Reviews for Awel Mor

Review 1:All good, nothing we didn't like. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 2:Lovely comfortable room, with a fantastic view. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

Review 3:Absolutely nothing.

Review 4:An amazing Bed and Breakfast. Second time at Awel Mor and loved every minute. Stayed in the deluxe double room with sea view and must say what a stunning view!!! If lucky you can see dolphins or seals within the bay. The room was very clean, smelt fresh and very tidy. The staff always make you feel welcome on arrival and make every effort to ensure that every expectation is met. Both Martin and Judith are professional with a touch of good humour. The local area has a good range of pubs, attractions, walks, shops and not to mention scenery. Criccieth is a good central location if you want to visit the neighbouring towns and villages along the coast, whether you want to travel by car or nip along to the station and catch the train and enjoy the spectacular views throughout the journey. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a pleasant weekend away by the sea or a long week walking in and around Snowdonia then Awel Mor is perfect!

Review 5:Tiny shower room, would have liked a bath when staying 4 nights. Would stay again but only if sea view room was available.

Review 6:Location was perfect. Breakfast was perfect and Judith was pleasant and very helpful.

Review 7:Everything was nice. Wi fi connection in the room wasn;t very good but it was not an issue for us as we didnt spend much time in the room.

Review 8:Owners are very nice couple. The hotel is very very tidy and has a nice atmosphere. Close to the sea, so make sure you get a sea view(if available). Breakfast is very nice and is plenty of food for any taste. About 10 min walking from downtown which is nice because it is not noisy. This was one of the best 3 star hotel we've stayed.

Review 9:The wifi worked amazingly one night and hardly at all the other nights... a tiny issue though and not a problem for us.

Review 10:Loved it, very likable staff. Highly recommended, will stay again if we are in the area.

Review 11:The weather but who can control that?

Review 12:Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing and really good value and the whole house was spotless.

Review 13:The TV was very small and you had to get very close to be able to read the channels etc. Sadly the view out the back of the guest house was not very inspiring but that's just a fact of life.

Review 14:Hosts were so friendly, Martin even brought my heavy case up to the second floor. Breakfast was very accommodating, even when a guest asked for half a sausage!......lol

Review 15:Unfortunately the wifi was very hit and miss, usually miss apparently due to the fire escape causing problems with reception.

Review 16:The owner was congenial and very helpful. We found that the breakfast was excellent, a wide range of cereals, plenty of fresh fruit and yogurts and the cooked english breakfast was cooked to each person's requirements. A choice of bread for toast and spreads. Beds were comfortable with a choice of summer or winter duvets and the shower was hot and plentiful but a bit noisy. Towels were large.

Review 17:There was nothing we did not like.

Review 18:The friendliness of Julie and Martin and the wonderful service we received It is a fantastic b and b and would always stay there when visiting Criccieth anytime.

Review 19:Would have preferred a dispenser for shower/shampoo gell as Sachets were very difficult to open!

Review 20:Very welcoming owners excellent food, good location

Review 21:The room is too small to be classed as a twin (single only) Toilet seat loose. No chair in room.Wifi did not work .Only one light at one end of bed.Shower too small,I could not get in.The room is in attic three flights of stairs up,We did not stay any longer, one night was enough. We moved to a better B&B. Forfieting two nights money.( £140.00 ) .Discription given by you did not mension 3 flights of stairs, smallnest of room

Review 22:The location of the B&B building is perfect

Review 23:I could not get the wi-fi to work in the room or lounge, but in fairness I did not mention this at the time.

Review 24:Very friendly welcoming with best breakfast on our 4 week trip exceptional mushrooms

Review 25:Martin and his wife are absolute champions. Really very friendly people and made us feel welcome from the outset. Lots of local knowledge and advice and a great brekky in the morning! No worries at all with these guys! Thanks again!!!

Review 26:Nothing.

Review 27:Two wonderful people Martin and Judith helped us in every way they could. Room was very comfortable and stocked with plenty of tea and coffee. I even had my Soya milk in our bedroom. Breakfast was quality!! Hotel is at the seafront and 2 minutes away from the local shops. You wont be disappointed!

Review 28:Everything was excellent - the room was spacious and spotless with a comfy sofa and tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The seaview from the room was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely and filling. Martin and Judith are excellent hosts, very warm and friendly.

Review 29:The only downside was our room couldn't get Wifi, but maybe it turned into a plus because it gave us a chance to really switch off . We could always go into the guest lounge to log on if we wanted to.

Review 30:My sister and I stayed for five nights ,and even though we weren't lucky enough to have a sea view the one form the rear bedroom was still pleasant . The hosts were very welcoming and Martin was never to busy for a quick chat . The breakfasts were delicious and more than enough for big appetites. The beds were very comfortable ,and the room was nice .

Review 31:It was a bit cold in the room as it only had an old electric radiator on the wall, the room was a bit old fashioned and the hot water in the bath room a bit difficult to regulate.

Review 32:The hotel is in a perfect location, just next to the sea. The room is well equipped, the owner was very kind and the breakfast felt like a big family gathering with all other guests, in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Review 33:£476.00 for seven nights is an appalling amount for the tiny room up three flights of high stairs.. with a view of dustbins.. no chairs to sit on.. only the bed.. would not stay there again.. Police were called due to noise in the next room.. we couldn't wait to leave.... Very disappointing..

