Reviews for Volcano View by Caldera Collection

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Everything. No flaws. Services (Niko), hospitality, food, cleanliness, comfort, the view is spectacular! Please get the Villas, worth every penny. Free airport pick-up and transfer. Niko brings us to Fira Town whenever we ask him to (depends on his availability tho). Coz in winter only 2 times shuttle (forgot what are the times stipulated) but what I remember is, we asked him to bring us to town (at anor time, not in schedule) and he did. Everything is beyond awesome. Wifi is fast too! Loved every single bit about this place and definitely will come back, maybe during summer.

Review 3:We had an absolutely amazing stay at Volcano View. Extremely professional and helpful staff made our stay most enjoyable. The facilities and amenities were great. Would recommend this hotel any time.

Review 4:Food was average and Restaurant staff is not very attentive.

Review 5:Love the location, the hotel is very well maintained. Front reception Staff is attentive. Rooms are very clean and well appointed. .

Review 6:Being on display while having a massage - it would be better if the curtains were drawn a bit. And I could smell smoke from a couple of men that were smoking nearby - I felt like they were watching me have a massage....

Review 7:Amazing view. Very helpful staff. Beautiful pools and lounging areas. Bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful!

Review 8:Nothing negative to report.

Review 9:The locatyion of the hotel is exquisite, received an excellent room with all the necessary facilities, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful trying to make your stay an unforgettanle experience. Breakfast is amazing and rich of different dishes. |We simply loved it and highly recommend to all going to Santorini.

Review 10:Although we had an upgrade from standard to deluxe bedroom the room looked slightly tired and overlooked the pool. At night you could hear people walk past. Sometimes there weren't enough sunbeds around the big pool however this could be down to it being out of season.

Review 11:The staff were amazing and very knowledgeable. Nothing was a chore for them and they were always quick to respond. The view was incredible and for October was a good place to see the sunset. Hotel evening food was also excellent. Room facilities for showering were great and wifi connection was also good. Pool options were also great as there were 3 to choose from. The pool bar served great drinks and had some good music.

Review 12:We stayed in this excellent hotel for 5 wonderful days. We have really enjoyed the stunning views, upgraded room overlooking the caldera, wonderful breakfast and high standard service staff

Review 13:That we had to buy water

Review 14:The whole ambience of the resort. It was beautiful, all blue and white. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The chef was great

Review 15:I was upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The caldera view is stunning and watching the sunset from your balcony is a must. Staff were all friendly and happy to help with anything.

Review 16:The pool bar staff are not very friendly, no service around pool, must go to counter for anything.

Review 17:The view was amazing. The bus service into town is very good.

Review 18:bath and shower not comfortable because of low ceiling and awkward entry into the bath

Review 19:The unique and unforgettable view of the caldera and Fira as dawn and at sunset - The most beautiful view of the sea and the caldera in Santorini convenient location, attentive staff, represented by Neili, Genya, Tina and all the other employees of the hotel. comfortable room, fast WI-FI, daily room service.

Review 20:By far the most beautiful view of the caldera & sea. It's simply spectacular & takes your breath away. Sunset view is simply amazing & stunningly beautiful as well. The staff is all so pleasant, polite & courteous. Food is fantastic. Breakfast is plentiful with many choices. Nice & relaxing massage too.

Review 21:Wifi does not work very well, some room it has signal, some not. The room rate is a bit expensive

Review 22:Very very nice view. Everyday we had breakfast in our private balcony. Breakfast is fantastic. The manager is very friendly and helpful

Review 23:Bed was a bit hard for my personal taste.

Review 24:Three pools. Great breakfast, nice staff, great view, with a scooter it is close to fira town without having to be in the middle of the craziness.

Review 25:Nothing. It really was just perfect.

Review 26:The views are exactly what you see in photos of why you want to visit Santorini. Staff amazingly attentive and make you feel like family. From reception to management to restaurant staff - they're all lovely! Be sure to get cliff side massage and attend plate smashing Greek night!

Review 27:The location is good - it's not a center of a town, but amazing view and good transport communication provide relax and comfort. Staff is very friendly and professional, our special thanks to receptionist Zenia (Russian speaking belle), she helps us with some questions very efficient.

