Reviews for Premier Inn Sheffield Meadowhall
Review 1:Nothing really.
Review 2:Very comfortable bed and the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Directy opposite Meadowhall with very easy access to their car park. Staff were very friendly although we were checking in at 2.30am.
Review 3:The welcome by the member of staff on our arrival. First impressions counts to us, and she was very welcoming. Secondly the bed was extremely comfy, have not slept so well for months.
Review 4:Although we had made a booking for 2 people there was only 1 bath towel. It was late when we arrived so didn't ask for another at reception just wanted to go to bed. Did mention it to staff when asked the next morning.
Review 5:Friendly welcome, & smooth check in after a long day.
Review 6:We were with our baby, allocated a room for disabled people, the following need addressing 1.0 The bathroom door is so stiff to slide that it defeats the object of the room being for disabled people. Even able people special females would not be able to open and shut the door without great effort. 2.0 Basin: tap opens up suddenly water splashing all over the use as the sink is of low profile, maybe change of the type of tap to more convenient one.
Review 7:Location, staff altitude and maintained cleanliness
Review 8:The only fault was the heating in the room it could not be turned down.
Review 9:This hotel is good if you are going to meadowhall It is a good value hotel. Parking is also very good and the staff are very helpful.
Review 10:Room had a slightly hospital smell air freshener would be nice
Review 11:Wanted a hotel close to Meadowhall shopping this is perfect just a 5 minute walk. Staff very friendly, facilities good breakfast excellent.
Review 12:Location was brilliant for Meadowhall and the stadium. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the rooms were just too hot and unable to get temperature down to acceptable level
Review 13:Fried egg a little cold at breakfast but that's all I could think of !!
Review 14:Staff very helpful. Chef cooked a meal for us before restaurant opening time as we had to be in town early. Staff on reception more than helpful. Rooms very comfortable, wife had a great nights sleep which is unusual due to back problems.
Review 15:We could not find anything to complain about.
Review 16:Staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for us,nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly polite and courteous. Will certainly be staying again.
Review 17:Noise from the adjacent street and look of contractors clientele hanging around in working clothes.
Review 18:Shower massage head, I loved it, much higher pressure then in my house, lot's of water coming, very relaxing after hard training.
Review 19:Wi-fi was intermitent, poor reception. Room not set-up for 2 people, no alarm, no phone to reach reception
Review 20:Location, coffee in the morning, cleanliness.
Review 21:Not knowing the area our Gps navigator kept sending us round and round. Wasted over half an hour finding the place.
Review 22:Good clean room and friendly staff. Meals were ok
Review 23:Conveniently placed near Meadowhall and motorway with plenty of free parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was clean and spacious and, as always, you get a great night's sleep! :)
Review 24:The staff were the most lovely we have ever come across in any hotel all over the world. We asked for a few extra things in our room and got the straight away. The bed was unbelievable comfortable and the bath towels lovely and big. Loved the way you could change how powerful you wanted the shower.
Review 25:1. We were put in a disabled room that had a lower wardrobe bar for the clothes. This is obviously for someone who may need wheelchair access. However, they have inserted a shelf under the rail making it impossible to hang shirts without them being creased up therefore needed to use the coat rail to hang our clothes. (Room 21) 2. At breakfast waited over 30 minutes for poached eggs when we asked the server Joanne she said they had broken and were being done again. In the 30 minutes they could have done them several times she should have just said they had forgot our order. We waited on both mornings for a long time before being shown to a table. The staff are not very good at making eye contact and spend a lot of time avoiding customers. Would not stay there again.
Review 26:Location for Meadowhall shopping
Review 27:The rooms were unbearably hot even with the fan on. We had the window open which then was extremely noisey due to traffic. My daughter was swimming at English nationals the weekend of our stay and hers and the rest of the groups sleep was very uncomfortable and disturbed due to heat of the room.
Review 28:Rooms were clean and modern. Good location.friendly staff.
Review 29:See above.
Review 30:Stayed with my daughter and family and they had a terrible stay. The room was too hot and they didn't sleep for two nights. Eventually the staff transferred them to another hotel, but no refund.
Review 31:The staff went beyond and above been helpful I ve never stayed at a hotel with such consistency on how friendly and helpful the staff were. I ve stayed in other premiere inns and this was by far the best.
Review 32:The children's beds we a bit uncomfortable, not really suitable for a child over 11 years old. A few more deals would be good, the normal meal deal wasn't flexible enough for us. However, it was still better quality and price than TGI's next door.
Review 33:Staff were helpful and polite, food was good. Easy to get to. A good base as we were at an Ice Hockey Tournament down the road.
