Reviews for Premier Inn Newmarket
Review 1:The car park was a bit awkward to reach as it was across a road. Not a major quibble unless you have mobility problems, as there was no lift in the car park and when you cross there are steep steps to the reception (the ramp is around the side and brings you to the hotel bar).
Review 2:Lots of space in the quadruple room. We had requested a quiet room and had been put in the quiet zone on floor 2. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly receptionist told my small son we could see racehorses exercising every morning from 7am on the field across from the hotel, so we went over and stroked a couple of noses next day.
Review 3:The parking arrangements are atrocious. There are not nearly enough bays (28) for the number of rooms you have (75). We returned to the hotel on two consecutive nights to find no slots available, parked ,for free in the next floor up, but had to go down at 0800 to move the car down to level 2 when a slot became available. Considering that our four night stay cost £294, this is just not good enough.
Review 4:Very comfortable bed in a clean room, what more could one ask of a hotel?
Review 5:One small point was that we were not able to access one of the designated parking places in the Guneas car park;but the receptionist advised us about extending our parking ticket, and the car park was so handy we could even see our car on the top level from our bedroom window!
Review 6:The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful;our bed was enormous and very comfortable;the location is excellent because it is central and easy to get to.
Review 7:The staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful, location was brilliant. couldn't really fault anything, we will probably book again next year.
Review 8:In our room 125 we couldn't open the window at night time because there were huge fans directly outside the window. I am a light sleeper and eventually got to sleep
Review 9:There central location for the event we were attending
Review 10:Had a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful with our circumstances...couldn't have done any more for us. Excellent service. Receptionist at Newmarke.
Review 11:Clean comfortable rooms. Bed along with the pillows are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Had a lovely view of the Heath, to watch the horses having their ride out.
Review 12:Great location just at the top of town, walking distance to bars and eateries - nice onsite bar and food facilities - excellent parking 2 minutes walk
Review 13:Bar closed when we got back from the races. Could stay open till midnight
Review 14:Breakfast was served and not a buffet but u could still have as much as u wanted
Review 15:When we arrived the receptionist was very flustered and didn't explain that there had been a problem with the room key cutter until she was in the lift escorting us to our rooms. She then explained that if we wanted to leave our room we'd have to ask her to let us back into our bedrooms! Not ideal. The breakfast was tasty but so slow. The hotel was fully booked but they hadnt staffed for feeding everyone for breakfast?! There was no phone in the room so to book a taxi I had to go down to reception to book it and then be escorted back to my room. The stairwell and corridor was dirty and needed hoovering. Parking was a nightmare. They don't have their own car park and the pay and display was full of shoppers. We had to wait 10mins for someone to finish loading their car and leave.
Review 16:It was a good location for what we needed. The bed was comfortable and there were spare pillows. The shower had a good pressure and the temperature stayed consistent.
Review 17:Tried to call the hotel direct the day before booking re: early check in. Noone answered the phone. Also tried the 0845 number and again no answer.
Review 18:Friendly staff, good food. Exactly as expected. The staff organised an early check in following a 10am phone call the morning of the booking, this was extremely helpful and much appreciated.
Review 19:Room was very hot and AC didn't go lower than 19, plus there wasn't a fridge.
Review 20:I had put in a special request upon booking for a photo of Nathan Fillion to be waiting in my room, as I do with all hotels I stay in. This was the first time that request has been filled. Needless to say, this made what would have been a regular hotel stay to something incredibly awesome.
Review 21:Noise from the air con outside of the restaurant,in one of the back bedrooms. Resulted in a very disturbed night.
Review 22:Efficient, polite and friendly service
Review 23:After 5 hour travel from Devon, daughters' room not ready until 4.30 pm !! Also, had arranged for daughters' to be next to us - were allocate done on a different floor. Staff said they could not re-arrange. Many arrivals were accepted after us - why could no room changes/ready be allocated? WiFi not available in morning - only log in possible pm.
Review 24:The bed
Review 25:We had a meal at night an spent £65 in restaurant had we known we could have had a free breakfast as advertised in room didn't notice till morning and room 101 outside door on landing kept banging in night kept waking us up
Review 26:Room
Review 27:The noise of the security door opening and shutting gives the impression of someone entering the room
Review 28:Conveniece of location for the wedding which was the purpose of our visit
Review 29:I stayed in room 124 which was very noisy with traffic noise and then on Saturday morning i was woken by lorry taking away bottles from the bar and then a Premier Inn lorry taking away what i thought was the laundry at 6am. Avoid this side of hotel if possible as right on top of a busy junction and insulation on window very poor
Review 30:I had more than my fair share of problems whilst i stayed at Newmarket Premier Inn...But the staff were brilliant in helping to sort things out.
