Reviews for Coombe Brook
Review 1:Lovely rural location, but not far from the town of Dawlish. Wonderful Art Deco property with stunning features both internally and externally. Room was large, bathroom huge too, with original bath, sink and loo! Fluffy towels, fresh flowers, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. Needed a gluten free breakfast, this was no trouble at all for the host Tim, who cooked and served everything. Breakfast was endless and delicious. I couldn't recommend anywhere more than Coombe Brook and our host Tim.
Review 2:Had trouble finding it first time (we didn't have GPS), perhaps put mud map on the website. WiFi reception in top rooms very weak. Victorian plumbing in toilet may go a tad too far to preserve the otherwise very genuine "good ol' days" style of the premises, furniture and in particular the hospitality.
Review 3:Beautiful country residence in very quiet area 5 minutes' drive outside of town, being looked after personally by the very friendly owners. Superb English breakfast (the works) plus very good coffee, home made jams etc.
Review 4:If you arrivew in the dark, it is very hard to find the gate, and then follow the path to the front door (despite solar lights half way). Whilst it has its own bathroom, the shower is in a seperate room. No lock on bedroom door.
Review 5:Hosts were superb Location is Ideal for Dawlish Good Wifi.

Review 15:Viv and Tim made us very welcome on our arrival and throughout our stay. That also goes for Marmite and Scrumpy!!!. Really yummy breakfast each morning using local produce.and home made bread cooked by Tim.

Review 19:The very friendly and personal serice we received. We felt more like old friends than paying guests. Good food, a very homely atmosphere and lovely antique fittings in our room made for a lovely stay. Highly recommended
Review 20:Everything about the owners, and the property which was historically very interesting. The breakfast was so plentiful with locally sourced items. Ideal for a Summer break, but think it must be difficult to reach in adverse Winter conditions.
Review 21:A comfortable chair in room would be nice.

Review 59:A very warm welcome, lovely room with fab bathroom, pretty garden. Scrummy breakfasts too. Run by a lovely couple, with two fab dogs! Would stay again if in the area.
Review 60:A hanging rail for clothes and a chair would be useful. One of the bedside lamps too low down to read in bed comfortably.
Review 61:A very warm welcome, friendly, helpful, interesting hosts. The cooked breakfast excellent, and one person vegetarian which was no problem. Our room had a bath rather than the ubiquitous shower found in most B&Bs, but there was a shower along the corridor for those who prefer one. Pretty garden and quiet country location in a period property. Recommended!
