Reviews for Premier Inn Whitstable

Review 1:We often stay at Premier Inn at Waterways Stratford on Avon. And expected the same facilities. We couldn't believe the difference. Would not stay at another Premier Inn without checking it out first. Very disappointing but the staff were very nice.

Review 2:The staff and the closeness to whitstable town centre

Review 3:None

Review 4:Have stayed there before and will continue to in the future. Staff are friendly and helpful and a good base to visit my son who only lives 3 miles away.

Review 5:No tissues in the bedroom. Not enough shelves in the bathroom for toiletries. 2 suitcase racks would be good, we used the extra bed/couch. The size of the print on our invoice for the stay is far too small and almost illegible. A magnifying glass is necessary for easy reading.

Review 6:Instant hot water for bath and washing, but no extractor fan. Clean, tidy. Good bed.

Review 7:I was unable to turn the heating down despite reading what to do. There was some mould on ceiling in bathroom.

Review 8:The bed was wonderful including the linen etc. This especially as I was on my own! Very quiet location

Review 9:Evening meal at the adjacent Beefeater. I had to sit in the bar as notables were available. I waited over 45 minutes for my dessert, but nostaff took any notice of me, so asked for my money back and left as itwas too late to eat by then.

Review 10:Helpful staff. I could open the window for fresh air.

Review 11:Everything. Reception staff most helpful and obliging. Especially when I felt ill. Had evening meal in beefeater also excellent service and great meal. Will return later in year.

Review 12:There was nothing to not like

Review 13:The staff the service the location the breakfast Nothing the reception staff were asked was never any problem. The whole stay was a pleasure

Review 14:We were so impressed with your Staff member Alex. We called the hotel the week before we stayed to amend our booking and she was above and beyond helpful. When we arrive she was on the front desk and again was so helpful. She is an absolute credit to your company and you should be very proud to have such a brilliant member of staff on your team!

Review 15:usually our stays are fine, room comfortable, but this recent time, bed very uncomfortable, very high mattress and very hard to sleep on. was glad to get home to my own bed.

Review 16:location just right for us. short bus journey, down into Whitstable. don't have too use car.

Review 17:No lift. Breakfast good, but 2 of the servers had seriously filthy aprons, fortunately they weren't my servers. Difficult to get out of car park during peak times.

Review 18:Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms immaculately clean.

Review 19:You are only given one hand towel for two people. The rooms are get very warm, during the night, so I did not sleep very well on the first night, even though we had the window open, there was no air coming in, the fans proved were too noisy, so on the 2nd night we used the sheet, but it was still very warm.

Review 20:It was in the right location, for where we wanted to go.

Review 21:Room too hot even with window open very warm to sleep even at end of September

Review 22:Reception staff especially helpful finding a ground floor room after I had had an accident on day of arrival.

Review 23:Could not get a good sleep as the room was much too warm and we were unable to open the window more than an inch. Both nights were the same which was surprising as it was not particularly warm outside.

Review 24:Liked most things.

Review 25:Expensive, family room small no different to my parents room just extra beds crammed in! My sons put up bed collapsed during the night waking us and scaring him. My daughter on the sofa bed hard didn't sleep well. Room hot although had fans could not adjust room temp. Beefeater staff some rude leave you standing waiting for a table food very average.

Review 26:Clean rooms friendly staff in the hotel staff refunded half due to my sons bed collapsing !!

Review 27:Very basic, especially the bathroom was quite dated. No basics you expect these days like fridge, phone or shelves. Had to order an iron from reception. Breakfast was next door in Beefeater and although wifi it was very slow and have to pay for faster connection

Review 28:Comfortable room, bed was great. Staff were very friendly.

Review 29:No bad things to say about the hotel itself! However the pub next door for breakfast etc the staff was very slow with service even when not busy

Review 30:Brilliant weekend had!

