Reviews for Relais du Silence Le Val Baussenc

Review 1:Nearby farm meant flies in the rooms, especially in the breakfast/dining room. Also, pool was out of commission because it was being changed - even though the hotel was closing for the season in three weeks.

Review 2:Area, climate, impressive building, staff ranging from good to excellent

Review 3:the restaurant which was open only on certain days [apparently mid september is after the season] the menu was fixed meal and rather pricey and again problem with the translation to English we ate the next evening in the village a much better meal at a much lower cost

Review 4:the hotel was in an excellent position and extremely quiet ,the staff were helpful but lacked sufficient knowledge in english

Review 5:Lovely Hotel, Quiet and relaxing, very good accommodation. Val Baussenc is a perfect base to discover the surrounding area's nature, culture and history.

Review 6:The room was not ready when we arrived in the late afternoon and, although, apologetic, the concierge did not offer anything to major us more comfortable while we waited 1.5 hours for our room to be cleaned.

Review 7:Great facilities adjacent to lovely town.

Review 8:Friendly staff, nice dinner and breakfast, beautiful setting.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 11:Smell in toilet, interior decoration is not very suited for that region.

Review 12:A lot of space around the house, easy if your have a dog. Good food.

Review 13:Nothing!!

Review 14:Lovely pool area.very comfortable room. Friendly staff and excellent food. Overall great value for money for a most enjoyable stay.

Review 15:Very charming hotel in the middle of the Alpilles. A great place for an authentic Provence experience.

Review 16:Not supporting rails to get in the pool - this really upset us. Not offered help with baggage

Review 17:Totally quiet at night. The garden. The food, especially breakfast. Very comfortable bed.

Review 18:It was a full hotel for the holiday weekend. The couple next door smoked and so we had to close up when they were outdoors on their deck. Also, they stayed on their deck until 11pm drinking for 2 nights.

Review 19:Peaceful setting, beautiful landscàpe, loved having a balcony to sit on. Staff very kind and helpful. We only speak English and there was always someone to help us. Location is wonderful for walking into town and seeing sights. Bed was very comfortable and king size. It appeared a lot was remodeled recently so very clean and bright. Pool and area were fantastic with hardly anyone using them.

Review 20:Flies...rooms need screens to allow wonderful breezes. Slippery tub.

Review 21:Lovely setting and a charming small Provincial town. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 22:breakfasts dissappointing, they try to give something for eveyone instead of a limited range of higher quality. poor fruit salad, no fresh fruit and mainly just french bread. not nearly as good as dinner.

Review 23:great hotel with good facilities, lovely grounds and pool area. all rooms have a terrace which is very nice. pleasant staff.dinners were great and excellent value.

Review 24:Nothing. We definitely recommend this hotel to those plan to come to this area. And who would miss out Les Baux?

Review 25:1. Helpful and friendly staff. 2. Location is so close to Les Baux de Provence and can access easily to nearby towns. 3. Nicely decorated rooms, lots of rest and reading area, big garden and swimming pool. And loads of parking. 4. Gotta mention its restaurant. We had both dinner and breaky in the hotel and it was so delicious and value-for-money. Definitely recommend to others. No need to scratch head for dinner venue.

Review 26:Nothing to dislike. Excellent.

Review 27:Clean, comfortable and friendly and situated on the edge of the small but vibrant town of Maussane-les-Alpilles which has plenty of restaurants and bars. But why stray from Val Baussenc to eat? The food is excellent and reasonably priced. My husband couldn't get away from the bull steaks which almost melted in the mouth! I would definitely go back to this quiet, relaxing relais de silence. If you like biking and walking it's a great place to base in Provence. We just enjoyed relaxing in the gardens by the pool with our books.

Review 28:The senior staff is reserved towards foreign guests

Review 29:Nice swimming pool, quiet location, young staff was very friendly, diner was excellent, breakfast good, nearby a lot to see (Les Baux, Hospice Saint-Paul where Vincent van Gogh stayed)

Review 32:A shower curtain along the side of the bath would have been animprovement - but the bathroom area was spacious and otherwise well-appointed.

Review 33:A lovely ambience throughout. Dining on the terrace in the eveningproved most enjoyable. One of the most impressive features however wasthe spacious bedroom and the secluded patio area outside. An excellenthotel - attractively furnished and in lovely grounds in a peaceful ruralsetting on the edge of the village.

Review 34:Extremely pleasant and friendly staff, wonderful countryside setting, large room with terrace, close to Beaux de Provence, Arles etc. The foodat the restaurant was very good and the price was more than reasonable. We will certainly come back for a longer stay!
