Reviews for Fourcroft Hotel
Review 1:The location of the hotel is quiet and the view of the sea and harbour is perfect. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are very welcoming and obliging. Our room was a good size with a sea view. There are several steps to the floor we were on, but there is a lift available. There is a good choice of cereals, fruits etc. and the full cooked breakfast is lovely. Evening meals were very good and the service great. We have stayed here before and will definitely return soon.
Review 2:My bedroom was small considering the price I paid for it. There was foundation (make-up on my bed sheet and I don't wear any make up so definitely not mine clearly not clean, there were marks on the headboard and on the side of the base of the bed. While collecting my belongings I noticed a lot of dust and fluff under my bed where it had clearly not been hovered. My glasses in my room were filthy. There was a long mirror and wardrobe that couldn't be used as there were two heavy chairs by the window blocking the mirror and wardrobe.
Review 3:I loved that I could walk to the beach, harbour and the nearest shops easily and quickly
Review 4:No problems.
Review 5:Excellent location. Good size clean room with comfortable beds. Large shower with adequate hot water supply.Breakfast was hot and well cooked. All staff helpful and friendly.
Review 6:Planning for a weekend hunting mushrooms and a tight travel schedule left me in the unfortunate position of being grossly underdressed for dinner on Sunday night. I had spent more time exchanging mushroom stories with your experts, one who I met on a previous visit to Ireland, than I had intended which left me with no time to even freshen up. I may have offended the gentlemen who were attending to the dinner guests because even though I was the first table seated, was dining alone, and placed my order before a later table, I was the last one served my meal. Perhaps I was overly sensitive and misunderstood the circumstances. I most certainly did not intend any offense by dressing so casually.
Review 7:Ashley, Jim & Fran Fraser, Maria and Howard were friendly and welcoming as was the lovely Polish woman at breakfast. The food and grounds were divine. I have been staying in self-catering cottages, B&B's, and boutique hotels since 2011 as I explore the British Isles and my stay at Longueville House is a high point. I have had many amazing experiences in my travels but the comfort effortlessly combined with the luxury of a well appointed fine estate is unrivaled.
Review 8:We stayed for a 3 night October break. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and with an excellent choice of food. Very good views of the harbour and beyond to The Worms Head.
Review 9:The Hotel in parts was modern i.e. entrance hall, Dining area, But the rooms (although clean & tidy could benefit from a makeover.
Review 10:Lovely welcome on arrival, very polite staff. Fantastic location with great views.
Review 11:The restaurant was realy noisy with large parties but actually We understand this is the naure of your business and wouldnt want you to be without it!
Review 12:Everyone was really friendly able to aprk car even if not always in front of the hotel lovely location could see themost beautiful view of Tenby when coming out of the front dooor
Review 13:No problems whilst there.
Review 14:Fantastic sea view.Excellent shower. Room spacious and comfortable. Good selection of TV channels. Buffet breakfast plus freshly cooked food of your choice. Evening meals were reasonably priced and had "specials" to add variety. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Couldn't fault it. Excellent hotel in fabulous location. Would go back.
Review 15:The wifi was a bit dodgy kept dropping but as we were only there for lesiure not business it didn't really matter, however if you did need to contact for business reasons it may have been more of a problem
Review 16:A lovely stay at the Fourcroft, ideal location. The children live the pool and the games room. Breakfast was amazing and staff couldn't do enough for you. Excellent service & a great time, the sun came out too which helps!!
Review 17:Bedroom wallpaper a bit shabby and pool would of been better with a roof
Review 18:The friendly staff particularly on reception nothing was too much trouble for them the facilities especially the games room kept the kids occupied and the decoration of the stairs
Review 19:had to pay for parking but was not advised there would be a charge was charged for a newspaper that was not asked for on the 2nd day decor upstairs on landings awful garden area very scruffy
Review 20:clean nice atmosphere receptionist friendly good location
Review 21:Poor parking and public car park was a bit of a hike to get to and from. Extra bed in room was comfy but a bit wobbly.
Review 22:We all loved the hot tub and the children really enjoyed the small pool and both indoor and outdoor games. Helpful staff an good food.