Review 34:Nothing about the property.. the owners were friendly and helped us find alternative accomodation which we thoroughly enjoyed.. grateful to them for their help....

Review 35:Owned by a really lovely couple, very warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Lovely warm and comfortable rooms, beautiful views over the sea.

Review 36:We had an en suite room with sea view which had everything you could need for a short stay, including a comfy sofa. Excellent information pack including all the places to eat out in Criccieth. Martin and Judith are very friendly and informative about the area. Breakfast was excellent!

Review 37:Absolutely nothing to complain about

Review 38:The hotel's in a beautiful, peaceful location on the seafront. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. This was our second visit and we are planning to return, possibly with our grandchildren

Review 39:Judith and Martin are perfect proprietors they made us feel welcome were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and did an excellent breakfast. The perfect base to travel around North Wales

Review 40:We booked the last available room which meant climbing 3 flights of stairs. Not ideal for people of our advanced years. Owner very helpful though in carrying our bags up.

Review 41:Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful owner. Ideal location.

Review 42:Hosts so welcoming and friendly, Lovely and clean and homely. Breakfast excellent. Would highly recommend Awel Mor and will definitely be going back.

Review 43:Everything. It was a great place, the ocean right outside my door. Judith and Martin were great hosts and even picked wild blackberries to serve with breakfast. Criccieth Castle was right up the road, you could see it as soon as you walked out the front door.

Review 44:We enjoyed the breakfast and the friendliness of the owners. The location of the Guess House and the many places to visit. Local shops were excellent.

Review 45:Faultless

Review 46:Great sea views Large bedroom with everything you'd want in a B&B, very comfortable bed Plenty of free on-street parking Friendliness of hosts and efficiency of check-in and check-out Quality and choice of breakfast

Review 47:Parking could be a problem sometimes.

Review 48:Good quality breakfasts. Very nice, pleasant owners who went out of their way to give help and advice about the area.

Review 49:Location - right on the seafront Breakfast - tasty and plentiful Room - clean, tidy, perfectly adequate. Only had a twin bedded room available when we booked Owners - friendly and very helpful

Review 50:A good filling breakfast, a nice bed to sleep in, and a very good power shower the white towels and bedding were very white crisp and clean. we will be going back . thank you for making us so welcome. Sally & Dave Hopkins

Review 51:The location was brilliant - right on the seafront. The owner was lovely and told us which sights to see in the area. The breakfast the next morning was also wonderful. Highly recommended :)

Review 52:Everything was great for us, but if you find stairs a problem, then having a room on the top floor, as we did, could be a challenge :-)

Review 53:We were late arriving at Awel Mor but received a very warm welcome and there was lots of banter which made us feel right at home. Martin gave us a thorough run through of the accommodation and was really helpful. The b&b is in a great location on the seafront and within easy reach of the castle. The breakfast was lovely too!

Review 54:Not a thing to complain about loved it all

Review 55:Everything was exactly how we expected it. Martin was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and fresh with loads of tea coffee milk and sugar. The breakfast was on a par with a five star hotel Fresh fruit bowl,Juices,Cereals. The full breakfast certainly set me up for the day, everything was very well presented. Will be booking early next time to get a sea view room. All in all 5 stars.

Review 56:Our big problem was because the weather was warm we wanted to open windows and in the bedroom there was only one small fanlight window which could be opened. This was just not enough and the room felt instantly stuffy as we walked in and we certainly would not have had two good night's sleep. We asked for a fan which the owners provided. However we do feel it is rather odd to have only one small opening window in a fairly large room, and although we appreciate that we were on the third floor and there may be a safety issue, it would have been much more comfortable to have all three fanlights opening on the bay window. We suspect nothing will be done about this though.

Review 57:The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast very tasty. The view from our window was fantastic, especially good as the weather was so pleasant. Awel Mor was also well positioned for getting out and seeing lots of places in North Wales.

Review 58:The stairs up to the second floor. I don't remember being able to request a bedroom on a lower floor on the website.

Review 59:The friendliness of the owners, their knowledge of the area where to go, eating out etc. The nicely cooked breakfast and a good choice of cereal and fruit.

Review 60:my only complaint was the cushion on the bed smelt of a dirty greasy head

Review 61:It was most enjoyable, very good , caring couple, lovely breakfast, lovely towels. yes we would recomend this place to any of our friends

Review 62:A little more information about facilities - eg wi-fi - but realistically we only had to ask. Sadly the poached eggs left a little to be desired - usually our holiday treat - but that's being picky.

Review 63:Spacious, quiet and comfortable room and welcoming owners. The accommodation was better than offered in a nearby hotel that we've used before. The fruit salad at breakfast surpassed that served in many hotels.

Review 64:A bar of soap and couple of those little 'hotel' bottles of shampoo would have been helpful. The three sachets of liquid soap lasted for about three hand washes. We guessed this was maybe forgotten though, as there was a soap dish.

Review 65:Everything was fantastic thanks and we would highly recommend. Owners were lovely and we felt really at home. Would be our first choice next time!

Review 66:Lovely clean excellent food. Owners lovely and friendly. Fantastic setting and outlook.

Review 70:Perhaps a couple of more power points would help

Review 71:Friendly owners Great breakfast tidy room we had a nice view of the sea

Review 72:Being able to borrow laminated map of the mountains was particularly useful.

Review 73:Pity the bar was not open for a bed time tipple.
