Reviews for The Old Vicarage
Review 1:Large bedroom and really comfy four poster bed. Excellent guest lounge with log fire and plenty of reading material. Breakfast very good with fresh fruit and yoghurts.
Review 2:Can only check in after 4 pm so had to while away an hour at the nearby pub. Sink not in ensuite but in bedroom .
Review 3:A spacious room with four poster bed and with views over the dale on two sides Ample car parking. Tea and cakes on arrival. Excellent choices at breakfast.
Review 4:NA
Review 5:Great location in Yorkshire. Good pub within walking distance. Helpful host with recommendations on what to see in the area. Very good breakfast.
Review 6:nothing
Review 7:everything. the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere large choice well cook and presented. the location is ideal for exploring the dales.
Review 8:Room was quite small, we had to take in turns to move about, have paid same price (£90 per night) in other Dales B&B and rooms are huge and pure luxury! Bed was a normal double not king, and was very soft so we rolled into each other all night. I tried over a week before our stay to cancel the second night after checking the terms and conditions of booking with Booking.com and the hotel refused to honour it stating this rule didn't apply to weekends??! My hubbie poured orange juice out at breakfast, and put the jug back in exact place he'd taken it from and the owner shouted at him from across the room to put it on a metal cold plate which was on the table, we were mortified at this, you don't expect to be 'told off' in your 60's!
Review 9:Location was fab, breakfast excellent, landlady kind and helpful. Very clean
Review 10:My wife and I were so impressed with our stay @ the old vicarage, thatwe would recommend it to anyone for a lovely stay. The hospitalitythat we received was of a high standard, by going out of their way tomake us so welcome. In fact, we both said we would go back there againand again.
Review 11:the size of the bedroom
Review 12:The convenience to the restaurant we wanted to go to, we could walk without having to drive at all. Very good English breakfast.
Review 13:The only criticism was the bedroom was very small with the hand basin in the bedroom instead of a proper ensuite facility.
Review 14:Easy access to all other areas
Review 15:Previous occupant's belongings in cupboard, water in a drawer (!), ring marks on shelves. My stuff was moved to a different place when room cleaned which meant it nearly got left behind. Don't be put off by these minor cleaning details, excellent place to stay.
Review 16:Four poster bed, double aspect amazing views, excellent breakfast, information on places to go from info in room and from owner, private parking, very quiet. Lovely owners.
Review 17:The only reason for the 2nd top opinion for the bed was that the duvet covers were a much higher tog than we are used to so found it rather warm. Visitors from abroad would have thought differently.
Review 18:We were welcomed warmley with a cup of tea and homemade cake. The house is beautiful and the breakfast amazing. Delighted that we've found this gem.
Review 19:we liked it all
Review 20:A warm welcome by our hosts,we really enjoyed our stay and hope to go again in 2015, nothing was to much trouble and the food was great. a lovely few days break. Thank you Barbara and Grant.
Review 21:Our room was rather small, would have been cramped if we had luggage for more than a week-end's stay.
Review 22:Friendlines of staff, excellent position for visiting the area and a breakfast to die for! They couldn't do enough for us and there was more of everything if you only asked. Wi-fi available in the lounge free of charge. Glad for the recommendation for the Wharfedale Heifer restaurant in the village; well worth a visit.
Review 23:The village of West Witton itself is not spectacular but still a good base.
Review 24:Four poster bed - great size. Owner was really helpful in returning several items of clothing I'd managed to leave behind. Very good recommendations for places to eat in the evening.
Review 25:Shower thermostat was erratic (room 4)

Review 30:The welcome was warm, the room was superb (four poster bed !) and the breakfast was a classic slelection but you have to go for the full english. Oh, and there's a 5-Star restaurant just up the street.

Review 32:Everything about this B and B was superb. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was second to none.
Review 33:The local pub's food was extremely disappointing which resulted in us having to travel by car for a meal in the evenings - nothing that the Old Vicarage owners can do about that but it did mar the overall enjoyment of the holiday.

Review 108:From the meet and greet by Barbara my wife and I knew we had come to a very special place. After being shown to our room we were then invited to the sitting room for cake and fresh tea to drink. We took Barbara's advice and had a beautiful meal at the Street End pub although you do need a car to get there. The next day we had a breakfast that was as good as any 5* place we have stayed in. It's a great place and I would recommend it to anyone, 10 out of ten for me.
