Review 6：This was an exceptional place to stay. From the very first moment we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the super guy who manages the place. Delicious breakfasts were cooked to order and served near the pool. The room was kept immaculately clean but we were never disturbed by cleaning staff. The garden suites are away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, but only a few minutes walk. It was a gorgeous, relaxing holiday. Thank you, Mario!

Review 7：The premises are spacious and quiet, though a very short walk from the middle of town with the shops, the tavernas and the beach. Conveniently located, amply and efficiently run by a discrete helpful staff, headed by mario who seems to be in full control. Spacious clean rooms, delightful swimming pool, sumptuous healthy food.

The reasons for us to return: The nice suite with two private balconies, the friendly and caring staff, the excellent breakfast, the snacks and the fantastic pool area. Review 11：I do not usually leave reviews, but the team at Elounda Garden Suites really went out of their way to make my holiday perfect in every way. Mario at reception was the perfect host. The accommodation was spacious, clean and had wonderful views across the gardens from two balconies. Very quiet and great location with a short walk (less than 5 minutes) into town. Highly recommend.

Review 14：As a solo traveller on crutches the management did everything thing to make me feel comfortable. They arranged for me to have breakfast in my room and also arranged for dinner even though this is not a service they usually provide. I would highly recommend it especially if you're family with young children. All the garden suites are located around the pool,

Review 30：Warm, welcoming and sincerely friendly staff. Mario, the manager, is both professionally and personally fantastic. Beautiful, freshly cooked hot breakfasts and wide and varying range of homemade cold breakfast selections with fresh juices, teas and coffees are available every day. The rooms are modern and are immaculately cleaned and tidied each day. The King size bed was the comfiest I've had away from home. The pool area is quiet and relaxing and the bar offers a good selection of drinks, cocktails and freshly prepared snacks. Would recommend EGS to anyone, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Review 35：A great place to wind down and enjoy the beautiful calm environment. All the staff were great and Mario the manager was very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The rooms were well equipped and the beds comfy with a mattress topper. Everything was clean and new and very nicely decorated, the pool is dreamy. Access to the small town is very easy in close walking distance with lots to see nearby and day outings. Great breakfast or self cater whichever you prefer. Highly recommend this lovely place.

Review 36：Quiet appartment. Breakfast à la carte, very nice presented. The hotel is situated at 300 metres from the port and centre of Elounda with many restaurants. We made trips to Spinalonga (boat from Plaka at 5 km - read 'The island' of Victoria Hislop before this trip), Agios Nikolaos (10 km), Ierapetra (most southern city of Europe at 40 km), Heraklion (80 km) and Knossos (80 km). As we are joggers we started at the hotel and we did a very nice route of 5 km along the sea and up in the hills. Nice swimmingpool. Friendly staff.

Review 47：The apartments are very small with limited self catering facilities. We were only staying for one night and could not imagine how a family would manage in the restricted space for a week or more. The continental breakfast was okay as it was self service but each item of a hot breakfast was served separately, (e.g. ham first, then eggs later), and to one person at a time, so breakfast took a long time. For the facilities and standard of accommodation, the cost was very high.

Review 49：Elounda is disappointing but this is most certainly not the hotel's fault. The hotel lacks charm with regards to the decoration, but it's functional and tasteful if not particularly charming.

Excellent points for the lovely staff, the service is without fault, beach towels provided for free upon request, gift bag with lovely Cretan products at the end of the stay. Excellent cleaning service. Quiet location within a loud city, the hotel isn't on the main road preventing any noise. Excellent water pressure in the bathroom.

Review 51：We went to Crete for a week's break and wanted somewhere informal and somewhere we could relax. The Garden Suites were perfect for that. The place is on a small scale which allows the very friendly staff to give a very personalised service. Breakfasts and bar food were excellent and the whole facility is spotless.

