Reviews for Hotel Rigas
Review 2:We would like to have a dinner inside the hotel but we were told that the restaurant is not open during winter (they serve only breakfast), which is in any case quite understandable.
Review 3:What we most liked was the kindess of the staff at the reception. They had always a smile on their faces and helped us in order to look around Skopelos. We had a spacious, clean room with kitcenette, while the hotel is located in a walking distance from "Chora" and the few restaurants that were open during this period.
Review 4:Nothing, everything was perfect.
Review 5:Short business visit and stay. Within walking distance of port and Chora center. Stayed in studio, very spacious, spotless clean with everything you need for your stay. Wi-Fi was important for me and was handy and free. There are nice restaurants nearby. The staff speak perfect English and are extremely helpful. They organized our boat trips with 35% discount! I’ll definitely return with family for summer vacation..
Review 6:Place more fruits in breakfest
Review 7:We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and thehotel is rated 3*. The rate we paid values for money I must admit. Poolarea was closed in November but looksvery nice for summer with excellentgarden surroundings. The food was excellent, very tasty and reasonablypriced, we basically ate there all the time.
Review 8:The hotel company provided transfers from Skiathos Airport to the port & return ferry tickets to Skopelos. On our arrival at the Hotel we were told that they had up graded our room which was a pleasant surprise. The bedding and towels were changed every other day. The breakfast was well above average for a Greek breakfast.
Review 9:Missing described services Poor breckfast Room maintenance Pool maintenance Surrounding vegetation maintenance
Review 10:The pool, the Big rooms, the beds, the balcony
Review 11:Poor quality of breakfast, charged for alcoholic drink when ordered a mocktail, no Parking, pictures on the web deceiving, the private pool in Some apartments deceiving
Review 12:Supposed to be deluxe room with private pool !!!!! on a pathway out to main road no privacy @ all and pool filled up with a hosepipe!! Main pool filthy- requested evening meal upon booking to find that we were expected to eat an Italian Buffet as that was the meal of the day - overall an awful experience would never go back - did complain but no refund
Review 13:There is no variety for breakfast, everyday the same, no fresh fruits. We had "deluxe apartment" with swimming pool, I would call it more a basin, it was quite small. The bathroom had no ventilation, and the shower cabin was directly on the floor, a lot of water was going out, so we were facing a little lake when coming out of the shower, considering we were 4 in the apartment. What disappointed me the most was the fact that they didn't respect their policy of offering a bottle of wine for guest's birthday, although I went to the reception and announced them about by husband's birthday.
Review 14:Wi-fi all over the hotel. Good position, close to port. Baby cot available. Towels and sheets were changed frequently, almost everyday I think. The lady who was checking room numbers at breakfast, recommended us good places for eating, she was the nicest from all personnel.
Review 15:The lack of cleanliness
Review 16:The location and the hotel's open space
Review 17:Everything was perfect! The personnel, was so kind and helpful for anyneed we have. Lovely place in a lovely island. Clean and relaxing, niceswimming pool with sun beds in a Mediterranean garden. It looks betterthan the photos! The breakfast was lovely with lots of the foodhomemade. Our room was spacious, light, with a delightful terrace. Thehotel is 5 minutes walk from the Port. We recommend it.
Review 18:It was a short stay in Skopelos island on my way to Volos. To hotel is clean, with particularly polite personnel. They went any “extra mile” to arrange a pharmacy open in after hours so that I got my heart medicine. Even though I had paid for a standard room I was upgraded to a spacious studio. The gardens were attended, full of many spring scents and colors. Skopelos town is very beautiful! I’ll have my summer holidays plans changed and I'll come in gorgeous Skopelos. Bravo for the beautiful hotel.
Review 19:Nobody knew of our booking when we arrived but got this all sorted. The swimming pool was not in use.
Review 20:Staff were amazing, went that extra mile to make us happy. Got to hire one of the hotel cars which made our stay even better. They did all our washing for us as we'll at no extra cost.
Review 21:I traveled for the first time in Skopelos because of a 2 day business trip. The island is a gem! The hotel was one of the very few open in the heart of winter. People know how to offer genuine hospitality and surpass themselves in order to offer a pleasant stay. Overwhelmed by your courtesy shall return for a summer vacation with my whole family.