Review 28:We were told we had been given an upgrade - the room was fantastic, private and the view from our room which looked directly at the Caldera was spectacular, with nothing in between. However, the room was just below the pool pump room and the noise, while tolerable, was annoying!!

Review 29:The view is exceptional. You do NOT need to go to Fira or Oia to see the sunset as the best view is right here - relaxing with a drink at the restaurant!!

Review 30:The food overall was very poor. We had breakfast daily and lunch and dinner twice. I was very disappointed that the menu did not feature traditional Greek food. I ordered a room service burger and was delivered a single meat patty on a plate!!

Review 31:The best thing about the property is the view but the staff on the reception are also exceptional. The room was clean and fresh and the beds very comfortable. The property overall was immaculately clean.

Review 32:Night shift receptionist was not welcoming at all. I arrived at 3am andI was so disappointed with the attitude of the night receptionist. Somerooms are seperated from the main hotel area and you should go to thestreet to enter into the main hotel area!! If you travel with children(as I did) be aware of this. Not safe for children at all. I got one ofthose rooms upon arrival and when I complainted to the nightreceptionist he responded aggresively that "that s it. This is theroom that you have booked. There are no other room AVAILABLE".Anyway I got my room upgraded the day after since I was not happy withthe veiw (far from the cliff) and not safe for my son (as we had to passthe street to get to the restaurant and pool area. No pedstrain and carsdrive very fast)!

Review 33:Fantastic view.

Review 34:Wifi could be better.

Review 35:We loved the personalized service from the staff, they knew us by nameand even remembered some activities we had planned. They learned it wasmy husbands birthday and decorated our room and provided wine and cakefor a small fee. The views were breathtaking everywhere and at any timeof day. The greek night which is a night of greek dancing and platesmashing was also one of my favorites!

Review 36:I requested from the hotel a-pick up service from the ferry, for which I was charged 50 Eur. On the way back I called for a normal taxi and paid 15 Eur

Review 37:The hotel is beautiful in an impressive location

Review 38:The bed was a bit hard The toiletteries were of poor quality Access to the pool from our room was not possible without going out of the hotel on the street

Review 39:Great views of the caldera Nice restaurant and breakfast Beautiful pools

Review 40:Not a complaint. A bit far from the centre but they have shuttle every 2 hours. Last shuttle from the centre is 10:05pm. Would be nice to have 12midnight for those who'd want to stay late.

Review 41:Room, staff, nice view, breakfast

Review 42:I stayed for two nights by myself at the end of a group holiday, the staff were incredibly friendly and I was upgraded for free to a spectacular room with the most amazing caldera view for sunset. Slightly away from Fira but an easy shuttle bus ride or I hired a quad bike to get around the island.

Review 43:Mostly nothing I didn't like except for the bed was really stiff and hard. The room also had some hair on the floor but everything else was amazing!!

Review 44:The views were absolutely amazing. Every room has a beautiful view of the caldera and water. The buffet breakfast was so good and had a HUGE variety! The staff were excellent and very accommodating!

Review 45:The view from every level is stunning and is less then ten minutes drive from the town of Fira. A courtesy bus runs regularly from the hotel to Fira town or it will cost 7 euros in a taxi. The Front Office Manager, Tina, is an absolute delight as is her colleague and friend Zena. Two of the biggest assets to the Volcano View. The Guest Services Manager was able to recommend and organise a great night out for us in Kamari to watch the Champions League game on the big screen. The staff at the pool bar where also delightful. Mary and Dimitrious had a smile ready for you everyday.

Review 46:rude manager,we were 15 persons[icluding kids],booked 4 rooms.. we are striclty vegetarian, and also informed them... but nothing for us in breakfast accept fruit, juice and bread... too expensive hotel, but dont provide anything vegetarian.... fira town is quite far...almost 30 minutes walk...

Review 47:staff,extremely friendly especially tina, view and location excellent...

Review 48:The staff very friendly, the view is exactly what we were looking for, the room/spacious bathroom pool, breakfast, transfer to Fira. We had an amazing time

Review 49:Firstly, we loved the views. They were simply spectacular. Breakfast was excellent, a great variety of items to choose from. The members of staff were professional and helpful.

