Reviews for Royal Yeoman B&B

Review 1:Glad we were in the backroom with lovely view, front of huse would have road noise when windows were open. Good double glazing.

Review 2:Staff were very helpful and chatty.

Review 3:I think we were the last booking and had a room at the front. It is on quite a busy main road, even in October, so was a bit noisy although every effort had been made to minimise the noise. Maybe a room at the back would be better.

Review 4:Very welcoming. Good heating and good facilities. Super breakfast with lots of lovely fruit.

Review 5:Owners were a delight in every way, so pleased to assist with our local planning of sightseeing. Cooked a scrumptious breakfast ! Such truly nice people !!!!!

Review 6:Sue was a great host .We only could stay for one night but would recommend it for longer.Comfortable room and good breakfast Was told of a nice pub for evening meal in next village.Enjoyed our stay and would come back if we are in Dorset.

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:Friendly,helpful owners, central location for sightseeing, really good breakfast, room cleaned every day.Good pub in next village for evening meals.Large car park.

Review 9:Our room was on the front and there was considerable road noise. Light came in through the curtains and round the door making getting to sleep difficult.

Review 10:Was on our way west and an ideal spot to stop for the night. On Site Parking and a very nice breakfast friendly hosts.

Review 11:Very friendly welcome from Sue and Gary. We booked two rooms which were both spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped with toiletries, tea, coffee etc Excellent breakfasts

Review 12:It is a shame this is located on the side of a very busy road. However there was a fanlight on the ceiling which looked very expensive and well made which we used rather than opening a window. I wouldn't let this put you off booking a stay here.

Review 13:The proprietors are extremely friendly and welcoming and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. It is a traditional B & B which is very clean and comfortable.

Review 14:Only 1 negative point.... This time of year no radiators on, therefore the lovely fluffy towels when they got wet had no chance of drying. (Clean towels daily would have been good) Also cleaner put towels together to "dry" on towel rail then put wet bath mat on top.....towels even wetter then..... Not impressed! Otherwise a very positive experience.

Review 15:Very frienly helpful owners, all requests responded to. Recommended a place to eat which was close by. Large lovely room with a very comfortable bed( 6 foot I believe) excellent breakfast. Very large car park. Would visit again.

Review 16:Great location for exploring Dorset and further afield. Good secure car parking. Welcoming and friendly hosts, excellent choice at breakfast, clean and comfy room- would definitely stay again.

Review 17:Nothing to report ......

Review 18:Convenient for visiting family. Very comfortable and clean. The host and hostess were extremely friendly and the breakfast was abundant.

Review 19:Only two things, my room was on the road side of the building so there was traffic noise when I opened the window (and the weather was warm so I had to), but I knew this before booking and the location was very convenient for me. The only other thing was the laundry had accidentally used too much fabric conditioner on my sheets and I found the scent very overpowering, it did affect my comfort considerably. If I had stayed more than one night I would have had to ask for different linen for this reason.

Review 20:A very well-kept place, comfortable, clean, easy to find, good parking, absolutely excellent breakfast in pleasant dining room. Very nice bedroom and spacious bathroom. Very pleasant couple running the place. Camping field at the back looked really nice.

Review 21:A little too far from town Dorchester - althought there is a stunning bar/restaurant nearby

Review 22:big beautifull stunning rooms. Breakfast excellent anf hosts friendly

Review 23:The hosts were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit salad was available and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order. It was piping hot, plentiful and delicious.

Review 24:Only downside was traffic noise as situated on a busy road so light sleepers would want to avoid the front bedrooms. This wasn't a problem for us.

Review 25:Very friendly and clean. Breakfasts were excellent. WiFi was very good and didn't require any personal information to be provided unlike some hotels.

Review 26:Only problem was room 4 was on the main road and a bit noisy if you had the window open, also street lamp outside shone into room at night.

Review 27:Breakfast was superb, everything you would wish for. Marion who was standing in for the owners was so helpful and obliging.

Review 28:On a busy road but it didn't worry us. We have stayed before and wouldn't hesitate to return again.

Review 29:Welcoming hosts, very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Appreciated the amazingly quiet ceiling fan in the room. Easy parking.