Review 31:Noise of the window rattling in the wind and rain woke me up at 3am and I couldn't get back to sleep. Room next door sounded Like someone was moving furniture around 6/7am. Also I was very unhappy with the fact there was only one small hand towel in the bathroom and partner had to use the small bath Matt/towel for the floor and we couldn't call down to reception for anymore as there was no phone in the room. Went to complain on check out and there was no one on reception.

Review 32:Staff was pleasent

Review 33:Sadly we had a very bad experience while staying here in the pub connected next door the long reach which I am still dealing with Also our room had spiders and cobwebs everywhere we were not happy with that cleaning not good and the room was so hot no air con

Review 34:The staff at this hotel were truly amazing starting with the lovley Tim. Alex and callum An asset to this company

Review 35:Not a negative but air conditioning would be nice in the rooms.

Review 36:Everything about the room, staff and food was wonderful. If you require someone to travel round and carry out assessments of your accommodation please let me know because my standards are high and premier was one of the best that I had stayed in.

Review 37:Room was far too warm, i don't usually moan but there was no air flow resulting in not much sleep, however, the staff were really sympathetic and helpful and supplied an electric fan.I would like to express my thanks to them all.

Review 38:Staff were fantastic, room clean and bed comfortable. My wife and myself spent our second wedding anniversary here as it was a great location for the seafood restaurants in Whitstable, Would recommend this hotel to anybody. Will soon be booking up for our next anniversary!!!!!!!

Review 39:The cooked breakfast was poor, a tiny spoonful of beans, tomato & mushroom were undercooked, the sausage was as small as a cocktail sausage, the poached egg was overlooked

Review 40:The staff were very helpful

Review 41:It was very hot despite using the fan and sheet. Do you have any lightweight duvets? I would have preferred a room with a shower rather than a bath which we were unable to use.

Review 42:Service was very slow in the restaurant waiting for a table on the night we arrived. It was pretty busy that night but it didn't bother me too much.

Review 43:Stayed in other locations in the past. Rooms are comfortable especially the bed.first places I look for when l visited the UK.

Review 44:Would have liked a bottle of water in room; room was very hot, free wifi was so slow (couldnt use it) and ultimate wifi was very expensive - felt that was misleading as we had to pay for decent wifi.

Review 45:Convenient location, very friendly staff

Review 46:I found our room a bit warm, however they had put a fan in for us which did help cool it.

Review 47:Reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and informative about local area etc. Also I left a bag in reception by mistake on my way out & the staff had found it & kept it for me.

Review 48:It was an excellent idea having the free Wi-Fi. The room was clean and functional. The staff were professional, courteous and welcoming all in all just as Lenny Henry describes it in the advert!

Review 49:There was nothing we did not like

Review 50:The staff were very helpful in getting a room ready early as we had a wedding to attend. They even booked a taxi for us

Review 51:It was far too hot in the rooms so we didn't have a good night's sleep. It was also further out of Whitstable centre than I realised. So too expensive given these problems.

Review 52:The staff were brilliant and a good amount of parking available

Review 53:A small misunderstanding over my sister's case late in the evening which could have been so easily resolved without all the fuss.

Review 54:Kind and and willing staff. A good night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed followed by a huge satisfying breakfast.

Review 55:i loved the comfort and the facilities in my room. The only disappointment I have was it wasnt very well signposted from the main road. Went right down to the Herne Bay Premier and had to double back on myself..

Review 56:Warm welcome, every staff member was friendly and helpful. Room was super clean and comfortable. Enjoyed a good night's sleep on both nights. We ate at the beefeater next door in the evening which was great value for money and very enjoyable. Staff were fab , breakfast was great in the morning too. Will definitely be using again on our next trip to whitstable.

Review 57:Was very hot in room but provided small fans ( also, it was a heatwave when we went!!!!). Location is ok - there is a bus outside but quite a way to seafront.

Review 58:Gorgeous comfy bed & large room.

Review 59:The location is a little bit out of town but we knew that. The free wifi is good but not brilliant, however you can pay to upgrade so its not really a problem.

Review 60:I do like a Premier Inn. We had a big, clean room with a very comfy bed. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were in Whitstable during the Oyster festival on the first weekend in August so the price we paid was very reasonable.

