Reviews for Gresham House Inn

Review 1:Mix -up over breakfast provision . We had expected it to be available but it was not . Traffic noise .

Review 2:Not over fussy . We were not pestered by staff .

Review 3:none.

Review 4:Our third stay at the Gresham, and each time we have not been disappointed, friendly staff, clean rooms, big breakfast to set you up for the day, will visit again if health permits.

Review 5:No parking....but there is no way round that.

Review 6:We took my elderly parents for a three night break and the accommodation was perfect. Spotlessly clean. Everything thoughtfully arranged in the rooms. Landlord very accommodating. The barman charming and accommodating also.

Review 7:The stay was good, just what we needed. It was close to the town, but just set off the main streets. It was a friendly place, staff were great. The Full English breakfast was huge, a great start to the day. The room we had was a good size and quite comfy. Facilities were very good. Would like to stay again at a later date, and take our grand-daughter.

Review 8:I liked how we felt cared for-especially a nice little touch with leaflets in the room for local attractions, bus times, train times, taxi numbers-very thoughtful. Bottles of water were provided as well, which I thought was lovely.

Review 9:can't think of anything apart from not many channels on tv.

Review 10:good location for dawlish railway station a good big breakfast in morning and friendly staff.

Review 11:Slight slope to accomodation and stairs to room.not a problem to most but i have a walkin disability

Review 12:Great staff made you welcome.breakfast abfab.everything on the doorstep

Review 13:The car parked outside of the door on arrival, hard to get in with bags. Although wasn't there for rest of stay.

Review 14:Great hosts, lovely room, great breakfast.

Review 15:Would of liked my towels and bedding changed during my stay. Didn't know whether i had to ask specifically for this. Sure if I'd of asked it would of been sorted. That was my only quibble though.

Review 16:Great friendly staff. All that was needed for my short break on my own. Best price i could find on this site.

Review 17:Noise from the pub next door (though moderate), no allocated car park but plenty of spaces nearby.

Review 18:Everything else (not mentioned in 'dont like section)

Review 19:I don't know who to blame for this, so it is not a reflection on the hotel. At 1 am a dreadful noise started, which sounded like a band of drummers rehearsing. I was considering packing up and driving home, but it stopped after about 25 minutes. That kind of inconsiderate behaviour drives me mad.

Review 20:Although the outside looks unappealing, the room itself was really nice. Very clean, in good condition, with two armchairs, TV, DVD, bathroom, wardrobe, bedside tables and a very comfortable double bed. Oh, and tea and coffee making, radio, free Wi-Fi (free Wi-Fi!!!) I was given a very warm welcome from the boss, who showed me to my room straight away and was very friendly

Review 21:A very friendly place, excellent breakfast, and perfect accommodation, the bar downstairs was an added bonus to spend the evening in good company, a top rate place to stay.

Review 22:Only problem was no parking and dawlsh in itself has limited parking .

Review 23:Staff were freindly and sited near to the main town so everything within walking distance .the room was of a high quality and very clean both myself and my wife enjoyed our stay and would highly recomend this inn .

Review 24:The only little problem we had was the loud music from the pub underneath carried on until about midnight - not a huge problem and understandable giving the location of the rooms, but did make it difficult to get an early night.

Review 25:The room and bathroom were spotless and uncluttered, with a nice big comfortable bed. The staff were all lovely and friendly, and in the mornings we got a nice cooked breakfast - also grateful for the landlady waking up to make us breakfast at 730am as we had to be out early one morning!

Review 26:Nothing to dislike.

Review 27:Our hosts were excellent, the food was plentiful, the room was spotless, bed was comfy, in all it is an ideal place to stay, close to shops/beach/station and parks. We certainly will return.

