Reviews for Antares Hotel Mani
Review 1:Bit hard to find- but we had not read the detailed instructions sent by the Hotel management. In a protected area where they are not allowed to put up signs, but easy once you find where it is !!
Review 2:Brilliant Hotel. Wonderfully renovated with taste and style. Great breakfasts. Excellent helpful staff. Worth a visit for the Hotel alone. Marvelous views over the countryside and near Aeropolis the closest town.
Review 3:We love this hotel - so much that we stayed an extra night! It’s stunning and in a beautiful setting, in the fields below Areopolis & between the town and the sea. The welcome is great, we had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed which did our backs all power of good and an excellent shower. Breakfast was delicious: home made with local ingredients and freshly squeezed orange juice. The yoghurt was amazing: it came with cherry jam , lime and mint. Try the toast with honey & tahini! Mina and Giorgos were never-failingly and untiringly helpful, a mine of information about the Mani - the local churches Byzantine art, places to swim & also, v. importantly where to eat - they phoned the restaurants to say we were coming - they are the icing on the cake!
Review 4:Leaving
Review 5:Everything, lovely room comfortable bed great shower, fabulous view, from our own terrace. Beautiful gardens and seating areas. Nothing was to much trouble for Mina the perfect hostess.
Review 6:Excellent hospitality in comfortable rooms with great view and exceptional cleanliness. An unforgetable breakfast full of delicious, traditional and homemade tastes. The most important of all is that some people make you feel really welcome to an unknown place.George and Mina are so helpful, generous, open hearted, sensitive, kind and cultured and they adore Mani. They are your special guide to explore it!We are really greatful we met them!
Review 7:Very poor quality of the mattress - the only weak point of this great hotel
Review 8:Great location, remote enough and at the same time strategically situated to discover the whole Mani peninsula. Very knowledgeable staff - Mina and Giorgos gave us very good advices on secret places not to be missed :-) Scrumptious breakfast made of local high quality products
Review 9:This is a very special place ! It's beautiful , in a wonderful environment, with wonderful people! I recommend hotel " Antares" from the heart! Clean , comfortable , beautiful ... and special!
Review 10:nothing
Review 11:the hotel and its all team, the privacy, the welcome, the discussion with Giorgios and Mina on Victor Hugo or on food recipes or on Greek history, the mountain tea, the coyotes, the travel advices, the sea, the walks , etc
Review 12:A central location to explore both sides of the mani. Antares is a beautiful traditionally built place. We all had a very relaxing stay here exploring lovely areas suggested by Georges and Meni - both great resources for ideas if you are getting to know this area. Maria's was our favourite place to eat in the town which we walked to from Antales - a lovely walk back under moonlight and if you are lucky with the chorus of coyotes !
Review 13:Helpfulness and enthusiasm of Mina and Giorgo, beauty of the hotel development, fresh produce growing outside our door, the relatively unspoilt nature of the region
Review 14:The suite was large and and nice decorated Modern but not overly so. Can't think of a better equipped room in Greece with a plenty of wardrobe space and a small refrigerator. The room even had a fan to cool down the room at night. Comfortable bed with high quality linens. A very nice sized bathroom with a terrific shower was a welcome sight.
Review 15:The tastefully renovated tower house was extremely comfortable and provided everything---and more-- than we needed for our too brief a stay. Delicious breakfasts delivered to your own terrace which had lovely views. It was within walking distance of Areopoli and a convenient centre to explore more of the Mani.
Review 16:Going home!
Review 17:Mina and Giorgios were fantastic hosts, giving us great tips and advice for our daily adventures into the Deep Mani. They were always on hand to share their expertise over a pot of Mountain tea or a cold glass of Raki. The hotel itself is fantastic, in a great location (off the beaten track, in a good way) and the building is respectfully restored but with modern home-comforts. Each morning we had an excellent breakfast sourced from local producers which varied daily. There was also great care and attention to detail: we would find a small gift such as a pot of honey or piece of cake in our room after it was cleaned. We had an amazing and unforgettable time in the Mani and cannot recommend Antares enough.Thank you!
Review 18:Excellent small hotel next to beautiful aeropolis (walking distance). The people running the hotel try hard focunsing on the smallest detail and are always ready to satisfy any need
Review 19:Nothing that you can imagine!
Review 20:This place is quite unique. It breaths romantism, history and culture. You will feel sad to leave it as in one day you will feel completely at home. The owners and the staff will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. It is intimate and makes you feel all the amazing story of the Mani region. Location is excellent to go around Mani. Views are also super! A truely unique place.
Review 21:Bright lights from neighbours (but this was really a trifle!)
Review 22:Hospitality, warmth and helpfulness of Mina our hostess; beautiful location; nearness to fascinating Areopoli and other Many locations
Review 23:Only reason we gave location a good is that we usually liked to be in town and this was a bit of a walk. Fabulous hotel and we would stay there again.
Review 24:Breakfast was al a carte and personalized. Rooms, staff, the whole experience was perfect. Very unique touch to details. Mina was very helpful with maps and suggestions of beaches, drives and restaurants.
Review 25:The location is very convenient for discovering Mani. The view is outstanding. The owners have created a place with extraordinary atmosphere and distinct architecture with respect to tradition. Great hospitality from Mina and Giorgos. A place to visit again and again!
Review 26:The staff was extremely accommodating. Every possible detail was taken care of. Breakfast was individualized and served at our room at the time we requested. The room was beautiful and very clean. Wifi signal was excellent. A memorable experience.
Review 27:The philosophy of the hotel, i.e. natural local products and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the manager concerning the area. Great advises on places to visit and to where to have a good meal.
Review 28:wifi connection sometimes poor in room, but in improvement
Review 29:friendly athmosphere, lovely welcome and delicious hospitality. Good breakfast with fresh and homemade food, different each day. Spacious and clean room. A wonderful stay in hotel
Review 30:Everything, without exaggeration. Just go there and you will see. It's a magic place. These old houses have been renovated in a perfect way and let you now experience the magic of Mani. Minna is a perfect host, you will love her.
Review 31:There was nothing wrong.
Review 32:We loved everything about this beautiful hotel, which you can't even call hotel, because it's more like a retreat. Romantic, chic, beautifully refurbished, you feel in a fairy tale. Silence and refined understatement are the main features of this place, where you will want to come back at the end of your holiday. The service is great, the breakfast is totally homemade: they are there to spoil you and make you feel a friend more than a guest.
Review 33:Everything! Interesting buildings and surroundings (yard and garden), brand new but it keeps its authenticity. Helps you relax and enjoy the nature and your time off. Amazing people, very helpful and really taking care of their visitors. Functional rooms, clean and comfortable. Nice country breakfast that was made the moment you wanted it. Good situated, however you cannot visit the area without a car or bike.
Review 34:Everything, room, breakfast, staff.....need I go on!
Review 35:Amazingly friendly and helpful staff, hotel description very accurate, great breakfast, all in all a great getaway!
Review 36:Enthousiasm of the hosts, the surroundings, the "tailor-made" breakfast, ideal basis (central) for visits to Mani and Laconia.

Review 44:Everything was good
Review 45:Perfect hospitality,
Review 46:A superb place to stay which is in line with the life philosophy of Mani: simplicity and respect of nature are the key to happiness. Giorgos and Mina created an excellent atmosphere of friendliness which was not dictated by any kind of management strategy of the place but, instead, by their genuine willingness to help us and to introduce us to the unique beauties of the place. Vasso and Pota translated all these feelings to unique culinary experiences every time they were preparing our breakfast . Thank you all and we will be back!
