Reviews for The Park Hotel

Review 1:We did not have a bad experience, it was a little noisy as there was a Christmas Party being held at the time but it was all festive happy noise, but as a more mature couple we would say that if you have mobility/walking issues then the hotel may be a problem because it is not very close to the centre of Tenby and is uphill, we relied on our car.

Review 2:Lovely hotel with nice views, the outdoor pool looked inviting even during the awful storms we had during our stay, and a lovely breakfast. Excellent parking. Don't be put off by part of my review but it may help those who have mobility issues.

Review 3:Could be cleaner...cleaning staff left someone's clothes under the pillow. Got locked out and no one answered door so we had to sleep in the car. There were three beds in the room and the room lacked space.

Review 4:The food was good

Review 5:It was really lovely. We had a great time and the staff made us feel very welcome. Dispite the dreadful weather the sea views from our bedroom were amazing.

Review 6:Lovely hotel in a perfect location. We went in winter and it was brilliant, I can imagine it being equally as good in the summer. The room was very nice, huge bed and decent amount of room. Parking was good too. Breakfast was also very nice with very good service..

Review 7:Nothing to dislike.

Review 8:Fabulous views. Spacious rooms. Bed really comfy. Breakfast very home like and delicious. Staff at breakfast ere very professional. Hotel will be undergoing a serous decor in January. Will be interesting to visit once complete.

Review 9:The bathroom basin taps were faulty and difficult to control.Windows were difficult to open.Decor, furnishings and bathrrom suite really need modernising. The rest of the Hotel had obviously recently undergone a refurb which had been done to a excellent standard.

Review 10:Thanks to an upgrade to 'classic' we had a comfortable room which was clean and tidy The general ethos of the Hotel was friendly and relaxing. The bar snacks were very good and well presented.Very much enjoyed the Red Dragon beer! Excellent breakfast.

Review 11:Bedroom was small and needs refurbishment.

Review 12:Wonderful view across Tenby Bay. Breakfast varied choice and food excellent. Staff welcoming and friendly. Downstairs interior charming, and everything spotlessly clean.

Review 13:Not aware dogs were not allowed in any areas other than grounds or bedrooms, room a bit cold. We (and several other guests) were disturbed by noisy guests until 5.00 am and while this wasn't the hotel's fault we were unable to contact anyone to report it as the emergency contact line was not answered.

Review 14:Good location and very clean.

Review 15:The manager!!!!

Review 16:William the manager is an absolute prized prick!!!!!! Tried ripping me off for £35 for champagne that wasn't champagne it was sparkling wine!!

Review 17:We booked for Friday and Saturday night, we stayed until the Saturday. Due to the fact we had been burgled at home on the Friday/Saturday. We thought due to our circumstances that we might have get our money back or giving us a free night another time as we enjoyed our stay for 1 night. We would like to stay again in the future for a couple of nights.

Review 18:K

Review 19:Would not be suitable for anyone with impaired mobility.

Review 20:Had half board & food was excellent with a good choice on menu. Would definitely stay here again. Lovely view from our room No.3.

Review 21:What's not to like the room was really spacious and spotlessly clean, the food was amazing and the staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you xx

Review 22:Our room was classed as a superior room, but was fairly small and there was no clock or radio and there was only one choice of tea and coffee and no biscuits I would have classed it as a basic room.

Review 23:The staff were lovely all very helpful and very friendly. The view from our room was brilliant. The food was lovely, we had an evening meal both nights which was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Review 24:Everything about our short stay was excellent, from walking into Reception and being greeted by a very friendly Receptionist who explained we had been upgraded to a lovely room overlooking the beach at no extra cost! Overall service and breakfast - excellent.

Review 25:Nothing to say

Review 26:Excellent hotel... Stunning views and gardens. Lovely staff and breakfast. Free parking! Free wifi! Bar cheaper than ones in town lol. Short walk to town! Will be going back for sure.. :)

Review 27:We were ask if like cheese board , we said yes, the waitress then took the half eaten cheese board from other guest table and served it to us . There was bits cheese mixed together broken cheese biscuits . Spoilt a wonderful experience .

