Reviews for 17 Burgate
Review 1:The owners are friendly and very helpful. Beautiful old house with pretty garden. Excellent car park. The bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely comfortable. Delicious breakfast. We would return to No 17 as we all enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 2:This establishment definitely deserves its high rating! The owners made us feel extremely welcome, giving the whole place a pleasant, relaxing ambience. We stayed in the 1 Bed cottage, whilst our other family members stayed in the B & B. This is an extremely good combination as the cottage is well equipped, with separate kitchen, living space and garden which gives you extra flexibility during your stay. The accommodation was tastefully furnished throughout. Good choice of local restaurants (Bistro, Indian, Italian and Chinese), plus for real ale fans, an excellent brew pub, all just 2-3 minutes away
Review 3:Road works on both the back and front of 17 Burgate did make it rather difficult to find the car park, but this was soon sorted after we asked the workmen how we could get to it via another street.
Review 4:We found the location very convenient for restaurants and shops. Car parking good. Overall had a very enjoyable overnight stay.
Review 5:Room huge with settee, pleasant view and very comfortable bed. Bathroom with all amenities. Owner very helpful, even offering to cook us a (very!) early breakfast.
Review 6:Nothing...
Review 7:Nice apartment! Everything you need is available! Getting in the apartment there was some milk, bread, butter, cake, jam and eggs in the fridge! Very pleasant and a nice start for the next morning!
Review 8:this is a B&B run by a very friendly couple. In a great location. Rooms are spacious and welcoming, providing all the essentials. Can't fault a thing.
Review 9:Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast.Good location for getting about Yorkshire. Made very welcome with cake and tea/coffee on arrival. Would be happy to recommend. We will definately go back again.
Review 10:Parking might be a problem if number 17 is full as there is no parking at 19. The second bedroom was locked.
Review 11:Some goodies left for us to settle in. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything you could need was there.
Review 12:Having to leave.
Review 13:Loved everything about this B & B Beautiful rooms, extremely clean, friendly owners, perfect location, yummy breakfast. In fact one of the best places we've stayed in our 30 years of traveling.
Review 14:Could have done with more cake.
Review 15:From parking to walking through the garden, we had a idea of the standard of the place, we weren't dissapointed . The rooms were so inviting and the deco tasteful. Just perfect
Review 16:The two front steps were quite steep but this was mentioned by the owners in the booking confirmation.
Review 17:The cottage was warm, cosy and very well equipped. Great to have DAB radio upstairs as well as downstairs! To be able to book for 3 days just when we wanted it was brilliant. We loved the little garden and summerhouse even in late October.
Review 18:Nothing to dislike
Review 19:Everything, could not fault it. Very homely and comfie , lovely decor, spotlessly clean. Towels, dressing gowns and toiletries included + a few starter items bread butter wine cake etc just perfect .
Review 20:We liked the spacious room and excellent en suite facilities . The bed was very comfortable and everything was top quality. Location perfect and made very welcome on arrival with tea and cake in the lounge. Would certainly stay again.
Review 21:Pickering is rather hilly, but this isn't the fault of the hotel.
Review 22:Tea and a slice of cake on arrival. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast menu. Friendly and helpful proprietor.
Review 23:The only grumble we had was the time of breakfast of when it was served and that it was only a half hour slot.
Review 24:Service and general cleanliness excellent. Also decor and finish of the room was to a high standard.
Review 25:breakfast is served quite late 0845-0915 weekends (0815-0845 weekdays). Appeared to have worse terms via booking.com than if we had booked direct.
Review 26:Quiet convenient location near to centre of Pickering with parking availbale at rear. Very helful staff. Resturants and bars as well as North York Moors railway and castle nearby
Review 27:Can't think of any dislikes?apart from leaving.....didn't like that!!

Review 29:Loved everything about the cottage. Very comfortable and had all we could possibly need. The garden and summerhouse were a bonus. Very close to Pickering main street.
Review 30:Breakfast was a big disappointment considering the 5 star quality accommodation. Portion sizes were tiny for a full English. Fresh fruit selection not replenished hardly any left for us. No tablecloths. Shame - enjoyed everything else. Would recommend but without the optional breakfast.
Review 31:Quality of bedroom and location. Welcome host.
Review 32:Not aware of anything to not like.
Review 33:This establishment is well located in the town, with polite, attentive owners resident on site. Could not fault anything with our stay.
Review 34:Breakfast was good but not over generous and would have been cheaper had we booked direct with the guesthouse.
Review 35:Central location, large room in a totally renovated old house. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 36:My husband and I liked everything. However, our dog Olga the borzoi - a sight hound, aged 11, did not think much of the cat statue on the garden stairs. The live resident ginger cat moved away, eventually, but the statue just stood there. Olga thought it quite menacing, even without hissing and back arching. In other words, there was really nothing there to dislike. (Olga got over the statue as soon as she fell asleep.)
Review 37:Genuine hospitality of proprietors, Easy to find, pretty location, sunny, unflappable reception, despite the fact that our emailed request concerning our dog had not reached No17 in time, Generous bed and toiletries, good eggs for breakfast, decent conversation, homely unpretentious pictures in the hall, car park within easy reach, truly excellent Indian restaurant for dinner within walking distance.

Review 94:We requested an extension to our stay, but could not be accommodated in the B&B so was offered 4 nights in recently refurbished adjacent 1 bed cottage, self catering. Was totally satisfactory, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Review 95:Booking.com! I ticked the box for B&B with breakfast but the bookingwent through without breakfast. Owner rectified this though.
Review 96:Liked absolutely everything. Owners went way above and beyond what anyother B&B owners have done in the past. Will probably always use 17Burgate as the yard stick now.
Review 97:I stay in hotels around 70 nights a year and never, never leave reviews as it's one of the items I'd put in room 101 being constantly asked to review every service, delivery etc. However this place is just superb and well worth a mention. I will be back
Review 98:It was difficult to connect to the wifi in the bedroom but the B&B only advertises wifi in public areas so I suppose I should be delighted that I could connect at all from the comfort of the bedroom!