Review 28:firstly Dave and Jacky could not have been more welcoming or friendly. The room was spacious and well appointed with a large and extremely comfortable bed. Plenty of large very clean and fluffy towels. The room also had a ceiling fan which was a bonus in the warm weather. As to the headline I called it a slimmers breakfast because it was so substantial, and tasty, you didn't need to eat until the evening. I short a lovely stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Review 29:Wifi wasn't working after the first day. The owners did their best to fix it for us but needed an engineer.

Review 30:Nice spacious room, good shower and very clean. Breakfast very tasty and owners were very pleasent. Also fantastic location very close to sea front and town center.

Review 31:Did not include breakfast but there are plenty of excellent cafes near by.

Review 32:Great location in the town, close to the station and the beach. There is a pub below but we did not hear any noise and separate door to the rooms so you don't have to go through the pub.

Review 33:I was travelling by train in Devon & Cornwall. Gresham House is a one minute walk from the station. B&B has its own entrance - not through the bar. Good bar facilities. Good breakfast. Landlady, Jackie, was friendly and helpful. The beach is just across the road and plenty of places to eat in the evening. Dawlish is a very pretty place.

Review 34:good location decent choice off beers .good group on in the bar on saturdy

Review 35:It was in a good location, close to the facilities. The room was comfortable and clean and staff helpful and friendly.

Review 36:only down fall no parking

Review 37:freindly welcome and nice big breakdast

Review 38:Really friendly welcome, and as long as your happy with a room above a pub, it's perfect!

Review 39:nothing

Review 40:everything

Review 41:Close to all amenities, friendly staff, clean comfortable bedroom, real ale, huge breakfast.

Review 42:N/A

Review 43:Great friendly welcoming staff Great rooms Good value for money

Review 44:Close to everything, with a warm, friendly welcome!

Review 45:The owners are really lovely they made me feel welcome. Rooms are lovely and clean and its a good location. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 46:Parking difficult.

Review 47:Base for exploring the Southern Coast. Trip to Dartmouth, steam train and ferry. Dalwish is a nice little town.

Review 48:No parking and building in a very run down condition

Review 49:Room was large and the staff friendly

Review 50:Being a mature couple, some difficulty with the incline of the location.

Review 51:It is all in my review

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:Nice friendly couple own it and is excellently located

Review 54:Friendly welcoming hosts , very good for local information ,didnt really notice much sound from the pub underneath

Review 55:Room recently refurbished, central location, good value and very friendly owners. Decent breakfast and the beer was good too!

Review 56:Very comfy bed, clean and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Review 57:The real ales on offer, the friendliness of staff and locals.lovely breakfast.good basic clean accommodation.dont go on first impressions.

Review 58:Difficult location to park close to.

Review 59:Friendly and caring staff and locals.

Review 60:I couldn't fault anything.

Review 61:Easy access to Gresham House from where I parked the car and had a warm welcome.

Review 62:Nothing bad to say

Review 63:Great customer service, very welcoming and just as good as the leading hotel/b&b chains

Review 64:Parking facility's .

Review 65:The beautiful bedroom and freedom to come and go. The location was another pluss.

Review 66:We liked everything

Review 67:Landlady provided a very good Gluten Free breakfast

Review 68:all of our stay was lush, the hotel, the staff, the food, you have to eat at jack sprats, you may have to book, def go back,

Review 69:Location was good, the owners were very friendly and welcoming would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel

Review 70:The busy roads - traffic could be heavy at certain times of the day. The room didn't have much of a view, but it wasn't really a problem as I wasn't in much during the day. Not very many good restaurants in Dawlish, but a lot of tea rooms and they're only open during the day.

Review 71:The staff were very friendly, in fact I found most of the local people were very helpful and went out of their way to promote their town. The owners Dave and Jackie were such lovely people and look after their guests really well. The bed and pillows in the room were comfortable and the room itself was fairly big. The full English breakfast was a treat. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the small pub below the apartment and the locals who drank there chatted away. I enjoyed my 5 day break in Dawlish very much and I would go back.