Review 23:There is extremely limited parking available on site. Ten places only. The nearest parking facility is open air and about 400 meters away, costing £3 per day. Not helpful if raining. A refund of parking fees was promised but never occurred.
Review 24:Well presented clean and comfortable.
Review 25:we stayed in room 11 the condition of this room is disgusting for the premium price charged.every strip of wallpaper is coming away at the joins.the carpet is stained and worn bare. the bathroom needs a complete overall, and two of the lights do not work.
Review 26:location and bed.
Review 27:Family room was a little bit on the small side for more than a couple of nights.
Review 28:Excellent, helpful staff, food quality good. Lovely to have games room and swimming pool.
Review 29:Barking dogs as we had not realised this was a dog friendly hotel when we booked. Creaking floors and thin walls - could hear next door's TV.
Review 30:Loved the sea view from the room and helpful staff.
Review 31:Car park has space for only 3 cars, and parking outside difficult. Breakfast good but very slow.
Review 32:Very comfortable bed. Central Location. Bit expensive although it was peak season.
Review 33:Everything was good about this hotel.
Review 34:Very friendly family-like atmosphere with table tennis, snooker and even an outdoor pool. Across a small road, some steps take you straight down to the beach...
Review 35:No car parking at the hotel and its a lottery to find a space nearby so had to park 400 metres away uphill. Small overpriced bar. Featureless swimming pool at rear..
Review 36:Beautiful location with views across the North Beach bay and harbour close to the town centre which is a short walk away where there are lots of lively pubs cafes and restaurants. The centre is pedestrianised by day so you can sit outdoors to soak up the atmosphere. Breakfast excellent and service perfect...
Review 37:The view out from my single room was of a corrugated roof. The television in my room was temporarily out of action
Review 38:Lovely full Welsh breakfast Situated right on the sea front free Wi-Fi Small Swimming Pool available Very clean hotel Comfortable bed Beautiful sea view from breakfast table
Review 39:Internet connection very slow, Room dated, some of the restaurant staff need proper training to get order correctly, Breakfast buffet poor
Review 40:Hotel is front of the beach, sea view from the room, staff friendly especially in the reception, nice swimming pool.
Review 41:The Jacuzzi seemed to have murky water.
Review 42:Very friendly helpful staff, superb breakfast with a fantastic choice. Having a drink in the garden watching the sun go down over the bay. Games room playground swimming pool Jacuzzi and sauna!
Review 43:The top floor room facing sea was not pleasant. Also would expect some renovation of the rooms and internal area..
Review 44:The location is the only advantage of this place.
Review 45:The bed was on casters and kept rolling away from the wall! The interior looked a little dated but the view out of the window made up for it.
Review 46:Great location - great views from the bedroom and a lovely sunny garden/terrace area leading down to the beach with the best views of Tenby.
Review 47:Everything! Only a one night stay, but we found the stay relaxing in Homely Comfort.Staff were lovely, view from the room was idylic, and the parking was a blessing. Cant wait to book another short break. By choice, wouldn't stay anywhere else in Tenby.
Review 48:No negatives to comment on!
Review 49:When we arrived a parking space had been saved for us which was a lovely unexpected touch, rooms specious clean and very comfortable, the views were spectacular and the breakfast was VERY good.
Review 50:Rooms overlooking the sea at the top of the hotel were extremely warm even on a day that wasnt sunny, didnt feel we could leave the windows open too far because the seagulls were right outside the windows.
Review 51:Fantastic location close to the beach, staff were really friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 52:The bedroom was small - including the double bed
Review 53:The hotel had a very comfortable public area with a superb garden overlooking the harbour. The food was good.
Review 54:Some food portions were enough for 2or3 people, which puts me off a bit, nd leads to waste.
Review 55:Super sea view room. Within walking distance of beach nd town for those reasonably mobile. Friendly staff. Pool and pool area. Dining room atmosphere.
Review 56:The location and relaxed atmosphere in the Hotel. The restaurant staff - especially 'Melanie' were extremely accommodating towards our 'Coeliac' daughter and couldn't do enough to help.
Review 57:This didn't affect our stay at all but if I had to comment on any negatives it would be that the room decor was a tad dated and the wifi was intermittent. Other than that, perfect!
