Reviews for Seawold Guest House

Review 1:There's nothing I didn't like about the place.

Review 2:I liked the warm welcome, the hospitality, I had b&b and enjoyed it very much, I also hired a car and parking was ample, a fantastic location and most of all there lovely people that run it.

Review 3:As I said the room was a little small and the furniture a little dated

Review 4:Seawold is in a good position close to the beach, shops and the bus stops. My room was spotless if a little small but as I was there for one night only it was fine. The price ws very reasonable

Review 5:The owners were very friendly and very helpful. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. It could have done with being updated but I believe this was in hand for this coming winter. I would definately stay again. It was excellent value. Very well placed being just across from the sea and beach. And there was a bus stop close by where buses could be caught all over the island. There was an excellent pub/resturant with in a short walk and the owners could not have been more helpful. They booked trips for me and gave directions. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Review 6:We were only there for one night. The bed was a little firm. Noise from people moving around upstairs, or talking in the hall carried into our room. There wasn't a beach view.

Review 7:The room size was good and had clothes hanging space for two. Breakfast was well organised. The managers were friendly. Wi-fi was available on a computer set up in the lounge area. They are trying to extend it to all rooms. It seemed dated, part of the charm but was comfortable enough.

Review 8:Great location inbetween St Aubin and St Helier with regular buses in both directions. The beach in only 2 minutes walk from the front door. The cooked breakfasts were lovely and kept me going throughout the day.

Review 9:Nothing to add here.

Review 10:Location was great, very close to the seafront and, as we didn't have a car, close to the airport and local bus route. Staff and food, both breakfast and evening meal, were excellent. The weather was brilliant for the time of year - September.

Review 11:Car park very awkward when busy. Whole place very dated but for the price to be expected.plus-the one night we wanted an evening meal they did not do Saturday's!

Review 12:staff very pleasant, food good, Well situated away from the busy road

Review 13:This is a basic guest house, so, if you don`t like fuss & frills it will be great for you. The cleanliness is excellent and the owners will do all they can to accommodate your wishes. Menu is limited but the standard of the food cooked is excellent. We have already booked for next year.

Review 14:The Seawold is at the main bus routes, ideal when exploring the island by bus. I found the owners and staff very helpful indeed, my room was comfortable. There was a nice lounge which I used only very little as the weather during my stay was perfect. An altogether pleasant experience.

Review 15:I only had one minor quibble and it was that breakfast was very hurried. I hate rushing breakfast.

Review 16:I loved that the management and staff were so friendly and helpful. very hard to beat.

Review 17:The shower in our room was poor - very difficult to control the temperature. We would like WiFi in our room. Although repeatedly asked for child sized portions of food, meals produced , although excellently prepared, were too large.

Review 18:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff

Review 19:I found the place had little character, noisy being on a main road (even from the back), lady receptionist pleasant enough but there was no real welcome from anybody. No "how was your journey?" The breakfast was OK, but in a dull back room.

Review 20:Convenient for the bus and the seafront, clean.

Review 21:Waiting to get on the computor at night .Same person every night occupied the computor..Maybe a rule of 1 hour on the comptor then 1 hour off, just to let other people have a go ,.

Review 22:Being able to get a evening meal at SEAWOLD was great. The Chef is very good./

Review 23:Guesthouse was not family friendly as advertised. Lounge area was like an old peoples home. Manager made my son feel awkward asking him if he was being noisey in our room. He is 7 and this should of been mentoned first to me the parent. Restaurant was cramped and no child evening meal option on offer.

Review 24:Location was fantastic. Bus service outside was accessible for all areas and airport. St Aubins beach opposite.

Review 25:Great location. Owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was very pleasant and the whole guesthouse is spotlessly clean. The breakfast - superb! We had an evening meal and it was delicious, all freshly cooked and beautifully presented -would have paid much more elsewhere. We will return for another visit soon.

Review 26:Loved it all.

Review 27:Great place to stay -- great location. Walk to the beach, great restaurants, very central to other beaches around the island. Really exceptional free book-exchange, too, along with games in the lounge. Very homey.