Review 28:Food and receptionist great

Review 29:Very clean, welcoming staff, lovely gardens, and beautiful views over Tenby beach.lovely standard room with nice views of the countryside, well equipped room.good breakfast plenty of choice.

Review 30:Room cramped. Would like mini fridge to keep fresh milk in. TV needs to be hung on wall. Toilet roll holder needs to be away from hanging towels Noisy Wifi too slow

Review 31:Staff friendly. Breakfast good Lovely setting Nice sitting areas

Review 32:The path/stairs at the side of the hotel could do with being lit, even if they are just solar powered fairy lights.

Review 33:The location was great, nice walk into town. Would love to use the swimming pool in the warmer months. Hotel very homely, great choice for breakfast and you don't have to be up to early to enjoy it.

Review 34:Our room 315 had a split level floor which was a potential trip hazard & a weak WFI signal

Review 35:Elegant siting rooms and bar Traditional breakfast service excellently cooked Evening dinner was very good The simple menu had enough choice within the to satisfy most people, Truly wonderful cheese board is offered as the fourth course following the dessert Excellent location overlooking North Beach, An easy walk into town centre. Steps (lots of them!) to beach Friendly staff

Review 36:Inadequate bathroom: inaccessible toilet roll holder, no shelf to put things, no hook for dressing gown etc. In the room, the lights were too low to read comfortably, if at all. Apart from breakfast, food a bit ordinary. (Surely real coffee could have been provided).

Review 37:Lovely position, helpful staff, comfortable room, fine views, convenient parking, beautiful gardens. Nothing too much trouble (sourdough provided on request). Newspaper tokens accepted.

Review 38:In a word nothing.

Review 39:Lovely location, friendly staff, comfortable room and beds, superb bar meals, and breakfasts All this made our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 40:Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean, view from room was fantastic. Food in bar was great value for money and very tasty.

Review 41:Intermittent internet access, but it's the same all over Tenby so not really a negative.

Review 42:Just come back from a 3 night stay at the Park Hotel, and I absolutely loved it. The hotel is so we'll run and all the staff are very helpful and frendly. We stayed in a superior double room as a treat for me as I'm recovering after surgery and needed some quality time, and my stay was purfect and just what I needed. The views from our room was amaizing. The room was spotless and comfortable including the bed. Some of the reviews I read before booking said that the hotel was very dated and needs updating. I totally disagree with this. The Park Hotel is gorgeous, and the deco is olddy worlddy but it's charming and I loved that. The Park is emmaculate throughout and the dining room is stunning. The breakfast is served to you by very helpful and frendly staff and is the best breakfast we have ever had, and because it's searved up to 10.30, you can get up a bit later if need be. The evening meals were very good too, with a good 3 course choice, plus a cheese and cracker board and coffee included, so good value for money and lovely fresh produce. Dinner is served between 7 and 8.30 which is great also. We could go out all day and we had time to get back and freshen up before dinner, so we do didn't feel too tied to the hotel and it suited us just fine. We will defiantly book here again, and I highly recommend it to friends and family.

Review 43:Room was a bit on the small size and had a step up to the window. Forgot about it and tripped over it a couple of times.

Review 44:. The hotel seems to have a little microclimate of its own!Pretty gardens are very sheltered and the palm trees and sea view gave a very Mediterranean feel Staff were welcoming, very attentive while being unobtrusive.

Review 45:The bed was uncomfortable and sound proofing between rooms none existent so when people upstairs got up at 6:45 we awakened to the sound of banging doors/drawers and a stampede of wildebeest running above our heads. The showers are ran off the bath taps consequently every time someone else runs a tap the temperature changes, a 5 minute shower is an adventure 60 different temperatures ranging from freezing to boiling. The Wi-Fi on the second floor was almost unusable.

Review 46:The cheese board with evening meal is brilliant. If you like cheese forget the meal and go straight for the cheese board.

