Reviews for Jurys Inn East Midlands Airport

Review 1:I had one of the older rooms in the ground floor and the room had a little bit of a musty smell. Aircondition instead of a normal heating, little bit difficult to adjust to get a comfortable temperature in the room.

Review 2:Staff was very friendly, just 5 minutes walk to the airport departure, rooms were easy but clean and well equipped, all you need is there, even an iron

Review 3:Started our honeymoon here & was a nightmare. Ruined our first night. It did not state that they were refurbishing when booked. To get to our room we had to push past a no access sign. We went down to double check with reception that we had got the right room. Got into the room and there were holes in 3 of the 4 walls and the TV didn't work. The walls were paper thin and the neighbour was on the phone until the early hours and drying their hair at 1 in the morning! Our flight was at 6am so we had to be up at 4am. We went to the restaurant and we both picked the burger. My wife asked for hers plain with just cheese. It came out coated in mayo and salad so I asked if it was possible to have it plain, 2 mins later the woman came back out and it was the same burger on a new bun. My wife lifted the burger up and mayo was still on the burger and was clear they had tried to scrape it off. I told them about it and the waitress just said oh that's not good and walked off, my wife couldnt eat it so just ate the chips and they still charged us 12.95. To try and pick things up we decided to go for a swim. The pool was lovely and warm and the only good thing we experienced about the hotel except the person working there tried telling us it shuts at 8.30pm and we only have 15mins to swim when it is supposed to close at 9pm. The waiting staff were rude and unhelpful and with everything added together it was not the best start to our few days away. Ive stayed in 2* hotels with better services and more accommadating staff. Not at all what you expect from a 4*

Review 4:Warm and inviting pool

Review 5:Checked about 22.40, went into bar at 5 mind later, closed.staff informed me very quite, they turned pumps off and unable to give me draft or any beverage, till closed.go to reception, sorry, This is a hotel and only 22.45pm and I've had a long day and do not expect this. Bar food next day ,burger dry, had been cooked before I had even ordered it, as it arrived at my table within 5 minutes . ..? ,I stay here every six months for last the 9 years?

Review 6:Check in, information on request, express check out

Review 7:Having reception tell you bar open until 11 then to arrive for a quick drink at 10:50 to watch staff look at you then lock all the fridges and say bars closed, your too late!!!

Review 8:Location

Review 9:TV in room had poor reception with limited English channels working. Food a little expensive, we found other places to eat more affordable. Room could have been cleaner; a hair was in the bath and on the sink top and a hair band remained on the floor behind the door for the 4 nights we stayed.

Review 10:We were central to where we needed to travel each day (Leic, Derby, Notts).

Review 11:Decor needs upgrading (which is in hand) Bar menu could be expanded. Very basic. Extra pillows could be provided in rooms. Upgrade TV please. Reception on tv poor.

Review 12:Proximity to EM Airport

Review 13:If it was raining (lucky for us it wasn´t) I think we would have hated the 5 minute walk (there is no cover/shelter) so recommend bringing an umbrella!!

Review 14:Great hotel, good location, excellent breakfast - overall clean, modern and good value for money. Better than we expected for the price.

Review 15:We got there the day before the official handover to Jury's. The place was chaotic and so busy that evening with a function that it was too difficult to get served. Room just ok.

Review 16:The location is great .....within walking distance if airport .

Review 17:We were made to feel very welcome at reception, and luke in the bar was excelent.the room was so comfortable.it was so near to the arrivels for our trip.

Review 18:No staff on reception. No staff available during fire alarm to help & inform guests. Reception staff weren't welcoming on arrivals or check out. Carpets in need or serious Hoover.

Review 19:Very easy to find and in a good location for further travel. The evening meal was very nice even though lots of menu items were not available.

Review 20:Not relevant

Review 21:The terrific nearness to the airport. The extreme help and politeness of your Hungarian female receptionist, and the fact that you had a small but more than adequate health and fitness centre.

Review 22:Good location, closest hotel to the airport, 2 minute walk from terminal. We arrived at 9.30am and they were happy to check us in as they had rooms available.

