Reviews for Premier Inn Loughborough
Review 1:Easy check in no fuss after a long day. Nice clean hotel with happy staff even though they were working Christmas day! Good selection of food to suit all tastes for breakfast
Review 2:SEE ABOVE
Review 3:WE HAD GREAT SLEEP ON 1ST NIGHT BUT 2ND WAS TOO HOT AND WE HAD A POOR NIGHTS SLEEP, WE CUDN'T WORK THE AIR CONDITIONING, TRIED TO GET OUR MONEY BACK ON WEBSITE BUT OBLY FOR 1 NIGHT BUT NO LUCK WE STAYED 26 N 27 DEC 2015
Review 4:Not having car park attached. Room not cleaned during 2 night stay and no soap in bathroom dispenser or replacement teas coffees provided
Review 5:Friendly welcome and staff eager to help
Review 6:No free parkin, but I was aware of that upon booking. However there was cheap parking across the road.
Review 7:The staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much.
Review 8:This was perfect as we are a family of 4 and could stay comfortably in one room. Nice duvets, WiFi and a good TV for the kids, my 9 year old even brought his xbox and could game online! The breakfast was great, the kids eat for free and loved the food, though they did moan about no hit chocolate! Location was excellent, central but not noisey. The staff were friendly. It was very good value and after never staying in a premier inn (we live in Malta) my wife stayed in one in Southampton, and I have booked Loughborough again for the end of this month. The kids who love to complain enjoyed it, as it was minutes walk away from the cinema and MacDonald's!
Review 9:Real downside was no parking, which came as a bit of a shock to us when we checked in. I understand that the Council will not let Premier Inn have the car park next door but at least you could issue vouchers for the multi storey opposite and include it in the room rate...
Review 10:The rate was average; I've often paid less for a Premier Inn in a similar area - but I only booked 2 weeks in advance this time
Review 11:Good sized rooms. Varied breakfast (including earl grey tea unlike Melton Mowbray Premier inn!!)
Review 12:The Shower was over the bath would have liked it separate and the toilet paper was not very soft haha
Review 13:Very comfy bed had a great nights sleep with the help of blackout curtains. There was a fair just outside the hotel and we could not hear it all all ?
Review 14:When we arrived at the hotel they could not find our booking and we had to pay for the room for the 2 nights its a good job they had rooms or we would have been stranded I find this a little u unprofessional as the room was booked on the 4th October I had evidence of my booking including reference number but there was no evidence the booking was made on their computer system
Review 15:We were made to feel welcome and allthe staff were pleasant and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep in an extremely comfortable bed.
Review 16:Not a criticsm of the hotel, but a warning! There is no parking at the hotel, but two public car parks - one opposite, and a multistorey also. Parking in the car park opposite is not recommended - you have to pay up to midnight, then it is free, but then you have to pay again from 6am, and they will give you a ticket by 6:30. Be warned!!
Review 17:stayed in a room for 3 - with a double bed and a single. The former was big and comfy as per all the adverts, the single was not - just a small "put you up" type bed. Restaurant was adequate for dinner and breakfast, though dinner service was very slow.
Review 18:It is at the side of a police station. Sometimes it is noisy when the alarming police cars passing by.
Review 19:Generally good. Just a few minutes walking to the town city. An extra bed for child without extra cost.
Review 20:bar and restaurant on the ground floor, with the 2 for 1 ,you can get any person off the street..some are not what familys want with there kids around.
Review 21:not too far away from station,or town, same as other premier, which i like.
Review 22:There is no free car park. However, the nearby long-stay is not particularly expensive.
Review 23:The staff were fantastic, really friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.
Review 24:I can imagine parking would be an issue for some of staying more than one night. It was £5.50 for us
Review 25:Staff were really friendly. Youngest child is dairy free and they were more than happy to supply as much soya milk as I needed. No travel cot up when we got there but it wasn't a problem for them.
Review 26:The bar closing at 11am, late arriving be nice to be able to get a alcoholic drinks, breakfast choice was excellent but food never hot
Review 27:The staff, the beds liked them so much I have ordered 1
Review 28:Pleasantly surprised! Good size room, with comfortable bed & clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were extremely helpful and polite.
Review 29:One of the reception staff was not friendly and did not seem to be approachable. The reception was not manned most of the time when we were in that area, and a staff came out after some time after the button was pressed.
Review 30:The staff - all very friendly and efficient. We were very well looked after and the night staff on duty on 18th couldn't have been more helpful when we got back late and needed to order something to eat - 10/10.
Review 31:Staff provided excellent customer service. We was at a wedding all day so was worried about checking in at midnight. Called up and advised that wouldn't be a problem at all and put a note on the computer to advise the night shift staff.