Review 34:The room was far too hot. We opened the windows and the noise was awful....it was a Saturday evening.....and so we had to close the windows in the end as it was so noisy. I had asked for a higher floor, quiet room as we had competitions on over the weekend and was told that although our room was not the one requested that it would be quiet. It wasn't. Ask for a higher floor, car park side and I think that it would be quieter. We did try and use air con but it appeared that there wasn't any. However, having said all of that I would stay there again and ensure a better room.
Review 35:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The little bar was good.
Review 36:Bath was too high and made getting in and out unsafe. Hairdryer was not powerful at all, TV was much to small for everyone to watch.
Review 37:The staff and location. The ease of extra beds.
Review 38:Given a disabled room Family above thudding on the floor all evening until bed, then started again at 6am next day. Room by noisy road, windows were double glazed but not that effective! Tomatoes in evening meal and at breakfast tasteless! Did pass this on.
Review 39:Nice friendly staff, free wifi, free parking.
Review 40:Too noisy,, cleaning poor, not given 2 bath towels. Only 2 tea bags, should be at least four, did not think it was value for money.
Review 41:Beds comfortable , breakfast good, staff friendly and very heloful
Review 42:the first room we had was really hot and had a lot of road noise but we were swapped to a different room which was so much better.
Review 43:The staff, their friendliness and willingness to help. 5 minutes to Meadowhall, 10 min to nearest tram stop
Review 44:Nothing was too much trouble for the polite and friendly staff. Clean and tidy hotel, good value for money. We will stay here again on our next visit to Sheffield
Review 45:Tap was abit wild in bathroom, we told the staff when we checked out and they was going to sort it!!
Review 46:Fantasic stay, great staff, clean and the bed omg so comfy i wanted to take it home!! Deffo recommend and so close to the places we wanted to go' TGI fridays, moto arena, pubs and medow hall shopping centre!
Review 47:The restaurant opened when we had to go out so maybe starting restaurant earlier or do light bites from midday? Also I couldn't connect to Internet and when I did it was slow and kept kicking me off.
Review 48:Liked the 2 for 1 drinks in the bar, bed was so comfy and relaxing.
Review 49:Only one set of towels in the room but you have to go to reception to ask for more.
Review 50:Room was large, bed was comfortable, located next door to TGI Fridays which was also a good choice. Staff very nice too. Couldn't ask for more on a stop off en route to Lancashire.
Review 51:The bathroom looked spotless but smelled odd. Possibly of stale urine? You need to clean round base of sink taps.
Review 52:The hotel was conveniently situated near the motorway. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. They were incredibly helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed and pillows were so comfortable that I would have loved to sleep for longer!. The shower was amazing too. The breakfast was really good with lots of choice. We had a stress free and very comfortable stay Very good value for money.
Review 53:Great location for the arena, all the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a meal at night and also the breakfast in the morning witch again the staff was great and the food was spot on. Very Happy
Review 54:Nothing to report. It was all fantastic.
Review 55:The staff where so helpful, the bed was amazing so comfortable, the breakfast was yummy, very gd location, nr rail, main shopping centre & 15/20 mins drive to Hospitals so very gd location.
Review 56:I could not control the heater, it was set up and fixed on 23degrees or you can go lower. but when you have a shower and come out of the bath you like the heat a bit warmer. this was not possible.
Review 57:The bed , I always value the bed in Premier INN better than anywhere else.
Review 58:The bed was uncomfortable. The toilet was difficult to flush properly. The bathroom sink tap - the force of the water made it splash out of tge sonk onto your clothes
Review 59:Staff were extremely polite & helpful. The Chef cooked pancakes becuase my son asked - Outstanding The staff tried to repair faults when reported.
Review 60:When we went into the room it didn't look 100% tidy and partner ocd So put a dampen on his.first part of trip bit soon forgot about.it when we had dinner and breaky and prices, (not to messy bits on floor near bed. What looked like stain on tea coffee milk n sugar holder n bathroom needed abit of freshner in my
Review 61:Lovely service it was very tentive n great money wise really enjoyed it had a brill sleep, the breakfast was gawjus my favourite part was unlimited costa Coffee if ya a coffee lover breakfast here is the place for you
Review 62:The wifi was quite slow when trying to use. Also we got charged twice for our meal in the hotel and disturbed us at 10 pm to do so, even with a do not disturb sign showing.
Review 63:I really enjoyed my stay at the meadowhall premier inn hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the meals were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and I felt at home instantly.
Review 64:Lights were poor, bedside lights not very good, you could not get them to a good angle to read in bed. all in all none of the lights were bright enough
Review 65:Most things other than lights by bed
Review 66:Though wifi was free, the connection was rather poor but then I was told they were having problems with it anyways.
