Reviews for Garendon Park

Review 1:*No free parking at all!just a suggestion of a random pub carpark for afew hours had to find parking elsewhere and ended up paying taxi fares*I was doing night shifts and during the day they decided to redecoratewhilst I was there and they were scrapping and banging on walls all day.*Toilet very noisy flushing system shower was grotty with other humanhair so did not use *room carpet was awful and dirty *total rip off!*All the electrical products had not been tested and were out of legaltesting period march 2014!?Would not stay here ever again

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:The shower was really bad - I was standing in ice cold water that didnt drain whilst trying to wash under a tiny amount of water. The towels were threadbare with bright yellow stains on them.

Review 4:Staff were friendly, location was very good, bed was comfortable, hotel was quiet.

Review 5:Parking described as free in car park opposite, which it was outside of 8am to 6pm with a 2 hour wait. Otherwise advised to find a street nearby to park on - not quite what I call free parking.

Review 6:The breakfast was good, the owner very pleasant, and the location good for town centre and steam railway.

Review 7:Tiny room for a three bed room. It's in the loft. My mum struggles to get up there. If I had know no lifts I would have chosen else where

Review 8:Clean linen

Review 9:I didn't like walking up 3 flights of stairs to reach our room. The shower was not easy to operate and our room with 3 beds was a bit squeezy.

Review 10:The owners Jeremy and Denise were very obliging and helpful.

Review 11:The hotel is on the main road with no private parking, although there is free overnight parking opposite.

Review 12:The facilities were very good and the staff were very welcoming.

Review 13:A little too close to the road, and traffic noise was audbile (at low levels) even at night.

Review 14:Location was convenient and within walking distances of many places I needed to be.

Review 15:The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with was the bathroom as it really needed a revamp.

Review 16:Great value and excellent service, breakfast in particular was really good.

Review 17:I didn't have a bad experience, but felt the hotel was a little dated and in need of up-dated décor.

Review 18:The hotel supplied exactly what I required for a quick visit. No frills so reasonably priced. I may well use it again on another flying visit.

Review 19:Nothing, really. Shower room's a bit on the small side for someone as wide as me, but that's my fault!

Review 20:Friendly owner, comfy bed, good breakfast, and great value for money.

Review 21:Some of the decor is a bit dated but in no way detracted from the experience

Review 22:The price and quality of the cooked breakfast with locally sourced food. The fact that the heating was adjusted to come on ready for our return home, very welcome in light of the cold and wet weather

Review 23:Family of 5 adults attending a funeral in Loughborough. Guest house was excellent value and well located for the crematorium. Breakfast was excellent including gluten free bread for my daughter and as much tea and coffee as we could drink.

Review 24:Booking via booking.com - I had requested a booking of a twin room for two and wanted this to include breakfast. On confirming booking I released what I had booked was single occupancy of a family room without breakfast - which incurred additional cost. Your site needs to be more transparent and clear at time of booking. It would not have affected my choice of hotel but would have saved a couple of unnecessary emails between myself and the hotel...

Review 25:Reception was great and welcoming, Breakfast variety and value for money Room - good size, functional, clean and uncluttered

Review 26:Relaxed and quiet environment, really enjoyed our room and where it was situated for us was perfect. Very pleasent breakfast to at a reasonable price, would go again

Review 27:Our bedroom door was a fire escape and so the room could not be securely locked. Tv didnt work was frozen on the same picture. Shower heat settings could not be altered and was to hot to you. No headboards on the beds.

Review 28:The beds had very clean freah white bedding.

Review 29:For the price is was great, very clean in room, good wifi cosy bed, really quite so had a good sleep which is what I really wanted after working in the city all day.

Review 30:Following the gps took us to another hotel, same street address but another village. Beds were too soft. Inadequate storage for 3 people. Closets in 'entrance' to room were locked so not for guests to use. No onsite parking but there's parking across the street. I would recommend this hotel for couples & families with older children. Eccentric electrics: only 1 plug for tv, kettle etc.

Review 31:It was nice to stay in a B&B style hotel with the owners' personal touch rather than the anonymous chain hotels. Bathroom was big & clean. Room was nicely furnished & decorated.

Review 32:only gripe was I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to connect but might have been down to my actual phone and not the service and the tv remote might need new batteries

Review 33:excellent staff on check in, very informative and knowledgeable about area ensuring you were made aware of local amenities and given the code for Wi-Fi straight away, very warm and comfortable room, clean and tidy, bed was lovely and soft with plenty of spare blankets not that they were needed. Cooked breakfast made to order was very tasty, came out hot with coffee, juice and cereal all ready laid out for you, although room was overlooking the main road, had no problem getting a good nights sleep. Plenty of fresh towels in bathroom along with an arrange of toiletries, coffee tray was full of choice and check out went without a hitch all in all great nights stay

Review 34:Room 5 wardrobe very small if staying for more than a few days. Nowhere to hang up winter coats. Bathroom shower cubicle needs upgrading tiles black with mould flooring needs replacing.

Review 35:Breakfast very good good choice

Review 36:Except that as the hotel is situated right on a busy road - there is significant noise of traffic (you can try and request for a room that is on the other side). The room is also too small to move around comfortably.

Review 37:This accommodation is very clean, comfortable, and safe. As a solo female traveler I found the single room accommodation with attached bath perfect for my needs. The rooms have a pretty decor too. The owners are also helpful.

Review 38:parking may be difficult after 17.00 windows on busy street very tight quarters

Review 39:nice owners good breakfast central location traditional old English ambiance

Review 40:I had to go downstairs in order to get a cup to make a cup of tea in my room because there was not one there.

Review 41:It was everything I expected because I have stayed there before,

Review 42:Garendon Park was perfectly situated for my son and me to visit the Loughborough University open day. Upon our late arrival friendly hosts pointed us in the direction of the many nearby eateries ( The Goa Indian restaurant is a must) Good nights sleep in clean, very comfy beds with REALLY comfortable pillows! Fabulous tasty full English Breakfast set us up well for the day....Over all great value for money!

Review 43:The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do we were given a large comfy room and will definitely be paying another visit there soon

Review 44:I didn't like the fact you had two barking dogs in the hotel, a torn chair in the dining area, a ladder just in front of my room and I wasn't even told the wifi code as you will expect it to be in your room or given at reception

Review 45:Friendliness of the staff

Review 46:Finding the place was a bit of a challenge at night (esp on account of roadworks which of course was not attributable to the B & B)

Review 47:The welcoming from the owner even though I arrived later than expected. The overall comfort of the room with attractive décor. A very good breakfast in the morning.
