Reviews for Elpida Village
Review 1:Honestly can't think of anything important
Review 2:A charming hotel on a steep hill with great views. Rather quite since it was the end of the season, but for the best. Friendly staff, good food a cozy - if basic - room.
Review 3:Too many stairs to walk for a family with young children or elder people! No wifi in the room and no refrigerator in the room while others did have!
Review 4:Great location! We really enjoyed the view from our balcony and the pool outdoors! Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 5:The wi-fi is probably the only downside to the hotel, with everyone having modern mobile phones and tablets the only wi-fi access is by the lobby and it would often cut out, especially when everyone is trying to connect. They need to provide it to more places in the hotel even if not available in the rooms. They also needed to label the food so people know if they need to avoid any due to allergies.
Review 6:A quiet sandy beach was a short walking distance with a couple more a few minutes further. The staff were always pleasant and the rooms were cleaned every couple of days with the cleaners working hard in the communal areas every day. There was a variety of different food options each day however they need to show labels and possibly add a bit more choice (there was a meat stuff with then either a pasta or potato, however there was always a good selection of salad and cold side dishes). A lot of people complained about breakfast but there was always cereal, a cooked option and fresh fruit and yoghurt which I felt was sufficient. The pool was warm and there were plenty of sunbeds. The outdoor cinema was a nice feature. The evening activities were a little basic and catered a bit more we felt towards the other European nationalities as both 'entertainers' were of the same culture however the daytime activities seemed more enjoyable (we only participated in the evening ones as we often spent more time away from the hotel during the day).
Review 7:That we stayed for just a few days. And it was a bit windy...
Review 8:Great location, friendly staff, good food, elegant decor. We wish we could stay longer. But we'll be back!
Review 9:Not much to write here. I would like wifi in the room, and I was promised it will be available for next season. Thats all.
Review 10:Spent a few great days at the Elpida Village. Great location, near some amazing beaches and magical sunset views. Perfectly mixed cocktails at the bar and authentic greek coffee.
Review 11:Abscence of fridge in the room
Review 12:Staff friendliness Location
Review 13:Apartment unclean, and the cleaner just emptied the bins when she came even the bin liners were too small for the large kitchen bin. The sheets were clean but the top covers were dirty and had the previous occupants hair all over them the mattresses were sunk in the middle giving you instant backache. the shower curtain was grubby and stained and allowed water to go allover the floor which didnt run down the drain there for making the bathroom a swimming pool so you had to soak it up with towels which the cleaner eventually after 3 days took away. The apartment was meant to be self catering but I wouldnt have tried not with what was available. The retaurant was also poor I'm really glad i wasnt all inclusive the coffee machine gave warm coffee and the milk option didnt work, the cordial not juice was too watered down to be recognisable the cooked food was always luke warm the cereal available was cheap cornflakes and chocco flakes. There was boken glass round the pool and dead flies and beetles floating on top so we didnt use it. You could try to use the excuse that the hotel was closing the following weekend but I dont think that would be correct. I will never stay there again .
Review 14:It was near the coast.
Review 15:We got a room with a little view of mountains even though the request was for the sea view. The room was very small and dark. There was no fridge. I also saw some little bugs in the bathroom and we had a problem with the toilet flush.
Review 16:The hotel area looked nice. There was a nice pool with sunbeds. Amazing mountains and sea view from the pool and bar areas. The breakfast was okey. There was no fresh juice what is not so common in Crete and some products looked a bit old. The staff was not very sincerely friendly, but we got what we needed. There is also a nice sandy beach a bit further from the hotel.
Review 17:The town is not a very touristic one, not very clean, looks desolating. Some hotel rooms needs renovation.
Review 18:The renovated part of the hotel is very beautiful, nice view from the restaurant. Very beautiful beach but it is quit much to walk if you don't have a car. The food is just ok, we liked that we had fish quit often, but it is not really the creamy, tasty food we were learned up-till now in Greece to other hotels we stayed.
Review 19:Very friendly staff, especially Ms. Maria and Mr. Nikolaos from the reception always smiled and very helpful. Very nice swimming pool area, with lots of sun beds and also shaded areas. Very good cleaning service. I stayed in the apartment I would call value for many, though I stayed with my family most of time out of room - therefore I was happy to pay reasonable and did not expect something extraordinary. I recommend to stay on the grand flour as you can expect also a small garden. Extremely good location regarding quality of the beach (the second one - white sun and good/cheap equipment (umbrela and 2 beach beds for 2,40 Euro per day). Istron i consider as village, I love it in contrast to big holiday cities with lots of hotels, shops and promoters’ of restaurants - here good restaurants again with value for money menu. Extremely good hotel vie from apartments and restaurant. Extremely comfortable coffee open air area outside the lobby. I higly recommend the hotel. Thanks a lot Elpida.
Review 20:Breakfast was poor and bad taste!
Review 21:Elpida is the perfect location to visit Istron Golden Beach. The hotel is good enough, and the price good too.
Review 22:The cockroach...
Review 23:Very helpfull staff!
