Reviews for Imperial Hotel
Review 1:The service at the reception desk was poor on arrival and we were not allowed to use the car park. The bathroom was very small and the shower did not work properly. Some of the towels were dirty. The breakfast was awful. The menus and the crockery had flecks of dried on food. (We were told that it was bacon!) The bacon on the plate was dry and cold and the eggs were like rubber. We sent the breakfast back and the second one was just as bad but this time the egg was brown. The toast was cold. It was very disappointing.
Review 2:The location was lovely and the views were fantastic.
Review 3:Couldn't turn on bathroom light. Took ages to finally move us to another room. Only staying one night so hard to settle in then. Hotel wasn't very clean.
Review 4:Staff tried to be helpful as possible.location was excellent. ,
Review 5:The shower was a mere trickle. Perhaps we couldn't work it properly but we gave up. Breakfast was ok.
Review 6:The location was great. Our room was comfortable and clean with a great sea view. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.
Review 7:Added expense of parking away from the hotel on top of hotel fees. Seemed like most of the other guests were v old.
Review 8:Upgraded to a front room when advised the shower in my back room didn't have any pressure. The view was lovely and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast.
Review 9:Disappointed with the breakfast; - not very warm plus my wife had warmed instead of gammon has on menu. Floor in the dining hall not very clean since we were one of the first for breakfast.
Review 10:Very good location and the room was well presented, ,clean , good space and a good view considering its position
Review 11:The room was small and not particularly clean. We booked for 2 adults and an 8 year old, but only had a double bed. Hotel were really good finding a blow up bed, but made the room very uncomfortable.
Review 12:The location and views are superb. The staff are very professional, helpful and friendly.
Review 13:We did not have a bad experience, but would say that breakfast was a little lacking in choices of fruit and cereals.
Review 14:We stayed in a very generous sized twin bed room, plenty of tea and coffee and hot chocolate, room was very comfortable and very clean plus a generous sized bathroom.
Review 15:Hotel could do with repainting. New carpet in foyer and removing the silly carpet from the lift walls. Payment was required on arrival, not on checking out which we found strange.
Review 16:we stayed in The Premier Suite, which had a large balcony with a fantastic view of the sea and Caldey Island. refurbished spacious bathroom with a separate shower and bath was great. Four poster bed was really comfy and great high ceiling.p
Review 17:The breakfast was a bit mean. You really need a double breakfast to fill you up. When we asked for a second hot breakfast they politely said 'the chef said no!' The building is desperately in need of a renovation!
Review 18:Location is superb. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Review 19:We asked for a sea view room when we arrived having not booked one and Simon went out of his way to give us a lovely premier room with large balcony and amazing sea view. Def made our stay extra special. Andreas on reception so polite and helpful too and room maid came every morning always polite and with a smile.
Review 20:Decor in bedroom poor. Tired looking. Entertainer on Thursday 30th July embarressiny poor. Jokes bordering on racist. Dirty windowsills in bar area. Bar in evening left with dirty glasses etc on most tables. Room over priced.
Review 21:Friendly staff . All very helpful. Location superb.
Review 22:Shower didn't work properly. Very hot water, little cold water and no shower hook made showering impossible. Hotel hallways and corridors need repainting.
Review 23:Wonderful location, bedroom beautifully decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant overlooked beach and bay. Great views!
Review 24:The hotel needs update...the decor was dated, one of our beds was broken!!...The breakfast was tiny, Didnt reflect the price!..Overall I was disappointed.
Review 25:The views were outstanding. .the staff were friendly. ..
Review 26:There were steps everywhere, steps down to the restaurant, steps from the lift to our rooms, it was very difficult for my 90 year old Mother. Cleaning staff forgot to empty waste bins and clean bathroom on second day but the bed was made up nicely.
Review 27:Reception and Restaurant staff were very helpful. The rooms were nicely presented when we arrived.
Review 28:Unfortunate layout of an older building with internal steps.
Review 29:Lovely staff.Food very appetising and excellent restaurant service. Beautiful views from our bedroom and it is a quiet location.
