The Obertrauner Hof is located at the heart of the tranquil village of Obertraun in the Salzkammergut region, only a 10-minute walk away from the shore of Lake Hallstatt.
Most of the spacious rooms have balconies and offer views of the Dachstein Massif. To minimise noise, there are no televisions in the rooms. Guests can benefit of free Wi-Fi access in public areas.

Review 1：The B&B is well located, close to Hallstatt and its main sights. (car recommended). We enjoyed our staying. The room was spacious, clean, warm. Could park the car comfortably at the B&B. Very good breakfast and personal care. The B&B is no luxurious cottage/hotel, but one has all he needs. @Andrew, thank you and good luck!

Review 9：AWESOME!!!! The owner is very likable, helpful, polite, neighborly. The room is very very clean, comfort, cozy. I do say: Stay there!!! The breakfast is so delicious with many foods options. This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed. The room view is beautiful too.

Review 12：The property is clean, room is big and spacious, toilet looks newly renovated. Owners are very friendly. The whole place just feels like one big house with sofas, tables and shelves in the common area. We got a room at the top floor with an awesome view of the alps, it is simply incredible. But before u request for a top floor room, pls note there is no lift in the property. Breakfast is basic just like most other hotels in Europe (pls do nt compare to 5 star hotels), but good enough to kick off for the day. At Eur 70 a night, I almost feel like I am ripping off the owners, one of my best stay (again do not compare to 5 star hotels) amongst the 20+ other hotels I've stayed in Europe. Kudos to the owners, great job!

Review 19：Andrew and his family had very recently taken over from the previous owners. We appreciated that Andrew would have a chat and make suggestions if he can help. The rest of the family were friendly too. Wifi was great for us, we had room 11 and found it comfortable for our short stay. We really enjoyed it. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was basic European breakfast, good enough to start the day with.

Review 20：Everything (room, breakfast, common areas) was very mediocre at the hotel, except for Travis, who was very nice and very helpful to us. The dirty glasses and cups were not replaced for the 2nd day of our stay, and they were not easily replaceable. The entry area looked and was deserted, not very appealing.

Review 21：The little town of Obertraun was really cute and the restaurant that we ate in was great (except for the fact that it was super smoky with cigarette smoke, which for us detracted from the excellent food).

Review 29：The location in Obertraun is great, not far from station, a short walk to restaurants, lake, and not too far to cable car up to ice caves and the top of the Dachstein. Handy shop, but not open Sundays (one in Hallstatt was). We had 2 ensuite triple rooms and could sit on landing and share a fridge and kettle and make drinks when we wanted. Very relaxed and homely. Hope the new British family taking it on will do as good a job. The couple who run it now were very welcoming and gave us useful information.

Review 37：The best thing was the location of our accomodation. It was close to every destination we wanted to visit. The room and bathroom were absolutely divine! Every thing was spotless and clean, as well as spacious. The view from the balcony was picturesque and lovely! We were also thrilled that we had free parking right in the back yard! It was very helpful that we could speak English with the owners, it really meant a lot!

Review 38：The most satisfied and worthy accommodation we had in our entire trip. I am very glad I had booked this hotel as all the hotel rooms in Hallstatt were sold out. This is a beautiful surprise and we love the town very much. It's a quiet and beautiful town - Obertraun. The people are nice, and it's not crowded. The hotel owner is a couple, and they are very nice and helpful. Their English is very good. We'd lived there for three days and we'd loving staying there. The room has great mountain view. I could not say more words how much I love staying in the town and jogging in the town to Hallstatt. This is the place I will definitely want to revisit again.

Review 73：The location was great and just outside Hallstatt in a quieter smaller town which we liked. It is a short distance to Hallstatt that you can walk, bike or drive. The hotel owners are very friendly & accommodating. They serve an excellent breakfast. There is a restaurant downstairs too if you prefer to eat dinner here. Good parking is available at no charge. Rooms were very clean with good beds. We had a deck also.

Review 75：The proprieters were fantastic--Brit expats--that made our stay more like a visit instead of being at a hotel, albeit a small one. The facilities are not fancy or posh, but very adequate, clean and comfortable . The food at the restaurant was great-- especially the fresh lake trout! Obertraun is much better location than Hallstatt which is over run with tourists.

Review 79：This is a wonderful inn. The owners are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If you can carry your luggage, it is a walkable distance from the train station. The mountains provide a gorgeous backdrop, and there are some wonderful hikes in the area.

Trevor and Debbie were very friendly and helpful and took time to share their local knowledge with us, advising us on train connections and also recommending walks. Review 83：the staff at Obertrauner Hof couldn't have been more helpful to us. thye helped us plan our trips around the area, gave us extra bedding, extra breakfast and even gave us a packup in the morning when we were leaving. Top marks.

Review 84：Breakfast coffee was undrinkable. In general the breakfast was nothing to brag home about. Although the wifi signal was powerful enough in the room, my iPad could not connect until sometimes the 3rd night when "magically" started working.

Review 85：For a 2 stars, Obertrauner Hof is a good place to stay. We had a large room which normally hosts 3 people, but as it was the last one available we had to book it. The pricing was reduced accordingly, which was nice.

Review 86：Our room overlooked the street, which was noisy during the day (but quiet at night). Reception was not manned during the day, so this felt a little unwelcoming. No fresh fruit available at breakfast buffet, and quantities of tinned fruit, yoghurt were meagre. We often had to ask for these to be replenished. Freshly boiled eggs were a plus though. No lift.

Review 87：Reasonably priced. Large room, with newly renovated bathroom. Excellent shower. Pleasant common area for relaxing in. Books and games available, plus tea and coffee facilities. Our host was very helpful with suggestions and directions. Bikes were available for hire (10 euros pd each) to explore local area.

We (3 couples) were catching an early bus, so owners opened breakfast room early (on their own). Did not want us traveling on an empty stomach. Now that is exceptional service.

Review 101：Located just a few minutes walk from the railroad station, the Eisensteiner Hof makes an excellent base to hike or bike in the local countryside, also into the Czech Republic, on a well-marked system of trails. They have an excellent restaurant as well. My room was spacious and included a small sitting room and balcony.
