Reviews for Bron Eifion Country House Hotel

Review 1:Lovely rooms (we were upgraded and no additional cost) which is good policy if you have spare superior rooms. We felt valued, will definately return and will recommend to others!

Review 2:The staffs lack of knowledge of the menu and the subsequent mistakes made in taking orders as a result. Also my burnt food!

Review 3:Location and style of the hotel.

Review 4:The food wasn't what we expected ,it was well presented but there wasn't a lot if your a grown man ,service was very slow and every time we sat down to have something to eat there was something missing off the table ,ie ,knife ,fork ,no salt etc.

Review 5:The hotel was very comfortable and very well furnished.

Review 6:water pressure in the shower was rather low

Review 7:you could quietly get on with your own thing knowing that there were facilities and help available if you wanted it

Review 8:the bedroom was too hot and we could not turn the heating down. Bed was very hard and creaked.

Review 9:Food was excellent, staff were charming, bed linen and towels were high quality. The general ambiance was very good.

Review 10:The country people of Wales were exceptionally helpful. The roads have names but no name plates (same as Guernsey). If travelling by car take an AA map not GPS or Google map.

Review 11:Due to the sloping walls in the room I stayed in, the curtains hung away from the wall which meant the sun streamed straight into your face. Not complaining too much as the weather was so good. But I'm sure with a bit of DIY, they could be held against the bottom of the window. The WiFi on the terrace was a bit hit and miss.

Review 12:Very relaxing and tranquil location with lovely gardens. We were fortunate to have great weather. Only ate at the hotel one evening but the steak was stunningly good. I can see why it's such a popular wedding venue. That staff were very helpful. They also had local beer in bottles which is always a plus for me.

Review 13:The gardens could do with better care and attention

Review 14:The air of relaxation. The meals were excellent both in terms of quality and service. Will definitely visit again.Highly recommend

Review 15:Very well prepared and beautifully presented food but, as a vegetarian, I found the menu to be very limited. (2 choices of main course and no menu change in our 3 day stay so I had to 'repeat' a meal). Yes we could have left the hotel to eat elsewhere but really just wanted to relax.

Review 16:Very friendly staff, elegant hotel in a beautiful setting

Review 17:I think we would have preferred a buffet style breakfast where we could have chosen cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, ham, scrambled eggs, fruit juice etc.and ordered the "Full Welsh Breakfast"' if we had wanted it. We have all travelled extensively and would prefer this type of breakfast arrangement. It is perhaps something the management might consider and would greatly enhance the experience at the hotel

Review 18:The Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. I would definitely come again with my husband for a break. The gardens and the setting were just perfect. For exploring this party of North Wales it was idyllic . We were extremely lucky with the weather which added greatly to our enjoyment . We hope that the hotel goes from strength to strength. It deserves to do so.

Review 19:Our only niggle was that at breakfast, although warmly greeted and seated by the receptionist we were then ignored for 12 mins by the waiting staff even though they came in and out of the restaurant at least 6 times and were clearing tables.

Review 20:We loved the bed in the room it was a super king and very impressive with a massive antique style headboard and half posts.

Review 21:Water pressure in the shower was poor.

Review 22:Food was excellen.

Review 23:Food was amazing

Review 24:nothing

Review 25:Lovely location and a beautiful hotel with super friendly and helpful staff

Review 26:Excellent place to stay, friendly helpful staff, comfortable and clean. Well stocked Gin bar!

Review 27:Kindness and helpfulness of staff - and an un-asked for upgrade as well. The last stay on a tour in Wales and well worth it.

Review 28:Beautiful comfortable hotel

Review 29:No real bar area to enjoy post meal drinks.

Review 30:Gorgeous bedroom, very pleasant having a drink in the garden, lovely evening meal.

Review 31:They could do with a gym etc given the price of the room

Review 32:Ambience and complimentary drink in the late afternoon outside

Review 33:Relaxing atmosphere Great Food Great Room

Review 34:I was sick I think due to the meal I had. I was alone and as a result got very slow service

Review 38:BT hada problem with the line so no WI-FI.

Review 39:All of it !!!!

Review 40:The whole experience was excellent. The staff very accommodating. The evening meal delicious.

Review 41:The shower in the bathroom was not very effective.

Review 42:A country hotel with character. Got a complimentary upgrade. The chef produced excellent vegetarian food for us.

Review 43:The restaurant food was good nut the service a bit hit or miss

Review 44:A very nice building well refurbished with bags of character The hotel manager was excellent

Review 45:The bedroom my wife and I was rather small, as was the en-suite

Review 46:The manageress was wonderful. Offering us refreshment on arrival. In attendance all weekend with full explanations of the hotel and facilities, which were truly lovely. She and all her staff were truly a marvelous asset to the hotel.

Review 47:The shower was disappointing, as it lacked power. The communal area was open to the rest of the hotel and the noise could be intrusive.

Review 48:Food was well prevented and enjoyable.

Review 49:Absolutely nothing...we couldn't fault our stay there at all

Review 50:A beautiful place to stay, Staff were incredibly helpful, always smiling and attentive. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds, very peaceful. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We dined there in the evening and could not fault the cuisine or the choice of menu and the breakfast was fantastic. The Hotel is wonderfully grand but on a scale that still retains a 'homely' feel. We will be returning for one of their Winter Special breaks. Would highly recommend this Hotel.

Review 51:Leaving after a relaxing short stay.

Review 52:Stunning hotel and location. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous restaurant. Evening drink on the verandah. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 53:Very quiet in the evenings, there was a beautiful grand piano but no-one to play it.

Review 54:Luxurious surroundings, helpful, friendly staff, fantastic food. Peaceful and a retreat from the hustle and bustle.

