Reviews for Biarritz Hotel

Review 1:Breakfast, for two of our seven days was busy and we were sent to the overflow room. You felt forgotten. Didn't like the fact that only after booking did you find it was a christian hotel without an alcohol licence.

Review 2:Friendly staff and wonderful location

Review 3:My husband mother and I stayed for just a few day at the Biarritz and found it to be a really comfortable, clean and relaxed hotel. The views from our room were wonderful. It's a lovely bay.

Review 4:The location overlooked one of the best bays in Jersey. The view from our balcony was delightful. The staff were most courteous and friendly at all times. The food was top quality. Because the hotel was unlicensed alcohol was not sold but you could provide your own which would be chilled on request.

Review 5:Room had excellent view of the bay Buffet breakfast very good and liked that we could walk down to the beach through hotel gardens Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Review 6:Nothing to report at all.

Review 7:Great location and lovely premises with warm & friendly staff eager to help. Food was of a high standard & fresh with good selection. Everything was clean & tidy & rooms cleaned properly everyday.

Review 8:No comfortable chairs to sit in the room. Hot water took ages to come and was difficult to control in shower!

Review 9:Brilliant location with superb views.Friendly staff although trying to get complete language understanding was frustrating at meals.Good size room.

Review 10:The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a fine view of St. Brelades bay from the balcony. The menus gave a wide choice and the meals were first class.

Review 11:V small weakness...we'd have liked the offer of some fresh fruit for breakfast some days...

Review 12:Our first stay in this spotlessly clean, comfortable, relaxed professional hotel in its fabulous location. Excellent breakfasts for people who want a full, cooked English every single morning..

Review 13:No bad experiences.

Review 14:Restful atmosphere. Staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful. Fantastic views over St. Brelades Bay. The General Manager is hands on and this is very welcome in this fast moving age.

Review 15:nothing really - hotel does not serve alcohol which didn't worry us and is a plus for some people (and if you wanted you could bring your own wine to dinner and have it served without charge) but this is something to be aware of.

Review 16:Excellent Breakfast. Very good location ...just steps through the garden down to the beach. Dinner was good - freshly cooked and nicely presented (but fairly plain food ...not exotic) Room good size with a lovely sea view. Plenty of bars, restaurants etc within a short walk along the beach. There was an earlier review complaining about the water in the bedrooms not being drinking water... the staff were only too happy to provide drinking water from the kitchen when asked - and the staff were without exception all most friendly and helpful. There is an excellent laundry service at £12.00 per bag.

Review 17:This wonderful hotel is rightly proud of its heritage in warmly welcoming guests of all ages, and providing the best for our comfort and enjoyment. No alcohol which produces liveliness without intoxication and thus safe for impressionable young children. Bars and eating places short walk along beach. Excellent staff, nothing too much trouble, very friendly, interacting wonderfully with children and adults alike; fantastic location, best beach in Jersey a few steps down private garden , at quiet safe end of bay, no rowdiness. Rooms airy, light and most wonderful view over bay so staying 'at home' a restful pleasure in itself. Extremelycomfortable, impeccably clean. Programme for children, family oriented activities. Advice, flights and car hire managed if wished. Morning prayers to join if wished, pithy yet thoughtful and relevant short talks from down to earth Methodist minister. Ice cream and coffee bar in hotel and at end of garden by beach.

Review 18:The poor breakfast - tinned peaches!!!! weak coffee. And awful cheap sliced bread. Come on, it's the 21st century. Also there was no lighting on the steep steps to the beach. Easy things to get right, but it looks like they are a bit mean!

Review 19:The location, the friendly manager, the view from the balcony. A safe place for families. Wonderful grand piano.

Review 20:No bad experience at all but would have liked the cafe available more hours during the afternoon especially on rainy days with maybe some cakes or those delicious desserts we had at dinner!

Review 21:Wonderful location overlooking the lovely St Brelade's Bay. All the staff were smiling and friendly. The hotel has a great atmosphere and you feel like a treasured guest, nothing was too much trouble. I must also mention the food was delicious with good choices.

Review 22:It was all good

Review 23:Great location, great value for money. It's alcohol free which was great for me as I had enough at a local bar ! I would definitely use this hotel again

Review 24:Very hot in the room Bed uncomfortable Noisy dripping hours after raining from pipes & gutters outside our windows - which had to remain open due to having to keep windows open at night. Breakfast staff did not help to find a table - & the tea - worst ever no flavour

Review 25:The tap water is not suitable for drinking yet no bottled water was provided. A complementary bottle should be provided. The room was described as as a king room yet the bed was only standard size. Toiletries were only provided on the first day, the sheets were not changed during the 7 nights we stayed. The breakfast did not offer a continental option, there was no cold meats or cheese, no pasties. The cooked breakfast did not offer poached or boiled eggs, the bread was cheap sliced with no option of rolls or uncut bread. The atmosphere is let down by the lack of a bar, ok if you are happy with tea and scrabble which give the feeling of a retirement home.

Review 26:Location and the staff are helpful.