Review 23:Unfortunately the general standard of the services on offer fell well below Jury's usual standard as room service consisted of a pizza after 10pm, no side orders and drinks very limited. Breakfast was very poor, cold and undercooked. Not ideal for a business trip.

Review 24:The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 25:For the price it's not worth it. The place is grubby and in urgent need of refurbishment. Staff need to be more customer focused. Eg - I was told to find my own table then come back with my food order. Creaky floorboards along corridor does not help with the noise. Stay away if possible.

Review 26:When turned bathroom light on the motor was really loud. Took ages to go off. Could have better choice of TV channels as well. Room service delivery a bit pricey.

Review 27:Nice big comfy bed. Nice seating arrangements.

Review 28:The fact that my tastecard was valid to use on the Saturday and I was upgraded to a better room for free. Great stay will definitely be back great start to our holiday. Thank you

Review 29:Stayed 3 nights and had false fire alarm go off on two nights, at 4.45 am and 5.50 am, both events requiring full evacuation of hotel. Deeply unimpressed. Bar staff..... one particular female member had a bad attitude. Glass Half empty doesn't cover it. Bed hard. Need to talk to premier Inn and find out where they get their mattresses from.....

Review 30:Reception staff very good.Location good. Bar meals good value and good quality.

Review 31:Having to drag a pushchair and heavy cases up a flight of stairs. Very noisy, creaky floor could hear people walking past room all night.

Review 32:Close to airport.

Review 33:bedroom very average and in need of refurbishment Bathroom very shabby : inside bathroom door - disgusting.

Review 34:Staff were exceptionally nice - particularly Ashley - very attentive and polite.

Review 35:the first impression was disappointing . An old refectory style table with an ancient Christmas decoration , an odd motorbike diusplayed against the back wall and some old leather armchairs - all very miserable and needs some serious attention .

Review 36:convenient , pleasant staff , a lovely snack at 6 ish and good breakfast next morning in the light and airy conservatory . bedroom perfectly adequate a comfortable bed , great double glazing ( we didn't hear a thing from the adjacent airport ) and an okay bathroom .

Review 37:Nothing. It was clean, convenient, comfortable and had everything I needed for my one night stay.

Review 38:Location to East Midlands Airport is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were polite and helpful. I would certainly stay again.

Review 39:5£ Charges for room tray service is ridiculous but a good menu, cost of meals a bit high though and my air conditioning didn't work

Review 40:Room service available until late Pool Nce rooms Nice designated smoking area

Review 41:Front desk gave us the wrong room number due to a back office error, wouldn't have liked to have been the person we probably woke up trying the wrong door at 1am.

Review 42:Location is perfect for an early departure, though it's a bit of a trek from the car rental returns.

Review 43:Prices in bar far too high. No lift and we had a lot of luggage, the staff did help us, to get all the luggage down the stairs, also arranged for a trolley to go to the airport, would like to be able to request ground floor room when booking.

Review 44:Room was excellent

Review 45:Food was average and a bit pricey, also there's no early breakfast available which is odd as many guests stay there because they have an early flight, as we did.

Review 46:Friendly staff and great location for airport

Review 47:Main entrance not immediately obvious from the car park

Review 48:checking-in at 1.30 am after a long flight we received a warm welcome from reception and were offered an upgrade to our booked room. What more could you ask for.

Review 49:Your scoring system! 2.5 when I've hit the lowest scores tell me all I ned to know. Its all fake! the hotel is tired and broken, the rooms are terrible and I wont be back... not that I'm sure you care

Review 50:There were no negatives to my visit

Review 51:The 5 minute walk to the departure lounge. The room was spacious and the bed lovely and comfortable. The staff were friendly and most welcoming.

Review 52:Walking distance to airport

Review 53:You are even charged to be dropped off at reception. Everything about this airport and it's facilities are targeted at extracting money out of unsuspecting passengers.

Review 54:It was a longish walk along the corridors to our room which was one of the furthest away from Reception.

Review 55:The hotel's location was excellent for us as we were flying out of East Midlands at 6am the next morning and we required easy access to the Departures terminal. We were able to walk there easily with our luggage in just a few minutes. Hotel staff were very professional, and our room was pleasant, of a good size and well appointed. We would certainly stay there again.