Review 61:Don't agree with Lenny,Hypnos bed too hard!! Beefeater Grill..tired and tatty, felt not too clean, food not appetising!

Review 62:Premier Inn clean, staff very helpful, liked the addition of fan and sheet for bed because of hot weather.

Review 63:nothing

Review 64:everything! We travelled with 2 young children (2 and 3 1/2): the room was big enough. The room was really perfect: extra pillows and even an extra light blanket if we were too hot with the one on the bed, a fan, a kettle... : a lot of kind attentions! And the staff is polite and nice!

Review 65:The whole experience at premier inn was good . The only problem being was that breakfast was not included in price room which for three nights would have made it over £300 pounds. I

Review 66:Felt expensive for what it is, I guess due to location.

Review 67:Very friendly welcome from reception staff. Neutral decor. Quiet (hotel was full, no noise from other guests at night). Comfortable room. Good to be able to regulate room temperature on thermostat and able to open window for fresh air as very hot room when we arrived.

Review 68:We had a quad room with a pull out bed that was particularly uncomfortable. Our 7yo couldn't even sleep on it.

Review 69:Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 70:Being in mind I had booked this stay a month in advance and also stated on further information that I gluten free , there was very little effort made in the attached restaraunt , the first morning I asked for the gluten free option for the sweet bread buffet ( muffins , croissant crumpets ) I was given 3 slices of frozen gf bread !!! Mm guess I be using the toaster then ! Asked if there was anything else ... No ! So I had partial cooked breakfast , no gf sausages as an option . Evening meal had on site too , no gf option in puddings ( ice cream I can't have either ) we can do a fruit salad ?! Fruit salad , I wish I had a pound for the gf option of fruit salad when all I would like is a dollop of stodgy choc brownie ! You would like to think such a large chain of hotels could sort out this option , my local pub offers 3 inc bread pudding !! I know the menus at the age of 41 to know what I'm safe with so main courses weren't a problem , the options however were !

Review 71:Given a sheet instead of the 10 tog duvet to sleep under when our bedroom was reading 26 degs we had a fan ,but the window would only open two inches ( for safety reasons I under stand ) no air con !

Review 72:Beefeater next door not a very happy place and needs some thorough cleaning and TLC. NO AIRCON and it was extremely hot during our stay.

Review 73:Rooms are great for families (2 adult + 2 teens). Walking distance to work. Free parking.

Review 74:Very poor cooked breakfast, chewy bacon, tastless sausages and soft hass browns! Neither my partner or myself finished the meal and did not bother on the second day, although we paid.

Review 75:On booking requested twin bed but double supplied though this was quickly rectified. No biscuits? Insufficient quantity of tea milk n sugar, realized too late to request. Requested a quiet room but over looked car park and awoken at 5 a.m. when other guests packed and slammed car doors.

Review 76:The room, the bed, the tv, the layout and décor of room.

Review 77:Very hot weather and no air conditioning. Impossible to open windows. Matress needed replacing. Room 32.

Review 78:Friendly staff, nice room and quiet facing the car park

Review 79:Quite noisy second night due to party guests, and didn't have a good second night, but cleared up by reception staff and refunded.

Review 80:Great location and really fantastic staff

Review 81:breakfast tasted nice but we thought the tables and breakfast buffet area where very dirty and the staff seemed a bit flustered this was on the Sunday however Monday had different staff and it was like a different place clean tidy and well organised.

Review 82:location was ideal about a 20 min walk to the harbour. Hotel clean and tidy rooms spacious and bed very comfortable staff very friendly and welcoming.

Review 83:Harvester next door. Always busy and not tidy.Expensive breakfast compared with other chains. Cheaper to eat in Whitstable and much nicer.

Review 84:Great location for exploring .helpful staff.

Review 85:on our last visit, we didn't book breakfast, we think it his very expensive,we know its eat has much has u want, but has pensioners, we don't allways want that much. they should offer pensioners prices, which we think would go a longway to suit older people.also mirror in room should be situated on wall by table not on entrance wall just inside door.

