Reviews for Kriti Hotel
Review 1:The room seemed small, and the beds were okay but comfortable enough.
Review 2:Modern hotel, great breakfast, and quick walk to the harbor. It was nice that it wasn't on the harbor, so it was quiet where we stayed.
Review 3:We had some problems with the booking and accidently had two bookings. The hotel lobby wabted us to pay for both of the bookings. But we contacted booking.com so everything was fine in the end!
Review 4:Everything was great and all the staff was very nice. Breakfast is very good. The rooms were cleaned very well, they even folded our clothes while we were out!
Review 5:None
Review 6:Beautiful friendly hotel perfectly located near the harbour.Breakfast was always fresh and stayed open til midday which meant we could have lie ins! Lovely hotel
Review 7:The addition of tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be an added bonus.
Review 8:The location was perfect, just far enough away from the masses and 10 minutes walk in either direction to get to the center. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always ready to answer questions to make the most of our stay. More than enough variety for breakfast and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Would definitely use the Kriti next time in Chania.
Review 9:The room was a little on the small side, and the road was a little shabby
Review 10:Excellent breakfast buffet, rooms spotlessly clean, good quality towels and toiletries
Review 11:The hotel is brand new, the rooms were large and everything was super clean The staff was very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was great! The area was quiet and only slightly off the city centre (5-10 minutes on foot) The wifi worked very well (important for us, since we were visiting to attend a conference)
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Everybody was very kind, nice and helpful. Especially the lady named Slvia. She is really great!! Breakfast is really nice and enough for a small hotel. Also location is perfect. 5 min walking distance to the center.
Review 14:-
Review 15:Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were very clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast as well. Location was perfect as only a few minutes walk from the harbour.
Review 16:It was a very clean, modern hotel with helpful, friendly staff about 2 blocks from the waterfront- the Old Venetian Port. THey even gave us complimentary Raki.
Review 17:Nothing! But beach lovers would be better off at the other side of town - the Kriti is a good 20 to 30 minutes walk from anything resembling a beach.
Review 18:Didn't realise it was so close to the seafront, bars & restaurants of Koum Kapi - less than 100 metres. Also easy walk to old harbour. The late breakfast was a bonus & staff kept the buffet well stocked with fresh food throughout the period.
Review 19:The room amenities lacked slippers
Review 20:Good location- just outside the crowded centre. Clean and modern rooms with very comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. We would definitely visit again
Review 21:Really nice modern hotel, great breakfast, clean rooms, small gym, good wifi and very kind staff. 10 minutes walk to the old centre of Chania and 2 minutes walk to the water (where you can go in the water, however it is not a beach)
Review 22:Location was very convenient - close to both the harbour and the city center. It's also close to an open stage where you can hear some lovely concert music from the balcony! Room was clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was working just fine. Air conditioning was placed very smartly a bit away from the bed so it was cool but not freezing. Bathroom was a bit small, but still comfy. A pieace of advise, additional dryer rack in the bathroom would really make the comfort full. Breakfast was delicious esp the croissants and the freshly squeezed orange juice! Lovely pool! Clean and spacious. Hotel provides fresh towels every day. Staff was really nice and helpful!
Review 23:The hotel is just outside the old center of town, so convenient both for looking around and to the bus station - easy walking distance. It also is in a position to have a little more space - room for a pool, and also be quieter than hotels in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
Review 24:Second time in Chania. The hotel is situated just few steps away from the market and the port (main area). Modern rooms, excellent breakfast (location/food) and a nice pool surrounded by elegant sunbeds. Internet access available with a printer; useful if you need to print your boarding pass. All employees really kind and available for any need.
Review 25:Parking could be difficult if you arrived back after 9pm in the evening.
Review 26:The hotel was in a good location for the facilities of the town of Chania. The levels of cleanliness were excellent. The staff were simply amazing!
Review 27:It's not that I didn't like anything but if they fixed these I think they'd get a 10/10 rating. I'd say they'd need more variety at breakfast and if they extended their lunch and dinner options they'd have more people eating at the hotel. I think a kettle and basic coffee facilities in the rooms would also be great.