Review 47:Bar Staff very loud and disrespectful; not to us but after answering the bar phone which kept ringing, must have been having a bad night. Very hard to get help or assistance, after many tries convinced the staff to help me with a request on a booking for the next part of the trip. Smoke alarm went off at 7:30 in the morning because the kitchen overheated. Wi-fi on the 3rd floor non- existent. The only less than stellar experience we had on a two week trip.

Review 48:Great location and view

Review 49:I cannot think of anything negative.

Review 50:Even though we had booked the last room we were allocated a very spacious double on the 2nd floor over the entrance. (Much roomier than other hotel doubles where you can bearly squeeze past the bed!) We had an extremely quiet and restful two day stay being over the entrance way did not cause any noise problems.

Review 51:As the room was supposed to be top of the range expected the an suite to be larger. The sea view from the window was not as the image supplied. The sea could only be seen by standing fairly close to the window. It was higher and smaller. The amount we were charged for the accommodation.

Review 52:Food and restaurant service.

Review 53:The deco was a little dated in the room not what we expected when we seen the pictures of the rooms provided on the website

Review 54:Breakfast was amazing staff lovely and friendly too

Review 55:parts of hotel a little dated, entertainment not good although realise late in season, strange smell on stairway!

Review 56:location, friendly staff, ample breakfast, clean refurbished room

Review 57:chairs in room not so comfortable. bath room a bit small.

Review 58:Location of hotel is excellent and room had great views of the North Beach. staff very nice indeed.

Review 59:I was disappointed with the initial greeting at reception and there was no one who volunteered to carry my case or show me to my room which would have been nice. The room was very small.

Review 60:The view from the hotel and the breakfast. The restaurant staff were friendly.

Review 61:The rooms were dated and small the showers were a bit temperamental unable to set temperature wifi non existent except in public areas and the same with the TV

Review 62:The public areas were to a good standard

Review 63:The only thing is decorations need to be done in the dining room ,staircases & hallways, but that's it.

Review 64:All of it Staff members fantastic too The out door pool Our room 108

Review 65:wi fi wasn't very good and our room was very small but other than that it was lovely.

Review 66:the views were stunning and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was fab :)

Review 67:We could not open the bedroom window . The decor was really old fashioned despite looking plush

Review 68:Friendly staff, good breakfast and swimming pool. Wonderful view from front door.

Review 69:The hotel was lovely.we also had a evening meal which was first class.staff were very helpfull at all times.the view of tenby was fab.we will go back again and take family and friends with us.

Review 70:Very tired and out of date.Needs complete refurb to bring it into the 21st century.Must have been a grand building back in the day

Review 71:Breakfast,bed and position of hotel

Review 72:Tiny bathroom. Had a family room but the bathroom was minute. Decor a bit dated. Bed was very hard.

Review 73:Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly. Lovely view of beach.

Review 74:Family room was very cramped and small.

Review 75:Good hotel in beautiful surroundings with great views. The swimming pool was lovely. Hotel very clean and the bar food and breakfast food was to a high standard.

Review 76:Lift very small, lots of steps outside, lighting over steps at night could be better. But none of this would stop me from returning to this hotel or from recommending it to my family and friends.

Review 77:Views over Tenby, friendly and helpful staff, excellent service, nice room decore.

Review 78:Excellent location, fantastic views outside the hotel, really nice interior, comfortable room, fantastic breakfast. We strongly recommend this hotel.

Review 79:Great views across the bay,far enough out of town to be peaceful but only a 10 minute walk. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location probably not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Review 80:This is an old building with stairs everywhere and a very small lift. Breakfast room is downstairs. To get to the basement breakfast room you have to use the lift or the stairs but the lift comes out in the kitchen and you have to walk past all the food preparation. There are even stairs when you get out of the lift. Anyone with a mobility issue should avoid the hotel. Entrance to the hotel is on a steep slope.

Review 81:World-class sea view - absolutely unbeatable. Friendly staff.

Review 82:Lift & en suite (room 220) smelled of mould, so we had to leave the fan on constantly during our stay. Didn't use shower on our last morning, as I vomited at the smell in the room. Number of stairs immediately after exiting lift ridiculous! Number of stairs should be mentioned on website!