Review 86:bus stop right outside premier,so we can park car and travel on bus. which his a big bonus.staff very friendly,,always remember us. everytime we go back there. which his at least 3 times a year.

Review 87:No air conditioning, uncomfortable bed and the location didn't mack the picture on the net. Quite disappointing.

Review 88:The person at the reception was great. Very helpful. The room was clean.

Review 89:Breakfast could have been better - a greater selection for continental. Coffee was cold.

Review 90:Convenient location for Canterbury and Whitstable Good value for money Very clean

Review 91:Friendliness of the staff and their willingness to assist in all ways possible incl. arranging taxis, bus times and stops and even giving an alarm clock

Review 92:Understaffed at breakfast led to long waits and no cups, hot water etc. However, staff who were there were ace, especially guy on front of house who must have the patience of a saint. Pay him more.

Review 93:Quiet night's sleep

Review 94:Noisey neighbors above, walking about during the night, I think!!!

Review 95:Always enjoy premier inn staff always helpful, had an excellent disabled room for my hubby.

Review 96:Problem with wasted water in my room it run out bit slow in bathroom and all room need a bath map

Review 97:I enjoyed is one and staff then hotel and pub as well On Friday and weekend it is best boolk a table and room as well

Review 98:Soundproofing poor - could hear noise from bedroom above. Wifi was rubbish & don't see why I should have to pay £5 to get acceptable WiFi speeds. Food in Beefeater was appalling - had to be sent back as not cooked, then told it would take a further 12 minutes to provide new food which meant would be eating after the rest of the party had finished.

Review 99:Large triple room

Review 100:Walking from hotel to breakfast/restaurant/bar. Accepting that they are two separate buildings, why cannot an entrance to the pub be nearer than the front door?

Review 101:Overall clean but There were some dried out spots in my bed sheet. The duvet cover on sofa bed smelled something like rusty metal(??).

Review 102:Simple and clean facilities

Review 103:Aircon unable to cool the room so had to open the window, which was right next to a dual carriageway! Too hot and too noisy

Review 104:Comfortable room, good breakfast

Review 105:All good

Review 106:The staff at the Premier were very helpful and friendly and when we arrived the man of the desk gave us all the information needed and was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable especially the bed and pillows we enjoyed a good nights sleep. The room was very clean and in good condition. Breakfast served in the Beafeater was excellent and again staff were pleasant and helpful. It was great to have wi-fi with a strong connection and free of charge. We will stay at this hotel again.

Review 107:Unfortunately the only local place to eat and drink was the on site beefeater, which had a power cut at 8:00pm and they would not let us buy a drink to take back to our room. Had to get a cab into Whitstable to eat. We were booked for breakfast the following morning. Really upset, still closed.

Review 108:The beds are really comfortable

Review 109:the room was quite cold even though we turned thermostat up,as it would turn itself down automatically after about 30 mins ,leaving us shivering in 17degrees.

Review 110:didn't get ground floor room infact, topfloor very noisey was woke at 2am till gone 3am doors banging, we'd payed for breakfast in longreach, very disappointed. cooked breakfast was cold when served, also was seated in a draughty position. will be seriously thinking about booking again. such a shame has weve been regularly customers at premium inn over the last 2years.

Review 111:we visit family, so parking the car, and getting bus into Whitstable is great even a taxi is cheap. usually we like location of room has we are both pensioners, ground floor suits us.

Review 112:The breakfast was not too brilliant. The usual. The bread was the usual stodge. It would have been good to have had a nice wholemeal rye or equivalent. Also a sugar free muesli alternative, apart from the mainstream brands.

Review 113:Location to where I had a meeting the next morning. The bed was comfortable and I appreciated being able to control the room temperature.

Review 114:The basin water was not hot enough. The alarm cord trailed on the floor and I tripped over it. The pressure on the shower was too low, meaning that I was squashed onto the taps, so I could not get a decent shower and felt cold because I could only really get water onto my head. The bed did not appear to be as large as my home King Size as my feet fell over the end. Did not appear to be your advertised type of bed. No name on the mattress cover. How does a disabled person shower in a bath rather than a shower cubicle?

