It offers a private bathing jetty as well as panoramic views of the lake, the town of Hallstatt and the impressive Dachstein Mountains. Hallstatt can be reached in a 5-minute drive or by a ferry leaving next to the hotel.

Review 1：We booked a train which arrive at 9pm, but this hotel does not accept check in after 8pm, so we bought another train ticket which costs 50 euro for each person. The room was small and and there is one heater just near the bed, if you open the heater, the person sleep on this bed will feel very hot, and can't sleep. so we shut the heat down, both of us got cold next day.

Review 5：1.Almost lost booking as card was declined one month prior to travel as manager did a card check and I had just ordered a new one awaiting to arrive,was emailed to not come and no longer welcome after retrying to book and made a mistake online, even though you pay on your stay and I was physically still in UK NOT flew yet. 2.Arrived early evening (about 18.00 hrs) and card payment already awaiting signature on check in, haven't seen room or slept yet. 3. Wanted a hot beverage early evening and had to drink in the restaurant downstairs instead of relaxing with loved one upstairs naturally after long journey, as Halstatt is a long windy road to get to. Or later in the room, was told by Manager that the reception was closed at 2000 hrs and the kitchen would be locked. No kettle in room to help customer feel more welcome or relaxed. 4.No smoking ONLY downstairs not even on the balcony with ashtray-good for non smokers, breifed on arrival not when booking. 5.Breakfast Okay, mainly asain travellers around us. Asain people have a lot of money pouring into Halstatt (check Youtube) like to be pampered and should be, so why did we feel at school or being punished and had to pay a lot of good money for on our Honeymoon? They even built a replica town in China. 6.Booking.com sort this out, my confirmation of price to pay for my stay was not including MWST or UK tax. I actually paid 150 euros for a place at school. 7. OVERALL, okay stay, beautiful location, very quiet, otherside of town, opposite of lake (about 2 miles driving), town's beautiful with hotels inside too. Owned and run by good Austrian couple who live upstairs, restaurant closed 2000 hrs. Not convenient if you smoke, like coffee/tea and want to relax in a beautiful area after a long drive. Thank you

If I hadn't already booked my train tickets and hotel rooms for the rest of my journey, I would definitely stayed there for a few more days just to stay at the hotel room to enjoy the view. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was great. will definitely stay here again! by the way, if you plan to visit the 5 fingers (highly recommended), the hotel and the ticket office is actually just around 30 mins walk away. since the bus to and from the ticket office is not very frequent, when we left 5 fingers, we didn't want to sit and wait for over an hour for the next bus so we decided to walk. the walk was pretty good if u don't mind walking.

Review 26：Lake View from the hotel is great!!! Recommend to stay in the lake view room. It is better to drive here. Moreover, the hotel is located close to the park. Good time to sit down and relax. Your kids can run and play in the lake view playground. The owners are great and try their best to run the hotel. They will renovate the hotel (which i think it is still good) in November. I am sure it will be a wonderful place to stay.

Review 27：Mountain view room offered was with basic amenities, with no view of any sort as it opened in parking area. At around 10°c temp heaters were not turned on. if you are traveling with luggage, you will have to haul it up to your room as there are no elevators or any help .

Review 38：The owners of this perfectly located hotel were wonderful. We showed up later then expected and were greeted warmly after a long drive. We were tired and hungry, it was 6 of us, and the owner had us follow him to a restaurant nearby. He lead us in and found us a table. We had a delicious meal and as we were leaving realized that he waited for us to make sure we found our way back to the hotel. What a nice thing to do. The rooms are small but very clean and the view is amazing. The continental breakfast was in an charming room. The owners were there making sure we had coffee and there was plenty of food to fill and satisfy our hungry group. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Review 45：The room was very basic. I stayed as a single individual, and they gave me one towel - no face towels, no hand towels. There was no bath soap or shampoo either. Also because I booked as a single individual, there was only one single blanket and one single pillow, despite having a double bed. Review 50：Beautiful views. Kind staff - really nice family running the place. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. There was a blanket and a towel missing from our room (we got in late and didn't have a chance to tell anyone of the issues because the reception closes by 9pm), and once we told them in the morning, they apologized profusely and also gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Also, we went to the bus station to visit the ice cave at Dachstein-Salzkammergut, but the bus driver told us that he wouldn't take us there because it was snowing and closed. We told the man at the front desk, and he personally called the mountain, found out that it was open, and drove us there himself. Incredible customer service!!