Review 58:Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were huge! Newly refurbished bathroom was lovely too and my daughter loved the pool/jacuzzi! Parking available on site for a small charge which is great when parking spaces can be difficult to find. Only a ten minute stroll from Tenby town and views over the beach are beautiful!
Review 59:Can be a little noisy at nights with the window open if your a early sleeper but quiets down around 11 ish. so you can enjoy the wave crashing on the beach. Bed was a little unconformable but wouldn't say i lost sleep over it.
Review 60:Staff are very friendly and good service. Advise pay the bit extra to have the sea view its well worth it, and can't beat looking at the iconic view of Tenby in the morning. Food at the hotel is very nice and breakfast will set you up for a big day out.
Review 61:We were not told anything about the playground, games room or pool on checking in even though we clearly had young children. We discovered these the next morning!
Review 62:The location right on the beach, beautiful gardens and freshly cooked breakfast and friendly attentive staff.
Review 63:The price for B&B is relative high given that the hotel is an old building. Facilities like the swimming pool are undoubtly good but if you don't use them it is a costly stay compared with some other establishments
Review 64:The views from the front bedrooms are quite outstanding in a seaside resort which is quite unique and of which the Fourcroft is an essential part
Review 65:Bed could have been more comfortable
Review 66:On arrival we immediately were impressed with the helpful and friendly manner of the staff. The items of interest in various parts of the hotel were much appreciated.
Review 67:The hotel room was dirty - dirty teacups and plates, filthy bath (we used shower which was ok), dirty walls and carpet. Décor old and dated.
Review 68:Staff were friendly, breakfast nice.
Review 69:Lovely location. Hotel staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our visit memorable. Food was excellent. We dined out a couple of nights but our best evening meals were in the hotel dining room.
Review 70:Nothing, Fourcroft exceeded my expectations.
Review 71:An easy walk from the Train Station, and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path on your doorstep. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff fabulous, as is the breakfast!
Review 72:Nothing bad.
Review 73:We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and the staff are absolutely fab! Food is delicious and family rooms comfortable. Loved the sea view too!
Review 74:parking was a bit of an issue.
Review 75:we stayed at easter, excellent weather so able to sit and enjoy the wonderful view from the room. Hotel is traditional and slightly dated, but packed with facilities. Breakfast was excellent
Review 76:The bed was on wheels which moved around when I turned over. It didn't bother me too much though because the sea air tired me out and I slept well.
Review 77:Great to be able to park car at the hotel.
Review 78:Tenby is really lovely & we will definitely stay at this hotel again when we return. Everything about our stay was superb, we had a beautiful room with a view of the sea. My kids & husband had a great time in the games room every evening whilst we enjoyed a drink from the bar. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice.
Review 79:WIFI was terrible Noise of others having showers etc was quite loud but didn't bother us that much
Review 80:Right by the sea Amazing views, so definitely ask for a sea view Breakfast was wonderful Staff very helpful 24hour bar
Review 81:So happy we discovered this place a year ago, we have just returned from our second stay here. Such a quirky establishment. Very pleasant staff are always happy to help. Our children absolutely loved the heated outdoor pool and hotel games room. Location is perfect as are the beach views we got from our family room.
Review 82:View from window, but booked last minute so didn't really expect to get a sea view. Would have been nice to have a fridge in room.
Review 83:Fantastic hotel, friendly welcome, fabulous breakfast, great location.
Review 84:The only thing i didnt like was the way we had to flush the toilet , hand sensor didnt work most of the time bring back the normal flusher.
Review 85:Very clean , very friendly staff , helpfull
Review 86:overall a lovely experience, hotel very friendly, in a good spot to access amenities, lovely sea view. rooms very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. everything we needed was included, only critique is cooked breakfast was small. however there was plenty of other stuff on offer to add to this. would definitely stay here again.
Review 87:We wanted to stay overnight to use the local bars and return to a comfortable room! Fourcroft was perfectly located just slightly out of town centre! Staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was very filling!! Nothing to complain about!!