Review 115:PRICE FOR ONE NIGHT WAS EXPENSIVE ( BUT IT WAS NEW YEAR'S EVE) BREAKFAST IS VERY EXPENSIVE

Review 116:- DRIVING DISTANCE FROM WHITSTABLE WHICH IS JUST DOWN A HILL - STAFF WERE REALLY HELPFUL - VERY CLEAN - OFFER BREAKFAST AT A COST AND THE STAFF THERE WERE GOOD.

Review 117:Only one sachet of coffee and one sugar each-didnt realise until already changed for bed-no phone in room and unable without getting dressed again to get any more.No rubber slip mat in shower. No hairdryer but an apology note on dressing table.None of these noticed until needed. Advised staff next morning and told some were available but needed to go down to reception for them!

Review 118:staff welcoming-room large-bed comfortable

Review 119:The restaurant initially served wine that was warm which we returned. It then came back with ice in it which as not acceptable. Then we had a glass cooled by washing it in cold water but still with warm wine in it. Eventually a cooler wine was delivered but still not entirely acceptable.

Review 120:Nothing to dislike.

Review 121:Location for Whitstable area was really good and easy to find. Lovely place to stay for shops and fish resturants At the harbour. Beautiful place.

Review 122:Be aware that you are more than walking distance from the beach area so you will have to drive or get the bus.

Review 123:The male receptionist was excellent, fielding many queries from me very calmly and was clearly knowledgeable about the area. Good breakfast and plenty of car parking.

Review 124:I had a cooked breakfast and it was a total disappointment. The sausage was over cooked the bacon was rubbery and non edible my beans were cold and my egg was under cooked. I had a long day ahead of me and needed a good breakfast. Real let down and total waste of money.

Review 125:Fire alarm going off 3 times in one night. Quite concerned that customers were allowed to stay close to the building whilst waiting for the All Clear. No apparent system in place to check that all customers were out of their room. No evidence of a high viz fire warden. This needs to be addressed so that customers feels safe. Rooms stuffy. Staff in pub next door rude and unhelpful. The 'Barmaid' who served us drinks late evening reminded me of the 'am i bovered' character!

Review 126:Location and pricing. Comfy bed and good size room. All Premier Inn staff friendly and helpful. Electric fan in room. Refund for disturbance on the Friday night . Thank you

Review 127:Friendly and helpfull staff, very clean and amazingly comfy beds. Located conveniently off the M2 and a short drive from Whitstable itself. This could even be a pleasent walk if you have 20min and the energy.

Review 128:only thing is floorboards creaking when people upstairs are in their room and you are in a room downstairs

Review 129:Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Beefeater next door all food was very good. All staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

Review 130:No lift to first floor rooms. No handrail in the bath to aid stepping in and out of the shower.

Review 131:well located on bus route into Whitstable. The breakfasts from the adjacent beefeater were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 132:there was nothing i did'nt like great value for money even though I heard it had been reduced online to what we had paid for it. So will watch out for that.

Review 133:As soon as we arrived the guy at reception was very helpful one of our rooms was ready early as we had a wedding to attend at 1pm in Whitstable. just very friendly wish I had got the guys name, he ordered us a taxi just a real good vibe about the place.

Review 134:we were not impressed with the pub/restaurant for breakfast , although the staff were very helpful and friendly the decor was dark and dingy in need of a re-furb, also the set up as self service , for drinks, cereals, toast etc in three different places, people were almost bumping into each other carrying hot beverages and pots of tea and food. I hate having to make my own toast, cueing at a very slow toast machine, six people in front of me , bread in hand ....but that might be just me! Location was further away from Whitstable town than I thought.

Review 135:friendly polite staff wet saturday, heating not working reported to front desk, within minutes someone turned up to fix it, no prob. clean room. all up to the standard you would expect from a premier inn.
