Calon is set in the countryside 3 miles outside Newcastle Emlyn and around 12 miles east of Cardigan. Calon is a peaceful and eco-friendly bed and breakfast serving the food of an experienced chef.
Pretty rooms are decorated using natural materials and include refreshments such as herbal teas and homemade biscuits. Guests can enjoy use of the external bathroom, which has a shower and luxury whirlpool bath.
Free Wi-Fi is available, but this calming West Wales retreat aids your relaxation by having no TV. Guests can also make use of a library of books.
A wholesome breakfast features locally sourced meats and eggs from Calon’s own chickens, and expertly prepared evening meals can be provided at an additional charge. Owner Alex has many years’ experience in the food industry, and has even cooked for Prince Charles. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is around 30 minutes’ drive west of Newcastle Emlyn, a traditional market town with the beautiful Ceredigion Coast only 7 miles away. The Brecon Beacons are around 1 hour's drive to the east. The pretty town of Cardigan has a range of shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy, around 25 minutes' drive away.

Review 1：So so friendly upon arrival which was late at night and nothing was too much trouble. It was home from home, made to feel welcome straight away and the place was exactly as the pictures described. So clean and tidy, everything Eco friendly too. The breakfast was superb again with nothing too much trouble. I wd absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Too notch

I especially liked the lack of TV and electrical gadgets in the room (except there is a kettle in room). Will definatley return and recommend.

Review 15：Calon was beautiful. My mother and I were going to a wedding in the area. We phoned to say we may arrive late - Alex was so helpful with directions and left a light on the gate for us. Paul stayed up late so we could enjoy the reception. The room and facilities were perfect and Alex cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning. They are genuinely delightful hosts and couldn't do enough for us. We only wished we had stayed another night to explore the area and experience an evening meal - something for next time I think. Thank you Alex and Paul for a lovely stay!
Review 16：Alex and Paul were fantastic couple who would never think of giving their guests other that the best. They made us feel at home. Breakfast was great and we had good vegetarian options all being natural and organic. Alex was meticulous and took great effort to keep everything in order for a comfortable stay. She was always smiling and helped us plan our daily tours with packed lunches which contained little surprises. We highly recommend the place as we felt very comfortable and relaxed. We would not hesitate to stay at Calon again:)

Indeed, we were particularly taken by the very relaxing spa bath!! The hosts - Alex and Paul - were extremely hospitable and friendly. We very much enjoyed our interesting and stimulating conversations with Alex. Breakfast was delightful. I was wonderfully catered for as a vegetarian, and the freshly made orange juice reflects the high quality provided at Calon. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

Calon is clean, warm, and very comfortable. The whirlpool bath and toiletries, quiet house and surroundings made us relax completely. The double room is large with a very comfortable bed, and we had the bathroom to ourselves. Eco-friendly, natural, and organic food and products are used including the kettle and even the paint on the walls. Plenty of books of many genres are available. We loved our stay at Calon, and look forward to going again, we highly recommend it.

Review 43：The whole experience of staying at calon was a calming one from beginning to end, which is just what we were hoping for. The surrounding countryside was amazing, the welcome warm and friendly, the bedroom clean and comfortable, a big bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and plenty or hot water. The breakfast was of the highest quality produce, even the eggs had been freshly laid by calons own chickens. Lovely tasty homemade lemon biscuits in the bedroom made by the lovely hostess Alex, a truly memorable experience, can't wait to go back. Chris and Paul.
Review 44：We booked what we thought was a hotel, the info sounded like a hotel infact it was a B&B, and we were dissapointed in that. A Danger of a shared Bathroom, as we were the only guests it didnt happen, but we would NEVER pick a shared bathroom accomodation.

Her hospitality and thoughtfulness exceeded anything we have experienced before, giving us an extremely comfortable visit including the wonderful breakfasts. Alex went to the trouble of giving information on places to visit, and planning enjoyable scenic tours back on the return journey home.