Review 50:1. A bit of more variety for lunch / dinner menu would have been better

Review 51:1. Staffs were very helpful and friendly 2. View from the room / balcony is amazing 3. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety and some Greek dishes as well

Review 52:No electric kettle in room for morning cup of tea or coffee...all hotels in India have is as a basic necessity

Review 53:The location, and the warm housekeeping staff

Review 54:Bed is hard and uncomfortable. The beddings/linens looks old and very used. I was expecting a comfortable bed and fluffy duvet at least for how it cost. The suite we were given was good but not cosy.

Review 55:The view is breathtaking. The staff are good. The location

Review 56:The hotel is not accessible for disabled people. No elevator, but staff helps with luggage. Anyway You have to overcome a lot of stairs. However I have to admit honestly, if You want to have wonderful view on Caldera on Santorini it is like that everywhere and You have to put up with it. . The rooms are small but very clean and with comfortable beds. Minus for bathrooms. Small, narrow, and if you want to take a shower, you could get a real flood.

Review 57:Very nice, polite and helpful staff at the reception desk. Wide range of dishes for breakfast. Beautiful view from the rooms on the caldera.

Review 58:However, the beds and bathroom, we don't like. The bathroom is really small and uncomfortable so that we required other room.

Review 59:The sea view is really nice and my friends and me all like it very much.

Review 60:The rooms are made in a traditional manner, so one has to climb a lot of stairs to reach the room... not fit for old couples ( but I believe thats the case with most of the hotels in the area as they are all made on the cliff) The bed were iron ones and could have been better...

Review 61:This place is between Fira and the port, so is basically a little far off from most of the attractions, but... WHAT A LOCATION..!! Just excellent... and the hotel, even better... lovely rooms, lovelier view of the sunset.. If you are on your honeymoon, there cannot be a better location than this.. and the sunset.. I must say, its better than what you see in Oia

Review 62:We arrived at 6am and the manager Tina organised us an early check in and upgraded our room free of charge. She also gave us a free breakfast that day. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Tina also assisted us with all the tourist attractions. Loved that the hotel has free shuttle service to/from fira. Exquisite breakfast. Breathtaking views. We will defiantly be back. Thank you so much for making my santorini dream a dream come true.

Review 63:Perishing cold at night in (mainly outdoor) restaurants in April (quellesurprise). Wifi was patchy. The mattress was hard, there are no controlson outside smoking.

Review 64:We woke up to a wonderful view of the Santorini caldera before sittingdown to a beautiful breakfast. Later, we sunbathed, took a handy butinfrequent shuttle bus into Thira or explored the island in our quitecheap hire car.

Review 65:Wifi was the biggest problem as didn't work too well in the room but I think they're fixing this.

Review 66:Caldera view rooms were superb. Reception and restaurant team were amazing...very helpful, friendly and always welcoming! Special thanks to Zenia (reception) for tips and things to do and restaurant recommendations in Santorini and Danai ( restaurant) for always being friendly and all smiles. All staff were great including the wonderful housekeeping team that had the room always immaculate. Shuttle bus to Fira centre was handy and great breakfast buffet!

Review 67:The wi-fi and Internet access were intermittent .

Review 68:The staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was recently renovated and beautiful. The views were stunning. The hotel is well maintained with beautiful pools. The breakfasts were amazing with variations each day. We had one lunch which was delicious.

Review 69:Weak wifi Facility in the room (small things such as no enough glasses, no curtain for shower) Shuttle Bus could be one or two times more in the morning/afternoon

Review 70:Very friendly staff Excellent View

Review 71:Location is a little far from the town center. Shuttle bus schedule could be a little more frequent.

Review 72:Great breakfast and view from rooms. Very friendly staff- front desk and restaurant.

Review 73:Great value for the money. Located a little out of town, so required to take a taxi or the free shuttle to and from activities (shuttle runs every 1.5 hrs). The staff is WONDERFUL and were always there to help fix issues or get you booked on tours! Great stay!