Review 56:The only issue I had was the noise from people passing in the corridor during the night which woken me a few times

Review 57:The staff were very helpful and the location adjacent to the airport was excellent. It was nearer to walk from the hotel to the airport than from the car rental pick up area.

Review 58:The rooms and facilities were tired and shabby in places. It needs renovating.

Review 59:Generally its a nice place and the atmosphere was pleasant. The location for the airport is good.

Review 60:The hotel has been extended at some time ..it was a heck of a long walk from reception to room and from room to restaurant and bar

Review 61:Quiet although near airport, large well furnished room, comfortable bed.

Review 62:No lift! Only one floor but with suitcase and athritis not easy ! Was half way down staircase at 3-30am before help arrived

Review 63:Walking distance for very early flight from airport. Rooms warm and comfort able

Review 64:Gym needs an upgrade. Room I had(65)is next to where the cleaners get their stuff in the morning so very noisy around 7.30am

Review 65:Location, easy walking distance from the terminal

Review 66:I had a room on the first floor and the hotel has no lift so I had to carry my suitcase upstairs and as I've just had a knee replacement it was very painful for me

Review 67:There was no lift to the first floor. I feel that the staff are expected to cope with some heavy cases considering most people's reason for staying there.

Review 68:The staff were excellent, the bed was comfortable, the food was good with a fair choice. It is very convenient when your flight time is 6.45am.

Review 69:We needed a bottle of water in the room which we bought from the bar at a cost of £5.50! Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be a good idea. The shower did not work and unfortunately we did not have time to have it checked as we were on a tight schedule.

Review 70:Very convenient for the airport. Very comfortable bed.

Review 71:No information in the room only menus. Didn't find tea/coffee making facilities until we were leaving.

Review 72:Went to a wedding in a nearby hotel . Location was good. Great if you are using the airport.

Review 73:The staff looked a little unkempt. It was a little noisy during the night as guests came and went to and from the airport.

Review 74:Very comfy beds. Basic but functional room. Good shower. Good wifi.

Review 75:Perfect short walk to the terminal, hotel staff were very friendly, restaurant food lovely, drinks a little pricey but a fantastic way to start our holiday, will definately use again

Review 76:No directions to the hotel on info provided so had to call from airport. 2 x staff in the bar need some support with training in terms of the focus being on customer satisfaction.. At 2pm didn't know what the soup of the day was. More interested in chatting than clearing the dirty tables (there only was one - and there were only 2 other occupied so they were hardly busy). Shift change meant I had to chase for 2 of the 3 items I had ordered. Disappointing. Happy to give more specific details if the hotel wishes to contact me.

Review 77:Lovely room and well maintained hotel. Helpful reception staff.

Review 78:staff not very helpful. food quite expensive. no mention of swimming lessons so missed out on using the pool as it was occupied for this

Review 79:very close to the airport. - 5 min walk

Review 80:The distance from rooms to reception. I couldn't find a lift although I was asked if I needed help with luggage on arrival. Lack of a vending machine

Review 81:Convenience of the airport for travelling. Room facilities and hospitality

Review 82:Your booking form clearly stated that it was not necessary to book parking as it would be available at the hotel. Alas there was none available and my husband and I spent over an hour running around trying to find a space somewhere, we were exhausted and it was not a good way to start our holiday. Might I suggest that you change the wording on your booking form to "it is advisable to check directly with the hotel regarding parking. We also had to pay for extra luggage 2kg as we were unable to put our nightmare, coats etc back into our car as the meet and greet service moved our car the evening before we flew.

Review 83:We had to wait for a long time to be served in the bar restaurant.I had to go back to the bar to remind them that no one had come to us with menus as promised. The staff were jowever very appologetic .

Review 84:Lack of any car parking spaces and the handicapped person in our party had a room about as far as possible from the reception, despite a request to have a room as close as possible.

Review 85:The price and availability

Review 86:Slightly over friendly waiter. Not being told about the leisure facilities through Booking.com We didn't bring our trunks!