Review 88:as senior citizens we found that the staff took our bags to our room which was lovely and warm as one does checked bathroom and bed in bathroom big white fluffy towels extra pillows and a view to die for .view of harbor and rock saw sea in and out highly recommend back next year for our 51st anniversary
Review 89:Hotel was lovely and warm downstairs at the entrance and foyer but upon arriving at our room it was really cold as the heater and towel rail in the Bthroom had not been switched on, which would have been expected on a cold February day! We had a lovely room with a sea view and a small table and two chairs in the little bay window, which was fab, but upon sitting there in the afternoon, we discovered it was freezing cold, and upon attempting to close the wooden shutters on the window, we discovered a hole in the wall behind the one shutter that was letting in a freezing cold draught! We immediately went downstairs to report the problem and the staff we very helpful and brought an extra small but very effective heater up into the room immediately and were very apologetic. This little heater warmed the room in no time and made a world of difference!
Review 90:Gorgeous location with a wonderful sea view, within easy reach of the town and a lovely little walk through private gardens down to the beach. Lovely small, clean, comfortable room and Bathroom. The Full English cooked breakfast was delicious, and plentiful although we did have to wait around half an hour for it to be cooked, but was well worth the wait. The staff were helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our visit!
Review 91:The floor in our room was slanting a bit, but this just added to the charm...
Review 92:We had a sea view room, the view from the window was wonderful. could see right across to Worms Head in Swansea. The bed was lovely and comfy and the breakfast was great.
Review 93:Room was initially cold, as only heat-source, the storage heater had not been left on. Extra £5 per night for parking. No bath, despite double bed, sea view room.
Review 94:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good, complimentary breakfast, in convivial surroundings. Close enough to the sea to hear the waves all night long.
Review 95:couldn't find anything not to like.
Review 96:The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had 3 double rooms facing the sea. All 3 rooms a good size, very clean and the views of the sea, couldn't be better.
Review 97:Reception staff at the Fourcroft polite and courteous - nothing too much trouble for them. Breakfast was superb and again excellent staff. Will definitely return to Fourcroft.
Review 98:No car parking facility with hotel had to use public car park away from hotel. Found the woman on reception a bit sarcastic when I asked about parking outside hotel
Review 99:Location was excellent for what we required. Hotel was warm & friendly staff
Review 100:Grouting around shower tiles could do with cleaning or renewing. Original sash windows single-glazed so let a lot of heat out. Perhaps replace with double glazing?
Review 101:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and public areas were very clean and well maintained. Great location and sea view. Parking easy.
Review 102:Overpriced hotel we have stayed in better hotels for less money. Bar prices to expensive but I suppose they will tell you you are paying for the view and location I suppose. We would stay again but will have to save some money to do so.
Review 103:Staff very helpfull breakfast good hotel clean and tidy nice location overlooking the sea.
Review 104:Car parking was an issue, no room by the time we arrived.
Review 105:Hotel was lovely, clean, and the staff couldn't do enough for you, excellent service, choice of food for brekfast was excellent too, well done to all the staff that work hard to provide the customer with a very good experience at the fourcroft x
Review 106:slightly dated décor in some rooms
Review 107:The views and location Breakfast and hospitality Offering our two young boys a body board each when they saw us leaving for the beach kitted out in wet suits
Review 108:There was a lift but it didn't seem to work for all the rooms.
Review 109:Good room with magnificent view over sea. Helpful staff. very attentive at Breakfast. Good food and lots of choice. Comfortable beds and large bathroom.
Review 110:The tired furnishings, torn wallpaper and discoloured bath. The seperate shower only had a drench head and was therefore not good for keeping hair dry. There was no shower facility on the bath. Our room had no seaview but overlooked a refuse area.
Review 111:Location was central to town and dead opposite the beach.
Review 112:Rude guests !
Review 113:The best experience we have had in a long time . All of the team in the hotel were genuinly helpful and very very helpful , they could not do enough for us and nothing was ever too much trouble. All staff always had a smile and nice things go say without being pretentious ....the best hotel in tenby by far .
Review 114:I was very disappointed with the quality of the furnishing in the room. More gutted with what I had to pay for the room, I felt ripped off. When I booked this room through booking.com, I thought I was booking a room with a balcony as on the pictures on the website. instead, I was given a room with very poor interior, no balcony and with wifi rarely hitting two network connection bar.
