Reviews for Rhenia Hotel

Review 1:3 star not 4 - rooms were very basic, website photos deceptive. Cleanliness - drain in our bathroom flooded, problem not fixed but cleaner expected to mop it up daily?! Location- close to port but 15 mins walk along a main road with no pavement to the beach. Steep hill to return to the hotel Staff - lady on reception was neither welcoming nor helpful. Guy who worked there played power ballads on his saxophone in the afternoon and evening every day. Repertoire of about 10 songs on repeat some good, some not so good.

Review 2:pool and breakfast area were good but the saxophone practise was not

Review 3:Whilst there was nothing I didn't like about the hotel, the room itself could have done with a fresh coat of paint and the bathroom was functional. Also as the location is a 25 minute and fairly treacherous walk from Mykonos town, so you will be reliant on the bus/ferry for transport, which can be inconvenient.

Review 4:Great staff and really lovely communal areas. Breakfast, which was included, was good and room was also clean and tidy. Really easy to relax round the pool and only a short walk to a really nice beach.

Review 5:The owners are kind, nice and helpful. The place is beautiful with gorgeous sea view. Rooms are very comfortable and sparkling. The hotel grounds are lovely. I enjoyed my staying at Rhenia I felt so comfortable in the hotel that I did not want to go anywhere else.

Review 6:The photos don't show the reality, they're tricky. Swimming poolarea is too small. Only 2-3 people can use at the same time. Rooms aredecorated standartly and some furniture is broken and old. Bed isuncomfortable, after 3 nights I got lowback pain.Cleaning is eh, Ikilled 1 spider at the bathroom each day.Breakfast area smells bad, when I got sick and tried to open the door for 5 min. a staff came and closed. I explained and she said "air conditioning working, you cant open the door". Btw air conditionings doesn't work effectively, they only cool themselves. The location is bad. You have to walk up 6-7 min. a rapid slope to reach the hotel. After a restful beach day, you get tired to reach your room. And if it's windy there's strange noise from the new port like horror film. WIFI doesn't work anywhere. After all these negative things we questionize the 4 star... How and why ? Additionally prices are too high for these standarts.

Review 7:The staff are so cute and helpful. First day we arrive they explain usabout the beaches and the transportation in detail. They always smile.

Review 8:Shower was partly open and it was mostly permanently wet in the bathroom if to use it after the cleaning. It was difficult to get to and to find the hotel on the first day of arrival since there were no signs around and nobody who could actually help us out with finding a way to there.

Review 9:The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and always there is you need smth or have some questions. They provide you with all the information you need. The location is very good considering the walking distance to the port and very easy access to the old town. Rooms are big and very nice, and the pool was always clean. Amazing view :)

Review 10:a bit far from the downtown, but that is already expected

Review 11:staff breakfast the room is even better than what is shown on the pictures! very spacious and the balcony view is superb!

Review 12:We need to cover two small windows with towels because they didn't had any curtain or similar. They got us the first night a two small bed room but we booked 1 king size bed but the second day they moved us to the right room. The furniture is a little old need some make over in the room. Very pricey for the quality of the hotel.

Review 13:Friendly staff. Good view to the marine and 2 minuts by car close to the center of Mykonos. Breakfast is acceptable. You can walk from the new port to the hotel.

Review 14:The wifi in the room sometimes was weak.

Review 15:Room is spacious, comfortable bed and the view is amazing. The location is good and the hotel is quiet. The girl on the reception is very helpful.

Review 16:We came with a baby, and let the hotel know that in advace. There was no baby bed ready for us when we came, they brought it in only much latter I'm sorry to say that it was a very old camping bed, it's bottom was broken, some of the parts that was supposed to hold the folding aspects were broken as well. It was terrible letting our baby sleep on it. There were no kattel in the room what I would expect for the assumed 4 stars and price. all in all we felt it was much to expensive for the faccilities it offered I would not recommend it for families with babies and toddlers.

Review 17:The staff was kind and helpful. the location is right by the New port, thouhg take into account you will have to climb a steep road for it

Review 18:Bed was a little uncomfortable and it was season of the mosquitoes.

Review 19:The staff was so friendly. Even though the hotel was right next to the port they still came to pick us up from the boat.

Review 20:Hard to sleep because of barking dogs all nights.