Right from when we first arrived and Mario was so friendly and helpful....nothing felt like to much trouble to anyone working at Elounda Gardens. Review 56：We have just arrived back from This fantastic boutique hotel. From the moment we arrived Mario and Alex couldn't of been more helpful getting us settled in etc The breakfast at this hotel is really fantastic, freshly prepared for you. Freshly squeezed juices every morning which I have never had else where and a fantastic selection of homemade jams. The fruit is prepared beautifully Strawberrys hulled etc And a different homemade cake everyday for after breakfast The lady made a Tiramisu one morning and it was the best one I have ever tasted bearing in mind this is not an Italian restaurant !!! The location is perfect,1 min if that into town and not hilly at all as we had two prams so was perfect As you leave the hotel you feel like your in a real Greek small town With children going to school etc Then 10 seconds later your in elounder It's great. We had 2 young children with us and they were made to feel really welcome The place is spotless and the pool is pristine This is a small hotel perfect for couples or small families looking for a quiet relaxing time I really can't stress how good this place is and writing this will probably make more people go but don't spoil it for us please !!!!

Review 62：Alex, Christina and their team made us feel like at home, we have rarely been treated so well. They were always there in case we needed anything: starting from help with the suitcases to welcome and farewell drinks, to great advice regarding day tours. The hotel is brandnew and very clean, with a nice pool and garden design. Excellent for families with children, as closed off area and garden. 3 min. to stores, 5 min. to the beach - we can highly recommend.

The whole place appeared to have been recently built/renovated and the pool and bar area were also very nice. The location was also great as it was a very short walk from the centre of Elounda.

Review 74：I have recently been going to very large resort hotels on the North coast but last May stayed a week at Elounda Garden Suites. It was a fantastic experience. Elounda is a very pleasant little town on the northern/east coast with lots of bars and cafes in the harbor and then round a coastal walk there is a public sandy beach with more restaurants. Last week I visited this hotel again. The welcome was warm and friendly. Our Suite 203 was clean and nice with a comfortable bed, living room, bathroom, kitchenette, coffee tray, fridge, Air/con, a brand new TV with satellite channels and free wifi with great signal . Suite 203 offers a good size terrace in front of the living room with view over the pool and a balcony out of the bedroom with garden and mountain view. In the pool/ snack bar you can have great breakfast or a snack during the day. I would recommend it. The food is good and the prices very good. There is a nice pool and a nice area around with umbrellas and sun beds to relax in the sun. The village and its restaurants and beach are in walking distance. Good places to eat (locals go there too) are Nikos (fish), Anemomylos and Paparouna. Booked to go again direct with Alex next June and looking forward to it!

Review 75：Good sized rooms, clean, comfortable. Friendly service, great location close to town. Left water and wine in room. Noticed it was my birthday and provided birthday cake and sparkling wine.

Review 76：The staff were amazing, and incredibly kind. The cakes made by Katerina were positively delicious. Breakfast was worth every penny. Phillip, the bartender, gave us excellent recommendations for dinner in town. The cleaning crew zipped through our room, we never saw them or even heard a knock, but our room got clean the second we stepped out. Wifi coverage was more than most places. We had great access from our room to the pool and bar areas. All in all, the staff made our stay in Elounda pretty darn marvelous! I would recommend them to anyone planning a trip there.

Review 77：You would be hard pushed to find a better located accommodation in Elounda. We had a great two week stay. Lovely room with two balconies and all we needed for a holiday that ticked the boxes for us. Breakfast recommended.

Review 78：One of the members of our group is a coeliac - we let the staff know before we arrived and while we were there, they provided a loaf of gluten free bread to make sure that she had things she could eat. This kind of personal service isn't always provided. The rooms were lovely, with a bedroom and living room (including 2 hobs, a fridge and a sink). Ours also had 2 balconies (one with 2 sun loungers on it) and most of the rooms we saw had balcony space. The pool area was lovely with a good mix of sun and shade available. Elounda itself is a lovely town. Sandy beach within easy walking distance. The shops were good, especially a local greengrocer, which was very good value for money.

Review 79：Kitchen didn't really have any pots or pans to be able to actually do any cooking but that really wasn't a problem for us. Cleaning a little more attention to detail mirror over sink was often left uncleaned otherwise very clean. Bath gel sometimes ran low and had to ask for extra.

Breakfasts were abundant even though a platter of fresh fruit would have been nice. The location was perfect and peaceful. Beautiful island and wonderful people. Review 81：Very clean, quiet at night so slept well but still a close 5 minute walk to town and restaurants. Breakfast at hotel was excellent. Didn't use the pool but it looked beautiful and seemed very popular. The "welcome" fruit plate and wine was most appreciated!

