Reviews for Caravelli
Review 1:Bit noisy as guests left restaurant at about midnight - when we were in bed.
Review 2:Really professional staff, restaurant was really good- great food and service. Gorgeous rooms.
Review 3:The accommodation wow. The bed was comfortable really clean. The staff were very friendly. Think it was the owner he was very helpful, letting me check in early as going to a wedding.
Review 4:Walls to the rooms very thin. I could hear Everything the couple in the next room were doing!
Review 5:Nice big room with 4 poster bed Restaurant good value for money
Review 6:Ambience of our lovely room which reflected the era that the property was built but of course with modern facilities. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 7:Although breakfast was good everything was cooked in oil including the "scambled" eggs - however I'm sure that if I had asked for them to be cooked a different way they would have obliged!!
Review 8:The staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful - will definitely stay there again if in the area!
Review 9:There is no lounge area but the bedroom was easily large enough to include one very comfortable lounge chair. There was probably enough room for a second lounge chair which would have been nice.
Review 10:The accommodation at Caravelli is located above the Italian restaurant. Don't be put off by the stairway access to the rooms. Once up the stairs, the room we stayed in was the most spacious we have experienced and the bed certainly the most comfortable. The room was very clean and well appointed and the decor was very attractive. Iron and ironing board in the wardrobe - afraid even on holidays you have to tidy up occassionally. WiFi and off street parking available. They were happy for us to leave our car in the car park after we had booked out so that we could walk around the city being very close to the centre of town. The night we stayed was pasta night in the restaurant so enjoyed a meal as well. There was no noise from the restaurant in the upstairs rooms.
Review 11:Breakfast was served a little early for a Saturday- between 7.30 and 9am. Until 10 would have been kinder but only a very small grumble.
Review 12:Room was beautiful! We booked an evening meal the night we stayed and were so happy we did- it was excellent and good value for money. 3 courses, a bottle of wine, coffee- about £30 each.
Review 13:Really strong bad smell of urine in the room which permeated hair, skin and clothing. There is a plug in air freshener in the room (not working) so they must be aware of this.
Review 14:breakfast
Review 15:Not a criticism just personnel preference but bathroom /shower too small. However would not stop me staying there again.
Review 16:Helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff.
Review 17:It was a post wedding meal for family and friends- place cards no where near plan left, menu choices made by guests a month in advance chaotically served. Young staff inexperienced and needed customer service training. It made what was a special occasion a let down.
Review 18:Food was fabulous. Room was great and Alison was very professional and kind.
Review 19:A fresh fruit salad would be nice at breakfast as well as nicer bread/croissants
Review 20:the room overlooked the church so was very relaxing and comfortable.
Review 21:Our first stay was at the front of the hotel overlooking the church, but later we stayed again at the back of the hotel. The room was splendid but the view was of the kitchen court yard and right above where kitchen staff smoked on their break.
Review 22:The rooms were full of character and, for us, the location was perfect.
Review 23:The room was just fabulous it was enormous with a huge inglenook fireplace original oak beams very comfy king size bed and all the facilities you can need I would highly recommend this place
Review 24:Not things we didn't like but could be improved: - Slightly larger bed (granted may be difficult as it was the smaller room) - Better pressure in the shower.
Review 25:Room was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Great food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) downstairs. Excellent location (we wanted to be able to catch the bus to Donnington Park which was super easy from this location)
Review 26:Booking.com need to sort out with the hotel the correct checkin times as it was different to our email confirmation and we arrived when the hotel was closed.
Review 27:The whole place, rooms and restaurant were excellent, extremely friendly staff, the location was great.
Review 28:Excellent food served in Caravelli restaurant. The friendly and efficient staff. The room was clean, warm, and provided all that was needed for a short stay.
Review 29:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 30:We stayed in the Hastings room which has a beautiful huge fireplace and kingside bed. The evening meal was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were extremely helpful and not only polite but friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again.
Review 31:The lady who answered the phone when we called ahead to explain we had been caught in traffic following a accident was very rude and although she asked someone to stay to give us our key she was not very polite. Very abrupt and "huffing and puffing" down the phone despite us Apologising profusely despite it being beyond our control.
