Reviews for Arkadi Hotel

Review 1:It was perfect in every way....

Review 2:Stayed in this wonderful hotel in November 2015, Room 506 and as advertised the hotel is located in the centre of Chania. Great hotel, location, style, service, rooms, free wi-fi, beautiful bathrobe & slippers, tea & coffee, complimentary toiletries, Greek buffet breakfast and great value for money. All the staff were very helpful, especially Pitsa who took the time to talk to me every morning and hear about my explorations in Chania and forthcoming travels to Rethymno & Heraklion. I would definitely return as the hotel, price and buffet breakfast was fantastic.

Review 3:No fresh bread, just rolls, during our stay except from the last day. Asked to pay by cash due to internet failure although our credit card details were given upon booking.

Review 4:Convenient location, very near to the town centre and the old town.

Review 5:perfect location ,brilliant staff very helpful and always smiling, free WI fi ,free safe in room and free air con all you can eat breakfast and very clean .

Review 6:I shared a triple room which was much smaller than photo indicated, room was cramped. Beds were rock hard & uncomfortable & affected sleeping quality. No soap in reception toilet all week. Breakfast photo somewhat deceiving, no melon

Review 7:Very helpful & pleasant staff Clean facilities

Review 8:Hotel could do with a little updating.

Review 9:The location is the best thing about this hotel - right beside the bus station and less than 5 minutes walk to the port. The staff without exception were extremely friendly and helpful. The provision of comfortable bathrobes and slippers were very welcome after a hard days hiking and a hot shower.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Very convenient location - five minutes from bus station and from harbour. Great views from front upper rooms (Floors 4-5). Very welcoming. Good choice at breakfast. Comfortable rooms inc safe.

Review 12:Needed to get to Chania for flight home great location in 1866 square 150m from bus station. Had wonderful room with large balcony overlooking sea and old town. Nice shower helpful staff would def stay here again.

Review 13:Small room Crowded with large groups of young travelers

Review 14:The staff was wonderful. The room itself was fine but small and dark Breakfast was very good.

Review 15:2nd visit to this hotel, this time was given a much older, smaller room at back of hotel with ugly view of a brick wall.

Review 16:Buffet breakfast is very good.

Review 17:No air con so I'd say rooms would get very hot in the middle of summer.

Review 18:Lovely hotel. Great location. Short walk from the port. Staff are very friendly. Would definitely go back.

Review 19:Just need a toaster in the breakfast area.

Review 20:The room was too big with all the nessesary like shampoo, soap, slippers, towels nescafe, kettle, milk. The location is excellent, five minutes to the port. Mrs pitsa was very helpful. 5th floor is the best 501-504

Review 21:Breakfast room very crowded - my unfinished breakfast got cleared away when I left my table to get more coffee!

Review 22:Room very comfortable and quiet - even in a busy area of the city. Convenient for bus station and old town and harbourside area.

Review 23:Day staff could be a bit more helpful by focusing on curtesy and attention to guests checking in and to special requests.

Review 24:Right in the middle of town and easy to navigate the major tourist areas and surrounding areas and the harbor. Breakfast was good. Easy access to the bus station. Good value.

Review 25:booked a double room but the room had 3 singles, 2 beds pushed together to make a double. Booking agents should not allow hotels to sell a product they do not have.

Review 26:very good location, near bus stop harbour, park and restaurants, air condition worked perfectly, breakfast reasonably good. Good big shower, good sized fridge in the room. Helpful and friendly staff.

Review 27:nothing

Review 28:Great stuff - we left early morning so we got take away lunch box (lots of things), there was free parking (but not a big one), great location - close to old town and bus station

Review 29:Air conditioner flooded water at 02.30hrs. Leaked onto the pillow directly below onto my head and bed. We were informed that it was a new air conditioner. It has given us lots to talk and laugh about.

Review 30:Location was close to the Ferry to Santorini - very convenient.

Review 31:Parking can be tricky. With some patience you will get lucky across the street at the square. If you're feeling brave and have a small car, ask on arrival for any available spots at the underground hotel parking.