Review 83:Hotel overlooks the North beach, and has fabulous views. All staff were friendly & helpful & the cooked breakfast extremely good. Snacked in the bar one evening, and that food was also very good.

Review 84:The outdoor heated pool was set in a beautifully maintained garden with many most unusual small topiaries. The evening meal was served by most attentive staff.

Review 85:first, carrying heavy luggage will be a challenge going through many stairs. second, check out was a little bit disappointing, no body was there, waited and when we ranged the lady an came she came with a straight face, it was like if we made something wrong!!! third, I think it is so pricy even for a superior room, having spending around £300 for two nights.

Review 86:I would say awesome location, breakfast, parking, and room view (despite the rainy days).

Review 87:I have a heart problem and there are a lot of steps and hotel on top of a steep hill which ment i had to use my car alot

Review 88:The bed was the best we have ever slept in at a hotel and gardens really nice. The breakfast very good and set you up for the day. Great pool and water was warm.

Review 89:We have no complaints.

Review 90:The staff are just lovely. Every single one was friendly, kind, courteous and helpful. Even the children commented on how nice they are after one of them offered to turn the pool heaters up for them during their morning swim. Upon arrival I enquired about a ground floor room and they had had a cancellation and were able to move us. We stayed in room 3 which has a double and two singles and fab views of Tenby from the bay windows in the corner of the room. It has a small bathroom with a shower over bath. There is a small outdoor heated pool, garden with tables, chairs and loungers and a terrace area overlooking Tenby and a cliff path leading down to the beach I think but we didn't use it as we had a pram and it is steep and uneven. All areas of the hotel are clean and very nicely decorated. The toilets and bathrooms are in need of refurbishment, but are clean and well kept. The TV in our room was small and initially had no reception but my teenage son managed to get it working. Breakfast was waiter service with reserved tables which was great. They had the highchairs ready and service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast was good and the staff were very attentive and even attempted to cheer up our grumpy toddler. There is a nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere and the hotel did not feel busy even though it was the summer holidays. There are lots of staff and they are really friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay with great weather and will be going back.

Review 91:Excellent breakfast and service. The mattress on the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, but was immediately replaced with a new one when I informed the management.

Review 92:The only thing we didn't like was the shower there was next to no pressure the water dribbled out!

Review 93:We stayed at the park hotel for 6 nights its in a great location with fantastic views over Tenby harbour. Heated outdoor pool was a great bonus! The staff were all really friendly, breakfast was fantastic great food Brilliant service.

Review 94:The bed was a bit short and the water went off when I was in the shower.

Review 95:The Staff were friendly and helpful , excellent location and the fact that the hotel had parking.

Review 96:Paid for a classic room (£30 more than the standard), no view apart from pool. Room was tiny. Suppose to be a double room but had two singles pushed together.

Review 97:Although the waiting staff were very attentive I prefer to help myself, so would have preferred a buffet.

Review 98:Beautiful view of the bay from the lovely hotel gardens. Friendly staff and good location. Really comfy beds. Breakfast times were good- not too early which is great when you are on holiday.

Review 99:Nothing

Review 100:This hotel is fantasic the location is in a nice quiet area about 300 yds from the edge of town food, comfort, rest areas, the gardens make this hotel top of the leaque must be a 4star brilliant.

Review 101:We were unfortunate to pick a week of poor weather.

Review 102:The staff are friendly, always prepared to help and want you to enjoy your stay. Breakfast excellent. All well maintained. The room has been recently refurbished and superb with plenty of storage space. Garden and pool good for relaxing.

Review 103:Very disappointed with wi-fi reception all over hotel. Pretty hopeless and not as advertised.

Review 104:Beautiful gardens and surroundings with excellent food and very helpful staff.

Review 105:Superb location perfect distance from town. We only had breakfast but the restaurant service is the best I've ever had at a hotel - no self service at all ! Polite Staff and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful decor - Regency style !

Review 106:The 4 course welcome Monday meal was served far too quickly (not often you can say that) but a bit of a breather between courses would have been a good idea.