Review 115:the Hotel's close proximity to the beach and shopping centre. The staff are quite amiable and professional.
Review 116:Not good value for money. Too many stairs. Parking charges (£5 a day) in unsupervised area.
Review 117:Location, friendly staff, good dining, great breakfast. Fair sized room with excellent view.
Review 118:The bath was pretty dirty. The shower was draining slowly so could only spend two minutes in there!! The outside pool could have been a bit warmer. The pool could also have been cleaned, my 3 year old son kept swimming into dead spiders and leaves.
Review 119:Can't beat the location of the hotel. Excellent service from all the staff! Breakfast was lovely!!
Review 120:Breakfast was not as good as we were hoping for. The cold buffet was limited but okay - and the natural yogurt was very good - but my scrambled egg on toast the first morning was so bad I left half of it. The egg tasted like powdered egg or similar - completely tasteless, no texture and very very pale and the bread used for our (somewhat burnt) toast was like a cross between cardboard and polystyrene. Also cooked breakfast arrives so quickly that it sits on the table getting cold while you try to hurry your cereal; at least that's what happened to us. Second morning waitress took it away for me but this didn't achieve a lot as it came back nearly cold with solid yolk fried egg and dried out black pudding, a shame. They seemed to want to hurry you out rather than let you enjoy a leisurely breakfast (and we got down half an hour before close of breakfast first day and an hour before on the second day, not at the last minute).
Review 121:Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant, allowing us into our car park space early when we arrived just before lunch. They also took the time to chat and have a joke. Our room had the most fabulous view of North Beach, the harbour and over to the Gower. The hotel's private garden leading down to the beach is great, with seats where you can enjoy the views or a quiet read. The hotel is also very handy for the centre of Tenby and apart from breakfast quibbles is a relaxing friendly place to stay.
Review 122:The rooms and hotel are getting tired... worst was the fact that the windows in the room didn’t open, they were screwed shut! This made the room quite stuffy. If you are booking ask for a room where the windows open!
Review 123:the location, great views from a front room.
Review 124:You had to pay for parking which I think is not a good recent trend in hotels. If you are staying somewhere it should be in the room price. However, glad they had a car park as parking would have been difficult.
Review 125:Comfortable slightly old-fashioned hotel which means it has a lot of genuine character rather than designed-character. Great location on the seafront of a pretty town.
Review 126:Poor connection for wifi which could be down to weather.
Review 127:Friendly staff Heated pool Games room Well organised seating for breakfast. ++ breakfast. Very well situated for beach, harbour and local town.
Review 128:Room wasn't ready as in room was booked for 2 adults and 2 children. .....only 1 bed was made up for the children. Shower was blocked however it was fixed straight away.
Review 129:The boys loved the table tennis table. Location is excellent. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was brilliant.
Review 130:Decor a bit tired in bedroom and in certain parts of hotel.
Review 131:Great location, overlooking beach.Staff were very helpful and breakfast was very good.Restaurant prices were reasonable.
Review 132:Parking was difficult. Very hot in the nights so had trouble sleeping. I had my 2 grandsons with me who loved the pool but we could only use it on our first day as the other 2 days it was closed when we wanted to use it because it was being cleaned. The main reason I bokked this hotel was for the pool.
Review 133:The breakfast and the staff
Review 134:The bathroom height was small, my husband was unable to stand properly in the shower. Also there was insufficient water pressure for the shower so couldn't have a proper shower. Also at night toilet wouldn't flush due to lack of water pressure.
Review 135:Pool area for the children and also lovely breakfast
Review 136:The only negatives were that the wi-fi access was quite unreliable although we did get it at times from our room. Also the TV reception was very poor at times which was probably down to a bad signal.
Review 137:The staff were very friendly and would help out whenever there was a problem. Lovely food, great location and a beautiful view from our room of the beach and harbour. We had a superior family room and the beds were really comfortable.
Review 138:I can't think of a thing
Review 139:The all round experience, was totally outstanding in all aspects of service from house staff to management, from breakfast to bed.
The Fine Print
Guests will have to climb 12 steps to gain access to the hotel's rooms. There is an elevator, but it does not provide access to all floors.
