Reviews for The Wyvill Arms

Review 1:Arrived on Monday and at about 3pm, the pub was in darkness, it felt as though it wasn't open. Would have been more welcoming had the lights been on.

Review 2:Beautiful country pub, we had a very comfortable room and the breakfast was very good. Friendly staff

Review 3:Fabulous large room which is great with a dog. New rooms are wonderful and we would love to stay again very soon. The walk in shower is amazing. Excellent menu for dining and breakfast too. Even the children's portions were good.

Review 4:The hotel was in an ideal location for exploring the nearby area. We were welcomed with a log fire and an incredibly warm atmosphere and members of staff. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, spotless and very comfortable. We opted to have dinner at the restaurant; this was a great decision and we had three delicious courses. Breakfast the next morning was included in the accommodation price and we were very impressed. Fantastic overall stay

Review 5:Friendly atmosphere, clean, fresh and smart décor, cosy in all areas. Good food, high quality ingredients used . Enjoyable experience and would revisit.

Review 6:Nothing.

Review 7:Room very comfortable, warm on arrival but we were able to control the heating and open a window for fresh air. Ensuite was very modern and well stocked. Beautiful breakfast, everything which we could wish for being on offer. Plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits in the room. Our arrival in the evening was also accommodated.

Review 8:Warm and welcoming. We had a very spacious, well appointed room with a beautiful view over the Dales. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and far exceeded expectation.

Review 15:N/A

Review 16:Lovely place with friendly staff who are always ready to help. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was busy with locals on Saturday, which is always a good sign.

Review 17:Nothing

Review 18:Very clean, friendly - good food. Just what we wanted with my wife two twenty something sons and their girlfriends. Would certainly recommend it.

Review 19:A distance from places of interest so if you have a drink you need to stay around the hotel.

Review 20:The accommodation. Huge bed, great shower, spotlessly clean and no noise and a lovely garden.

Review 21:The only negative I can think of is that the outside of the pub could do with a 'freshen up'. The window paintwork and signage is looking tired and doesn't give a true first impression of the delights inside.

Review 22:My husband, 6yr old son and I stayed over for 1 night as we were visiting the Forbidden Corner. We were very impressed with the staff, who were extremely welcoming. We stayed in the family room which was very comfortable and spacious. The food was delightful and we would definitely choose to stay again if ever in the area.

Review 23:We had a very, very enjoyable break at The Wyvill Arms. The Staff were exceptional: the food was excellent; loved the venison steak. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Review 29:Location Warm welcome and great food. Very comfortable room Loved the gardens and planting!

Review 30:The exterior of the property did not do it justice and needs a little TLC. More tables and chairs could be provided on the rear patio area.

Review 42:My only minor criticism would be the lack of a children's menu for our evening meal, although the chicken pieces chips and peas that was prepared for them was beautiful.

Review 43:Spacious family room, excellent evening meal and breakfast. Chosen because it was local for visiting Leyburn and The Forbidden Corner.

Review 44:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 57:We stayed at The Wyvill for 1 night in January. It was quiet but was cosy with a log burner in the bar. Food was excellent it was difficult to decide what to have. Breakfast was equally as nice. Would recommend. Rooms comfortable.

Review 58:Breakfast adequate but we are used to B and Bs serving yoghourt, fruit, croissants, salmon, kippers etc... We also found the lack of unlimited juice and coffee a little mean. Also evening meal tasty but overpriced.

Review 59:Staff very friendly and attentive. Bedroom attractive with comfy bed, duvet and pillows. Pretty location.

Review 60:Perfect for us as a family. Felt completely comfortable about leaving our kids in the room upstairs asleep while we were wined and dined downstairs - no worries about the baby monitor working as they were directly above our heads! It was my daughters 10th birthday and the landlady decorated our table with banners and she had candles in her dessert to which everyone sang happy birthday! It made her day and was a wonderful gesture. I would definitely recommend the Wyvill Arms and hope to stay again in the future.

Review 69:PARENTS 50TH ANNIVERSARY - WHEN I BOOKED (WE HAD 3 OF THE 4 ROOMS. WE ASKED FOR A CERTAIN ROOM AS ALL WERE AVAILBLE) GOT THE ONE WE DIDNT WANT AND FOUND THE FOUR POSTER ROOM STRANGE!!!!!!!!!

Review 70:great breakfast excellent sunday lunch - best ever

Review 71:Loved the room with its four poster and elegant décor, felt like the lord of the manor for a night. Bed was comfortable and despite being by the roadside I had a completely undisturbed sleep. Staff were a delight, nothing seemed too much trouble. My wife and I had eaten a big meal earlier in the day, but fancied a light snack. Everything on the menu looked a little too substantial, but they assembled an assortment of cold meats an cheeses, with fresh salad and an assortment of pickles and accompaniments. It wasn't just food, it was a work of art and went well beyond the call of duty. A truly excellent experience... well done!

Review 72:From the original greeting when we checked in to checking out the whole experience at this establishment was wonderful. The food was excellent the rooms extremely comfortable

Review 73:Friendly owners and staff, wonderful food, very comfortable bedrooms and with Lisa's instant smile at breakfast and at the evening meal, a score of 10 out of 10 is deserved. We will return.

Review 76:Not as easy to find as expected. Overcharged for starter but hadn't checked so my fault too.

Review 79:staff were very helpful and friendly. food was top notch, proper Yorkshire portions not for the faint hearted, you could choose from an early menu if you wanted to eat before 7.00pm. There was constant hot water for the shower. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

Review 80:Lovely place, family room was ideal, breakfast was really nice, served hot and cooked just right. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place to others. You do have to go behind bar to get to rooms though.
