Reviews for Vranas Studios

Review 1:The shower place was not well designed and the water might easily spray out. I expected a kitchen so we could cook something, even a shared kitchen would be nice. Or a microwave oven in the room?

Review 2:We love the room decoration! Very nice owner. 150m to the seaside and the lighthouse. The room was clean and the bed was big and very comfy. Surroundings were nice too. They offer coffee kettle, teakettle, and basic tablewar in the room.

Review 3:No lift as the building is old. Fortunately with no too much stairs. Also, with no sea view.

Review 4:Comfortable room, great location (city centre), clean place, close to shops,

Review 5:They didn't had breakfast, but I think this is in whole Chania, that they won't offer Breakfast.

Review 6:The area is centrally located, the staffs are very very helpful and kind. The room where I stayed was very good with very comfortable bed. I will recommend this hotel to the people who wants to visit Chania.

Review 7:Only downside, lots of steep stairs, we were at the top, no lift, par for course in Old Town. Going up was OK, I had to have assistance coming down. I have reduced mobility. A hand rail would be great for oldies and persons like myself. This not a complaint but a comment.

Review 8:The apartment was spacious, very clean, bed linen and towels refreshed every day and Apt cleaned daily. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, no request was too much. The two brothers on reception even carried our luggage up on arrival and down on leaving.( Lots of stairs). Great location, behind the Church in the Old Town. five mins walk to waterfront Eateries on the doorstep and whole of surrounding area. Terrific value for great location. Best value rental we've had in Europe

Review 9:Amazing!! super comfortable and spacious studios !! Also very friendly staff :) We really enjoyed our stay there! We will definetely come back! Thank You ~ Ευχαριστούμε!!

Review 10:The balcony was small, but sunny. We were startled by the church bell twice, but you can't be more central than almost in the church tower. We parked the car at the nautical museum, which is a 500 m - extremely nice - walk.

Review 11:The staff was very friendly, helpful and well-informed. The flat was spacious, very clean and practical. We would take the flat again for a stay in Chania.

Review 12:Mattress was uncomfortable with sheets not fitting the bed fully. Bathrooms need updating which we have been advised is 'work in planning' for 2016. Otherwise - very good!

Review 13:The location of the studios was excellent for our needs being in the heart of the Old Town and a short distance to the harbour & restaurants. Owner & Staff very friendly & helpful.

Review 14:Uncomfortable mattress // noise of the street day and night // dark room with low external light // small bathroom in which piping from the building is making a lot of noise that woke me up at night.

Review 15:Excellent location in the old town in a very busy area full of bars and restaurants // very kind and helpful young staff.

Review 16:That I couldn't stay longer.

Review 17:Spacious, clean, comfortable and smack in the atmospheric heart of the perfect Cretan town. Many places try to get it right, this one really does, including a midday checkout and Faultless wi-fi.

Review 18:My double bed was very uncomfortable, too soft and you could feel all the springs! In comperance, the other single bed, was really good! Also, for me personally, the sower was too small, but this is just a matter of your size and preferences ;-)

Review 19:Perfect location! Just in the heart of old town of Chania! The brothers in the receptions were really nice and welcoming, very helpfull and very handsome :-)

Review 20:The tiny shower with a plastic curtain that kept sticking to you whenever you showered. The puddles of water on the floor in the bathroom. The bed (it was too soft and the springs felt like they were coming out of the mattress) The loud wake-up call from the church bells at 7 and 8 am on Saturday and Sunday!

Review 21:The central location The big bedroom with full length mirror The very pleasant staff

Review 22:The cathedral bells chime very early and on sundays they are followed by very loud singing that goes on for quite a while ;-)...it's quiet apart from this ,even though it's in a busy location

Review 23:Great location in a small busy street next to cathedral.Very friendly ,helpful staff. They let you leave luggage on checkout day.We plan to stay again.

Review 24:A restaurant across the street (2m wide) plays music right in front of your window, at nights - one needs to close the windows if not a heavy sleeper.

Review 25:Very helpful and polite staff. Central located. Clean. Decently equiped.

Review 26:The sheet on the bed was to small, so within 5 minutes we were lying on the matras, and during the night I kept tugging the sheet over the matras. Very easy to solve tough.

Review 27:The staff at reception where really very friendly and helpful. Location was also perfect. Room was big and nice.