Review 32:Fantastic location for walks down to the old harbour, 0 noise from the street in the room due to thick glass balcony doors.

Review 33:Great location in town square within walking distance to sights and port and bus stop close by to go to other destinations airport. Clean, friendly great value for money.

Review 34:Some slamming of the doors and noise from moving chairs and furniture. They wanted me to leave my Passport and pick up up later - not a good idea these days. One of the ladies didn't tell me about the computer and printer upstairs to print my boarding card, and sent me to a cybercafe!!

Review 35:The hotel is in a good location, not far from the port, but it's a bit old and needs some renovation. Could use a little PAINT, with nice bright colors, as it's a bit DRAB. They make up for the old nature of the hotel with a bathrobe and slippers in the room, it was quite acceptable and good value for money considering it was August and there were millions of tourists. Breakfast is fine, air con and TV fine, just needs a little upgrading with the facilities.

Review 36:The location is fantastic, very close to the bus station and only a couple of minutes walk to the old town. The breakfast was very good, fresh orange juice and good selection of everything.

Review 37:The only minor problem is sometimes finding a parking space near the hotel due to its central location.

Review 38:The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast really good.

Review 39:The Hotel might look scrufy on the outside but it is all but scrufy on the inside ! Nice, clean, friendly staff, etc,...

Review 40:The night Receptionist was a really nice guy which spoke Spanish and gave us all the hints about where to go. We were lucky to have got an upgrade to a really nice bedroom with view to the main street. Breakfast was nice. This Hotel is very handy as it is right on the center of Hania by the Bus Terminal and a great equation of Quality / Price. Would definately return and recommend it !

Review 41:- no electric kettles in room

Review 42:+ very friendly and helpful staff + Excellent cretan breakfast + Clean + Good bathroom + Excellent value for money + Location + Balcony

Review 43:Wifi was inadequate - had to go out into the hallway to get access to internet. The balcony door would not lock. The matresses were very uncomfortable - too hard.

Review 44:Breakfast was great!

Review 45:The description text was not clear. We thought we would have a room facing the port, but it was facing to the back/another building.

Review 46:The staff are nice and helpful. They even help us to store our luggage before we check in. The location is perfect, which is close to the bus station, a supermarket, nice cafes and the port. They also offer to keep money and valuable things, which help people who go to the beach.

Review 47:Internet corner often simply did not work and when I needed to print my boarding passes I had to go to an internet cafe to do so. Very annoying.

Review 48:Lovely breakfast and clean rooms.

Review 49:The air conditioning unit was old and the fanning system was broken. The breakfast is extremely poor. You can find better options at close by tavernas. The elevator is old and very small.

Review 50:The location is fabulous! Close to the shopping area, waterfront, archaeological museum! I had a room on the 5th floor with a balcony and a superb view of the sea on one side and the mountains on the other side. The value for money is very good!

Review 51:The "Temperature Down" button of A/C remote controller was broken. The replacement was quick and fine.

Review 52:The location is close to the bus station and to the shopping street as well. The staff were friendly to allow us park right in front of the hotel.

Review 53:They didn't claim to have a hotel pool, but it would lift the experience even more.

Review 54:Staff speaks good English and is very helpful and friendly. Excellent wifi everywhere and the A/C works. We parked our rental car in the basement one night, very handy.

Review 55:It took around one hour to fix the remote control of airconditioner. Also had a problem with rollet, it could not go up completely, needed to ask for a help. Also it's very nosy outside and room is not comfortable.

Review 56:Fresh orange juice at breakfast, wifi, close to bus station, supermarkets and old center

Review 59:Something weird was going on with the shower, the water would just overflow straight into the bathroom and into the bedroom, it must have just been poorly planned. This was annoying but certainly not a deal breaker.

Review 60:The staff was SO helpful in advising us where to walk around and helping us pick a beach. The breakfast was nice and the location could not be more perfect. Overall the experience was above average for accommodations in this price range.