Review 87:Food in the Bar was good. Nice environment and leisure facilities

Review 88:Fire Alarm caused by a fault in their system at 2.30am. No explanation or apology the next morning or offer of a reduction in room rate - which I feel should have been offered.

Review 89:Bar / restaurant staff were excellent - helpful and friendly. Nice for a solo traveller

Review 90:Due to the proximity to the airport, a lot of guests coming in throughout the night making it a bit noisy. Pool a bit dirty (sand on the bottom corners, and walls a bit dirty too), but really warm water :)

Review 91:Comfy room, lovely restaurant and bar, nice health centre facilities. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Review 92:You couldn't get closer to the airport if you tried. Perfect if you have an early morning flight and there is even a swimming pool to get you in the holiday mood. Lovely staff and quiet rooms for a good nights sleep.

Review 93:There could be more lights in the room but I find this is many hotels at the moment.

Review 94:You couldn't get closer to the airport if you tried. Lovely hotel and staff made for a relaxing stay before our holidays. Thank you.

Review 95:The room did not smell nice at all (old or wet carpet? ...) and was forced to keep the windows open. Also my colleague had the same issue in another part of the building. 10£ for breakfast is very steep especially if you are after a continental one.

Review 96:Position is great

Review 97:If raining the walk to the departures with luggage could be a problem - a transfer car would be good.

Review 98:The closeness of the hotel to the airport, easy to walk to departures in minutes. Rooms very quiet

Review 99:Swimming Pool, Steam room etc were not very clean. the whole leisure area is in need of upgrading but cleanliness could be improved. Smell of dampness and mustiness in room which was not pleasant

Review 100:Friendly staff

Review 101:The moldy grout in the bathroom along with lime residue under the toilet and dirt round the fixings. Litter in the corridors. The jacuzzi was closed off. The state of the pool and as a pool cleaner myself I was disgusted with the dirt floating around and the mild in the grout lines. The surrounding area was also very dirty. The changing rooms worse.

Review 102:Friendly staff.

Review 103:Old unpleasant rooms. Food is not consistent, oscillating from fair to very good on the same dishes. Good have more standardization and speediness. There was one day where there were 2 bartenders for a full lounge. Despite that, one of the most helpful and friendliest staff members I have ever found. Very pleasant.

Review 104:Very friendly and fhelful staff, they try to cater for all our needs during the stay.

Review 105:Not very clean. Dust everywhere not hovered very dated. Not very good first impression as you came in the door, carpet dirty and the centre table has not seen a clean in a very long time.

Review 106:It was near the airport

Review 107:I only stayed one night and I didn't find anything that I didn't like about the hotel.

Review 108:The hotel was extremly convenient to the EMA. The room was clean, comfortable, and good value for the price.

Review 109:The lift was out of use so between us and the staff we had to carry our luggage (nearly 20k each) to the top of the stairs. Not good! Will defo use this hotel again but only upon us checking the the lift is in use.

Review 110:Very close to the airport, which is why we chose the hotel

Review 111:No dislikes.

Review 112:An ideal hotel if using the airport as it is literally on the doorstep; hotel comfortable, clean and the staff were friendly. I always use this hotel if I am flying to/from EMA.

Review 113:Not enough milk in the room for more than 1 brew yet there was plenty of satchets of coffee & tea. Wasn't informed from staff or info given with the key card that they key card had to be away from several things such as mobiles & cards otherwise needs reprogramming, ours needed it

Review 114:Friendly staff, spacious entrance, and loved being able to make room as hot or cold as we wished with the air con heater

Review 115:Bathroom had black mould around the edge of bath. Dust and grime at the back of toilet, off putting. Not at all what I am used to. Reception guy at check in was very brusque. Not expected for £75 per night. Car park charged £2.00 just to be dropped off.

Review 116:Location to airport. 5 mins walk to terminal. A/C. Reception girl at 4am was lovely.

