Reviews for George and Dragon Clifton

Review 1:As we were travelling with our dogs we would have liked a larger space with a dedicated area for them to sleep. They shared our room!

Review 2:Friendly welcome and good atmosphere in bar area. Dogs very welcome. Food good too.

Review 3:we were woken by a rather loud and persistent tapping noise, in the outside wall of room 2, at 2.15 am, which went on for over 2 hours! The manager had no idea what might have caused what appeared to be a plumbing problem but the heating was not on at that time! The manager immediately offered me a refund on the room and was most upset at the problem.

Review 4:Good food either in the bar which is cosier than the dining room which was still very nice.

Review 5:Bit difficult to get to. Try to avoid Penrith and instead go one exit beyond (south) and come back north on A6. Be prepared for a late checkout, breakfast starts at 8

Review 6:Excellent renovation, clean comfortable room, pleasant staff, meals were some of the best England has to offer.

Review 7:WE had Room 5, it only had a big bath, no shower. The bath had a hand held shower, but no shower curtain so water went everywhere. Not a big deal, but we do like a proper shower.

Review 8:Very helpful staff, very hospitable. Nice restaurant, good evening meal.

Review 9:Our room (No. 2) was very noisy. There is a beer cellar cooling unit underneath which was about as loud as being on an aeroplane. That was switched off between 10pm and 8am but various other fans or pumps or something came on and off during the night. There is also an exit stairway along side that room so that guests who smoke can go outside at night, so that was noisy too. I did mention it to the management but they offered no solutions and it was too late anyway. It's a shame we got that room because it let the whole place down, I'm sure we would be giving 10/10 if we had been in any other room. All the bowls at breakfast were greasy which didn't help.

Review 10:The room, the food, the beer all very good.

Review 11:We arrived waaaaaaay before check in and needed to get ready for my friends wedding and they kindly offered us a room to use for a few hours, was much better than trying to get ready in the toilets ! The rooms were clean and tidy and the bar area was lovely. And breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked

Review 12:The only thing I could really criticise would be the pillow which instantly went flat and was very uncomfortable.