Review 31:Had to pay extra for wifi if you want to stream movies as I had a young son this was a must...having said that it was only £5 for 24 hours.
Review 32:Nice staff during breakfast. Comfortable stay. Would use again.
Review 33:Parking can be a bit tricky but we had no problems using hôtels allocated parking
Review 34:Good value for money ......hotel fairly new and room was very high standard
Review 35:The fact it was a disabled room we thought it would have a wet room. It had a bath with a shower. Which my partner being disabled it is a bit difficult getting in and out by himself. It didn't spoil our stay though.
Review 36:it was a disabled room with plenty of room.
Review 37:the weather, :-)
Review 38:I have never stayed at a Premier Inn before and with the price quoted for my stay during the Christmas Holiday, I was NOT expecting much in any area, especially after seeing what other accommodations were charging. I was more than pleased with every aspect of the Inn. Extremely clean, helpful staff, food of above average quality. No complaints
Review 39:Roadworks all night on Friday night. I did get a full refund however that is not the point, my next day was ruined as I had no sleep the night before
Review 40:Staff were very good
Review 41:The room was disapoing
Review 42:I've previously stated with premure inn and it's becoming a regular thing this room on this scansion was extremily disappointing but the service is always good
Review 43:Breakfast finished at 10.30 ..
Review 44:Staff where all very nice and had food in the morning at the restaurant and food was good value for money and cooked well .. All round very happy for are news years stay and will be going back !!
Review 45:Had to take pain med every morning because of Bed !!
Review 46:everything but the bed. The beds at premier in London were good. Newmarkets were the worst ever.
Review 47:Car parking - not on site and its a real disadvantage, particularly if you are disabled like I am. There are a few steps up to the Premier Inn and you have to cross roads etc to get to the car park. Receptionist booking me in did not say there were several options re breakfast and automatically booked me into the most expensive option. I had my daughter with me who told me there are other, cheaper, and less filling options for breakfast - so she saved me some money.
Review 48:Friendly staff and good customer service. Good value for money. Would stay here again
Review 49:about the only thing we did not like was the parking. It felt very unsecure
Review 50:friendly staff and very clean corridors and bedrooms about all you would expect we were all very pleased
Review 51:The person I was travelling with had to move rooms because of the noise from the plant generator outside her window. This wasn't a problem, luckily there was another available room for her.
Review 52:Great location. Clean hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable. Good value for money.
Review 53:There was nothing to dislike - apart from getting the names incorrect inbooking it was Mrs Pam Edgington and Mrs Di Farmer - I ended up PamelaFarmer !!!
Review 54:I like everything about Newmarket, its my home town. I have stayed atthe Premier Inn on previous visits to see my family and have never hadcause to complain. On the contrary, Good value for money ... includingthe meals.
Review 55:Disappointing check in at reception. Member of staff could barely bring himself to speak. (This was also the same the next day) shame as a first impression on the front line does count.
Review 56:Great breakfast. Clean room
Review 57:The single beds were not made up and there was no bedding or towels. After a long journey I didn't like to have to ask for more bedding as I didn't want to make a fuss.
Review 58:The night staff made sure we had bedding we needed although they didn't bring any duvets and I didn't want to ask for more, but we were given a discount for all the inconvenience which we appreciated.
Review 59:When I arrived, I had had the worst day ever. The staff on the desk were cheerful and very helpful. They got me checked in without a fuss and even gave me a menu for a local takeaway as I wanted to eat something in my room. honestly I couldn't have asked for better care and attention. Thank you so much.
Review 60:Male member of staff had an attitude...could barely be bothered to say good morning and no interest in helping us with how to find our wedding venue.
Review 61:Thought the female staff were very helpful...
Review 62:Our initial room was a room for disabled, whilst this is an absolute must have, it was not suited to us as we are very fortunate to be able bodied, however there was no problem to move us to another room!
Review 63:Friendly staff, clean rooms and very central for us!
Review 64:All the staff I encountered on Sat 4th Oct 14 were excellent friendly and a credit to premier inn from reception, bar and the cleaners top staff well done
Review 65:The parking seemed very limited. We were lucky to get the last space available. I would think on race days this would be a major issue. Steps up to main door to reception and car park across the road, so bear this in mind if you have a lot of luggage.