Review 74:for the size of the unit (very large) kitchen facilities ie ,cooking capabilty was limited -good, but a little below the superior standard of room

Review 75:everything we were upgraded to a luxury unit absolutely fantastic ,private pool, ,jacuzzi faultless !

Review 76:None

Review 77:Room was spacious and clean. Also view from the room was fantastic. Especially, Manager, Niko was extremely warm and friendly. My stay in Santorini was great because of this hotel.

Review 78:Loved everything, was perfect

Review 79:We we're actually transferred to The Volcano View sister hotel a couple of hundred yards along the road called Petite Palace, so my review is of that, and it was a beautiful location, all the staff we're superb, from when we arrived the reception staff we're attentive and very helpfull.the room was beautiful, clean and had a nice terrace. The views from the terrace are superb. breakfast was delicious, lots of choice, the restaurant staff were all very helpful, The hotel run a minibus to Fira every couple of hours, which is good, as walking can take around 25/30 mins, saying that it's a nice walk in the sun. Overall in the seven nights we stayed I would give the hotel and staff full marks.

Review 80:There is a little issue with ants in the room, nothing major but better get rid of it...the fruit salad at breakfast was a bit miserable....

Review 81:The facility/Breakfast/local knowledge from the hotel/friendly staff/breathtaking views

Review 82:I must say the only thing that I disliked was the hard mattress bed, not that comforting to sleep on.

Review 83:I loved the location, views and the relaxed atmosphere it was perfect and the shuttle bus service was an added bonus.

Review 84:there wasnt anything to dislike but if i had to be really picky i wish they had an actual swim up bar in the pool instead of a pool side bar.

Review 85:i loved everything about this hotel.

Review 86:The beds Were hard resulting in bad nights sleep but also the room was Florescent pink including pink leather bed!!

Review 87:The hotel has Lovely Views & pool. The staff were friendly & very helpful with all our enquiries. The Rooms were very clean and stocked well with kitchen appliances.

Review 88:Thus wasn't a 4 star from any angle!! The rooms were outdated, the mattress was very uncomfortable, the shower area in the bathroom was so small, that no adult can have a shower confortablr, the location was terrible, with nothing around the hotel., no electric kettle in the room, one horrible looking hot plate was there.. Seemed like really downmarket time share property . I booking had said that every stable red room will be upgraded to to superior room whic wasn't done,

Review 89:Yes the view is exceptional, but there is Nothing in the hotel except the view... breakfast too was pretty good, but that's about it...

Review 90:That we didn't book a longer stay! Shower stall door in our room could use an update, but this is a small detail compared to the many great things this place has to offer!

Review 91:The view of the Caldera is priceless!! Rooms were clean. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious - the best Greek yogurt I've ever tasted! If driving, you're minutes away from the centre of Fira. Every Thursday they have Greek entertainment (with plate smashing), that would be awesome to see, but we checked out that morning. Would definitely stay again!

Review 92:nothing to write on this box ;)

Review 93:everything was wonderful,, the location and the view and the swimming bool.. we were in our honeymoon and we had an amazing time at volcano view hotel .. my advice to everybody to stay there ;) and the dinner at caldera restaurant was an superb dinner ..

Review 94:Rooms are poor. There are poorly decorated and in need of refurbishment. Bathroom also poor

Review 95:The view is amazing Three great pools Good food Good pool bar

Review 96:The rooms and furniture get dusty mostly because of the strong wind which brought the dusts from the cliffs, so slippers must be worn at all times.

Review 97:We're a couple of friends who requested for sea view room. We were surprised they did give us what we asked for! We had the two storey unit facing the sea, thus perfect to watch sunset. They have cooking facilities. We were lucky to get the room, else, if they gave us the room at pool level, our breakfast everyday would consist of 3 storeys climb! The blond girl at the front desk was very friendly, pretty too, and the restaurant & housekeeping staffs were really friendly to all the guests. Made us feel welcomed. It's not on the cheap side this hotel but it was worth paying over €800 for 3 nights including breakfast. They gave us shuttle bus time table, so it was easy to get to Fira town. Restaurants are many in the town, so just make your choice.