Review 30:Room 26 no window ventilation, room door no handle pull or push, closer needed adjustment,. Closers on stairs adjustments needed. Sticky tape on window sides ,(for draught I expect)looked cosmeticly shabby . And silicone sealing not trimmed off properly .im not being picky ,simple little jobs that would boost the rating. Hope this was helpful.
Review 31:Layed back atmosphere ,polite ,staff ,snack and bar availability. Enjoyed my stay.
Review 32:The floorboards in the room above were incredibly creaky, the breakfast was adequate at best, and there was no parking. It felt like the hotel is a missed opportunity to do something wonderful and the price was over the top for the service received.
Review 33:Tenby is a beautiful location and the view from the hotel was amazing.
Review 34:Breakfast was of poor quantity, nice what we had but a buffet style would of been better... Was able to count baked beans on the plate (24/30)
Review 35:The view from our room
Review 36:There was a vegetarian breakfast on the menu, but vegetarian sausages, .also soya milk had "run out". We were not the only ones with meagre rations as a result!
Review 37:Although the hotel has no car park, it was easy to find a space nearby. We watched the sea lapping the town wall immediately below the dining room as we ate.
Review 38:No parking, the hotel stated parking, but it was a very small car park with no spaces available for me, parking officers on street (many of them ticketing on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, but there was ample, resonable parking close to hotel. Decore a little dated, could use a lick of paint in some places, but the price was right.
Review 39:Staff, location, huge rooms, views, cleanliness, breakfast
Review 40:the fact that we paid more than the brochure price however the travel or evening meal was not included
Review 41:the sea view and the central location as well as the friendly staff
Review 42:not worth the money,at all,bed was not made, when gone out for a walk.first room was just no value for money.floor was not been hoewer.couldn't open the window.will not go back
Review 43:staff where very pleasant.
Review 44:The room we were allocated through Booking.com was terrible considering the price we paid
Review 45:The hotel manager upgraded our room at no extra charge and with no problem at all and told us the policy of booking.com.
Review 46:Double bed was not a double as we not sleep at all a night, floor was uneven to the point that you could the angle when bathroom door was closed and the shower was full of mould.
Review 47:there wasn't anything to dislike about the imperial hotel
Review 48:the relaxed atmosphere and the view from the bar and restaurant is fantastic i should imagine it would be better again when you are sitting out on the terrace in the summer
Review 49:if you have mobility issues, check where your room is , the lift does not call by some rooms, and you have to climb steep stairs.
Review 50:room 25 is HUGE, seaview , the bathroom is in a turrret, resturant has spectacular view of the beach and sea , and looks over to st katherines island. friendly staff and good food, clean hotel.
Review 51:I had no bad experiences here.
Review 52:I requested a room with a view. I definately had that, a third floor room, which was incredible large overlooking Castle Beach and looking straight on to the sunrise. The food was very nice and well presented with the staff courteous and pleasant.
Review 53:there was nothing we really didn't like but If I had to find a fault it would be the entertainment that night
Review 54:It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel . Suite was nicely decorated , comfortable & spacious . Staff were friendly , polite & very accommodating . View from our room & breakfast room were fantastic . Would definitely stay here again
Review 55:Nothing.
Review 56:Stayed in a very large and stylishly decorated room with great sea view. Nice modern bathroom. Breakfast in lovely dining room , again with fabulous view. Staff friendly and helpful , food good. Room rate was very good value.
Review 57:No hot water in our bedroom could not have a shower or a shave, The breakfast could be improved by not cooking it all first thing and then keeping it hot, the bacon was so hard you could not cut it, the sausage was no better,
Review 58:The location the hotel ts excellent and the views over the south beach are wonderfull
Review 59:Couldn't get wifi in room. No lift up to our part of the hotel. Shame about the scaffolding over the window but appreciated the work was necessary and could still see through it to the sea beyond.
Review 60:Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Location ideal close to town centre with stunning panoramic views of the south beach from restaurant. Receptionist Irene advised options for parking inc multi storey @ incredible price of £1 per 24 hours which I didn't know despite lots of previous visits to Tenby! Special requests made at time of booking both met so switched from twin to double and upgraded to sea view. Breakfast excellent and plenty of tea/coffee in room. Male singer entertainment Saturday evening nice touch.