Review 28:Breakfast was skimpy and the breakfast staff made one feel uncomfortable even asking for an extra sausage.

Review 29:Good location. Friendly staff, Clean rooms. Very quiet. Great night sleep assured. Beside a bus stop. Good parking. Beside restaurants.

Review 30:As we were last to check in, had 2 twin beds. Would have preferred double. Pillows need replacing.

Review 31:You get what I expect from a good guesthouse. Very clean, nice breakfast and somewhat dated. Staff were exceptionally good and the owners are very nice. Good location for getting around without a car.

Review 32:Alot of noise could be heard from the room upstairs

Review 33:The proprietors of the hotel were very nice and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and they were extremely accommodating.

Review 34:The Smoking on the patio this should be a none smoking area. Smokers should be well away from others at all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole site could be no smoking as its so close to the esplanade which has ample seating.

Review 35:Value for money very friendly would not hesitate to book again as a single holiday Would be good for groups.

Review 36:Apart from our bathroom, we found NOTHING to dislike about our stay at the Seawold.

Review 37:The location was great for us. With the property being on several bus routes, no need to hire a car. We found no problems in getting around from here. A great base for exploring the island.

Review 38:The space for parking our rental car was very smal and difficult to use. However, the owners made sure we always had a park.

Review 39:The owners and staff were very accomodating and made sure our stay was great. The service was outstanding and very welcoming.

Review 40:The shower was terrible, very little water pressure and it took an age for hot water to come through. The bed was comfortable, but was a very small single bed. Breafast was so-so, the breakfast staff were a little surly and the room was poorly-laid out (I really didn't want to share my table with a noisy family @ 8am!).

Review 41:Nicely located between St Aubin & St Helier (I was house-hunting in both). Friendly welcoming reception staff (despite a late check-in, large room, comfortable bed.

Review 42:I have only two Comments. We had a family room on the 3rd floor. They need to update the Showers, and I am told a planned renovation in October 2015 will solve that issue. Second a repeater on the WiFi would be helpful to get a signal to the rooms instead of just the common areas.

Review 43:Silvia and Carlos were the friendliest and proprietors. They help at every turn from a welcoming hello to providing beach towels. They have taken a older less maintained (prior owners) hotel and turned it into a very nice comfortable and welcoming guest house (hotel). They have a full English Breakfast available and it is well managed. They have 20+ rooms that are comfortable and well maintained. I highly recommend them should you visit Jersey. They are across the street from a Relatively nice Beach and only meters away from two bus stops. (BTW using the Bus to get around is an excellent way to see the island).

Review 44:Nothing really, small family run B&B incl. breakfast at a reasonable price, clean room, WIFI - suited the purpose of our visit

Review 45:Personal approach, we stayed here as a group to support our children who were participating in the Island Games. Location perfect mid-way pool/St Helier with excellent bus service on our door step

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:Location , helpful staff , went out of their way (cheerfully even) to provide gluten free breakfast. Provided fridge and facilities for guests to enjoy their own drinks.

Review 48:We liked everything, we went over to support our swim team taking part in the Island Games and everything was perfect. Carlos and Silvina are the perfect hosts any Guest House could wish for. A big THANKYOU for the beautiful Portugese food cooked for us by Carlos on our last evening in Jersey.

Review 49:So welcoming and friendly. A spacious and airy room with Jersey cows view. Charming dining room and very comfortable lounge but, above all, as clean as a whistle and the friendliest of staff. Thank you Sylvina and Carlos for a lovely holiday

Review 50:This was my third stay here and as usual very friendly and felt like home. Bus top right outside so easy to travel around the island. I was leaving early so arranged the bill the night before and was offered tea/coffee and cereal to left out for me since I was leaving before breakfast.

Review 51:Only down side was a poor shower pressure in my room, dribbles out

Review 52:Location, staff, perfect for my week working at a golf tournament, on the bus route to the whole island

Review 53:The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had our car with us and there was good parking available on site. We used the regular bus service to St Helier, and there is a stop very near to the guest house.