Review 58：The information we received said the hotel had a restaurant, but it was only available for breakfast (included in our room rate). There are only a few other places to eat here, but the cafe next door was open till late every night and the food there was beautiful.

Our room had a balcony looking over the lake with stunning views.So much better than staying in Hallstatt itself where parking is an issue and everything is more expensive. There is a cafe right next door to the hotel with a deck over the water which was fantastic for quality and value of food available.

Review 60：We booked 6 months in advance asking for a room with a balcony. We were allocated a large cupboard with a view (if you stood on a chair). Very poor room, very overpriced. Bathroom similar to an aircraft toilet (about 2sqm).They cannot even run to soap. A beautiful location, but please stay somewhere else in Obertraun.

The other places rejected always or gave us extra blanket. WiFi was fast enough And beyond thouse things, the place had a great view, much much more better than Halsttat. We got an extra low rate on Booking.com had small attic room cozy and fine with the most amazing view in the world. Lake Hallstatt breathtaking. Unfortunately, the hotel has also other rooms, very small, with crowded beds in less than 10 m2, with small windows, without balcony, which are situated at the mansarda. The bathroom is small, ship plastic cabin type. These rooms are at the same price with the ones presented on the site which you think you’ll book.The owner offers dinner services only to some customers and it seems he hunts very often the customers who smoke in their rooms and even in the balcony, giving them a 220 € fine (which otherwise is mentioned on the site). Thank God that are nonsmokersNo fridge, no air conditioning, no restaurant for dinner.Avetii grijă! Review 97：unpleasant owner, before give me keys from my room, he asked my credit card - to make payment. after that he gave me key from room, but it was very small room - less 10 sq.m without WC! I tried to explain that I booked another room but they were rude to me - What is the problem? WC in the corridor and shared only with 2 rooms? - talk to me maid. it took some time to prove that I had paid normal room with my own WC, not shared with somebody else. Finally they gave me normal room, but no excuse from them. At the morning I found something wrong with electricity in my room - no lights. breakfast is miserable. При заселении попросят сделать полную оплату вперед, мне пытались подсунуть номер с общим туалетом на этаже, вместо оплаченного мной одноместного номера. хозяин не вежлив и безразличен, экономия видна во всем - количество и качество еды на завтрак, отсутствие фена и геля для душа, только 2 полотенца (для ног и тела), проблемы с проводкой - ночью вырубился свет в моем номере, а когда утром его починили и я поставила заряжать телефон, свет погас в коридоре отеля . единственное приятное это расположение на берегу, хороший ресторан для ужина, но он вне отеля и заполнен, вы должны ждать в очереди, т.к. летом это оказался единственным работающим рестораном в этом городке.

Might be a bit boring if you stay more than three days. Nice fresh fruit, ham, boiled egg, juice, coffee, bread, yogurt. The bed is a bit soft for me, but I find this is Austria style. Really nice hotel.

Review 128：Beautiful lakeside view, nice and welcoming owner- a nice couple, very clean everywhere, heater in the room, lots of ...I can wash my cloth and put them on the heater, over night, they are dry. Great view, nice wood bed and furniture. Close to train station.

Review 129：Disappointed that there was no restaurant at the hotel although it is advertised as such. Luckily there is one in the resort which is good and a café on the lake.

Review 130：Staff were friendly, although limited English spoken. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable and Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was good quality but limited choice.

Review 131：The town of Obertraun was less developed than Hallstatt, so is more suitable for those who wants a quite place to stay away from crowds of tourists. Though you have to take a 20 mins ferry to Hallstatt if you want to find a supermarket,

Review 132：convenient location beside the pier and 10 minutes walk away from Obertraun railway station. The hotel owner is a couple with a cute boy and an adorable dog, they are super nice and friendly! I got a quite room with balcony and a mountain view, the overall experience was wonderfull