Review 117:I arrived late in the evening tired and hungry after 36 hourstravelling. When I got to my room I tried to call room service for somefood but the telephone didn't work. I went back to reception and thereceptionist simply pointed toward the restaurant and said I could orderfood myself. I explained that I was very tired and asked him to do itfor me. An hour later I called reception on my mobile phone to ask wheremy food was and was told that there was no order for my room. Thereceptionist had gone home without placing my order. I placed the orderagain and got my food 20 minutes later (now 00.15am). Whilst waiting Idecided to iron a shirt. The iron was a toy, no steam function, itdidn't make any impression on my linen shirt. The tv remotecontroller was extremely difficult to use. There was no wall socket forthe standard lamp in the corner of the room. I rate this hotel sse -Stay Somewhere Else.

Review 118:I felt a bit rushed in the restaurant when a junior waitress brought my bill before I had finished?

Review 119:Friendly and helpful staff both in the hotel and the pool.

Review 120:The room has really seen much better days and cleaning needs attention! Black mould around the tiles of the bath and taps and loo could do with a proper cleaning. Don't think the back of the bathroom door has been cleaned since day dot with all the marks there. Towels a lovely shade of grey. Food quite expensive for what it is and having sports on in the bar is not great. Breakfast was better and cheaper in the airport! Having the cleaners start hovering before 9am - thanks, but I didn't need the wake-up! Wouldn't choose again unless I really needed it for the airport or it has had a revamp. Far too expensive for the condition it is in.

Review 121:Bar staff very helpful and friendly.

Review 122:It is old fashioned and drab. They charged us £10 each for a very poor breakfast. The room had a shower over bath with shower curtain!!!! The shower was off the taps and therefore not thermostatically controlled. I thought these had been outlawed years ago.

Review 123:Location. We walked from the airport.

Review 124:Air con in room did nothing. Bar closes to residents at eleven pm. Couldn't use pool due to swimming lessons and Jacuzzi was out of order. Might have well stayed at the Travelodge.

Review 125:Close to Donnington park.

Review 126:Needs a lift, this is an airport hotel & everyone has large, heavy cases, the stairs are not easy. Hotel generally is a bit tatty & a bit expensive.

Review 127:Good location, within walking distance to the airport, rooms ok.No time for breakfast.

Review 128:tired room with horrible grungy carpet ! The hotel is obviously well used and as such does not get the necessary attention to detail required when it comes to decorating and carpet replacement. Our room felt grubby in particular the carpet which we tried to avoid walking on bare footed. It also had a musty smell, not pleasant at all . We should have probably asked to look at another room but we arrived late from a days work and we're leaving early for a flight the next morning so we couldn't be bothered.

Review 129:friendly staff , breakfast , located on airport

Review 130:Good external sound proofing ensure you cannot hear any road noise or aircraft noise. Unfortunately interior sound proofing is poor so that conversations in the corridors are heard. That's really down to inconsiderate people and not the hotel.

Review 131:Location is excellent. Room is comfortable but bathrooms although clean, could do with upgrading.

Review 132:The hotel is "tired" and needs refurbishment. There is hardly a floor board in the hotel that doesn't creak as you walk over it - very disturbing! There is a so-called air condition system that does very little in the winter, so that the only way to get air into the room is to open the window and then get a lot of road and air traffic noise. For a 3 star hotel it is pretty "average"

Review 133:Food in dining room is good as also the early morning breakfast sent to the room. Hotel is very convenient for the airport, just 5 minutes walk with bags.

Review 134:- EMA airport is very small, and there is no indication how to reach the hotel from the airport, I had to ask at the taxi front desk for directions. By walk it is 5 minutes from the airport, but no pedestrian road. The hotel is behind the BP station.

Review 135:- Excellent free wifi (one of the best I have experienced in a hotel) - Nice breakfast but I was not offered a seat under the veranda (it was sunny on that day). - Friendly staff.

Review 136:Expensive breakfast at £16 Wi-Fi did not work within exhibition area near dining area I was given cold room, could nto get heating to work, had to request a change of rooms

Review 137:Helpful staff

Review 138:The flights did not stop all night long. My room was noisy, and I did not sleep at all. When checking out I was told that I could have swapped to a new room, but when I checked in I was told that the hotel was full, so I had not thought that anything could be don.
