Reviews for Pappoudiko
Review 1:You need to have a bold and capable driver to get you there, but it's well worth the journey, and although we arrived somewhat later than scheduled there was a charming young lady waiting in the gateway to receive us. The room ('the new solarium') was a complete delight - spacious, and with a lovely airy feel brought about by the play of light on the whitewashed walls. The air conditioning unit was very effective. Especially wonderful was the room's large private terrace/balcony, with views out to sea and along the coast, and, nearer at hand, down to a little chapel and across a tangle of gnarled prickly pear thickets. The sumptuous and generous breakfast was brought to us (and elegantly set out) on this terrace, and one night we had dinner (cooked in our kitchenette facilities) there, in a pleasantly relaxed manner. It is a very quiet part of the world. For most of the day you won't see any staff there, and I suppose it could be a bit difficult to get hold of someone in between times; but, for us, people rather magically turned up at the necessary moments. Car parking, just outside the main gates, is fairly limited, but then there aren't many rooms, so it's unlikely to be crowded. We always secured the same space, which was covered by the very welcome shade of an olive tree. One last point - it is very worthwhile paying a visit to the chapel mentioned above. It contains some attractive frescoes.
Review 2:We picked the hotel because it was small and had a distinctive personality. It more than met our expectations. Quirky, comfortable and with great attention to detail by Anna Maria and her small staff. Quality was evident everywhere and we were delighted with our stay there.
Review 3:Ana Maria, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Rooms and view were outstanding, as well as the breakfast with local fruits, honey and greek coffee.
Review 4:great breakfast and the owner is really helpful, flexible, creating a very nice atmosphere
Review 5:Respect to nature, to architecture, to history and of course to visitors! What else would you ask for? Anna-Maria the landlady makes you feel at home from the first minute, very sensitive with parents' needs and worries. We stayed at the Megalithic and sensed the "strength" of the building and the history of the place. Overall a very unique and original experience, yet absolutely cosy for a family of 4.
Review 6:Everyting was excellent, but we had a little trouble communicating with our hosts in English.
Review 7:Lovely location and great historic buildings, with carefully designed and equipped interiors. Hosts looked after us very well. Breakfast options extensive and quite original.
Review 8:Papoudiko is just perfect. There was not a thing we did not like there! The hotel manager and the personnel are very friendly and hospitable. Our suite had its own garden. The rooms were spacious and clean. They were furnished with quality and taste. Clean towels and bathing equipment was available on a daily basis. Really nice stay. I believe that the word that best describes Papoudiko is Quality at every level.