Elounda Graden Suites has a nice layout and is decorated in subtle colors and with impeccable taste. Original artwork from a talented Greek artist is to be found throughout the hotel. Review 87：Alex, Katarina and the other persons working here, were very warm, caring and very serviceminded. Throughout many years in hotels I have never experinced the like. The breakfast was good, the rooms were nice, I had some good nights sleep. My own morninggown, presents in the fridge, and whereelse do they play classic music in the evening. Relaxing. Alex also booked Georigi (masseur and fysiotherapist) for an hour rakotherapy on my balcony. Recommendably. I will, no doubt be back. Thank you:-)

Review 103：Attitude in the Bank in Elounda. Said I couldn't find out thebalance on my cash card when I could (as Katerina proved for me). Tripback on shuttle bus: was on it for 3 hours as driver went round Malia 3times trying to find some people who had obviously taken a taxi to theairport instead. (Told that cost of taxi from Elounda is 90 euros.)Airport facilities need to be improved especially food, sign posting forlanes etc and training of staff in assisting passengers.

Review 104：Wow! What wasn't there to like about Elounda Garden Suites? Iarrived at 3.15 am and walked down the concrete path, lit with gardenlights. Everywhere else was in darkness and so quiet. No-one around andthen reached the swimming pool where Alex met me. He runs the Suites andtold me I had been upgraded. My flat was looking right across the pool.It was great! Complimentary fruit, wine and bottle of water in fridge.Everything I needed was contained there and although I was going to cook(and asked for saucepans etc which were provided), I didn't becausethere are so many lovely restaurants in Elounda. I was there for 1 week.In that time I was looked after by the staff who were so kind. Nothingwas too much trouble. They helped me with various problems, eg with mycash card (as the bank was extremely discourteous) and assisted me ingetting a good deal on a car. I didn't eat in their restaurant, buthad breakfasts there which were made to order. Anything you wanted, youcould ask for. They were enormous portions and always, which I had totake away, Katerina's sweet of the day! Her specialities: gorgeous!The suites are only 5 mins out of the centre. All the shops are thereand restaurants you could wish for. I ate at Arodamos, a small Greekrestaurant just down from the suites: lovely in the garden. Also atParadoslaico, which is on the corner of the main car park in the centre.They were so helpful in telling me the size of the dishes for me todecide. The Sea Bream was so delicious. It fell off the bone. Also ateat Vradis's Tavern, which seems to be floating in the harbour. Goodfood but very filling there. And at Kalidon restaurant in centre. Ihired a car for 3 days for a very good deal and used it to visitIrapetra. Stunning scenery on the way. Visited Turkish sector whenthere. Visited Agios Nickolaos on second day of having car. Was wiltingand found a lovely restaurant in the back street: Pelagoes.

Review 105：Great staff. could not do enough for us, really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Happy to help us organise trips and excursions and helped us with anything we needed. Lovely stylish hotel, very chilled out... rooms comfy and very clean, with comfy beds, quiet and peaceful around pool with nice sun-beds, and a lovely pool.

Review 106：Nothing during our stay. But, although the 6 or 7 designated parking spaces were more than sufficient during our stay, it may require parking along the street when fully booked in high season.

Review 107：Where ever you go, if you are made to feel really welcome, the place is likely to stay in your memory for a long time. The hosts, and certainly Alex Lekkas, at Elounda Garden Suites have certainly achieved that for us! To start with you get an email from Alex confirming your booking and adding driving instructions to the hotel. Upon arrival (early June) we got a very spacious apartment on the first floor with 2 balconies overlooking the pool, the village, and a bit of the sea in the distance. Plus advice for an excellent place to dine that night. A quiet location at a distance of about 200 meters from the center of Elounda, the local beach and the boat to Spinalonga. Excellent swimming pool and nice bar area, good wifi. Apparently, we were the first in this particular apartment after the renewal/refurbishment and a minor technical problem was immediately resolved. Great advice was given on sights to see, restaurants, and places to go to. When one of us was not well, our hosts prepared a special meal for us (free of charge as it turned out later), which - perception or not - did indeed help to speed up recovery! We selected this place based on the high valuation, reviews and detailed description on Booking.com - reality exceeded our expectation ! Finally after our return we received another nice email from Alex - another example for others on how to delight the customer !! [ We would therefore give it a rating of 9,8 ]