Review 32:The bar closes too early!
Review 33:We have stayed here several times. It is always spotless, great value for money and the staff could not be nicer or more helpful. They are a first class example of how every hotel should be. Highly recommended.
Review 34:We loved everything!
Review 35:The staff are excellent, the hotel is extremely clean, and the restaurant is fantastic! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Loughborough town centre.
Review 36:Someone working there walked in the room in the morning before check out time. Not enough bath towels. Radio channel on tv didn't work.
Review 37:Bed comfort
Review 38:Bar closing at 11pm on Fri/Sat. No reception as such had to go looking for some one. Bar food from the kitchen whilst good it took an hour to reach our table although we did get a refund.
Review 39:General Location
Review 40:Only one down remark. The system of hand written bookings in the diary for early morning calls did not really work. We arranged for a 4am call it came eventually about 20 min's late as they had not seen the note.
Review 41:Good location and fair priced car parking close by. Great staff and very clean and comfortable hotel.
Review 42:It was all good. Staff always smiling and happy to help. Plenty to eat at breakfast, nicely laid out. One of the best Premier Inns we have stayed at. Well done
Review 43:experience completely ruined by a male member of staff during breakfast who was completely rude and unhelpful. He felt it was acceptable to also try and charge me over £8 for my daughter to have a bowl of cereal and one hash brown because I wasn't eating therefore my daughter didn't eat free. Absolutely unacceptable price!!
Review 44:Nice welcome clean and comfortable
Review 45:Friendly welcoming staff who showed an interest in my visit, good sized quiet room with everything I needed, an excellent place, would recommend and stay again.
Review 46:Family group arrived just before 2 pm for a family wedding, rooms were not ready - very disappointed. I had phoned 2 days before and explained wedding times. Staff did try to do their best but delay caused lateness to wedding.
Review 47:Nothing seemed to be too much for staff. Very good service.
Review 48:Was mis-informed by new staff and this left us with no room and a place to stay the following evening. We literally had just 30minutes to pack and leave. A terrible experience!!!!
Review 49:Place was comfortable, people were okay. Breakfast wasn't bad.
Review 50:we find the lack of parking is a nuisance and adds extra cost to the stay.
Review 51:my husband is paraphlegic so we need an accesible rooms. The ones at this hotel are roomy and pleasant and ideal for our purposes. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Review 52:The hotel room was comfortable and spacious, which was very handy as we travelled with a young baby, and so had a lot of extra luggage with us. The staff were kind and helpful. Great town centre location.
Review 53:The buffet breakfast was awful for £8.95 it was cold & had been obviously sat there for a long time. You couldn't even break the yoke in the egg it was so hard & dry. The bacon looked raw and fatty not as described in breakfast menu, grilled crisp bacon. We ate out on the second day. Hotel loss
Review 54:The staff were lovely, helpful & friendly, nothing was to much trouble. We travelled with a disabled person & the staff exceeded our expectations
Review 55:The only thing was the cleaning chemicals were too strong- But the hotel was spotless-
Review 56:I booked then all my family from Ireland booked in for a wedding-we enjoyed the hotel and restaurant-The location was perfect for shopping and transportation.
Review 57:The lack of parking was a bit inconvenient but with an NCP opposite the only drawback was the extra charge.
Review 58:The helpfulness of the staff (particularly Michael) and the quality of the food.
Review 59:Waken up too early due to footsteps from above. Also curtains let light through Arrived after midnight but children woke up at 6am due to the above and son of 10 was competing in the English gymnastics competition at 12.45 on the day, so did not have a good rest as planned.
Review 60:Breakfast Bed WiFi
Review 61:I do not want to sound picky but the mugs.in the room where stained in a way that make me wonder if they were clean.
Review 62:It was quite we wanted a good night sleep before the competition. It is in town easy to pick up what we needed from the shop. There is no free car Cark but there is a carpark just on the other side of the road.
Review 63:Only negative was that parking was not on site but in paid council parking, though right next to the hotel.
Review 64:Staff very good, rooms very good. No negative points to the hotel.
Review 65:Breakfast was not the best.Food dry and sat under lights for some time.Porridge had burnt lumps in it was sent back. Not enough staff around to help.
Review 66:Very helpful staff at check in as on line booking was messed up.
Review 67:There was no shaving mirror. The toilet paper was difficult to extract from the holder. I would not recommend the restaurant. We both had fish and chips and I am sure the fish hadn't see the sea for several years!!
Review 68:The usual room cleanliness. The staff were very helpful.
Review 69:Paid for ultimate wifi so I could watch a catch up programme on my ipad but it kept buffering so we gave up. Not worth the extra cost
Review 70:Clean spacious room. Comfortable bed. Generous coffee and tea supplies. Helpful staff. Delicious breakfast.
