Reviews for Parkstone Hotel

Review 1:The staff were very friendly and accommodating which for a solo traveller is very comforting. Oldy worldly hotel located about 10 minutes from the airport. I booked this through bookings dot com which stated they had a shuttle service. THEY DO NOT and the new owners have tried to alter this so no blame to the hotel. I received a taxi free of charge, no fuss no argument.

Review 2:Manager very good looking after an elderly couple making it easy for us to access our room. Kitchen staff most helpful at meals to cater for a diabetic guest. Most pleasant

Review 3:This is definitely the best hotel in Prestwick and I love what the new owners are doing to the hotel. Everybody associated with The Parkstone are excellent in their own way and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Review 4:Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing. Food wasn't very warm but staff serving were very pleasant. Large dining room was to rear of hotel and with just a few guests, there was no atmosphere or views. Would have preferred to eat in same room as we had dinner the night before.

Review 5:Friendly and helpful staff. Great views and outdoor space. Lovely room with great views of the sunset.Dinner was lovely. Staff even surprised us with a bottle of chilled Prosecco for my husband's birthday.

Review 6:No WiFi in room. Very slow breakfast service, especially on the second day with some guests having to leave without eating despite being in the restaurant first thing. Mine took 45 mins from order, thankfully I was able to delay my departure.

Review 7:Location, excellent dinner menu with wide choice of dishes.

Review 8:Cooked breakfast was overcooked an had been sitting under a hot plate . Bacon black pudding and sausages hard and dried up .

Review 9:Location great . We were eating at another restaurant in the evening. Clean hotel . A bit dated .

Review 10:Staff left me sitting at breakfast for over five minutes without takingan order, food was poor when it did arrive. When checking out I had towait over five minutes because the receptionist was having a"ciggy" rather han doing his job. Bed was uncomfortable, roomwas dirty. Other hotels in this area charge the same price and provide abrilliant servoce compared to this place.

Review 11:Wifi was quick. That is it!!!!

Review 12:I was disappointed that their was no free Wi-Fi connection in your room, but you could get it at the reception area, not all users likes to sit in a reception but prefair to relax even if its in your own room

Review 13:I enjoyed my stay and would come back again hotel, staff and location first class,I even enjoyed the evening meal I had and the breakfast the next day, plenty of choices to choose from.I had a room to the back of the hotel but would have liked it to the front where you have a fantastic view over the sea maybe next time?

Review 14:Bathroom in the room we had could do with a bit of an update. Hose connecting the shower head was leaking and there was mould around the bath and mildew along the bottom of the shower screen

Review 15:Narrow Corridors and stairs in front of doors health and safety. Odd shaped bedrooms also could hear everyone's voices passing by.

Review 16:Smiley friendly staff

Review 17:Our room was right at the top, and we where not told it is not good for people with walking problems. I have arthritis in my knees so it would have been good to know this and maybe pick another hotel.

Review 18:I have never had a bad experience at the Parkstone Hotel, since the first time I was in the facility in 1962.

Review 19:Your staff and employees have always gone out of the ways to make my stays the best possible.

Review 20:Everything in the hotel functioned but is lacked spark the room was small and basic in need of decoration in fact the whole place needed a refit having stopped recently in local B&B establishments they offer better facilities and value.

Review 21:Location

Review 22:The wifi did not work in our room, the décor was very dated and the bed was very uncomfortable and worn. the bar and food prices are very much 4star, yet the quality and environment are just about 3star! the bar and restaurant were empty on a Friday night - which speaks volumes.

Review 23:lovely quiet location, with great sea views. staff were helpful and polite

Review 24:The bed was a little hard for ourselves but this is not a complaint, just that we are used to a softer mattress.

Review 25:Upon arrival and throughout our stay everyone we met were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely room with a sea view which we loved.

Review 26:The room we were put into was not the best. If i had a choice it would not have been that one. Too small . Dark . Front facing ground floor facing carpark. Tv was the smallest ive ever seen in any hotel in 10 years.

Review 27:The location and relaxation was perfect. Staff were friendly and polite. Restaraunt is brilliant food top quality.