Review 28:Bathroom is below average. Next to a church so the bells will wake you up in the morning. Personally, I like the fact that the hotel is in the heart of the Old Town, however, if you have a car bear in mind that you will have to park at a five to ten minutes' walk from the hotel.

Review 29:Location--loved the old town. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 30:it has no parking but after we found places in the street

Review 31:the localization near everithing the manager was great and Nikos alsi helped a lot very kind!

Review 32:I did not like that the lavatory did not work very well. I had to try it several times. In the night some noise from restaurants around.

Review 33:I liked most the service. Everybody kind and helpfully. Vranas.studios are located very near to old harbour in the midst of the old town.

Review 34:Great location, amazing, big, clean studio! Would go back any time. 5 minutes walk from the public parking which is a bit of hit and miss in terms of finding space but oh well... you are in greece after all and parking is an issue everywhere (coming from a greek). All in all great place Vrana Studios is and Chania a great town!

Review 35:We were located on the third floor with no elevator making it hard to move our luggage. The aircondition was not working properly during the last two days and wifi was sometimes a bit slow in the room.

Review 36:Location was good (really close to the harbour) and the staff was willing to help us with any questions or requests that we might had.

Review 37:As we were departing late the next day, we arranged to leave our luggage while on a day-tour next morning. However, on leaving at 7.25am, reception was closed, so we had to take our luggage with us. Not a problem, but could have been if we had not paid our account the night before. A little information would have been useful.

Review 38:We stayed here some years ago, and found it just as charming as before. Spacious room with sofa. Shower over bath, so no overflowing water on floor. Coffee-maker a bonus. Plenty of crockery and cutlery.

Review 39:Just the bells from church.. But we knew about so it was fine :-)

Review 40:Very good location.. In the middle of old town.. Close to all good restaurants.. Very nice staff.. . :-) our room was very spacious with super comfy biiig bed ;-)

Review 41:If someone goes for holiday to sleep to be honest there is a litlebit of noice although we slept perfect not bothered by the little noice

Review 42:The friendly stuff and up to date information located in such a beauty full place in the centre of all the life restaurants bars clubs shops etc.. 1 minute walk to the port

Review 43:Couldn't get access to wifi in the bedroom , but it was fine in reception area

Review 44:A lovely hotel in the very heart of Chanias beautiful old town . Views from balcony of old cathedral and terraced restaurants . Staff were very friendly and welcoming . Free air conditioning . Overall the best value for money hotel I've ever stayed in

Review 45:The only drawback of this location is it's beside the cathedral so early every morning like 7am there's a lot of bell ringing and the papas sings prayers through a loud PA system. So no hopes of a lie in!

Review 46:Love this place. Second visit. Great central location. Lovely staff. Very clean. Room even had a kettle to make tea :)

Review 47:Vranas Studios are in a great central location in the Old Town near the harbour but away from the noise of the waterfront. Staff were really helpful, they waited on our arrival as we had a late flight in to Heraklion. The local information was invaluable and made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Review 48:Absolutely nothing! Faultless.

Review 49:The location is perfect in Chania, it is right in the middle of the town and everything is within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and service was with a smile. The room was spotless and the decor was very modern and inviting. There is also a lovely restaurant downstairs called The Green Eye - I would highly recommend eating here!

Review 50:Communication was clear, room was clean, comfortable, and staff were nice. The restaurant across the street was delicious. Perfect location to walk Old Town Chania and reach the bus station.

Review 51:It was full when i tried to book again, so get in early!

Review 52:everything. It was stylish and yet simple and serviceable. Great location, easy to get to and the staff simply could not have been more helpful.

Review 53:The bathrooms need a do-over. they are worn down. It's a shame as the rooms are so gorgeous. The only thing that really annoyed us were the very early suppliers who came to unload and were shouting in the street waking us up very early when we wanted a lie in.

Review 54:The rooms were nice, the beds very comfy. The cleanness superb.

Review 55:Nothing!

Review 56:Really friendly and helpful staff. The location is excellent close to the city services. Bright spacious room, good bathroom, adequate mini-kitchen. Enough space for clothes, and in our room was also a separate leather sofa. Room cleaning every day, towels changed every day. We received help with carrying luggage up the floors (no lift). Really warm recommendations.