Review 72:No parking although I was able to park in the main street until 9am the following morning. The Outward appearance is that of a pub & could put some casual people off. I was less that pleased to be told that my original attempt to book with breakfast included was no longer available but I could book the same room, same price but no food. This was blatantly untrue as I was the only person staying there but I feel this might be Booking.com fault and not Gresham House. Could be wrong but whichever, it is not a nice switch.

Review 73:The bedroom and bathroom appeared to be new. The king size bed was comfortable with bedside light and alarm clock. Good tea and coffee availability with sparkling and still bottled water plus wrapped biscuits. The bathroom was excellently tiled both floor and wall and very clean. They couldn't be faulted.

Review 74:A good basic pub bed and breakfast. If you're looking for anything fancy this won't suit you but if you want a really central position in Dawlish and friendly and welcoming service this is it. We only stayed one night but the bed was comfy and the shower was clean and hot. We stayed in the double room and next time we would pay the extra and stay in the newly refurbished king sized room.

Review 75:nothing, just good value.

Review 76:ideal location for train station and buses, lovely clean room, host very friendly and helpful, good breakfast,Wi-Fi good, and plenty of tea and coffee facilities all very nice.

Review 77:The pub, which is where we had breakfast, could do with being renovated, so it matches the standard of the room.

Review 78:We could not fault anything with the room, which was really spacious. Everything looked new and the bed was lovely and comfortable. The owner was great and even lent us an umbrella when it was raining.

Review 79:Really lovely welcome. Room fantastic, new furniture. Spotless. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast in the morning. Owner really lovely. Nothing too much trouble, rooms are next door to pub, not a problem, quiet night. Highly recommend

Review 80:suggest a blackout blind on main street window, sodium street lamp was full on in window all night. Water supply noise in bathroom needs attention.

Review 81:EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE! Host and hostess, crowd, room, separate access to accommodation. Everyone I met was friendly, welcoming and charming. Really felt at home. Breakfast stunning!

Review 82:Parking could be an issue when busy.

Review 83:The staff were great and the rooms comfortable and value for money. The wi fi was very good which is important for work and breakfast good also.

Review 84:I have no complaints. Being the age I am, however I would have preferred a safety bar to cling on to in the shower.

Review 85:Mr Montgomery and his wife did everything humanly possible to make my stay as pleasant as could be. They were delightful people, and nothing was too much trouble for them. I slept better in the bed there than I do at home.

Review 86:Road noise could disturb light sleepers

Review 87:Friendly staff & service Separate entrance to accommodation Excellent breakfast and at times to suit you the guest

Review 88:For a pub it was an extremely well furbished and spacious room with all facilities. A very friendly atmosphere but remember it is a pub in a central location. Even so we found it quiet and enjoyed the ambiance in the bar. The breakfast is as big or as small as you want and cooked to order. A pleasant find.

Review 89:Absolutly nothing

Review 90:We had an excellent stay at Greshamm House. The staff were extreamly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Ideal location. Room was excellent. Owner was brilliant locals were brilliant. Excellent value for money. Small things.like not minding brininging in your own food and providing plates ect. As someone who spends a lot of the time in hotels could not find a single fault

Review 91:The pub was noisey if you wanted an early night.

Review 92:The room and all its decor was a very pleasant suprise, the pub and the entrance made us expect a basic room but it was fantastic, clean, spacious and our every whim was met.Jacky and her husband very friendly and provided an amazing breakfast.Excellent value for the money.

Review 93:nothing.

Review 94:The pub/guesthouse is very central and two minutes from the seaside and town centre. It would be a good as a base for touring the area and surrounding towns ,if staying longer than 1 night. The room we had was clean and recently refurbished with new bathroom/shower facilities and ceiling fan.The owners make you feel very welcome.Breakfast was good.Good luck to Dave and his wife for the future.

Review 95:closeness to the beach ,cafes etc.

Review 96:Lack of ease with parking

Review 97:Good size clean room. Excellent breakfast and Dave a very good host.

Review 106:the room, staff and breakfast were all fantastic - thanks