Review 107:The food was excellent. The views were outstanding.

Review 108:Very polite and prompt service at breakfast and during the evening meal. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful location and hotel. Would stay here again in the future and recommend to others.

Review 109:We had the hot water supply stop during the morning shower! but the staff were very polite and got it sorted within half an hour.

Review 110:Our room was very modern.

Review 111:A customer in front of us was complaining they wanted a twin room not double and the person at reception kept saying it was not their fault it was booked through a third party (they could have tried harder to take ownership and resolve). When the customer walked off they continued to be upset by the customer whilst checking us in (they should have dropped it and made feel welcomed)

Review 112:Great venue, we sat outside on the cliffside patio (the one hidden down a small path) with a bottle of wine and it felt like we were in Italy. Great breakfast and breakfast service.

Review 113:It was overpriced for the standard of accommodation - cheap, rather dated furnishings, and a tiny bathroom. OId fashioned water-service breakfast, with name cards on tables that made assumptions about marital status (we were down as Mr and Mrs X when we should really have been Dr X and Mr Y!)

Review 114:Location was great - a quiet spot just up out of the town with fabulous views

Review 115:Although only two of us travelled, the family room was tiny considering the price we paid - felt extremely claustrophobic. Also, be prepared to hear a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms as the walls are very thin!

Review 116:Lovely breakfast, beautiful grounds and a delicious breakfast.

Review 117:Small room, uncomfortable bed and terrible pillows. No hot water for shower in morning (though was rectified later). Hotel very dated and rooms old fashioned. Breakfast was ok though took ages to get a orange juice refill and extra toast. Was ok if paid half the price but definitely not worth £139.

Review 118:Gardens, free parking

Review 119:Poor noise insulation - noise from adjacent rooms. Very low water pressure - took 15 minutes or more to run a decent bath and shower next to useless. TV reception via satellite intermittently poor. Friendly staff but a mixed bunch - some could do much more to be truly service-oriented and approachable! Guess that is true of most hotels and this would be average.

Review 120:Location and view of main beach accessed via steep but manageable path to beach. Well appointed and very clean. Great breakfast. Lovely gardens with great seating by viewpoints.

Review 121:The WiFi was unreliable and more often than not unavailable.

Review 122:The hotel was very traditional, took me back to my childhood. The room was lovely, and the food was great!

Review 123:The Park Hotel is in a stunning location and is dog friendly too! The food was amazing and the facilities too. A first class hotel which we will definitely visit again.

Review 124:I dont book hotels that allow pets and wouldnt have done so if i had realised. Rear parking could be better organised.

Review 125:Very nice staff, meals were very good, location was good for people in good health and able to walk.

Review 126:This hotel is excellent so only two very minor niggles. Firstly the walls between bedrooms are very thin so we could hear every conversation the people nextdoor were having and were woken by someone in the room above receiving a text message! Secondly the free Wifi barely works - even when connected it's slow and drops out every few minutes.

Review 127:Great location, lovely clean room, super friendly staff and the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Would definitely visit again.

Review 128:AS MY WIFE HAS A WALKING DIFFICULTY IT WAS A STRUGGLE FOR HERE TO WALK BACK FROM TOWN WITH THE GRADIENT ON THE HILL.

Review 129:IT WAS A NICE QUIET SPOT WITH NICE VIEWS AND ALL THE STAFF WERE HELPFULL.

Review 130:Personally no real dislikes but the toilet seats in gents public loo Were chipped and damaged. Pillows on the bed gave no support!

Review 131:The overall ambiance of the hotel . Good staff and surrounding.

Review 132:The bed was small and very bouncy so every time I moved it disturbed my wife. Ordered pizza that came with a cremated base inedible, was changed with no fuss though.

Review 133:Nice little outdoor pool, hotel very clean

Review 134:The hotel décor needs updating. Didn't like the carpets in the bathroom and toilet - should have washable solid flooring.

Review 135:Lovely position. Staff were very efficient and helpful.

The Fine Print