Review 61:Shower power poor, bathroom door awkward to close on slider. Cooked Breakfast was small portions, although tasty, and toast very thin.
Review 62:Reception and all staff pleasant and helpful.
Review 63:We had a room on the 4th floor and the cold water pressure/supply was almost zero making having a shower or a bath a truly major operation. This problem does require some urgent attention.
Review 64:All OK except the cold water!
Review 65:The hotel shut the main doors at 12:00pm without informing us. We had to wake someone up at 12:30 which may have disturbed other guests. The hotel seems a little under staffed as there was no permanent bar man and a bell had to be pressed to get attention, which was not always very quick. The hotel lost a lot of revenue as I did not bother with the bar after the first night and eat out.
Review 66:The location was fantastic and the staff were helpful when approached. The views from the restaurant over looking the beach & St. Catherines island were worth the money alone. The breakfast was good served to order very quickly and the waiting staff very helpful.
Review 67:The fish and chips and lack of vanilla ice cream.
Review 68:Spacious room with table and chairs. Fabulous view from the dining room. Ideal location handy for all amenities.
Review 69:My request for a disabled toilet was once again totally ignored. I blame booking .com and the hotel. Booking are the agents responsible and once again failed. I will not use them again.
Review 70:The locationM
Review 71:shower was very poor. hardly any water from it.I understand this applies to all bedrooms on the 4th floor. I ordered 2 items off the breakfast menu but neither was available.(scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and ham and eggs). I think they were running out of food as the full English was very small. Egg was congealed, No fruit of the day. The lift is very small and a queue formed very quickly. The hotel in general looks very tired and needs painting.
Review 72:location good, bed comfortable and clean
Review 73:Hotel parking limited but plenty locally in multi-storey.No problem, only a short walk.
Review 74:Very welcoming, fantastic location. Good room. Views great. Central position, easy walking to everywhere.
Review 75:The lunchtime bar food was poor and the breakfast was just adequate. I recommend booking online or through the holiday company Shearings who own the hotel.
Review 76:The location was great and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It was a lovely relaxing break.
Review 77:I liked everything , price was a lil steep for a B and B but it was more like a hotel so overall a great place to stay
Review 78:Staff were really friendly and helpfull was a very nice room and located on the beachfront , couldn't ask for a better location.
Review 79:everything, the location, breakfasts, room facilities, cost, tenby as a holiday venue, staff at hotel, there was nothing at all to maake a negative comment on.
Review 80:Location was beautiful and view from room was glorious but was treatedvery rudely and quite unacceptable by a dreadful bar staff when wereturned after a meal out, and asked for drink at bar. It was only 22:40!!! He told me he had shut the bar and cashed up. When I said we weretold bar shut at 23:00 he proceeded to slam things around tutting andglaring at me !!! When I explained to the duty manager the next morninghe was very apologetic and would look into it and get back to me. Henever did Also the floor in the breakfast room under table was coveredin crumbs ( we were first in there !!!) The same crumbs we're therenext day Again staff not at all friendly no smiles and tuts when I askedfor ketchup !!!!! wont be returning
Review 81:A very well equip hotel with outstanding staff and customer service. First rate everything! The food is very nice indeed! The view from the terrace is beautiful!
Review 82:The washing facilities weren't good. The plug in the hand basin didn't fit properly and the shower lacked pressure.
Review 83:The staff were generally good although one waiter at breakfast wasn't on task. The location was very good with great views of the coast. The room and (especially) beds were very comfortable.
Review 84:No wi-fi in rooms, decor run down. Could not open windows in bedroom, painted shut and rusty. No parking available even though website said they had parking. Whilst breakfast was reasonable the service was cold and lacking communication.
Review 85:Location
Review 86:I did not realise the imperial was part of the Shearing company when I booked online. felt rather out of place as most guests were older than me and in couples. compared to some guests that I spoke to my charge was high £99per night and I did not have a seaview room. Do feel that I was penalised as a single person.