Review 54:i feel the sink should be in the bathroom so you could wash your hands before pulling the light cord which everyone has to pull

Review 55:bed so comfy witb lovely warm duvet and good firm pillow. centrally based in st aubins

Review 56:Clean and well run guest house. Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere with the staff being polite and obliging. The availability of free car parking just off the promenade and on the main bus route into St Helier was attractive too. Finally, the free wi fi was a useful feature during our stay.

Review 57:These are not dislikes -more things that could be improved. The room we had could do with a 'make-over', e.g. the headboards were grubby and the anaglypta wallpaper a bit out of date. Breakfasts were ok but no fresh fruit, yoghurts or things like croissants. Cooked breakfasts could have had some variations e.g. scrambled egg on toast.

Review 58:Good value for money, owners and staff friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The standard of cleanliness was generally high, and the room was plenty big enough for us and our granddaughter.

Review 59:Nothing Bad at all

Review 60:We were 2 couples visiting Jersey for the first time. We think everything about the Guest House was perfect, The Location, The Cleanliness, the Staff. Carlos & Sylvina the owners were so helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us (Our friend had a cold so Sylvina made her a hot lemon & Honey drink and took it to her room). We would definitely stay here again and if asked would highly recommend it.

Review 61:Nothing negative to say.

Review 62:Silvina and Carlos are very friendly and accommodating, even when my flight was cancelled and needed to stay another night. Good breakfast. Comfy rooms, nice relaxed atmosphere. Perfect stay for sole travellers.

Review 63:Busy road outside the guest house and the ensuite shower room could do with a make over.

Review 64:The proprietors were very warm, friendly and helpful when dealing with guests. The guest house was very comfortable and each time we returned at the end of the day the room had been cleaned, the beds made up and towels arranged - a real attention to detail that made our stay such a pleasure. The breakfast was also excellent. The road outside the guest house is busy but its location is very good to get to a variety of places.

Review 65:Great staff. Excellent breakfast. Excellent value. Location is just across the road from the sea and St Helier is accessible by bus or a nice walk along the coastal footpath. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.

Review 66:Good location, on local bus route, handy for the beach. Accommodation clean and excellent value for money. Breakfast good The owners were very friendly and helpful, their aim to ensure everyone enjoyed their stay.

Review 67:there whas nothing I didn't like it whas a guest house and good value for money the breakfast whas very good and premesies clean I have just come back from a so called hotel in blackpool wich whas a lot dearer than seaworld but seaworld whas 100 per cent better

Review 68:the owners were very helpful and explained places to eat etc and buses to town also liked the fact they sat at reception till late evening as it whas only a guest house a very nice feeling to be greeted going in or out

Review 69:The rooms were a bit small and the sink not being inside the ensuite.

Review 70:.Great location, good and easy to locate bus route. Friendly and helpful couple, always on hand, running the guest house. Lovely lounge with the added convenience of being able to consume your own drink. Every effort was made to accomodate our food requirements.

Review 71:None.

Review 72:Friendly and helpful proprietors and staff. Room was well serviced. Towels changed as needed and tea-making facilities fully stocked. Good breakfast. Excellent location for beaches, points of local interest and frequent bus services to St Helier and other locations.

Review 73:Had to leave at 7.35am to catch plane home and breakfast could not be provided despite foreknowledge of this.Rather cursory check in.

Review 74:on bus route to airport. Clean room with all the usual facilities

Review 75:Having to go home

Review 76:Carlos and Silvinia were excellent hosts, the dining room staff were very efficient ensuring you were satisfied. A good location for the local bus service making it easy to plan trips around the island.

Review 77:The location is excellent, parking, walking along the sea front, eating out, pubs etc., A little old fashioned but that is the charm of the Guest House with a lovely warm welcome.

Review 78:Nothing.

Review 79:The staff were obliging and friendly, the accommodation was homely and clean and the location was great with transport at the front door. We loved our stay and would be very happy to return.

