Review 5:The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely building. Ease of parking. Easy walk to town centre. Although the bed was only a double it was very comfortable.

Review 6:Nothing wrong at all.

Review 7:Owner Terry is an enthusiastic host who can't do enough to make for a happy stay. The house is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is above average.. What more do you need?

Review 8:Nothing, could find no fault with our accomodation.

Review 9:a fabulous hotel, hosts Terry & Lynne very helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Room was spotless and very comfortable king size bed, breakfasts were superb with plenty of choice. Had a great 3 day break in Dumfries with hotel making it even more pleasureable.

Review 10:Nothing not to like, although a small cake of soap in the bathroom, rather than liquid soap, would have suited my personal preferences better.

Review 11:The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable, and all the facilities (eg WiFi) worked well. The breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty.

Review 12:Very warm welcome and hospitality. Outstanding service in general. Manager with passion for his profession. Last but not least a lovely cat called Mietzy. Missing Mietzy! We would be very pleased to come back to this wonderful place.

Review 13:I couldn't log on to the Wi-Fi, but as I was only staying for one night I ignored the problem. Noisy seagulls, but it might have helped if I had closed the window.

Review 14:Easy parking. Large room.

Review 15:What B&B's should all be like, welcoming owners, nothing to much trouble, even gave us a welcoming bottle of wine in sympathy with my wife's broken ankle which caused us to cancel last year at the last minute, and they did not charge us the cancellation fee for less than 24 hours notice.

Review 16:Perfect hosts, couldn't do enough to help. Great breakfast ran like clockwork. Hotel full but never heard any noise. Spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished.

Review 17:Nothing!

Review 18:Quick, early check in. Lots of variety at breakfast. Lovely clean bathroom and room. Plenty of toiletries and biscuits with the tea and coffee in the room.

Review 19:It took us a little time to discover the delights of Dumfries, and there are some, you just need to explore and winkle them out.

Review 20:Owner and staff very helpful and accommodating, anything we wanted such as green tea and hash browns for breakfast, they provided.

Review 21:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 22:The hotel was very close to the railway station and the town centre was only 5 minutes walk away. The friendliness of the owners was superb, making you feel very welcome, and the hotel itself was delightful. The breakfasts were very filling, with a good variety to suit all tastes. The attention to detail in the bedroom was greatly appreciated and we would definitely stay here again.

Review 24:Owners friendly but not intrusive. Rooms were spotless. Beautiful house. Lots of personal touches. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day

Review 26:UHT milk cartons!!!!!!!! Drawer space for clothes wd be helpful if staying longer.

Review 27:The owners were very helpful and thoughtful. Outside seating area in nice weather and plentiful parking area.

Review 28:The atmosphere is relaxed, attentive and friendly. It's a good base for exploring further afield yet handy to walk to shops and eating places. Terry is a fund of knowledge about the area and provides good advice in terms of sights/visits.

Review 29:The owners are very friendly, and gave us lots of useful tips for our stay in Scotland. And, since we're bikers: they are too, and the hotel even has a separated motorcycle parking area.Tops!

Review 30:Nothing really, as a B&B evening meals were not available but local restaurants are only a short stroll away. This is a shame, as provision of a light meal option would be the cherry on the pudding!

Review 31:Hotel was very easy to locate and had ample parking with a dedicated motorcycle area ( always a good thing for us Bikers). Terry the host was very happy to assist where he could without being intrusive. The room was presented to a very high standard and would put some larger hotels to shame. It was well-appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and my chosen paper sourced for me locally. A lot of thought has obviously been put into making a stay perfect.

Review 32:The staff we're very rude on leaving and accused us of smoking and billed us for it. Very annoying accent too.

Review 33:The rooms had everything you needed and would have been perfect if we never had a disgusting cheap mirror in the room.

Review 34:my partner and I were happy with our accommodation terry and lynn were great hosts and very friendly our room was spotless and homely and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

Review 35:The building is superb, a bit like staying at a country manor but right on the town. Loads of parking, lovely people and very friendly, you're sad when you leave!

Review 36:No complaints at all.

Review 37:Terry was very friendly and went that extra mile to make our stay more enjoyable. Tried his trip round the reservoirs and loch on the way home - this was fantastic and enabled us to see some really picturesque Scotland.

Review 48:We were on our way to the Ryder Cup and broke our journey in Dumfries. this hotel proved to be in a good location for restaurants, Little Italy just up the road was excellent, best of all was the directions terry the landlord/owner of the Hotel gave us on getting to Edinburgh via a spectacular road.

Review 61:As Terry mentioned at breakfast on 24 July, Dumfries was to have the rare experience of being 2 inches from the sun that day. We found our room very hot for sleeping in the unusually warm summer. Our next visit to the Huntington will be in Autumn or Spring!

Review 62:It is a lovely building, well maintained and the hosts are committed to excellence in service. We felt very comfortable. Lynne asked us on arrival if we had washing. This was greatly appreciated as we had been on the road for a couple of weeks. Terry not only made sure that we got a great breakfast but he got us laughing many times with his stories and anecdotes. The room was clean, quite roomy and the WiFi excellent. We also liked the location and found it an easy stroll into town. Can recommend the Cravens Arms bar/restaurant for dinner - possibly the best evening meal we had on our road trip around Scotland. All in all, a delightful stay.