Review 28:The bathroom door kept jamming so kept getting stuck in bathroom - bar was not well stalked the draught beer was disgusting the cooked breakfast was disgusting all you could taste was grease

Review 29:sea view

Review 30:I had mistakenly booked a SINGLE room. my fault no-one else. the Gentleman at reception, however fixed us up with an excellent room with sea view. many thanks. Would certainly come back . Gordon Galloway Cumbernauld

Review 31:Bedroom was small and a relatively large chair tended to block access to the wardrobe. The window appeared blown and badly sandblasted and the opening section is high and difficult to reach. Kettle is too big to go under the cold tap. Having filled it you lose most of the water getting it out. No lift/

Review 32:A pleasant well located hotel with a split personality. The ground floor is well furnished and aspires to 4 star status.. Upstairs is barely three with reasonably priced but fairly basic rooms. The restaurant is well equipped and the food quality is good but expensive for what is a modest hotel. Likewise drinks are 4 star priced in what is really a 3 star hotel.

Review 33:The staff attitude , the breakfast , the room , in fact one of the worsthotels I've stayed in and that's saying something I cut myselfon a britvic bottle at breakfast time and got a couple if sarcasticcomments from the grumpy unhelpful staff never again

Review 34:Leaving

Review 35:Quite noisy in bedroom in the very early morning as the many golfers who stay at the hotel leave the bar to retire & thump past your bedroom. Restaurant is quite expensive for evening meals though there are plenty of eating choices in Prestwick town.

Review 36:View from bedroom was fantastic overlooking Isle of Arran & Heads of Ayr. Breakfast was good. Prestwick has lots of good value eating places & there are many interesting places nearby like Ayr, Largs, Glasgow for great shopping.

Review 37:Food in the restaurant was overpriced.

Review 38:Great location on the sea front, lovely views to Arran. Plenty of parking. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well decorated. Friendly, helpful staff. Great transport links into Glasgow.

Review 39:Not many nice eating places in town had to travel quite away to find a good pub with good food

Review 40:Close to railway station so it was really easy to get to Glasgow. recommend The Ship Inn for good pub grub!

Review 41:No complaints.

Review 42:Friendly staff. Good access to beach, railway station and road network. Bar open late which was good when we arrived back from the Commonwealth Games.

Review 43:Nothing to dislike - we would certainly go again

Review 44:Service superb Food excellent in terms of choice and quality Location excellent for train service to Glasgow Very friendly staff Room comfortable and clean

Review 45:Location, breakfast and comfy beds as well as attentative staff. Parked car here for 2 weeks to fly from Prestwick and it only cost £40 more than it would for parking only at the airport.

Review 46:I wish there was a lift as getting the luggage up the stairs was a bit difficult. Also, I did not like the switch on electric shower.

Review 47:We chose the Parkstone for its proximity to Prestwick airport. The bonus was the location on the beach and the pretty garden. The breakfast is included and it is excellent in a pleasant dining room.

Review 48:The service at breakfast, wasn't girls fault, lack of help I think waited over half hour to be served& had ran out of black pudding when finally served. That apart girls were nice just shame about wait:-(

Review 49:Room with a view, cleanliness& location.

Review 50:The toast: It was hardly toasted and we had to ask for it to be redone. They did of course and without dissent, but it was the fact that we had to complain.

Review 51:Pleasant and peaceful surroundings with easy access to the hotel and attentive staff. Rooms were clean and well appointed and the food was well cooked.

Review 52:The bedroom was absolutely roasting hot on arrival. Also, under the beds in the bedroom was absolutely filthy and clearly hadn't been hoovered for a long time. In the double bed there was a long black hair between the sheets. The bathroom cleanliness was passable however around the bottom of the window was in need of a good clean. When we went for breakfast in the morning, the table was well presented, however there was old food and crumbs all over the floor giving the impression the floor hadn't been hoovered since previous service.

Review 53:The position of the hotel was fantastic, a very short stroll to a lovely beach. On the whole the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 54:drinks were a bit pricey

Review 55:We were there attending a family wedding and they were very professional, making the whole event run smoothly, yet very welcoming and friendly. A good balance. It is only a stones throw from a lovely beach.

Review 56:Staff very helpful and friendly, it was a family get together and celebration and although the hotel was busy that night nothing was a bother.