Review 80:noisy neighbours in next room

Review 81:staff friendly. own key giving freedom. Wi-Fi. extras available. room cleaned every day. nothing too much trouble. trips organising available with recommendations bus stop out side. beach less than 1 minute away. everything you need for a relaxing holiday on Jersey.

Review 82:Close to main road so traffic noise is a bit annoying. Very hard uncomfortable pillows.

Review 83:Very friendly staff and owners. Good breakfast, very relaxed atmosphere. Good for a business trip as in an ideal situation to access all parishes. Free off road parking.

Review 84:TV needs upgrading, only channels 1 to 5 available on old style TV.

Review 85:Close to the beach. On the bus route. Excellent breakfast. Dinner available if requested. Small Guest House so not too many people. Excellent people running it, very helpful and pleasant.

Review 86:The bathroom facilities were functional but basic e.g. the shower cubicle had a curtain instead of a door

Review 87:good food and the staff were very willing to go the extra mile

Review 88:Everything was good - accommodation, location, good mix of other guests who got on well in the comfortable lounge in the evening. Owners were helpful and obliging.

Review 89:Nothing really....

Review 90:The location gave easy access to all areas of Jersey! The Guest House was welcoming, Paulo and Silvina are the perfect hosts. Would stay at Seawold again and again!

Review 91:Breakfast good, very willing to accommodate coeliac. Decor is very outdated but staff are really helpful and it is 30seconds from beautiful beach and bus stop and 10 minutes walk to bars and restaurants.

Review 92:- little waiting for receptionist, - early breakfast only on request. - poor space for chairs in dining room

Review 93:+ Location=close to sea walk, bus stop, + Comfort room, clean bathroom, + enough space, hot water, + wide good breakfast.

Review 94:Car park a bit cramped when busy and some dodgy parking by other guests! Gained a couple of (minor)scuffs on bodywork :-( However, ample alternative parking at a very reasonable rate only 20 yards or so across the road.

Review 95:Great location. Beach about 2 minutes walk. St Helier within walking distance (45 minutes ish)Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The owners took a pride in the guest house and were very helpful. Nice breakfast and helpful/friendly waiter. Explained everything fully on arrival - including need to run hot water for a little while and alternative parking (just across the road). Nice little extras - fridge in communal lounge in which to keep milk/alcoholic beverages/snacks etc. Would absolutely, definitely recommend.

Review 96:single room was a bit small. The sausages were tasteless.

Review 97:very homely and staff were friendly and helpful.I would certainly stay there again as it was very central, near airport and st Helier and only metres from a beautiful beach.

Review 98:Wish we could have stayed longer

Review 99:We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seawold. We started the day with a very good breakfast, plenty of choice. Each evening we relaxed in the lounge meeting other guests and enjoying the banter with Carlos. You can access the local bus service from bus stops a very short walk from the guesthouse. Lovely pub/bistro just a 5min walk or you could take the bus to St Aubins where you had more great restaurants to choose from. Carlos and his wife were available to answer any queries at anytime and were very helpful on advising bus times, local places to visit etc. Would recommend this guesthouse to all my friends.

Review 100:Location on main bus line makes travel around island easy Friendly owners help with local activities Just across the street from St. Aubin's Bay, lovely walk in to town in about ten minutes

Review 101:The room had a very small shower with a shower curtain that stuck to you when wet. Also could do with a small shelf to put your shampoo etc. on.

Review 102:The owners were very nice they couldn't do enough for you.Whilst it isn't licensed they have a fridge in the lounge where you can place your own wine etc. the rooms are very clean and newly decorated.

Review 103:Curtains were too bright - let in very early morning sun.

Review 104:Breakfast was excellent. wiil stay again with them. also excellent pub just up the road - the mussels are fantastic.

Review 105:The decorating is a bit tired and needs updating. Chip paper on the wall needs replacing was very bland.

Review 106:Good situation

Review 107:Internet not available in rooms or breakfast area.

Review 108:Fantastic place - virtually a hotel. Great people and so friendly.

Review 109:Bathroom floor dangerously slippy. Old chintz furnishings. Breakfast area poor. Breakfast average.