Review 21:Location was great, Easy to get in to town With both boat and bus. Beautiful view and the owners where fantastic! But 4 star?

Review 22:Nothing. The hotel is more than excellent

Review 23:Each detail we liked. The staff are warm, hosting us in very classy way. We felt home and thanks to this hotel our stay was the best vacation ever. Very clean. Just wonderful and best choice

Review 24:Wi fi reception

Review 25:The Family that owns the hotel the staff great people! The position outside the centre quiet and relaxing. The city is at not even 5 mind drive

Review 26:The hotel is great is you want a quiet vacation but does require two buses, or a water taxi, walk, then bus, to get to the beaches and the town. If you are there to party or be close to the action this is not the hotel for you.

Review 27:Amazingly beautiful property, very quiet and private with the nicest family staff. Some of the best views you could ask for. The customer service was everything you could want on vacation.

Review 28:My only disappointment was that the bed was not great. But it didn't effect my stay.

Review 29:We LOVED this hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great! I would definitely go back!!!

Review 30:The bathroom is quite old and needs restoration.

Review 31:The hotel is in a key position near to the town and to the port. The room is spacious enough and shinny all day. The balcony has a great view to the hole town of Mykonos and to the bay.

Review 32:Rooms were average, but clean.

Review 33:The views and the common areas were incredible. The staff was very friendly and made you feel like you were a part of their family.

Review 34:WiFi was not working at all, room was cold (it was end of September and stormy weather). It's a bit of a walk to the town and the bus runs only once in an hour. Luckily, the sea bus stop is also close and can be used as well (good value for the money EUR 2).

Review 35:Very beautiful sea view, big balcony, good breakfast, friendly service, spacious room, close to the New Port. I believe Rhenia would be better in summertime than in autumn (end of September)

Review 36:To access the hotel you have to walk up a steep tarmac road. There are also many steps in the garden to access some of the bedrooms. It would not suit anyone with walking difficulties.

Review 37:Lovely, individual hotel with fantastic views. Simple breakfast with all dishes regularly replenished. Staff always obliging. Complementary transfers from airport. Well situated for public transport. Would stay there again.

Review 38:I thought it was near the old port but it wasn't. My mistake. Should've checked.

Review 39:Really lovely in itself. The area around pool gorgeous tho the pool much smaller that it looked in pictures. I was only there a night on the way to Naxos so couldn't really enjoy the pool as arrived after sunset. There was above beach nearby about a 10 min walk.

Review 40:We enjoyed our stay but just a couple of improvements we thought would really have enhanced our time. Better wi-fi connection. TV that worked. More varied breakfast. We don't eat pork and found it a bit limiting for us. Better quality pillows.

Review 41:A very nice family run place to stay. Ideal location close to the New Port. Friendly welcome and the staff and owners obviously care very much. If I'm back in Mykonos I will be staying here again.

Review 42:difficult to find the place, no sign in the street and had to ask where it is at the restaurant nearby small beds spacy without any sofas or chairs which makes you confortable

Review 43:good ocean view private bungalow

Review 44:Wifi was horrible! breakfast was so-so( At the entrance of the hotel there is a tavern in the horrible service and food is not very! I do not advise to go there!

Review 45:location of hotel is good! the staff is friendly(not all:)

Review 46:The hill up from the main road didnt bother us as good to burn off the calories but maybe difficult for some. Great beach at Stefanos some 15 mins walk but along a main road with no pavement. Maybe car hire good idea if staying a while

Review 47:Really nice people, not obtrusive, just friendly, relaxed and helpful. Soon felt at home.Good value with inclusive transfers. Great views. Very handy for new port for boats to other islands

Review 48:The many stairs mostly without handrails for support. The wi fi was totally useless in the room.

Review 49:The staff were very helpful and friendly. Location reasonable.

Review 50:internet connection and breakfast is very poor. The bed was not comfortable.TV channels were very bad.For the amount of money paid it was very disappointing.

Review 51:room cleaning was done every day.