Review 30:The main light in room was not working and could not be replaced immediately because of style.Traffic noise was annoying

Review 31:Happy greeting on arrival, ample parking off road

Review 32:A little cold in our room but a portable heater was available to use but temperatures were low for the time of year.

Review 33:Great breakfast, very clean, comfortable & beautifully decorated. Lovely area, car park & very friendly staff.

Review 34:Sue & Garry made us very welcome on arrivel .They had to leave on family matters and left us in the capable hands of Marion & Steve also great hosts.

Review 35:Some road noise, which was no worse than any other B&B located on a main road. Also room 4 has a street light outside which meant that the room wasn't fully dark even with the blinds closed. Room 2, which we stayed in for one night, was ok.

Review 36:A nice B&B with cosy rooms. The hosts were very friendly. They also recommended dinner at the Saxon Arms in Stratton (1 mi) that can be walked or driven to, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Review 37:I am a very light sleeper so road a little noises but won't put me off. Have already rebooked for next business trip

Review 38:Everything! Friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble, great room and lovely breakfast.

Review 39:As we were far out it would have been nice to have a bar.

Review 40:Great hosts who made us very welcome. Great cooked breakfast and a variety of additional items. Well decorated rooms.

Review 41:Noise from the road. Traffic, particularly lorries, started about 5am and were disturbing.

Review 42:Very friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

Review 43:Very little not to like really. I'm a bit sensitive to the scent of fabric conditioner, and found the perfume from the bedding a bit overpowering.

Review 44:Sparkly clean, bright and warm, secure parking and a friendly welcome. Sadly they no longer cook on the evening, but took pity on me after my long drive, and magicked up a tasty Cajun chicken. That was most kind! I had to leave before breakfast, as I had an early meeting, but the couple I met in the car park were singing the praises of the cooked breakfast, and were looking forward to it after their morning walk.

Review 45:The bed was too low with a soft mattress that made it uncomfortable and difficult to get up from.

Review 46:Attentive hosts with recommendations for touring and dining. On-site parking, and a quiet location. Great choice of breakfasts, and nice bathroom.

Review 47:Dated décor but this is a personal choice

Review 48:Extra large room (No 1) at back overlooking garden was quiet, comfortable and well furnished with quality bedding and towels. Good size shower, good breakfast with strong tasty coffee. Easy parking.

Review 49:A little dated and there was some rod noise as our room fronted the main road.

Review 50:Friendly family hotel with good breakfast provided and comfortable bed, plus free WiFi.

Review 51:The location was great for Dorchester and Weymouth. The owners were very friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. the room was a good size equipped with everything we needed. would definitely stay again.

Review 52:Garry and Sue are nice and welcoming people. B&B is cozy and quiet.Great location. Awesome breakfast. Free Wi-Fi and free parking.Couldn't ask more.

Review 53:The water pressure was a bit feeble but not the end of the world!

Review 54:Good sized room, the owner was friendly and helpful, comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast, good value for money.

Review 55:Best B&B I have stayed in. The owners were very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The location is great, with the convenience of only being a few minutes from Dorchester, but you still get that relaxed, country side feel. Overall, great value for money and I will stay there again!

Review 56:The room was right beside a very noisy main room, so bad that you couldn't have bedroom window open. The Shower was useless, kept running cold and pressure was bad. The WiFi was not working, good enough to send an e mail, but nothing more. The owners grand child was watching noisy cartoons throughout breakfast on a large TV in dining room.

Review 57:The owner was friendly and the room was clean

Review 58:The shower wasn't brilliant but there was a note in the en suite about that. A bit too far from a good pub with food.

Review 59:The room was ground floor with beams and en suite .plenty of room for clothes and comfy chairs. Breakfast was good with a wide choice at the buffet and a full English.

Review 60:That they were no buses, so had to drive every where. Same with choice of Pubs, only one in the next village and no corner shop at all

Review 61:I liked the friendliness of Sue and Garry and the fact I was made very welcome. Place was homely.

Review 62:Nothing.

Review 63:Breakfasts were excellent, and plenty of it. The room was very clean, spacious and had probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (wanted to bring it home!). Very welcoming cat, too!