Review 57:our window was facing a wall (but I saw when passing by that other rooms on our floor had a nice view)

Review 58:helpful staff-excellent central location-very spacious room with small kitchen

Review 59:the bath was very small in one of the rooms we stayed in and it was quite difficult to take a shower

Review 60:Alexandra was extremely helpful and all staff very pleasant and welcoming.

Review 61:Nothing

Review 62:Central location to explore Chania...within walking distance of everything. Had a lovely balcony view of the cathedral (beware the early morning bell chimes). Super friendly and helpful staff who recommended some fabulous restaurants for us to try. Free parking at the nearby market. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Review 63:No complaints, just want to mention that the sink in the kitchenette is perhaps the smallest ever made. It worked, though. Also, there was no way to atach the shower hose to the wall in order to have an overheard shower but they took note and were going to have it fixed for future guests.

Review 64:Helpful friendly and very, very nice staff Functional studio with everything you need, you can also ask for other utensils for kitchen if needed Centrally located near bus terminal Very clean! Room was meticulously cleaned every day Fresh clean towels every day Heating unit worked great

Review 65:- no wifi signal.. - comfusing tv ( u had 2 push channel 29 2 start working) - no parking

Review 66:- staff was amazing.. that french (i thing) woman in reception was very good and helpfull about everything we asked !! - perfectly located 3 minutes from the old harbour and 3 minutes from the shops/5 minutes from the bus station. -in reception also they informed us about everything we could do in Chania in 2 days!

Review 67:Would have been good to have breakfast it would be a plus...beside that all was good..

Review 68:Location...new furniture...hot water all the time...great hospitality from Alexandra...good money value

Review 69:Bathroom rather tired looking, as also the room itself a little. Would be better with a proper shower cubicle. Stairs could do with a hand rail.

Review 70:Size of room and decor Four poster enormous bed Plenty of storage space Air conditioning doubles as heater in winter! Good wifi Really close to harbour, cafes etc.

Review 71:The weather in Xania in late November but it's not the hotel's fault:-)

Review 72:Super friendly staff, excellent location, clean room & bathroom... all this made my 3 days in Xania more enjoyable.

Review 73:The only thing that wasn't perfect was he shower - handheld only, which is fine but not ideal. Wouldn't stop me staying there again though.

Review 74:The bed was amazing - king size and super soft. Slept like a baby. Room bright and welcoming, big, clean comfortable. Location great. Price great. Staff helped me carry my bag up the three flights of stairs to my room.

Review 75:Being close, and having views to, a beautiful cathedral has its downside, the bells chime the from about 7.

Review 76:We travelled all over west Crete, but came back to Hania and Vranas. Our rooms have both been spacious and comfy. Some balconies have tables and chairs. When at first we were missing some kitchen things, they were provided immediately. If you are lucky there might be a bath too. And the staff were always helpful with suggestions and very friendly.

Review 77:A beautifully furnished spacious studio in a very pretty quiet street close to the port with a wide variety of restaurants. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Review 78:That we couldn't stay longer.

Review 79:In the heart of the city. Large rooms, clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful with practicalities. A return visit and as good as memory recalled. Lovely neighbourhood, everything is to hand but explore east for where the locals hang out. 10 out of 10.

Review 80:A bit noisy with the wooden stairs when people came and went

Review 81:Location in the heart of the Old Town near tavernas Excellent, helpful staff Balcony to sit outside

Review 82:Next to cathedral ,seems they like bells in the morning on Sunday and singing, joke, was fine and lots of weddings on Saturday , loads of people enjoying themselves,

Review 83:Near centre,lovely room

Review 84:The ceiling lamp is not working but staffs are very helpful to change the bulbs , though still didnt work

Review 85:Excellent staff, Nikoc, very welcome to our requests ! Excellent Location, 30 sec to church and in old town! Restaurants recommended by nikoc were very nice! Ask him if staying there!

Review 86:There were some Wi-Fi /Internet issues one day, but that wasn't a big deal -- the staff knew passwords to the nearby hotspots :)

Review 87:The staff, the location, the price, the roo m - everything was great! If I'm visiting Chania again (and I hope I will), I'll definitely be considering staying at this hotel again.