Review 67:The room was spacious, neat, quiet and comfy. You would literally relax as soon as you step into the room and all the staff were very friendly and warm.Very good value for money.
Review 68:Slight cock up with the room they put us in, but changed it with no problem. Located very close to Meadowhall and EIS but need a taxi if you arrive late at night at Meadowhall station
Review 69:Staff are really friendly. Breakfast is great. Rooms very clean, functional and comfortable.
Review 70:Great service, with friendly and helpful staff. The kettle in the room blew the electric, after telling reception they were up straight away to sort problem
Review 71:Bed was abit wonky in the middle
Review 72:I normally avoid Premier Inns as they have a tendensy to be ruined by stag and hen parties, but this one was lovely. Good deal on food and drinks, clean welcoming reception and nice comfortable rooms.
Review 73:Childrens beds not very good or comfy if your child is over 5"4
Review 74:Breakfast Large comfy double bed Ground floor Quiet 2 for 1 at the bar Friendly
Review 75:Had a room on 1st floor that had floor above, very noisy when people walking above room. In this day and age would be good to offer free wifi - not just restricted to 30 mins
Review 76:Easy walking distance to Meadowhall etc
Review 77:Shower wasn't very powerful but facilities were clean.
Review 78:Location was perfect, stones throw away from Meadow hall and 15min walk from the arena. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were lovely and welcoming.
Review 79:would have liked a hand towel each, would request one next time, but only staying one night so didn't bother.
Review 80:Ideally situated as we were visiting Meadowhall shopping centre , and the arena to see a show, both within easy walking distance. We had an evening meal at the hotel, and it was excellent.
Review 81:Couldn't buy a pint as broken gas and no tables for breakfast and when was seated practically all food was gone and waiting while for fresh
Review 82:Staff did all they could to help but all out of there control
Review 83:Nothing
Review 84:Liked that it was within walking distance of the Motorpoint arena and Meadow Hall. The room was spacious and facilities were good. Enjoyed the breakfast, the times will suit everyone
Review 85:The breakfast was terrible, cold and dried out food plus the bed was really firm
Review 86:Location was excellent, easy to get to Meadowhall, and motorpoint arena
Review 87:We were put in a disabled room with low bed and it wasn't comfortable ..the worst we've stayed in at a premier inn ever When we mentioned it to girls on desk the excuse was it was probably all that was available will be writing to premier in as this review will not be passed on
Review 88:Staff were friendly helpful. And especially the young girl on the bar at the in the evening
Review 89:Everything from start to finish was great, staff, room, food, superb value for money, would recommend the room and meal deal, we were going to go for meal before going to motorpoint arena but weather wasnt very good so had the room and meal deal which was a drink and two courses plus an all you can eat breakfast fantastic choices staff were excellent, couldnt do enough. would recommend it, well done to all staff !
Review 90:Only issue we had was that at breakfast food wasn't replaced quick enough as staff hadn't noticed that food was running low so a few people including ourselves were waiting .
Review 91:Comfortable experience . Staff very friendly n helpfully. Food was good. Would stay again.
Review 92:We were told on check in that if we didn't want to leave the room we could send a text and someone would come to our room to sort out any problems! We had an issue with the heating so sent the text but no one came or replied. Therefore cold room before we went out & boiling hot all through out the night! Also had a room at the back near to the tram line which kept both me & my partner awake all night! We were not told this at check in!
Review 93:We where in room 20 and had really noisy people above us. It was gone 11 by the time the settled. They woke us up at 5:20 banging across the floor and again at 7:30. people need to have a little respect for others sleeping below. It sounded like there was a herd of elephants going across the floor.
Review 94:location to meadowhall
Review 95:Staff were very accommodating my niece was sick and it was no bother coming and changing her sheets. Breakfast was brilliant and staff were very obliging very children friendly.
Review 96:Breakfast was very disorganised and you had to constantly wait for the breakfast items to be refilled. However it was tasty.
Review 97:General feel of the hotel was relaxed and welcoming.
Review 98:Scrambled eggs was mushy watery but that's just a small thing
Review 99:Opposite Meadowhall to do some shopping and was only ten minute walk to motor point arena to watch Disney on ice
Review 100:Bit of a nightmare getting out of the car park and across three lanes of traffic to get to M1 South.
Review 101:Very close to Meadowhall Complained about cold room and when we got back a heater had been put in so room was fine. TGI Fridays next door. Though we didn't use it the restaurant looked welcoming and comfortable.
Review 102:Nothing!
Review 103:Ideal location for Motorpoint arena (just a short walk) and right next to Meadowhall shopping centre. Price included breakfast which was good too and a varied selection.
Review 104:One side of the main bed was "squeaky" and I think this was because we had a roll out bed from under this section for our daughter
Review 105:Location Breakfast
Review 106:Comfortable and spacious room. Proper bed rather than sofa bed for children. Very clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.
