Reviews for The Hunting Lodge

Review 1:Very noisy as there was a band playing and people in the beer garden until midnight. Location misleading as not in Loughborough.

Review 2:Good location and large room and bathroom. Great power shower.

Review 3:The light switches & kettle didn't work.Apparently fuse box goes all the time. Four poster bed was old with banisters about to fall off.Room smelt musty. So overrated for 140 pounds a night.Worth probably 70 pounds a night.

Review 4:Breakfast was simple but nice.

Review 5:Just one criticism which was the bed surround, particularly the step up which both of us managed to miss. Suggest remove at earliest opportunity.

Review 6:Friendly Clean and mostly very comfortable Good breakfast

Review 7:The only negative was that the mattress sagged in the middle & gave us both backache the next day

Review 8:The staff were really friendly, the service was good and the food in the restaurant was superb & very well priced. Also liked that the bedrooms were all individually decorated ,really liked the room we had, the 'Louis ' room, very nice, bathroom shower was powerful, which you don't always get

Review 9:The Hunting Lodge has so much character, the styled rooms were comfortable and clean. The food was excellent as were the staff.

Review 10:Lovely location and excellent staff. Evening meal was delish.

Review 11:Poor selection of malts.

Review 12:Excellent facilities and staff. Great food, good selection of local beers.breakfast outstanding.

Review 13:I liked it all from the moment I arrived to the second I left

Review 14:Squeaky bed!

Review 15:Lovely room & friendly staff. Fantastic cooked breakfast

Review 16:Food was plentiful but pretty tasteless! Wine was brought to the table and just left there !!! Room was comfortable !

Review 17:Some noise from below / next door

Review 18:Individual themed rooms giving business travel a "softer" edge

Review 19:Plastic shower curtain. Deco a bit dated. Expensive and extra for a full cooked breakfast. Photographs rather misleading on the layout and location.

Review 20:The staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 21:Heating was uncontrollable on landing which was like a sauna. Woken up at 2am with lady on Skype talking outside our room. Looks much nicer on the web than it actually is, which is pretty shabby. Very over priced!

Review 22:Convenient location for our purpose. Dinner was reasonable.

Review 23:We didn't pay the price we should have done (£120) and if we had wewould have been mortified. There were quite a few bad patches in theroom, particularly holes in the floorboards (!), creased wallpaper, lotsof cobwebs. Downstairs in the bar in the late afternoon there was achildren's party with lots of screaming etc. When we went down fordinner (9pm booking) there was a family group with children, one of whomscreamed throughout the meal. Drinks in the bar were expensive and onthe floor and tables there were many remnants of the children, litter, sweet papers, half empty glasses etc. Despite the room price of £120,only continental breakfast was included and for a full breakfast we wereexpected to pay a supplement of £7 each!!

Review 24:The fact that we didn't pay full price!

Review 25:The food was dreadful. Despite the fact we were charged £120 per nightwe were charged an extra £3 for four rashers of bacon. Outragous! Thesteak and kidney pie kept me up all night. The food was horrendous. Thegroup on the Friday night should have been thrown out....it's not muchfun trying to sleep in a room over a 'wanna be' group. A few of thestaff could do with a personality transplant.

Review 26:I like the fact it was set in a nice village and quite handy toLoughborough. The manager ia a great asset to the business.

Review 27:I hadn't realised that there was the pub on the ground floor, but I suspect that was an assumption on my part - maybe it could be clearer on website - even so, not raucous on the Friday night we stayed, so not an issue (and I don't like noise so that's quite good!)

Review 28:Location was very good and easy to find. Room and en suite very comfortable, clean, pleasant. Duty Manager (I think) arranged for a breakfast tray for us as we were leaving early, which was very good. Proper hairdryer.

Review 29:i thought the room was a little over priced - bathroom could have been more luxurious

Review 30:Warm welcome, comfy, quirky rooms, good food and friendly service
