareham and Corfe and a wonderful base for exploring. The breakfast was lovely and the homemade jams and bread were a fabulous touch.. We will def return.

Review 45:Nothing, it was all perfect.

Review 46:Anita and Brian made us very welcome and we were relaxed throughout our while stay. The breakfast was the best we have had, we are all health conscious and they had no problems catering to our needs. A real home from home, thus will certainly be a regular venue for our trips to monkey world from now on.

Review 47:Poor light conditions from car park area to house through garden. Bit dangerous in the dark.

Review 48:Great central point to visit local attractions from. Friendly, informative home owners offering huge cooked breakfast. Large comfortable en suite bedroom.

Review 49:The toilet system was rather noisy, especially at night.

Review 50:Attention to detail, cleanliness, a warm welcome and delicious breakfast with homemade marmalade.

Review 51:The floor in the bathroom creaked loudly when walked on and an attachment to the toilet and waste water drainage system made a grinding noise when any water was used in the bathroom.

Review 52:The owners were very kind and helpful and the food was excellent. Room #2 was adequate in size, very well kept and had an attached modern bathroom. Its location near the Bovington Tank Museum made it very convenient when visiting the museum. The owners made us aware of many other interesting locations in the area that were well worth visiting (area has several ties to Lawrence of Arabia, T.E. Lawrence).

Review 53:That I couldn't stay longer!

Review 54:Lovely hosts, really friendly, polite and accommodating. Comfortable beds and so nice and peaceful and delicious breakfast!

Review 55:Great property and hosts alike. Very comfortable, warm and welcome stay. Location is ok but the busy road infront of the property is noticeable. I recommend this B&B but note no evening out is within walking distance.

Review 56:The owners are a lovely couple who make you feel like friends. The rooms are warm, comfortable and clean and the breakfast is wonderful. Very good value for money. We will planning another stay here.

Review 57:Exiting the car park onto the main road can be difficult especially when drivers are speeding in an aggressive and inconsiderate manner.

Review 58:We had a very comfortable room with a large bathroom with bath and separate shower. The breakfasts were of a high standard. The owners, Anita and Brian, are very pleasant and helpful.

Review 59:We booked the B and B because on the website it states 'children of all ages welcome'. However, when we rang a few days before to check if we needed to bring a cot for our 3 month old daughter, we were told that the B and B was adult guests only. The owner said that as we had already booked it would be ok on this occasion. When we arrived we were again told that children are not normally allowed to stay. We were made to feel as if this had been our mistake when in fact we had specifically booked this accommodation because the website states that children are welcome. Despite this the owners did seem to enjoy having our little one to stay and made a fuss of her while we were there.

Review 60:The room we stayed in was very spacious, particularly the bathroom. The B and B is in a good location close to the local town. The gardens of the B and B are lovely and we enjoyed sitting out with a glass of wine in the evenings. The owners were very hospitable, providing us with wine glasses! Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

Review 61:There was nothing we didn't like. Amazing stay.

Review 62:Property was as advertised and hosts very knowledgable on the history and able to point us in the right direction for our interests. We always came home very pleased with our day. Felt completely relaxed and after touring around Scotland and inner london prior to our return home this was definitely the place we were looking for to relax and unwind but also to sightsee at our leisure. Breakfast was freshly cooked and rooms cleaned daily. Excellent and will recommend to people without hesitation.

Review 63:Holmebridge House is a delightful B&B, rated 4* by the English Tourist Board. Spotlessly clean, homely and quiet despite a busy road. Only 3 guest rooms, and all guests are treated to warm, painstaking hospitality by Brian and Anita. The rooms are generously sized, with plenty of wardrobe space; the bed was very comfortable; and the ensuite shower room/WC was spacious. Perhaps a bigger shower cubicle would have been a bonus, but otherwise everything was in excellent order. The superb breakfast added to the overall very good value for money.

Review 64:Breakfast (cooked) could have been larger and beans would have made it much better. Water pressure is low, which made showering slightly irritating.

Review 65:Excellent service from the owners, and they would go above and beyond to cater for your needs. Bedrooms and ensuite was of good size with TV, dresser and wardrobes.

Review 66:Entrance to parking difficult to find in the dark. Generally more lighting car park to garden would be appreciated.

Review 67:Very clean, comfortable bed and room, large en suite bathroom. Owners friendly but allowed privacy. Fresh fruit and good non fatty English breakfast.

Review 68:Breakfast is served up until 8:30am - it would have been nice to have a tiny lie-in 'til at least 9:30am then breakfast to be served up until, say, 10am, but I'm guessing B&Bs have to operate like that.

Review 69:The breakfast was delicious. I especially loved the salmon and scrambled eggs (the salmon is local salmon rather than supermarket-bought). Also, they make their own jam and bread, which was a lovely touch. The bedroom was cosy and comfortable, and looked out onto beautiful countryside.

Review 70:The only negative was that the quilt was possibly suited to colder weather as it was quite heavy. But we got round that, we slept on top of it the first night. Sorted.

Review 71:The welcome from Anita and Brian was first rate as was the room. We were given a great choice of breakfasts, and waited on with a smile. I was pleasantly surprised on our second day to come back and find that everything was freshened up. The bed was made and the room had been cleaned spotlessly. Fantastic

Review 72:Nothing comes to mind!

Review 73:Good location for the Nature Reserves on Poole Harbour - plus Swanage, Corfe Castle, etc. Anita and Brian very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast good.

Review 74:Very kind, helpful and friendly couple for whom nothing was too much trouble.Lots of really useful tips on what to see. Even booked a restaurant for us. Breakfasts absolutely fantastic!

Review 75:Recommend getting bedroom at back of house for better view and less noise from road.

Review 76:Were made to feel very welcome, nice clean room ,great breakfast, lovely view from bathroom able to watch deer in back field.

Review 77:Poor mobile phone and I pad connection was a minor inconvenience.

Review 78:Large en suite. Comfortable, large double bed. Friendly welcome and help with luggage. Well cooked breakfast, lovely bread and home made preserves. View from rear windows. On main road but very quiet. Good touring centre.