Review 88:Too noisy in rooms all day all night, tv was broken

Review 89:The hotel was in an awesome spot right in the middle of chania, rooms were big, friendly helpful staff

Review 90:The staff was very helpful in giving directions, use of internet and arranging taxis to the airport. The location was terrific-close enough to the action but distant from the noise

Review 91:We stayed on Saturday night so were woken early on Sunday by tremendous clamorous ringing of the cathedral bells. But this was expected and a small price to pay for the great location.

Review 92:Excellent helpful staff. Comfortable room. Huge bed.

Review 93:Not completely quiet at night (restaurant in the street)

Review 94:We loved: the smile and the kind help of our hostess, the bottles of water to welcome us, the big light bedroom with a very big bed, the lovely place at the corner with several cafés, and the affordable price.

Review 95:Lot of noice at night. The bell from the church and music from outside are not that bad, but the noice from the other visitors can be anoying.

Review 96:Good location in the middle of the center. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

Review 97:The room designs are pleasant but imperfect. I couldn't open the bathroom door without banging the toilet. Nothing serious I go back there every year!

Review 98:I personally like the Cathedral clang clang bells. It has character and humour. (Probably a bad idea if you have a baby or young children though)

Review 99:We booked the budget double room but ended up with a huge room with a 4 poster bed, kitchenette, ensuite and balcony overlooking the open-air restaurant (which is great by the way) over the road! Everything was very clean and we loved the style of the room and furniture. Great facilities for self catering, fantastic location and excellent value for money!! We would happily stay again

Review 100:The staff were friendly. Nothing too much trouble for them. Gave us a map and marked out must visit locations. Inside old town next to lovely shops and restaurants. Very central.

Review 101:I think it will be sweet if breakfast is included even simple breakfast, as it is convenient for travelers to have a good day start.

Review 102:I like Vranas Studios the most during my whole trip in Greece. It is a very cozy and center-located studio with nice furniture, which makes home feeling. Many thanks to Alexandra and George who are really welcoming and nice. Chania is an amazing city, but I think it is because of the lovely people there who make the city sweet. If I have money and holiday, I would stay there as long as possible.

Review 103:The spacious room & lovely location tucked away down a picturesque side street in Chania's Old Town. A real find for great value. We only used the studios as a stop over for one night but wish we had stayed longer.

Review 104:The bed in our room was very hard ( we asked for a couple of quilts to lay on the mattress which were willingly supplied ) only other niggle was the shower head had no way to attach it to the wall so showers had to be done hand held

Review 105:The position of the apartment was excellent. Situated in an area that was pedestrianised throughout the day apart from a few hours to allow for deliveries to cafés etc made it very relaxing and much quieter. Literally 150m to the harbour so not a problem coming and going. Apt nice, clean and spacious. The water pressure was great and lots of hot water, staff extremely friendly and helpful- we would definitely stay here again - oh don't forget to take two to three pin adapters if your electrical items have 3 pin plugs as Poland uses two pin plugs.

Review 106:A little bit noisy late at night. Uneven WiFi.

Review 107:Spacious, airy, simple but tasteful room. Fully equipped kitchenette. Nice views from balcony of immediate surroundings.

Review 108:The bathroom needed renovation or at least a bit of maintenance but was still quite adequate.

Review 109:Location, staff , cleanliness and room size were all very good/excellent.

Review 110:Everybody I meet there was very friendly and the hotel is situated in a lovely and quiet street. My room was beautiful spacious and charming.

Review 111:very helpfull staff, great location!

Review 112:Be aware of the church bells

Review 113:The staff are amazing and you can't beat the location.

Review 114:Sunday morning church bells impossible to change!

Review 115:Soft pillows Self catering ability

Review 116:staff were great, location superb

Review 117:the tv in my room was not functioning but ok ...

Review 118:the manager A nice lady, and Nico were really helpfull.... always....

Review 119:Location was perfect. Less than 2 minutes walk to the harbour and about 10 minutes from the central bus station. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Review 120:Great location behind the cathedral, nice little balcony, spacious room.

Review 121:Central location - in old town, near harbour. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Review 127:Fabulous room. Nice people

Review 128:The hotel looked very pretty & very good value for money!

Review 129:The shower wasn't great. Limited flow and awkward to use.

Review 130:Great location, surprisingly quite (double glazing) and fantastic staff.