Review 52:Transportation is the only downside - though that is NOT Rhenia's fault. There are only 33 taxis on the who island of Mykonos, so they are pretty hard to come by, and the hotel staff warned us it could take up to 15-30 min. If there for a while, renting a car is a good option. And if not, there are bus shuttles that go every 15(?) minutes i believe, and the bus stop is right down the street. :)

Review 53:We were a group of 3 girls, who decided to go to Greece on a whim. We found Rhenia through booking.com, and based on the reviews the biggest issue was the uphill location. Honestly that is, in fact, probably the biggest 'downside' we encountered. The hotel is family owned, and the owners are truly so welcoming and friendly! The rooms are a bit small, but standard comfort, very clean, with AC and WIFI. They are cleaned daily, and there's an (empty) mini fridge you can fill with provisions. There is a pool, a good breakfast and nice patio with alcoves and a bar - the bar tender is also really nice! They don't offer food after breakfast but if you get hungry and dont feel like going too far, they have various restaurants you can order from, or you can walk right down the hill where you can find a pizzeria, and a regular restaurant To include personal experiences that illustrate how helpful the staff was: my flight was landing at 10 pm and they voluntarily brought my travel buddy to pick me up - so i wouldn't have to go through the hassle of taxis (see 'what downsides section). Also, when i fell ill for the first few days of my stay, they voluntarily brought me to their family doctor, and to the pharmacy - twice! All in all: we were really extremely satisfied. As group and individually, we think Rhenia was a great find! Clean, calm, super helpful and welcoming people, at a very reasonable price! Definitely recommend!!

Review 54:Ferry horns! They weren't often though so it was fine. Pool towels were a bit scratchy. The bath towels were soft though.

Review 55:Views were pretty. Loved the day-bed under the tree. Staff were nice, especially George who was very friendly and helpful.

Review 56:Only downside was weak wifi, which at times didn't work at all.

Review 57:Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Pool was lovely and room very clean and comfortable.

Review 58:Cannot express how much of a wonderful experience I had here with my two friends. The staff were especially amazing and made it feel like home. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!!

Review 59:Very overpriced for what you got.... but maybe that's Mykonos. The bungalow we had was very odd - one of the beds was pushed up against the wardrobe whose doors wouldn't close, and there were no coat hangers, so you couldn't use it. No bedside lamps. The bungalow had a room with a small television and a refrigerator nothing else. We didn't want to watch TV but it was an empty cement room. We had to put our luggage on the cement floor. The internet hardly worked. The Contiki tour groups stayed here, so it's more a place for younger, partying travellers. For the amount of money we paid it was very disappointing!!!

Review 60:Great staff - very helpful advice/car hire/transfer to ferries. Reception and pool area are stylish. Great breakfast.

Review 61:Excellent service from the personnel, good location because it was 5 minutes by car from the Centre of Mykonos and also direct access to the ring road. Nice view and pool for chilling before you go out. If you are a group of friends this is your place

Review 62:The view from the room looking over the port was breath taking , breakfast was superb and staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel was situated outside the main village but this was not a problem as there are different and inexpensive options to get to the village. Would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.

Review 63:The only downside is a recent contract the hotel had signed with an Australian 'young persons excursion' as this has taken the family vibe away from such a peaceful place

Review 64:The family feel to the hotel is lovely, as well as the view over the town of Mykonos. Breakfast is a real winner as well as the lovely pool area. All of the staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to help you out. I cannot recommend this hotel enough

Review 65:Slawness of internet in the room.

Review 66:Magnificent view.

Review 67:Location bit out of the way but we knew this before booking.

Review 68:Amazing helpful staff and immaculate rooms. Stunning views.

Review 69:Stuff is really friendly

Review 71:The pool. the view. the lobby.

Nice comfortable beds.Staff is great and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and the coffee is very nice. Good value for money! Shuttle service to the airport.

Review 88:Bit of a trek up the hill from the road but manageable and helped work off some of the lovely food we ate.

Review 89:Beautiful laid back location with wonderful panoramic views over the new harbour to Mykonos town and surrounding area from our room. Very helpful staff ensure that everything you want or need is provided.

Review 90:If you have some problems with walking you will not like the steep way to the hotel.

Review 91:Perfect location if you want to keep a little distance to the (noisy) town of Mykonos. Bus and Seabus to town very close to the hotel. Fantastic view and very kind staff.

Review 92:Nothing. This place is great.

Review 98:this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The family that own it are incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The location is perfect for access to the port, the airport and the town. The facilities at the hotel were first class, the accommodation was comfortable and clean, the pool was small but lovely and the breakfast delicious. The hotel design was outstanding, we extended our stay as we enjoyed it so much. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area and hope to visit again soon.