Review 98:The food service needs review on quality, logistics e.g. coffee machine with pc for cream held up the line and food was left out in very large containers. Buffet dinners should be double sided to move guest through quickly. Simple amenities would make a difference like conditioner, wash clothes and more towels. Showers need attention - sprayed all over the bath and difficult to maintain water from getting all over.

Review 99:The staff was very friendly especially the front desk team.

Review 100:Transfer to the beaches is difficult as you'll have to catch the bus either from the main town or from a bus stop 300m away from the hotel-unless you rent a car, going for your daily swimming can be quite a challenge.

Review 101:Transfer provided by hotel shuttle to the town of Fyra throughout the day. Amazing views, rich breakfast, greek hospitality from every single member of the staff.

Review 102:Our experience with the family suites was awful. I would not recommend these rooms at all. They are not updated, the noise from the road traffic woke us up many times in the night. There is one small AC unit to cool both floors so the lower level was hot. You do not get the same amenities as the other rooms. You do not feel as though you are part of the hotel. If you are travelling with your family I would recommend renting two rooms instead.

Review 103:The view from the hotel was incredible! Our rooms the second night were very nice. The pool was relaxing and in a great location. The restaurant staff was great! Definitely try to be there on a Thursday during the Greek Tradition Dinner. The food and dancing were worth it. The staff after our initial issues ended up being great. They helped us to find a rental vehicle that fits 7 which is hard to find.

Review 104:The decoration of the rooms, the lobby and the restaurant were very outdated. They looked like they were from the 80s.

Review 105:The views of the hotel was incredible.

Review 106:internet was not working we had a junior suite. This was a very small room with approx. 4m2 extra for a desk and a chair. there are 3 pools however they are very small and there are far too few deck chairs for all the guests. All in all the hotel is very basic.

Review 107:staff very friendly

Review 108:Every second of our stay was amazing and to treasure for life! The hotel was excellent and facilities first class Staff were attentative to all our needs (family of 5 plus two elderly. Totall 7) The view was postcard material and pools (3) ever so clean and refreshing The hotel resturant was better than any resturant on santorini.... Speak with Kosta, he is the man !! And great staff I can go on... But booking.com don't have enough text to continue. Summary. Must do and must place to stay at Ps. Romio (aka Lucas) says high to all staff at hotel :) an will return to work there !!! :)

Review 109:No elevator.......

Review 110:Unique location,a very good hospitality, kind attention by staffs, especially the manager Mr."Nick Dinos".Which did his best for us.

Review 111:Staying at the Volcano View Villas was an amazing experience. The private pool was outstanding and the accomodations were first class. But the best thing about the Villas is Nikos. He is the host with the most, the most outstanding manager and concierge I have ever experienced. There is nothing he cannot do for you or have arranged for you. He drove us when we could have taken taxis, he arranged trips and tours, ATV's, and made reservations at restaurants we would have never found on our own. His Assistant, Sippi, is outstanding as well. Having breakfast served by the pool each day was such a treat! I have told everyone I know that you cannot go to Santorini and not stay at Volcano View Villas. Nikos will insure you have the best vacation of your life!!

Review 112:Not an issue for us but could be a problem for some others with the many stairs.

Review 113:Spectacular views, great breakfasts, shuttle bus to town.

Review 114:Guests reserving sun loungers at crazy o'clock in the morning.

Review 115:Staff were fantastic Views amazing Peaceful

Review 116:Room cleaning could be better

Review 117:Stunning views, very friendly staff and great food

Review 118:Wifi was very poor. It was almost impossible to access in some areas.

Review 119:All the staff was very friendly. Always willing to help.

Review 120:Amazing sunset views from our room. Quiet location.

Review 121:wonderful caldera views. nice clean modern room. pleasant and helpful staff.

Review 122:Tons of stairs, bed was older and hard.

Review 123:Location was perfect.

Review 124:All good

Review 125:Fantastic. Great view and great room

Review 126:The candle night dinner

Review 127:The view

Review 128:Too many steps.

Review 129:Location and the appearance of the Hotel was beautiful.

Review 130:Noisy cleaners in the morning

Review 131:Everything! Tina at the hotel was the best help and resource for all our needs.