Review 32:We were running late after getting stuck in a accident on the m25 the gentleman stayed back to give us our room key. He was very welcoming and helpful. The staff were pleasant in the morning also and very accommodating. The room was comfortable and great for a quirky hotel if you don't want your average chain hotel. Very clean also.
Review 33:Nothing to dislike; I'm a vegetarian, so some prepared fruit and more variety of fruit (grapefruit, berries for example) for breakfast, and perhaps a croissant with coffee, would have been extra nice.
Review 34:Stunning room and exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff from welcome to departure.
Review 35:The room was ok. I felt it was a little expensive for the amenities. Little bit of sprucing up needed but it was ok.
Review 36:The restaurant was fabulous and the service was fantastic, very helpful and attentive.
Review 37:Finding it was a struggle...but well worth it.
Review 38:Fabulous period property, beautifully restored and furnished. The Beaumont room is absolutely stunning - four poster, bath and the most comfortable bed on the planet. All staff welcoming and engaging.
Review 39:The staff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast each morning. The rooms were beautiful and immaculate.
Review 40:Our only complaint was the noise. During the night we were woken several times as it sounded very loud when anyone opened doors or walked past the room. Despite being a lovely place, would hesitate staying again as the noise woke us several times.
Review 41:The room was beautiful, clean and staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 42:Lovely staff, very approachable and attentive with a great personal touch. Always looked after when staying there and the rooms are fabulous. Pasta night is also a steal, great restaurant and atmosphere.
Review 43:I would visit again there was nothing I didn't like.
Review 44:The bedroom was absolutely gorgeous. Stunning décor and full of character. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant in the evening was delicious as was the breakfast.
Review 45:Beautiful bedroom, 4 poster bed, stunning features in keeping with the period of the house. Lovely breakfast & lovely staff. Would definitely recommend it.
Review 46:Nothing really - location not fabulous but very handy for us as at wedding at Prestwold Hall. Breakfast lady was lovely but would have liked a menu to choose from - English breakfast a bit greasy but I am quite fussy!!!
Review 47:The host was extremely helpful when we arrived as we were in hurry to attend a wedding - very kind to my elderly mother which I really appreciated Really friendly service Rooms (all 3 booked) were lovely & everything was of a particularly high standard... Very nice toiletries too
Review 48:A quiet location on the edge of the city. We will be returning as my daughter is in Loughborough University. The menu for the restaurant on the ground floor looked great and we plan to eat there on our next visit. It's one of the oldest buildings in Loughborough and the exposed beams and old fireplaces made the hotel full of character
Review 49:Nothing!
Review 50:The room was beautiful! Loads of space, loads of character...Four poster bed, roll top bath etc etc with everything you could want. Much better than expected!
Review 51:Gorgeous room, friendly staff, great service, outstanding food and just about perfect experience. Impossible to fault Caravelli, will definitely be back!

Review 56:Room was lovely - very nicely decorated. & also very clean
Review 57:Can't think of anything that we didn't like :)
Review 58:Bruno and Allison headed up a very friendly team. Delicious meal if a tad on the large side - none of us could manage a dessert!! Both of the rooms we booked were very comfy and décor very tasteful.
Review 59:Room lovely, overlooking church. Restaurant downstairs food delicious Italian with fun atmosphere. Location excellent for Ferrara experience and shopping! Thank you
Review 60:Our stay was scheduled for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. Noise from the restaurant below, people waiting for taxi's on departure at the end of the evening dining & the passing people from the pubs nearby was the biggest let down. It was after 2:30am before we were able to get off to sleep. Toilet for the downstairs restaurant was on the same landing as the entrance to the rooms. A code lock on the door to the passage to the sleeping accommodation would give more security. Because of the above, we sadly checked out after one night of our 3 night stay as we did not want another interrupted night with very little sleep.
Review 61:The location to the town was fine. The bedroom was unique, clean & comfortable. The staff were very pleasant & helpful. The room rate was good but because of the things we did not like it is hard to recommend to other travellers, it may not bother other people but it did spoil our stay.
Review 62:I thought it overpriced for what it was, the room was small with an en suite and overlooking a main noisy road.