Review 27:On the day of check out, knock on the door at 08.30 to take sheets off the bed. Check out time 10am. We found this unnecessary, we weren't ready and were checking out an hour and a half later anyway. Bed very uncomfortable, felt like a lot of the springs had gone. Very squeaky floorboards - a lot of noise from neighbours / other guests in rooms above.

Review 28:Location was great, staff were friendly (although manager came in to dining room every morning and was quite rude in the way he spoke to other staff members)

Review 29:This hotel was a joy to stay at. It was our first visit to Jersey. The hotel was excellent, and pristene. We will return without a doubt. The view from the room was idyllic. The staff were fantastic. The little descent to the promenade with the beach hut for accessing lunch, marvellous. Fond memories, treasured forever.

Review 30:After a very long hard day I looked forward to returning at 10pm for a glass of wine in the bar but it's teetotal and there is nowhere within walking distance. Probably my fault for not checking

Review 31:Extremely comfortable, clean and very helpful staff

Review 32:Very friendly and extremely helpful staff from arrival to departure. Our room was very well prepared and remained this way during our stay. Amazing views and short walk to the fantastic beach really made our stay the relaxing break we were hoping for.

Review 33:The staff were exceedingly friendly. They did all they could to help me and my grandson. They moved me to a room with a bath. The room was much bigger and had a beautiful view of the bay. The staff played with my 1 year old grandson at meal times. One staff member even bought him a Jersey teddy bear. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I only wish I stayed there for the duration of my visit to Jersey. Thank you so much to all those at the Biarritz Hotel

Review 34:Nothing to dislike

Review 35:This is one of the best 3 star hotels on the island and in a fabulous location ....... It has no bar but plenty of great places to eat and drink in the bay

Review 36:Getting around the hotel a bit tricky when "meetings" are on as they are in the central area

Review 37:Fabulous location overlooking the bay. Friendly staff.

Review 38:Everything! I stay in hotels in Jersey every week on business . This is THE nicest 3 star you'll find and situated in the magnificant St Brelades bay .. Staff are very lovely aswell

Review 39:NOTHING WORTHY OF COMMENT!

Review 40:HOTEL FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED AND STAFF RESPONSE TO OUR NEEDS WERE A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO A VERY ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY!

Review 41:The hotel situated in a lovely quiet spot on the island and has an amazing view of St Brelade bay The hotel itself is very clean, the staff are very helpful, and whilst the food within the hotel is excellent, there are also some superb restaurants situated at the other end of the beach / prom Whole experience led to a very relaxing holiday

Review 42:The quilts were too hot (for me ) which meant I didn't sleep very well but that's just my opinion and shouldn't detract from a wonderful holiday I was just too lazy to ask for a sheet and blanket

Review 43:Everything was lovely the hotel ,rooms, food and scenery was excellent couldn't have asked for a better holiday .

Review 44:Wasn't much we didn't like - could do with more sunloungers on the upper terrace and jet clean these to counter the effect of seagulls! More sunshades would also be appreciated.

Review 45:Superb location - probably one of the best on the island - with lovely views of St. Brelade's bay. Access to the fantastic beach, again the best on the island, down steps through the gardens with great little snack bar at the bottom. Hotel welcoming and very clean. Our room had a great little balcony - again with beautiful views of the bay. Rooms and bathroom modern and quite spacious. Stayed on a B&B basis - traditional breakfast fare, always nice and hot but could be more varied.

Review 46:Creaky bedroom floors, no room safe, breakfasts the same each day, cleaner leaving veranda door unlocked each day which was accessible to other guests, location of our table for breakfast, quality of tv.

Review 47:The view from veranda, bedroom storage, shower room, some free guided tours, car parking space, proximity of bus stops, friendly and helpful receptionists, uncrowded and spacious breakfast / dining room, view from sun deck area, quiet hotel.

Review 48:Im afraid we had seagulls waking us early about 4 o clock in the morning.Unfortunately we did complain about this as baby seagulls were outside our patio and even came into our room.Three days left of our 10 day holiday something was done.

Review 49:Everything about this Hotel was most impressive.Staff were excellent very clean every where.Food was wonderful variation was very good .Wonderful location what a beautiful bay.

Review 50:The professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff who were always willing to meet your needs. The location is perfect for buses, and for the beautiful beach.

Review 51:Whilst the balconies were a pleasure to site out on, the smell of cigaret smoke on a few occasions rather spoilt this experience. Hence clarification on whether smoking was permitted would be beneficial.

Review 52:The staff were managed efficiently and all were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and homely. Location was excellent.

Review 53:Not being able to have a drink before dinner or wine with my meal. I was travelling with my son and we left immediately the next morning....it really is unacceptable for Booking.com not to make this clear. The hotel is a guest house for elderly people with strong Christian beliefs, certainly not a problem in itself but I would preferred to have known before I left Switzerland

Review 54:The general manager accepted my decision to leave after the first night with good grace, even offering to find an alternative hotel for us.

Review 55:This is a Christian hotel, and Booking.com should make that CLEAR when advertising. The atmosphere made us VERY uncomfortable especially as there were Hymns etc being held directly next to breakfast room. Appeals to people 2 generations away from us

Review 56:Very clean hotel

Review 57:Everything... It was above and beyond it's three star cassification and I will stay there again.