Review 61:Utterly useless Wi-Fi in rooms, tiny lifts and balconies, poor control for AC (essential given obvious traffic noise)

Review 62:Brilliant location. Breakfast better than many Greek ones with good coffee and proper orange juice. Comfortable rooms with many extras... but

Review 63:Location near the main bus stops, 5 min to reach the Venetian harbour with the beautiful promenade and Old Town, shops, torusits offices and everything you need just in front of the hotel. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. WIFI is everywhere. Stuff was very helpful.

Review 64:The location was perfect for the bus station and the Old Town. The receptionist was extremely good trying to sort out our hire car. The choice and quality of the breakfast was very good.

Review 65:- staff was friendly but not organized... - Wifi connection was extremaly weak - location in the city centre, noise during the night - breakfast not with big choice

Review 66:- location - less then 5 minuts by foot to the port, close to markets and beaches

Review 67:The room was really small and, at checking out we were informed that they have a problem with credit card and we had to pay with cash. Also the orange juice was only one glass per person per day.

Review 68:The location was perfert. Near to old city and also near to shops and malls. the air cond worked well and the staff was very gentle.

Review 69:Had to pay cash on exit - credit card machine not working (Seeing this more and more these days?)

Review 70:Hotel is right in the heart of Chania with quick access to the old harbour and transport links. Taxi rank, ATM and eateries right outside and also a little square leading to the Bus Station. Good value for money,

Review 71:Piękny pokój, duży taras/balkon z przepięknym widokiem na miasto i oddalone morze. Smaczne śniadanie. Świetna lokalizacja, blisko zarówno do portu jak i do dworca autobusowego/przystanku na lotnisko.

Review 72:Bathroom door didn't close, the main door of the room took 5 minutes to close when leaving the room due to broken door handle.

Review 73:Breakfast, very nice staff, location, free wi-fi

Review 74:If you can, request a room with sea views. After a slight confusion upon arrival, Pisa ensured we were not disappointed. Overlooking the town square, we had a view of both the sea and the mountain range and a glimpse of the life in town because the hotel is conveniently located next to the old town with shops and restaurants . The hotel room service was excellent, breakfast was a lavish buffet with fresh orange juice and the personnel really amenable and pleasant , ensuring our stay was the best. We stayed for 5 nights and will visit again.

Review 75:We had to ask for tea and coffee for the room each day as this was not automatically replenished. We think it's a bit wasteful to change the bars of soap each day.

Review 76:The staff are very accommodating and the hotel is in an an ideal situation for the shops, restaurants, the harbour and in particular the bus station.

Review 77:Clean comfortable room with all amenities. Great breakfast and very pleasant and helpful staff. Close to the old harbour. Traffic is very heavy in Chania and on-street parking practically impossible. Be sure to use the hotel's small underground car park

Review 78:The staff was superficial; I had a problem and they wanted me to simply disappear, but smiled big false smiles...I started to cry and finally the desk clerk decided to try to help me. Her efforts made me feel as if I were discomfiting her. For the price of this hotel, I expected better. I had a great - no excellent - time at hotels on Ctete half this price.

Review 79:The location was great, breakfast very nice

Review 80:The hotel is super casual with poor breakfast and not very nice location. Every day of vacations deserves to be spent in the nice apartments or hotels and we did not succeed to make this in Arkadi Hotel. Tiny dry and not renewed (for ages!) hotel even more dissapointed us when we saw plenty of wonderful apartments just 300 meters away. If you want your holidays to be nice 24/7 please look for more distinctive and cosy hotels/apartments.

Review 81:When we decided (last minute) to take our son with us the hotel changed the room from double to triple with no extra charge.

Review 82:The parking of the hotel is small. The visitor may need to park in roads near the hotel due to the fact that the parking is small.

Review 83:Location was excellent and the staff very helpful.

Review 84:It was a big difference between the rooms we had. Some of us didnt get new towels every day. some had great view and others just saw the backyard.

