Reviews for Hôtel Helvie - Chateaux et Hotels Collection

Review 1:Very noisy in street-side rooms deceptively busy little spa town. Road by hotel a bit of a rat-run and no double-glazing. When Michelin star resto opens in evening hotel visitors are second-rate.Two members of staff particularly unpleasant and unhelpful which sadly lets down the rest who are super.

Review 2:Town itself twee and agreeable if you don't understand the locals! Upgraded swiftly whilst room problems dealt with.

Review 3:Fantastic helpful english speaking reception, who took us up to our room and then gave us a fanastic run down of the things to do and see in Vals le Bain. Made us feel right at home from the start. Lovely pool and wow the restauarant absolutely fantastic!!

Review 4:Only minus were the beds, which are a bit too hard for Scandinavians.

Review 5:Friendly and helpful staff, fantastic and reasonably priced restaurant (has a star in guide Michelin) came as an unexpected bonus, also breakfast was exceptional. We had a cosy room in a traditional french style. There is a small hotel pool but also a large public pool very close.

Review 6:To my way of thinking two single beds shoved together is not acceptable when you pay extra for a "deluxe double". The restaurant is a bit pretentious (though delicious) and the wine list is huge and exorbitant. Everything is served on bits of slate instead of a plate. Grrrrr.

Review 7:A nice old fashioned spa town hotel friendly welcome from overworked staff. Nicely decorated Large room with two balconies and lots of light good soundproofing. Restaurant is good.

Review 8:nothing !

Review 9:welcoming, staff , location, top restaurant-cuisine, facility

Review 10:Nothing as our booking had been lost by the hotel. So we had no where to stay.

Review 11:There is nothing about this hotel that you could really dislike. Ouronly negative comments are that the room and bathrom were more suited toa standard room than a superior. The bathroom was small and the showerwas over the bath and had a leaky hose, which mean't a big moppingup job was needed after each shower. The hotel prides itself on it'sRestaurant and has an impressive menu, but was extremely expensive, sowe ate out, which was rather a shame. My husband is a plain vegetarianbut the menu didn't cater for vegetarians.

Review 12:The staff at The Helvie, were friendly and extremely helpful. The youngmale Receptionist had a good understanding of English, making check ineasy and relaxed. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome andensured we understood the Restaurant opening times etc. where it was andwhere breakfast would be served the following morning. He upgraded us toa superior room, which was very nice, but not really luxurious. The roomwas not large, but was nicely furnished and clean with a comfortablebed. Breakfast the following morning was very good and well managed. TheBreakfast Manageress, spoke excellent English was very friendly andagain was keen to help in anyway possible.