Review 55:Nothing.

Review 56:We loved the elegant tranquil setting, and our spacious superior room with its very pretty outlook on to the gardens. The receptionist, Marie, was warm, welcoming and unpretentious. The hotel had been updated but had kept its intregrity and elegant furnishings.

Review 57:All the staff were friendly and helpful. The waiters in the restaurant, although all foreign, had been well trained, listened and remembered preferences from the previous day and made us feel welcomed and special. the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The gardens were delightful and of course, the sun helped!!

Review 58:I am an attention to detail person and the only faults i could see was that some of the mirrors where smeared, although they are very large and i imagine difficult to do. Also ring marks on Marble topped coffee table in sitting room.

Review 59:Staff very welcoming and friendly, made us feel as if we were the only guest's there.(In fact very busy & Mid week) We had a Deluxe Room which was beautiful. We have book again for my mothers 84th Birthday Lunch.

Review 60:the restaurant let the hotel down slightly, and some spa facilities would be an excellent addition

Review 61:Rooms comfortable and luxurious, public areas beautifully decorated

Review 62:Food in the restaurant was very average, which was rather dissapointing as they have all these rosettes...

Review 63:Staff was extremely helpful, particularly the manager / receptionist! Thank you! It is great that the hotel is small, thus feels very cosy.

Review 64:Service in restaurant was a bit slow but when it arrived the food was excellent.

Review 65:Staff, food, room, grounds were all 4 star. Beautiful location. Special diet catered for. The manager was extremely helpful.

Review 66:Our bathroom had a "bad drain" odour, and shower was only just adequate (very little power)

Review 67:Loved the food, the staff were very friendly and pleasant and helpful. Rooms were comfy, location fantastic. We had a superb break

Review 68:To say didn't like is perhaps being to critical , i would prefer a plainer food option for the main course , the starter and sweet were very good , together with an excellent breakfast ; the coffee was the best i have tasted and i sell coffee !

Review 69:Friendly and helpful staff , a warm welcome and a warm fire on a January night.

Review 70:I can't think of anything bad to say about the hotel.

Review 71:The hotel was peaceful and relaxing. A great break away from the hustle and bustle of life. The staff couldn't have done more to serve our every needs. The food was fantastic. Thanks for a great break.

Review 72:Lone traveller was offered to book a place in the restaurant or room service as soon as arrived. Helped with luggage to the room and given the code for the free wifi without even asking. Beautiful large comfortable bedroom with desk to work at.

Review 73:Our stay at the Bron Eifion was excellent. On our arrival we received great service from the reception staff who upgraded us to a superior room and accommodated us in the dining room for an evening meal, even though we had arrived after 8pm. The hotel was delightful, comfortable and charming, with views to the sea and lovely grounds to walk in.

Review 74:There is nothing we didn't like. It would have been nice to have a chance to play the fine piano, as we are classical music afficionados, but the opportunity didn't seem to present itself - maybe next time? There was no hot water, which was no great issue as the weather was extremely hot - we reported it as we vacated and no doubt it was promptly dealt with. The bathroom would benefit from mechanical ventilation, as the little skylight was roped shut, presumably for security reasons (Room 14).

Review 75:Clean comfortable room, excellent setting with interesting planted and landscaped grounds available to walk around, quiet at night (important as we are light sleepers), food out of this world, helpful and courteous staff. What more could one wish for.

Review 76:The Weather . But hey that's not the Bron Eifion's fault

Review 77:Everything was top class.food / service / cleanliness / location. Thiswas our second visit but will not be the last.

Review 78:Location - excellent. Comfort - excellent. Menu - somewhat short onchoice but first class quality. Staff - above excellent. Unfortunatelythe weather let the stay down.........but I guess that's hardly theirfault. Seriously the hotel really is that good but don't expect pooltables and television in the bar.

Review 79:it was obvious that the staff were newly employed, not confident in their roles nor did they have a full understanding of the routines expected of them.

Review 80:the hotel grounds and gardens are beautiful, the rooms and the hotel interior were fabulous.

Review 81:Like ever so many hotels, although the bathroom was small it was ample, but there was not enough shelf space to put two wash bags and all our shave and toothbrushes etc. Strangely, there was also too little space to hang up the towels. But the biggest problem was the noises from the central heating - it seemed that the radiators need bleeding of air.

Review 82:Staff were friendly and helpful. The house is well presented. The food was good, the bedroom clean and comfortable. I found the bed confortable, but my wife felt it was just a little too hard.

Review 83:Only slight issue was the background music too loud and seemed to travelup the walls to our bedroom - but when we asked them to turn it downthey did so which was a great response

Review 84:Good location set in its own grounds and a very old building where thehotel had grown within it sympathetically. Lovely ground to wander aboutin. Staff very good and food was excellent. If we were in this part ofthe world we would certainly choose this hotel again.

Review 85:A very comfortable hotel with excellent staff who were attentive yetdiscret at all times. The restaurant food was expertly prepared andpresented and was a credit to the chef.

Review 86:no bad points.

Review 87:Staff, room, food, location.

Review 88:Staff were fabulous, food was fabulous, decor was fabulous, location was fabulous and the peacefulness was fabulous. No more to be said really!

Review 89:No B&B with dinner option

Review 92:only there for one night, but would go again for longer stay.exellent place

Review 93:Poor food service

Review 94:A peaceful relaxing country retreat.

Review 95:Bedroom was very stuffy when first went in, no windows were open and it was very hot.

Review 96:Cleanliness and presentation of hotel and team

Review 97:Nothng.

Review 98:Great garden, beautiful house and room. Good wifi.

Review 99:if large wedding function on then the bar area would be a problem for guests of the hotel.
