Reviews for Worgret Manor
Review 1:Stayed here for one night and was really happy with the great service from Cathy and husband, the spacious room, and the good amenities. We'll certainly be staying here again next time we're down to visit.
Review 2:There was nothing not to like and we would stay here again with pleasure .
Review 3:Our hosts were really welcoming and friendly and genuinely interested in giving us a pleasant stay. The room was elegant and spacious with plenty of surfaces and storage for our things. It was well carpeted and cosy. Our bed was large and comfortable.
Review 4:could do with 2 chairs in double-bedroom, + kleenex, + bar soap
Review 5:good large room pleasant lounge with newspapers friendly staff good breakfast plenty of parking
Review 6:No complaints!
Review 7:A charming georgian manor house with many period features and beautifully furnished and decorated rooms. Friendly and obliging owners, who arranged an early breakfast for us.
Review 8:Lovely b&b in a great location with friendly welcoming staff. All guest areas were clean and bright. The breakfast was a perfect way to start each day.
Review 9:Would have preferred to have been closer to Wareham and preferably more people staying, found it a little to quiet and lacking atmosphere, although the manageress was very friendly and pleasant at all times.
Review 10:The Managers staff very very good, friendly, helpful
Review 11:Stayed for bank holiday weekend. Good location, short drive into Wareham and easy to get to other key places. Good size bedroom - better size than some hotels. People running the B&B are lovely and very welcoming.
Review 12:Wareham in general is a sparse location, everything requires a cab/car. I would recommend having this sorted from before
Review 13:The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our stay
Review 14:Poor breakfast. No variety. Same every day. Limited quantity. Manager requested order but did not provide as asked for.
Review 15:Nice room. Nice house. Pleasant managers.
Review 16:Ray and Kathy were so friendly, and very helpful as well - they could not have done more for us ! Excellent location for access to Dorset's beautiful countryside and coast.
Review 17:The mixer on the showers not working - boiling hot or too cold! Hopefully garden of this size will be part of ongoing development? Could be a considerable asset.
Review 18:Friendly warm welcome Very comfortable room - well decorated.
Review 19:Would definitely stay their again great hospitality
Review 20:Staff, ambience, decor, breakfast, size & comfort of room

Review 22:Very comfortable - very good staff
Review 23:Room very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly
Review 24:The staff, facilities and food were first class.
Review 25:Friendly and helpful staff good service top quality food.

Review 34:Personal opinion but we found the bed a bit hard.
Review 35:The room we stayed in was lovely.
Review 36:Very friendly, lovely & clean room, Fab Four poster bed, great breakfast. Would stay again.
Review 37:great location, friendly staff, tasty breakfast and recently renovated rooms.
Review 38:Beautiful setting and clean quiet accommodation, definitely return, welcoming and exquisite.
Review 39:Location brilliant. Room beautiful. Hosts very friendly. Breakfast lovely . Tea making facilities in the room brilliant . No complaints
Review 40:Everything else. When we arrived the building was in darkness with one end scaffolded, gardens overgrown, only one other car in the car park - we thought the place was closed - which it should have been! It appeared that it was undergoing renovation but still had a long way to go and should not have been trading under it's present website as it bore little resemblance to it's present state. Our bathroom wasn't very clean. The breakfast was 'help yourself', only the toast was 'cooked'. Extrremely disappointing and the worst £95 we've ever had. Booking.com should take it off their books immediately.
Review 41:Friendly guy. The room itself was well presented and the bed was comfortable
Review 42:Manor has obviously been completely refurbished, but the bath hot water supply needs sorting out as the water ran a yellow muddy colour with dirt in it for 3 minutes until it became usable. this is not a complaint just an observation, costly to owners in water & the enviroment. typical of older English properties. needs completely replumbing, new pipes & water tanks a costly exercise!
Review 43:only place we were able to find when booked & paid for accom for two nights at East Burton declined to honour contract as they had booked a wedding party!! I spent 4 hours driving around the area to find a B&B all fully booked? My daughter spent a long time on phone & on line and finally found Worgret Manor at 10 30 Pm person on duty agreed to stay up until I arrived about 11Pm. Highly appreciated.
Review 44:It would have been been nice to have had some, hot food; eggs etc for breakfast, otherwise all was very nice.
