Reviews for Langlands Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:Parking was interesting right along the busy road in front of the B&B.
Review 2:Donna, our lovely host, did what she could to enhance our stay.. The breakfast was amazing. The walking trails along the river right across the road were lovely.
Review 3:Only one night! ;-)
Review 4:Lovely house where the welcome was great, Great size room. Breakfast was spot on. Parking is on street so you need to find a space but it is free and pretty safe.
Review 5:The property lies at a busy road and traffic can be heard at night. Parking is available, but only at the roadside. The sofa in our room was very low and a bit tired. Smoke from someone smoking behind the property can enter the rooms.
Review 6:The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of info material about the region is available and the room had a desk and seating area. At breakfast, a large choice of continental and cooked options were available and the coffee was very good.
Review 7:I didn't find the bed very comfy at all but that could just be me.
Review 8:The landlady was extremely cheery and helpful. The breakfast was excellent - I didn't have to buy lunch!
Review 9:Nothing - would recommend to anyone visiting the area
Review 10:Clean, well presented, spacious accommodation for the price. Polite, helpful and courteous staff. The breakfast was fantastic - good choice, well presented and very tasty.
Review 11:Lovely rooms, staff were very helpful and polite, breakfast was delicious. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Review 12:Nothing bad at all. Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Review 13:From the minute we arrived, Donna was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, good choice of food, including fruit and cereals etc. Lovely full cooked breakfast.
Review 14:Location was great just 5 mins into town, parking free, very pleasant owners. Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and use of fridge for our wine was very handy
Review 15:The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight, a full early breakfast was provided which was appreciated
Review 16:The selection at breakfast was brilliant..on all my travels [which have been many] I have never seen such a variety. Donna allows the use of a fridge, microwave & toaster which is super if you fancy a spot of supper. My room was clean & very pleasant with an extremely comfortable bed. A short walk to the town centre with a fab selection of cafes, restaurants etc. The library is a 5 minute walk if you want the use of a computer & you will be issued a temporary code whilst on holiday. Donna is so thoughtful, caring & kind. She aims to please & succeeds 100%. It was a pleasure to have met her & I would never consider lodging anywhere else!!
Review 17:The WiFi in room was a little variable but the service in the common areas was excellent.
Review 18:Location is excellent within walking distance of the town centre. The room was large and warm, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast provided a big choice and the meals were as hearty as you wanted them to be.
Review 19:Friendliness of the owner, location and view from the window. Whilst there, a minor problem occurred with the lights in the bathroom. These were fixed as soon as practical and without hassle. Despite the lack of hassle the owner still insisted in providing us some form of recompense.
Review 20:The only downside which was outwith the control of the owners was the cock crowing in the next garden.
Review 21:Friendly welcome, staff couldn't do enough to make the stay enjoyable, great breakfast and comfortable room. Excellent value for money and close to town centre.
Review 22:Nothing here
Review 23:Spacious comfortable room in a lovely home. Breakfast offers so much choice & is very tasty. Ability to bring in food to heat up in evening. Cheery homely staff. Perfect central location where car can be left behind.
Review 24:Shower not very powerful. I also got completely lost trying to find my way back from town in the evening - but this is my fault rather then Langland's.
Review 25:Very friendly and welcoming. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. An excellent night's sleep.
Review 26:Nothing was bad.
Review 27:Excellent friendly service, clean, flexible and lovely food. Near to all amenities. Parking right outside the house. Donna gave local knowledge of where to dine for evening meal .
Review 28:This is our second stay in Donna's lovely 1860's home. Last April we stayed in the beautiful and spacious front room overlooking the River Nith. This year our daughter, her husband, and teen-aged daughter enjoyed that room while we were comfortable in a nice double room. The house was cozy and warm. It's a great location for a fun walk alongside the river & an easy stroll to restaurants for dinner. We love staying with Donna. She's an attentive and gracious hostess.
Review 29:We were only staying for one night but had a very good experience. We were able to check in early which was great. The room had everything we needed and was clean. The breakfast in the morning was superb, with plenty of choices available. Most of all the landlady and her partner were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 30:Everthing was excellent. Would highly recommend Langlands Bed & Breakfast to anyone. The full Scottish breakfast with the icing on the cake. Best B&B I have came across to date. 5 Stars
Review 31:Pillows were uncomfortable - too firm for me - woke up with a bit of a sore neck, but I'm sure others would be ok with them.
Review 32:Very accomodating for early breakfast with lots of choice. Very friendly. Easy parking.
Review 33:Never like packing up and going home when we've had such a good time.
Review 34:We were made very welcome from the start. Donna made a fuss of our Little Girl who felt at home immediately. We were given tips as to where to eat, directions and pointers as to things to do with a 'little one' in the area. Our room was clean, large and comfortable. Tea, Coffee, Shampoos etc - all complimentary. Breakfast - Freshly cooked, plentiful and tasty. Location is also ideal - 5 minute walk to the Town Centre. No worries with the parking either - spaces on the road at the front of the property. Lovely place with a warm welcome.