Review 22:We loved our stay at Rigas Hotel while on our honeymoon. We had a standard room but George upgraded for us since we were there on our honeymoon. They place a complimentary wine & fruits with wishes. Skopelos is a very quiet and green island and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is not in the center of the port town, but it's not far. They picked us up from the port and even drove us a nice restaurant on the water for dinner and made sure we knew how to get back. It was an easy walk. He helped up get a car for the day and we were able to leave it there for a pick up after we left the island. Rigas was terrific and we really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely island to just relax and be. He even gave us wonderful istraction how to get at the “Mamma Mia” film shootings. No worries there...we won't forget him or the hotel any time soon.
Review 23:We loved everything about this hotel! Rigas hotel lovely and cozy –and Skopelos is a bit of a Paradise on Earth! Our room was recently renovated, so everything is fresh. Great care has been taken to touch up all the little details and the hotel receptionist, Giorgos was eager to please us, help us and was the kindest person all the way through. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, at a decent price and it's not geared to 'heavy tourism-earning' so to say, it's a bit more about traditional hospitality-like, which we loved. Don’t think and expect “industrial tourism lodging”. Our room with a queen size bed and a verandah with a little garden with lemon and mandarin trees view was just relaxing. We got to Skopelos - by chance really - for 2 nights and on first morning decided to skip 'Skiathos part' of the trip and stay another 3 nights, it was the best decision we could have made! We came post-season to avoid crowds and the whole island was getting ready for autumn. Breakfast was rich in Greek tastes (we loved the Skopelitian cheese pie). The owner gave us a free ride to the Panormos beach as he went there for his other hotel. The beach and sea waters are fantastic- it was very nice of him! We definitely will come back to Skopelos , we are already planning it! It's such a peaceful and untouched piece of Greece that I can't imagine a better place for our imminent Honeymoon.
Review 24:I would have preferred to be able to hang the shower up so the water could fall over my head. Also it was very difficult to push down the button to flush the toilet. Otherwise everything was fine.
Review 25:We loved the service (the staff were friendly, polite and patient), the location (it was a short walk to the centre of town but far enough away to be quiet), the size of our room and the view from our room. We also liked the entertainment at the hotel, we liked the look of the building and the gardens. The free WIFI was great!
Review 26:A real welcome from Dimitri and his team. Great breakfast and fresh vegetables and plums from the garden. Being there on a Saturday evening was a real plus for the Barbeque and the live Bouzouki music. Delicious food. Fantastic swimming at unspoiled Panormos beach with free sun beds & umbrellas.
Review 27:We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. Rooms smelled and one of them had no windows. Had a little private mini swimming pool which although small was very deep. Wouldn't pass health and safety in the UK since if a child fell in they would drown. Was therefore very nervous of it couldn't leave children alone in case one fell in! Not very relaxing! Rooms on the ground floor so just had a view of a shed which they tried to jazz up by adding astro turf on the roof. Breakfast policy seems to favour quantity over quality. Booked for 6 days but left after 4 even though we wouldn't get our money back. Went to another hotel with a lovely view that was half the price, clean, etc.
Review 28:At first sight, the hotel tries to offer a lot but by doing so they miss to manage the most simple things. Rooms are not proper at all, towels offered unappetising due to undefinable specks, poison against snakes right in front of our room and accessible for children ie. Unfortunately we got the room next to the main street: Very noisy. Quality of food offered for lunch and dinner far below average. At rainy days not enough space inside the hotel for servicing all guests. We asked for a taxi to catch the ferry in time. Finally we had to walk. That's unaccetable and evidences weak managment. The first and only time the management showed interest in us was the day before our depature. They wanted to discuss our opinion to be published on booking.com. Absurd.
Review 29:To be honest: Not that much. At least in theory, the hotel's architecure.
Review 30:What I didn´t like was at our first day we receive a room withoutconditions. A strong toxic smell inside, but then in the second daycomes the unacceptable. I don´t know abt the other customers, but arriveat our room late night and realise that neither they put bath towels aswell bed wash was not made...... Is hard to belive, but lovely suprisewas neither apologise was made from Hotel side, Reception employees niceand good manager terrible. No profile for the job that is a fact.So I donot suggest this hotel.
Review 31:I liked the Hotel, nice construction in generality as well beauty.
Review 32:Lovely place. Very friendly and inviting environment and staff. Our room offered all modern facilities. The island of Skopelos is a heaven on Earth. Destination and lodging for a lifetime specifically if affording not the flooded central Europe!
Review 33:Everyone was very helpful... and Hotel in good position to Skopelos town... easy walk.
Review 34:All good.
Review 35:Great service, great location, lovely grounds, good wifi, had some nice entertainment.
Review 36:fine location and very quiet
Review 37:Location, amenities,pool, activities,staff.