Review 45:The hotel had the comfort of a small english country house; very pleasant.
Review 46:I would have liked a choice at breakfast between Continental and English styles. Only Continental was available and when I asked for English the lady serving me looked quite shocked and insulted. The power of the water coming out of the shower was barely perceptible - to call it a trickle would be exaggerating. Also it took ages for the hot water to come through - the wastage of water goes against the establishment's stated conservation aims. For an AA 4 Star B&B I was a little disappointed.
Review 47:It was quiet and comfortable.
Review 48:Entrance (through farm machinery). Also for the price, they should definitely offer a cooked breakfast, not continental breakfast only.
Review 49:The welcome, friendliness and general ambience of the hotel. Common areas excellent, particularly breakfast room. Accommodation first class.
Review 50:Traffic noise from road, but not too much of a problem
Review 51:very comfortable, lovely dual aspect room Excellent facilities Lovely dining room very helpful and friendly staff
Review 52:Nothing I enjoyed my stay.
Review 53:Kind friendly staff. Pleasant surroundings. Clean, recently redecorated. Very substantial continental breakfast. Value for money.
Review 54:Continental breakfast was adequate but would have been better without the longlife packaged croissants and other pastries. Also difficult to find entrance as sign completely covered by branches of large tree.
Review 55:There was a guest lounge - not often found in B & Bs.
Review 56:Breakfast poor. Little choice, meagre and no fresh bread, only toast with mediocre spreads. least satisfacxtory we have ever encountered, even at much cheaper B.&B.'s
Review 57:Pleadsant decor and comfortable room. Also, friendly, helpful receptionist
Review 58:Understand hotel up for sale but Out side patio area needed weeding andsmartening up especially as this is the main entrance to hotelreception. Otherwise grounds well kept.
Review 59:Light and clean and comfortable
Review 60:Nothing really - but we overshot when we first arrived and ended up in the next door farmyard! Signage could be clearer to indicate to first time visitors where the Worgret Manor car park is.
Review 61:Staff very welcoming and accommodating to our needs (we had my elderly mother with us and were given a room on the ground floor which saved her having to climb stairs. We much appreciated this consideration. Everything very clean and nice dining room.
Review 62:No cooked breakfast. Probably due to the fact that the owner is currently got the hotel up for sale. For a Four Star hotel I would have expected more items in the room, like a box of tissues, replacements of biscuits with the tea&coffee. I have stayed in other Four Star hotels for a cheaper rate with much better facilities. I won't be rushing back to this hotel.
Review 63:The location was good.
Review 64:Rather variable temp in shower at morning peak time.
Review 65:Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, excellent continental breakfast, location near Purbeck hills.
Review 66:The place has a slight air of neglect lots of weeds in the patio area. There is a bar but as it was shut and all the lights out you didn'tfeel comfortable asking for a drink. The shower on the first day wasfine but as there were more guests on the second day I had to endure acold shower.
Review 67:The room was nice and the staff friendly. Breakfast was fine if you onlywant continental.
Review 68:Location, ease of parking & access to the Isle of Purbeck, environment, staff very friendly & efficient. Excellent all-round B & B & would recommend to anybody visiting Wareham.
Review 69:Light did not work over washbasin Shower head delivery 'deluged' rather than 'showered'. Breakfast choice ok though croissants seemed a bit stale all in all slightly expensive for the overall standard offered
Review 70:Suited me for one night only
Review 71:Nothing
Review 72:Very friendly, helpful & professional staff. Room (4 poster) very clean, large & a pleasant surprise to the incredibly small rooms you sometimes get! Excellent continental breakfast.
Review 73:no cooked meals, in particular no hot breakfast choices.
Review 74:the staff were over and above friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. the two night stay was made more pleasurable by their customer service. the hotel seems to be running down as it is for sale, hence no cooked meals, which was a bit disappointing for breakfast, but what was on offer was satisfactory. it would be a shame to see this beautiful old house go for redevelopment and not continue as a countryside hotel.
Review 75:Whole place had a slightly run down look, and appears to be run on a "shoestring" They still display the AA 4* signs You only find out having booked that they only do B&B, and whilst you can get a drink, the bar has to be open specially. (this is however done willingly)
Review 76:Our reception was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very adequate
Review 77:The staff were very accommodating. We also liked the historic building. The hotel is relatively close to other nice towns like Swanage and other attractions like Doordle Door
Review 78:Nothing really!