Review 71:My teenagers found it frustrating that in actual fact the free WiFi is actually only for 30 minutes! A bit misleading to say that it is free.
Review 72:Perfect place to stay while my elder daughter had an interview at Loughborough Uni.
Review 73:Unfortunately the TV kept pixelating and in the end it became unwatchable. This was a real shame as staying on a Sunday night with children we were looking forward to a cosy tv night.
Review 74:The bed was very comfy and the room was a lovely temperature.
Review 75:Room very hot even with switching AC off or turning temp down it did its own thing and kept on pumping in hot air. Duvet too thick and hot.
Review 76:Otherwise very good!
Review 77:The question whether you have paid for breakfast is a bit odd for a guest who has, may be just ask for the room number (and then check without having the guest wait for the outcome)?
Review 78:Friendly staff, nice breakfast!
Review 79:Uncontrollable heating, over-cooked eggs, grotty coffee.
Review 80:Very friendly and helpful staff, particularly Michelle who helped us check in and recommended an excellent local restaurant. Beds very comfortable, room very clean. Easy parking and good location for our trip to the university.
Review 81:Waitresses didn't get order right for drinks. Also liquer coffee was a latte with spirit added????? Chips frozen mcdonalds type..urghhhh. didn't like being g asked twice for an order of two meals.
Review 82:Cleanliness
Review 83:The food! Usually it is great. This time it was bland and tasteless. The fish pie was a blob of goo, not creamy as said on the menu. The apple crumble was like shop bought, all pastry and gooey apple smothered in caramel sauce - too much!
Review 84:The staff and lovely restaurant and location.
Review 85:the third bed was hard like a plank of wood my child was uncomfortable. there was a door on the side which led to a adjoining what looked like cleaners someone was in the cupbord at about eleven o'clock it woke and scarred my son and would sleep there after that so i had to swap beds with him and I slept on the hard bed apart from that everthing else was spot on.
Review 86:everthing except
Review 87:Nothing really, if I were to be picky I'd say the internet could be faster and there could be a little daily variety in the breakfast
Review 88:Location, staff, cleanliness, newness, The wifi was actually free while we were there (that seems to be the future) and a great little bar and restaurant for the cold evenings when you don't want to go out
Review 89:So glad we found this, wonderful sleep, lovely clean facilities and friendly staff. 30 mins free wifi was nice, but a bit short. Excellent value for money, much better than many more expensive places.
Review 90:The kitchen closed early for dinner (20.30) despite advertising closing at 9.30/10pm. Found Duty Manager at dinner to be very condescending when I asked for gluten free information. Despite advertising gluten free bread at breakfast there was none when I asked. Openly advertises free wifi but this is only for 30 mins per day, thereafter it is £3 for 24 hours. I find this advertising misleading.
Review 91:Staff at Breakfast and Dinner were very professional and helpful.
Review 92:No on site parking but plenty nearby.Breakfast expensive;in the bar wine served in dirty wine glasses.Only one chair in bedroom.
Review 93:Not the best views but location was good, and in a safe environment.Short walk to the town centre, nearby pubs and restaurants.Quiet.
Review 94:The unhelpful nature of the woman receptionist, who had no sympathy for our dilemma, which is why I requested the manager's presence! Also the confusing description of the room...hopefully the bosses at the corporate headquarters will address this!!
Review 95:We were two male adults and one 5' 10" teenaged boy. We made a booking error by choosing a triple room (double bed plus single). The manager did his best to accommodate us within a room with three separate beds, but there was no availability. He also tried the airport hotel but no luck. One of us had to sleep on the floor.
Review 96:Beds were very uncomfortable and I think at least the kitchen should be open from lunch onwards to dinner without a break
Review 97:Liked the location and the size of the rooms . It was very comfortable room and the bathroom was also good sized
Review 98:Michael checked us in very thoroughly, friendly and efficiently. Excellent service from front desk through to the team at breakfast. Although young staff they were attentive and helpful. Great nights sleep due to the bed and peaceful rooms, didn't get disturbed even though the hotel was full. Restaurant is nicely furnished.
Review 99:getting a good night's sleep! No parking onsite but public car park cost was very reasonable. We chose this hotel as it was close to what we had planned for the following day - car experience at Prestwold.
Review 100:Only negative was my choice from the menu. Chicken and bacon salad with vegetable crisps and bbq sauce. The crisps are soggy as they are mixed in the salad and the bbq sauce doesn't work as a salad dressing. Was told the chef has to serve it like that.
Review 101:Stayed several times. Great staff, always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is good as there aren't many restaurants nearby.