Review 85:Very good location - nearby to everything. Just a few minutes walk to the old town and harbour. Good breakfast.

Review 86:poor wifi signal in my room, rather poor view from tiny balcony

Review 87:fantastic location, 100 meter from bus station, 300 meters from marina , near city square

Review 88:Hotel need some renovation. Parking is difficult as everywhere in the center of Chania

Review 89:Fast WiFi, nice room with great view (take upper floor), helpful staff, good breakfast, located just 3-5 min from the old port. Will visit again :)

Review 90:Good location, harbor and bus station are near, also many shops around, responsible and friendly staff, comfortable beds, all is clean, we liked to stay here.

Review 91:The rear rooms don't have a view.

Review 92:Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Very professional. Location was excellent and rooms very clean. Would definitely stay again. Room rates were very reasonable.

Review 93:Could have had proper orange juice at the breakfast buffet!

Review 94:Centrally located, handy for everything. Good wifi, rooms rather old but very clean and comfortable, staff very helpful, buffet breakfast.

Review 95:The towels were changed whether needed or not and the soap was also changed every day..not necessary in my opinion. The tea/coffee/milk however was not replaced on a daily basis. There were no social facilities, stocked bar, music etc

Review 96:The location was very central and within walking distance of the harbour etc. A nice view from the balcony too. The breakfast was adequate & it was good to have a fridge in the room.

Review 97:NOTHING.Just perfect.

Review 98:Arkadi Hotel is only mimutes walk from the bus station in one direction and the old town and port in another, with masses of restaurants available. The staff are First class, friendly, helpful and charming. The rooms on the Top floor with huge balcony are a joy to use.

Review 99:Very poor breakfast and weak wifi signal

Review 100:Its a simple hotel with very good location in Chania - literally 1 min walk from the old town/marina of Chania. Rooms a average, beds are ok.

Review 101:the garage is a nightmare to park and get out of (that ramp is too short & steep)

Review 102:quiet location on square next to the old town. fresh orange juice (which was very rare on our 2 week trip in Greece) and a varied breakfast.

Review 103:Good location for bus station for travel to airport and around Crete. Central to Chania. Clean hotel with good breakfast and good value at Booking.com price. More like a business hotel than a holiday hotel.

Review 104:The ladies in the reception were lovely and very friendly! The wifi is good and fast and the location is super just 2 min walk from the old port and 1 min from the main bus station! BreakfAst was really good with many choices!

Review 105:Wi-fi was sometimes patchy

Review 106:The location was superb, situated right next to the old town area. Met all the expectations of a low cost basic modern European hotel

Review 107:Very qood location near to the Chania harbor & shopping center, the staff was very friendly and helpful! fresh juice served at breakfast - best juice i have ever drinked in a hotel !!!

Review 108:A bit noisy at night, but if you close the window it is silent and comfortable to sleep.

Review 109:Very good location, nice staff, good breakfast even though it is the same every day.

Review 110:We were a group of 3 friends and booked a triple. This was one of the larger hotels that we stayed in and it seems there is a theme of these larger hotels having even smaller space in the room. It was somewhat cramped and we had very little space or even ability to put our bags on anything. The bathroom was a smaller version of what should be in a room for two people, and with no shelves or ledges to put any products... Hotels are for travelers, I just don't understand the lack of space or shelving or storage to put things on?? Additionally the shower was so small that you couldn't even raise your hands to wash yourself without the old shower curtain sticking to you... such a gross feeling when you're just trying to get clean.

Review 111:The Arkadi hotel is conveniently located about a 3-4 minute walk from the main bus station and about a 5-7 minute walk to the old port area. The hotel has a nice reception area and a very friendly staff. Check-in was quick and easy. The room itself was clean and had what we were hoping for, a refrigerator, blow dryer, and a safe. The breakfast was really nice. It had an ample supply and good array of choices, with a plus of fresh squeezed OJ!!

Review 112:Noisy guests along the corridor for one night. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Review 113:Great location, fabulous breakfast, friendly & helpful staff, immaculate room with comfortable beds, 24hour check in all at a very reasonable rate.