Review 79:Great location, close to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door etc. Nice, bright and spacious room. Huge ensuite bathroom! Just about 1 mile from the Wareham High Street where there is a variety of pubs/restaurants to enjoy.
Review 80:The fact that we had to ring mob no to be let in at 9.30 pm as reception not manned after that time
Review 81:Friendly helpful manager. Homely touches. Excellent healthy breakfast.
Review 82:No cooked breakfast Buffet breakfast poor standard Generally cold throughout the hotel Miserable bar area, which had to be opened for us, didn't serve any snacks of any type Had to ring the bell twice at reception for attention.
Review 83:There is absolutely nothing to dislike about Worgret Manor, it is so lovely, clean, bright and Ray made it extra special. Room 15-is lovely. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. My wife would have loved it.
Review 84:Neglected grounds and exterior . Dated decor, uncomfortable bed ,ill fitting sash windows which made a constant banging all through the night . One of the rooms was not ready on arrival even though it was booked in advance . Very overpriced .
Review 85:Friendly receptionist
Review 86:Continental breakfast only, and this was very basic in quality! An allowance off the bill was made in view of this difference to the booking form. Bathroom door opening very stiff.
Review 87:No evening meal but it was out of season!
Review 88:The staff were lovely- the venue clean and tastefully furnished- the rooms comfy- and the breakfast service good
Review 89:The breakfast was advertised on my booking cogitation as "fullEnglish" but we were only provided with cereals and a few pastries. For the money we paid, we did expect a better meal.
Review 90:The room was very clean and comfortable. We weren't disturbed atall.
Review 91:Lady at reception very friendly, very helpful. She arranged early breakfast at 6.30 rather than usual 7.30 to allow cyclists to attend event at Wareham at 7.45. She was up early to prepare breakfast for us. it allowed us to have some sustenance before our 200Km event. It was very much appreciated. She also allowed us to keep our bikes in the lock up garage.Thank you
Review 92:Just wish there was some hot food at breakfast. For some, the fact thatthere was no elevator may bother you but not us. Oh and being 6' and6'5 wasn't so good sometimes as there were a few low ceilings. Also, no mini bar fridge in the room (we liked to put our own stuff inthere to keep cold) but the staff did offer us to use their fridge.
Review 93:The staff! The entire team was super friendly, helpful, and keptinsisting and providing more help. The breakfast was good, just wishthere was some hot food. Location was great, a 15 minute walk intoWareham. Probably best to rent a car if you'd like to see a lotaround as cab ride could average 10-15 Pounds.
Review 94:The room was very cold & didn't really warm up after 3 days. Toilet seat was broken. Breakfast was all right but for the price could have been better.
Review 95:The breakfast was very poor, hard croissant, insipid toast etc etc
Review 96:Wifi only worked in reception
Review 97:Well presented rooms, friendly staff.
Review 98:The lock on the ladies toilet door jammed with me inside! Not really the fault of the hotel, but not a nice experience.
Review 99:Nicely decorated bedrooms
Review 100:Smelly cows & flys. Lack of cooked breakfast Noise from heavy footsteps upstairs.
Review 101:Clean & welcoming, nice staff
Review 102:Everything
Review 103:There was only continental breakfast. There was only one chair in the room which was uncomfortable
Review 104:The farm yard smell.
Review 105:We really enjoyed the breakfast choices suited us. The room was large, comfortable and clean.
Review 106:The peace and quiet of the location being able to relax and the luxurious rooms ,the staff were very helpful and friendly too.
Review 107:The breakfast was appalling No-one asked us if we had had a good stay ~ no-one cared The place was neglected
Review 108:The room was clean
Review 109:The breakfast was okay, fairly basic. The offer of a boiled egg might have been nice.
Review 110:Too close to farmyard smells
Review 111:Comfortable, pleasant staff
Review 112:No restaurant and bar in decline due to pending sale of the hotel
Review 113:Quick check in. comfortable room
Review 114:Lack of restaurant facilities and cooked breakfast.
Review 115:Friendly staff and clean rooms.
Review 116:Pity they didn't do dinner!
Review 117:Setting. Lovely breakfast. Spacious room
Review 118:No cooked breakfast available