Review 102:The experience was spoilt due to the evening meal. food cold and the time waiting for dessert was nearly an hour. As more guests arrived we appeared to of been ignored. The bill arrived before the dessert and the custard was cold. I had to make my way to the kitchen before I was stopped and dealt with. Although the room was good I would not have a meal again if I stayed at the hotel.
Review 103:I could not fault the, manner of the staff they were very polite and eventually helpful.
Review 104:If I wanted to be picky... there were a few hairs left in the bathroom sink, however a quick rinse around and they were gone. We went as a family wedding party and we all ended up paying different prices. My mother in law only paid £38 for her room but we had to pay £64 for the same. Felt a bit miffed about that.
Review 105:First time stay for us at a Premier Inn so wasn't sure what to expect. Well I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious and comfortable and had a great nights sleep in the comfy bed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Review 106:For two B&B it works out not as good value £90 - ave 4* is £110 Lack on onsite parking Self service book in
Review 107:Booked the quad room so good size, extra pillows, towels. Double bed size good Free tea and coffee and water Kids eat free Good choice at breakfast Endless tea and coffee Proximity to town centre
Review 108:Had to pay for car parking when other premier inns parking was free or tickets were validated. So free parking Also no biscuits or water provided which I have had in other premier inns.
Review 109:Food was good as had an evening meal there. Staff were all friendly and helpful when had a complaint.
Review 110:We had a wedding to attend at 3pm on the day of check-in and we where running late because of traffic problems. We checked in at 2.10pm (approx) and was allocated room number 421. We quickly made our way to our room because we didn't have much time to get ready only to find that our room hadn't been cleaned and wasn't ready. So we ran back to reception, down the lift again carrying our cases, suits carriers and shoes to check-in again for a second time. This took quick a bit of time to sort out with the receptionist and house keeping staff and we finally got allocated room 502 and we arrived at 2.25pm (approx) with only about 25 minutes to get ready. We ran to the wedding and arrived with only a few minutes to spare. What a mad rush....
Review 111:The restaurant was really nice and the hotel was in a great location within walking distance of the city centre.
Review 112:Air-con could not be brought below 17 Deg. With window open to compensate, there was a lot of noise (including prolonged revving of motorbikes!). Room telephone did not seem to function to contact friends in other rooms.
Review 113:Friendly, very helpful receptionist (Michelle). Room facilities and bathroom well appointed, clean and well maintained. Excellent meals at very reasonable prices, organised and served by polite, friendly staff. Very good breakfast!
Review 114:quilt on bed too thick, got too warm then folded back then got cold, need an intermediate, else all was good.
Review 115:Great location, near her house and near town, very clean, didnt plan on having any food there so can't comment on that, car park opposite £1-20 from 6pm sat until midnight sunday.
Review 116:No free parking. Used local car park which was reasonable because we stayed at the weekend but is probably expensive mid week
Review 117:Near to lots of shops and restaurants. Highly recommended
Review 118:No parking. The price paid for the room was quite expensive. Although there is a car park opposite, would be better if Premier Inn reimbursed the cost.
Review 119:wi fi is costly 3 pound/day also when i cheak out early i ask about early brekfast manger refuced that at 6.15 am and breakfast start at 6.30 am thats not good but must be treat that in feauture
Review 120:every thing is ok
Review 121:loose drain cover on side road to police station that clattered every time a car went over it, which kept me awake for most of the night, as our room over looked this road.
Review 122:Staff very helpful and friendly. Bar and restaurant area very comfortable.
Review 123:This was not a fault of the hotel but building works were being carried out close by and sometimes was noisy. Also, the hotel is close to the Police Station so expect sirens to be sounding regularly.
Review 124:The staff here went overboard to ensure the services provided were excellent and enhance ones level of comfort. They were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive to everyones needs.
Review 125:A little on the expensive side for drinks ( although only similar to other hotels of this type ) , and although wifi was a bargain at £3 for the stay it wasnt reliable.
Review 126:Great location - close to shops , bars and restaurants yet still peaceful. Really friendly staff an excellent breakfast.
Review 127:The lack of onsite parking, guests are told to use multi-storey opposite hotel. The water in our shower was barely Luke warm. The bed was uncomfortable, very unusual for premier inn! Lack of signage round the one way system!
Review 128:The staff were excellent, extremely helpful. The position of the hotel
Review 129:The only thing that I didnt like is they dont havr mini bar (mini fridge ) in the room
Review 130:I like the hotel its really confortable and really nice the staff is really helpfull there is a restaurant called tyhme inside it they really do delicious food love the burger there
Review 131:There was not a drop off area big enough when booking in. The drop of area seemed to be used as parking bays,
Review 132:Food & service was exceland. The staff were very helpful especially the receptions on duty on 19th
Review 133:The receptionist greeted us warmly and was very helpful. The room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was fantastic. We were very impressed.