Review 114:This hotel isn't luxurious, but considering the price, you wouldn't expect it to be.

Review 115:Arkadi hotel is smack in the middle of Chania Town, close to the old town, the harbor, and many other attractions. The rooms are well-sized, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite tasty--more than the standard Continental breakfast you get at most hotels. Arkadi Hotel is excellent value for money.

Review 116:The room was somehow small. The hotel is located on a very busy square, so there was a lot of noise all day and night long. Prefer a room on higher floors. The hotel says they have an underground parking, but big cars do not fit in there.

Review 117:The location is perfect. Just at the beginning of the pedestrian road with all the small touristic shops. 5 min away from the port with the restaurants and the bars. Very very close to backeries (if you do not have breakfast included). The breakfast is good, but do not expect something spectacular.

Review 118:balcony very small and grim view - we were at the back of the hotel

Review 119:Close to bus station, easy walk to harbour and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast, clean comfy beds, good wifi.

Review 120:Noise from a/c on the balkony. Guests are not allowed in the rooms.

Review 121:Staff was nice, room was spacious, good location - 5 minutes walk to the old harbour.

Review 122:Rooms and breakfast room are rather basic, but the price/quality ratio is correct.

Review 123:Location of Arkadi Hotel is excellent : close to the bus station and the old city. The breakfast is just okay if you stay only a few days (not too much variety), the nice thing is that you get one delicious fresh orange juice every morning. Excellent wifi connection in the room.

Review 124:1. The photos of the hotel rooms in Booking are not representative, as the furniture in my room were few and quite old-fashioned, the bathroom had rust in some places and the internal decoration was out of date. 2. The balcony was too small and dirty, it only had a plastic chair that stinked, so it was impossible to sit outside at all. 3. I totally stayed in the hotel 4 nights and the towels were changed only once! As for the sheets, I can barely beleive that they were changed because I found some hair on them. 4.There was a certain employee in the reception that was generally rude and unfriendly and who didn't allow us having any visitor in the room at all. We finally convinced her to let my friend visit me in my room for just one quarter and only after giving her his identity card. Generally, that is the policy of the hotel. 5. When I kindly asked from the reception officer an additional clean towel, she rudely told me that it is unconceived using different towels for hands and face!!! Finally, she gave me a "clean" one but I got furious when I found out returning to my room that the towel was not clean, but dirty with spots of blood in it! 6. Very old and small elevator (2-3 persons only) 7. Lastly, breakfast was plain and indifferent and the milk was of a secondary quality.

Review 125:Noise in front of the hotel

Review 126:Breakfast was very good, situation in the center of city close to all resto and bars, close to the bus for Agia Marina beach that is a perfect beach for everyone. To visit Balos and Elafonisi you need a car anyway. The staff of reception very helpfull .

Review 127:They can make the room just a bit just a bit more modern and stylish, but isn't bad at all.

Review 128:The location is excellent, very close to the Chania bus station which leads you to the main beaches in the area and also very close to Chania Old town and Port. Very good breakfast, helpful staff and comfortable bed! Wi-fi working great.

Review 129:Nothing!

Review 130:Perfect position to visit the city without be lost in its narrow streets. We had a nice room in the last floor with an amazing terrace, we loved it very much even if the room was small. Good breakfast and possibility to find a free parking near the hotel. Good price for the quality they offer.

Review 131:Comfortable room, larger than we expected for the price. The balcony was a bonus with lovely views across the city. We chose the hotel as we had an early coach ride and it is very convenient for the coach station.

Review 132:Nothing, everything was fine.

Review 133:Staff very helpful and understanding. Excellent location next to the main walking area. Free parking on the square (but you need to be lucky). Very good breakfast.

Review 134:My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of our vacation on the Greek Islands. We booked this hotel because we wanted to be closer to the airport for our flight the next morning. The room was a good value for the price. There was also a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. It was close to the main bus terminal.