Review 35:the property from the outside is not the most appealing. the shabby front door opened to a musty smell. the room was located on the first floor was a very poor imitation of a premier Inn room. the en-suite was a box in the corner. the decor and shower room facilities were very dated and really need to be renovated. the shower was very slow and hard to use. felt like a hostel rather than a B&B. non of the furniture matched or made sense. breakfast was served in a quite nice room and was ok but the meat products were very over cooked. and the black pudding was cremated.
Review 36:The lady who runs the place was very pleasant. The property is close to the town and the river. The room was very large and spacious with a good view of the river.
Review 37:Wifi was hit and miss. Road outside was busy until quite late but balanced against the location and convenience not unexpected.
Review 38:Extra helpfulness, understanding and flexibility. Biker friendly.
Review 39:This is petty, but the exterior wasn't very pretty.
Review 40:The proprietor, Donna, was very friendly and conscientious. There was a problem in one of the bathrooms, and she got a plumber there immediately. Hot breakfast is made to order and ready when you sit down! She asks guests to fill out an order form the evening before. Fresh fruit in a basket is available. Langland is within walking distance of Dumfries town center. It is across from a golf course. We liked the Dumfries Galloway area, but the driving made us nuts as we tried to see the countryside and surroundings.
Review 41:The shower whilst clean lacked pressure. The property is on a busy road so quite noisy but that's the trade off for being so close to the centre
Review 42:It was obvious from the moment we walked that the owner really cares about the property. It was extremely clean and recently decorated. Breakfast was very good. We felt very welcome here
Review 43:The home was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The room spacious and comfortable as well as the ensuite. Walking distance to city centre and the Globe Inn. The city centre seem to close at 6pm. It is a short drive to Caerlaverock Castle. Our stay was only 2 days long. I'm sure we would have discovered a lot more.
Review 44:Nothing. All was great.
Review 45:The couple who own the b&b are lovely and couldn't stop offering to help or do more. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location is great as only a short walk to town but away from noise.
Review 46:surprisingly puny washbasin compared to the spaciousness of the rest of the accomm.
Review 47:caring hostess who took pride in the quality of service she provided; beautifully decorated room, delicious b'fast
Review 48:We had a lovely albeit short stay at Langlands b&b. Donna couldn't have done anymore got us. We arrived on the Friday night for a one night stay and we had to be away early on the Saturday morning so Donna thought nothing of getting up early to make our breakfast even though it want due to start! We really enjoyed our stay and would be back again when in Dumfries! Would definitely recommend!
Review 49:Fantastic location, we were able to walk to the town centre in about 5 minutes! Very friendly staff & we were also able to use a large fridge in the dining room which was a great help to us. Would definitely stay again.
Review 50:Donna is the perfect host, always happy to help. The rooms were very comfortable and the location was excellent, with just a few minutes walk into the city. We would thoroughly recommend Lakelands to anyone visiting Dumfries, and we will definitely be back.
Review 51:Excellent location , minutes from town centre , but still very quite at night . Staff were brilliant and helpful and breakfast was fantastic, will be sure to use this b and b again.

Review 98:Great breakfast and friendly, helpful hosts.
Review 99:I appreciated the fact that the staff, knowing that I was there under difficult circumstances, went out of their way to be helpfull and the breakfasts were excellent. James Lackie. Toronto Canada.
Review 100:Donna was an excellent hostess. It was a great location. We enjoyed our stay in dumfries. We would stay at Langlands again. Our visit was too short.
Review 101:Wonderful location in a fine neighborhood near the town center. Housed in historic building which the owner had renovated and decorated grandly herself. Our room was spacious and beautiful and overlooked the River Nith. Breakfast was sumptious and wonderful. The owner Donna welcomed us warmly and made us feel so comfortable. Lovely, luxurious property at a great rate.
Review 102:Only that we had no wifi available that weekend, but it was not the fault of the owner, it seems there was no connection.
Review 103:Went out of their way to be helpful. More than I expected in the room - big pot of shampoo and even some chocolates.Oh, and bottles of water.
Review 104:Owners were absent when we came so after 20h of travelling we need to go to town for a walk or wait in the car. Unfortunately I paid twice. Once by cash during the stay and after I came back hotel took a cash once again from pre-booking my credit card :( I will receive almost all the money back but it is a really problem when you don't live in Scotland.
Review 105:Very good breakfast. It was close to the center of Dumfries.
Review 106:There was nothing that I disliked.
Review 107:The friendliness of the Staff was superb. Being disabled, I was offered as much help as I needed and more. I would certainly stay at the Langlands again and would highly recommended it for a comfortable overnight stay.
Review 108:breakfast was well presented ample amounts served on time but it was mostly lower end value food which was tasteless we stayed 2 nights had we stayed longer we would have found it rather a chore to eat but we do appreciate that value for money has to be found somewhere ?
Review 109:large clean room comfortable beds good value for money helpful friendly proprietor would definatly stay at langlands again also whithin easy walk to town centre very happy with our stay