Review 107:On returning to the hotel after the concert we attended we wanted to collect our room key from reception. There was no-one there and all staff were serving drinks in the bar. We repeatedly pressed the reception bell and again no answer. After what seemed like 5/10 minutes of repeated pressing of the reception bell someone did eventually come and hand us our room key which took all of 5 seconds!!!!
Review 108:We stayed in room 1 next to the generator which omitted a continuos hum.
Review 109:Location was great, we booked the room as we were attending the Paulo Nutini concert nearby. Easy walking distance to the arena lots of good quality eateries in the area. Room was spotless, shower great and extra tea and coffee was available in reception.
Review 110:My guests and I would have had to wait an hour before having a Sunday evening meal as there was only one chef! I found it strange to have to pay for using wifi.
Review 111:The welcome was excellent, professional but warm and friendly. The room was big, well-equipped, very quiet and comfortable with a HUGE bed and a choice of pillow softness. Plenty of parking space. Easy to find from motorway.
Review 112:All was fine - good value for money.
Review 113:Friendly and efficient staff Clean room with good facilities Useful to have restaurant/bar on site - though did not use them this time! Convenient location
Review 114:little things that make a difference. As weather has been so hot they had left a spare sheet in case it was too hot for a quilt. Good powerful shower with plenty of hot water.
Review 115:the room was very hot, and we had to change room, as there was two children beds in our room, and we pay more for our room than our friends and they had two children.
Review 116:location was very good and staff very friendly
Review 117:Nothing to dislike about the place.
Review 118:The location for Meadowhall Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent food and very good value. Rooms are the usual high standard, clean, comfortable, quiet.
Review 119:Noise from motorbikes setting off early and leaving bike running right beneath guest windows instead of just leaving. Maybe bikes could parked nearer exit if they intend leaving early as there is plenty of parking available.
Review 120:Staff very welcoming and accommodating. We had booked a family room but the had only reserved a double but on seeing us immediately arranged the set up of bed for the child.
Review 121:Silly I know! but the television would have been better on the wall facing the bed. It was on a unit facing the window.
Review 122:Friendly staff. Great location for Meadowhall shopping.
Review 123:Entrance: People standing directly outside the entrance smoking Food: Asked for a blue steak, got a medium one. Asked for a large glass of wine, got a medium and was charged for a large.
Review 124:Room and check in staff were great
Review 125:Building and the room were far too hot! Lack of mirrors - not ideal when 4 women are getting ready to go out!
Review 126:Location was great for EIS Facilities Cleanliness Comfort of beds etc
Review 127:Only 30 minutes free Wifi.
Review 128:We stayed for 2 nights, on arrival our room was on the ground floor & had been freshly painted. Big spacious room, with spare sheets, towels & pillows. Free toiletries & tea/coffee. Nice little bar area where we sat & had a few drinks. Seemed to be used not only by guests but also by staff working nearby. Breakfast was a buffet layout with all the usual continental & fry up ingredients. Porridge and omelettes could be made on request. While paying for breakfast on Sat morning we mentioned the smell of paint & asked if we could be moved. Hotel was full & we were immediately offered an apology & a refund for the night. We declined and decided to leave the window open with fans on all day while we were out. Staff on reception agreed that if there was any cancellations they would contact us & we could swap rooms. Paint fumes were still strong that night & I woke up with a headache at 4am. At breakfast the guy who we had spoken to on Sat morning remembered & asked how the room was, when we told him about the smell, he immediately arranged a free breakfast & a full refund for Saturday night. No quibbles just refunded straight back onto the payment card. This is a lovely, clean & quiet hotel with a really friendly team of staff - a lot more than expected for the money we paid. Our daughter's in Uni at Sheffield & we have stayed in about 5 different hotels over the last year but we will definitely be back here.
Review 129:Lights in room so dull I could hardly see to read my book in bed. Very annoying, but not the staff's fault, it's to do with the new light bulbs. The ones chosen were insufficient to read by - lucky I didn't need to do any close work like sewing on a button - would have been impossible!
Review 130:Friendly, helpful staff, very attentive. Easy to find, rooms lovely and big. Comfy bed.
Review 131:No air con No phone for reception contact Bed was uncomfortable People banging on the ceiling Bath was extremely shallow
Review 132:The size of room The amount of plugs
Review 133:Facilities were great beds are incredibly comfortable staff were great friendly and helpful breakfast was lovely Sparkling cleanliness all round great hotel
Review 134:We stayed for one night and had a great nights sleep. The room was clean and the staff were polite and helpful. There wasn't much noise and the location was great for travel I would stay here again