Review 66:Easy to find, with Premier Inns you know exactly what you are going to get.
Review 67:For the single traveller this kind of hotel can feel a bit sterile. All rooms are charged at double rate, so its not a great deal. I requested a quiet room but was allocated a noisy one. There was no problem changing it though.
Review 68:Really helpful and friendly reception staff. Central location, good city hotel.
Review 69:Cooked Breakfast took far too long on the Friday morning, and some of the food was cold
Review 70:Very courteous staff; An excellent location; and has a good parking option now
Review 71:Staff were very welcoming , room was clean, spacious & everything was just perfect thank you .I would recommended premier Inn to anyone who thinking of going horseracing at newmarket, great location-thanks great few nights stay here
Review 72:Nothing
Review 73:The location was superb for the reason we visited Newmarket horses. The bedroom was big and roomy, staff very polite and helpful as we had got wet when it started to rain prior to arriving at the hotel and the receptionist immediately offered to get me a towel
Review 74:Noisy creaky stairs above level 1-also door to each level a bit noisy, no soft click.
Review 75:Location, friendly staff and restaurant on site. But staff were very helpful when someone got into my disabled Mother's room in the night.
Review 76:Nothing.
Review 77:Everything. The food was great, staff extremely helpful and friendly, management sorted out my problems with ease. I will definitely stay there again!
Review 78:the bed was very uncomfortable and not as described in tv advert
Review 79:very clean and adaquet facilities for a short stay. staff very friendly and helpful got money back for 1st nights stay
Review 80:Car parking is a disaster with nowhere near enough parking spaces allocated in a multi storey across the road.
Review 81:Good hotel as other Premier Inns - comfortable and quiet, good food, very reasonable price.
Review 82:Rooms were freezing, I asked for a blanket got another quilt but I was still cold all nite didn't sleep too well due to this.
Review 83:Location was good, staff were friendly.
Review 84:Parking is somewhat complicated for non-locals but we managed to work it out without getting locked in!
Review 85:Comfortable room and very friendly staff. Restaurant on site is good and reasonable value for a hotel
Review 86:an e-mail back saying no record of booking, phone call from PI asking why no show going to charge me £105.00 I explained, lady said she would ask manager to phone me and explain. reply "fine" you refunded the charge
Review 87:the web site should say,you can fit 3/4 adults[all family]in each room.we paid for 2 rooms when all we needed was ONE.also the tv was too small for the room.
Review 88:i had a large room, good size bathroom.
Review 89:The restaurant service is generally poor. There are a few staff that shine but generally the service from the majority of the waitresses/waiters is poor. The staff lack interest in what they are doing and do not monitor the breakfast buffet in the morning. Quite often they can be seen chatting with one an other when food/drinks needs topping up on the buffet. It often appears that the restaurant is under staffed. Parking is a nightmare if you arrive late as the hotel does not have enough allocated parking spaces in the adjacent shopping centre car park.
Review 90:Hotel reception staff are very friendly and courteous. Room are very clean and comfortable. Bar staff are very polite and proffesional
Review 91:Put in a disabled room with no bath! Really open and was disturbed at 8 am even with a sign on handle
Review 92:Good staff.. Very helpful and always helping at desk.
Review 93:Bit Expensive during Race Week. Maybe regular customers should get special offers/deals..??
Review 94:Quick Check-In, Room, Carpark Facility, Friendly Staff, Bar+Food and Location...
Review 95:There were some noisy kids who thought the halls were their personal playground for a few nights.
Review 96:Great wifi, but you had to pay for it. Good breakfast, but you had to pay for it. The staff was super nice. The air conditioning was great for my Hay Fever. Free parking.
Review 97:like that its central to everything in Newmarket and that if we are coming to the races you always have a room where we can get changed. also on this visit we had a lovely view of the Health. :)
Review 98:Thought breakfast was included, asked waitress if this was true, as she was seating us. She said yes it was, but we were billed for our meal front desk while checking out the next day. Think there was a misunderstanding. Parking is a nuisance.
Review 99:Location, cleanliness, size and simplicity of room. We had a double bed and two singles which was a very comfortable arrangement for us. Very good value for money.
Review 100:Tea and coffee facilities in the room aren't great. Not enough available
Review 101:Good location and friendly staff.
Review 102:1. No telephone in room 2. No minibar