Review 58:The restaurant service was a little slow at times.

Review 59:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Menu varied and lots of choice

Review 60:I loved everything about this hotel

Review 61:Awesome service! Really friendly staff! Lovely balconies overlooking the sea! Very clean! Very welcoming!

Review 62:Great location, comfortable room with superb view of the bay.

Review 63:Stunning view from very comfortable room, excellent service and friendly staff

Review 64:Everything!!!!

Review 65:Table

Review 66:Breakfast and staff

Review 67:The wonderful customer service made my holiday worthwhile

Review 68:Needs a bar. If you book on hotels.com or other webpages, you expect a hotel to be a hotel with a bar or some kind of cafe.

Review 69:Nice hotel, nice location

Review 70:Good, well run, organised hotel in a great location

Review 71:The friendliness, the surroundings and the food

Review 72:No gf bread or sweets

Review 80:Nothing not to like ......fabulous location , excellent rooms , staff very helpful and friendly

Review 81:Grat location and very helpful staff

Review 82:The cold Sunday roast. Was well presented though.

Review 83:The location The management and all the staff The food The rooms

Review 84:Only thing I didn't,t like was the steep access steps to the beach, more than made up for by the beautiful views from the hotel.

Review 85:Loved my balcony and beautiful view of the bay. Food was excellent. Staff were so helpful. Bus stop right outside for sightseeing and Hotel would book tours for you if you preferred organised trips.

Review 86:Very friendly staff. Great to walk to the beach in minutes. Clean and comfortable room with plenty space and great views. We had a 2 year old with us and were made to feel very welcome and at ease even although there were few other children (and few as vocal!) due to the time of year. Would definitely go again.

Review 87:The shower was a bit cold even when at its hottest setting.

Review 88:The manager made me feel welcome on my early arrival and arranged for me to have breakfast. He also managed to upgrade me to a sea view suite for a discounted price. All the staff was friendly, delicious breakfast and dinner at a great value, fantastic location at St Brelade's Bay with easy transport links. I'd return in a heartbeat.

Review 89:Just back from Jersey having stayed at the Biarritz Hotel, and everything about the hotel and the staff were excellent. so kind helping my elderly mother, very friendly and helpful, no faults at all. Should be five star!

Review 90:Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Review 91:Great location for walking, catching a bus or going for a drive out, plus a super view over the bay and beach if one wanted to stay put and rest. Friendly helpful staff who made it a hotel stay out of the ordinary. Loved Jersey too.

Review 92:It would have been good to have a bath as well as a shower, especially with a little one.

Review 93:The hotel was very welcoming and made our 6 year old daughter feel very special. She loved the little gifts.

Review 94:Would love arrangements for transport for Boat trips to other islands and the South coastal voyage. Your request above as to who was on holiday fails to fit all travellers - I was NOT part of a 'couple' - I went with my sister

Review 95:Location, friendly atmosphere, kindly service, food variety and presention - overall hotel provides good quality and a most pleasant stay. Recent bedroom renovations have added excellent comfort.

Review 96:dinner was a bit disappointing- not as good as the breakfast. only ate dinner at the hotel once.

Review 97:Location; breakfast; balcony/ views from room; friendly staff;bath as well as shower; very comfortable beds; large flatscreen tv. easy access to beach & restaurants. on bus route= bus stops right outside hotel.

Review 98:would have liked a bar for evenings, and choice of bread rolls & crispbreads for breakfast

Review 99:staff so friendly & helpful, service excellent, all rooms clean, comfortable & welcoming, good range of food choices, wonderful view from dining room & terrace

Review 100:Whilst you could bring your own wine to Dinner as the hotel sold only non alcoholic wine, we felt uncomfortable doing so.

Review 101:Location was beautiful. Room was nice with great view. Staff were very accommodating. Good access to the beach and other amenities. Food was very good value for money.

Review 102:We would have liked air conditioning as the room got very warm withdoor closed,

Review 103:The view from our balcony was exceptional, the steps from our balcony tothe beach was a grand surprise, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 104:everything was lovely, one tiny thing though, a complimentary biscuit in the room, would have made waking up a bit nicer!!!!

Review 105:staff were very friendly, clean comfortable rooms, bright cheerful decor, service very good. location was beautiful, didn't want to go home!!!!!

Review 106:Limited hotel access for the dog.

Review 107:The breakfast were good. The staff are friendly and helpful They welcomed our dog Great location for beach and walks Evening meals excellent Good room sizes Great views

Review 108:Having to cut short our holiday. We. Had to leave on. Wednesday because Condor ferries cancelled the crossing on Saturday 18 may and only offered us an overnight crossing as an alternative. Apart from Wednesday.

Review 109:Everything

Review 110:Booking.com didn't mention on their advert that it was a ChristianHotel with no alcohol served with meals and no Bar. Car park could dowith White lines for parking as many elderly guests in Holiday Hire carstook up so much space it made it difficult to park if you stayed outafter 8pm.

Review 111:Location and comfort