Review 28:The hotel is brilliant in the most brilliant location if you want to experience Chania as a whole. The staff are extremely friendly and always there to assist. All staff have been hand picked for sure from reception, kitchen to cleaning staff. They're all just fabulous.
Review 29:Room safe not big enough for laptop.
Review 30:Great location - easy to walk everywhere. Very comfortable room and amazing breakfast - fresh squeezed orange juice and good choices.
Review 31:The rooms were perhaps a bit small for what I expected, but overall the facilities were excellent, room service was up to par as well.
Review 32:The location was amazing as it allowed for access to the Old Town as well as the commercial district. The staff was wonderful, very eager to help and advise and very knowledgeable.
Review 33:We requested an upper floor room and quiet but we got a room facing to the road on the first floor . In the night opposite the hotel playing music from 6.30 to 12.30 if you wanted to rest or sleep between these hours not possible . they offered a change but was a worst room and a double bed ( we wanted 2 singles )
Review 34:Clean Room - polite staff
Review 35:The only and very minor thing I can say that I was looking for or needed and didn't have, was an iron. It's difficult to keep clothes non wrinkly when traveling out of a carryon. Perhaps they had one if I had asked but it want that big of a deal, just chose a different outfit.
Review 36:The hotel staff were very nice. Late check in (after midnight due to bus problems) was no problem. Room, while small, was perfect. There was plenty of counter space everywhere, which I appreciated especially in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, wifi worked great, A/C was also very nice. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise. We are used to the standard European breakfast and this was above and beyond compared to those standards. The orange juice press machine was obviously our favorite. They had a slight variation on the eggs each morning otherwise the same thing was offered, which was fine by us but I have seen many complaints about this for some reason. It's easy to chage up what you put on your own plate each morning especially when there are so many choices- multiple cereals, fruits, jams, large variety of breads, sweet breads, boiled eggs, scrambled, bacon/ham, sausage ect. The breakfast was excellent if you ask us expect ally for the inexpensive price of the hotel. We would stay here again!
Review 37:Walking distance to the old town, brand new rooms, friendly and discrete staff, pleasant environment. Nicely priced for the overall service and quality. This place is highly recommended.
Review 38:None.
Review 39:friendliness and professionalism of all staff (especially Ms Argyro and Ms Gina), great room design and hotel facilities, excellent breakfast, exceptional services
Review 40:Some rooms do not have balcony, so it can be difficult to dry towels after beach Lack of fruits for breakfast (only apples, oranges and kiwis, but no seasonal fruits)
Review 41:Very friendly and hospitable staff, always ready to help Nice clean rooms Fresh orange juice for breakfast
Review 42:i paid a room with a city view, but room 117 , first floor, had half wall-half sky view. i paid even though i was alone a twin room so it was bigger but the distance between the beds and the wall made me injure my leg.(about 50 cm).
Review 43:Small rooms
Review 44:Perfect location, good internet connection, lovely breakfast, very welcoming staff, nice pool, very comfortable bed, a lot of parking lots ... Perfect and just what i was looking for
Review 45:Though they have invested in improving the Wifi, it is OK for email and browsing but still not ideal for someone who wants to do work (web conferencing, VoIP).
Review 46:Modern, recently renovated, very polite staff, swimming pool, breakfast till noon, bar, ample lobby space, value for money, free parking (not managed by the hotel), no street noise even on the 1st floor. Within walking distance of the Old Harbor. Let's just stay that after staying at this hotel I chose it to host the visitors to my wedding.
Review 47:Fitness room available, but little equipment.
Review 48:Room had all necessary equipment ( clean bathroom, airco, safe, fridge, free wifi) and of course a bottel of raki. Nice swimming pool, good breakfast, business facilities and kind service.
Review 49:The constant traffic noise day And night. Not enough sun-beds, guests putting towels on them early in the morning and not using them for an hour or so!
Review 50:Lovely hotel, nice bedrooms very modern and good furnishings.
Review 51:Crete is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. The people were friendly and helpful and made our stay very welcoming and enjoyable. Hotel Kriti was a wonderful place with a location relatively close to the main downtown area of Chania.
Maukas aamupala kuului hintaan. Ihanan rauhallista ja puhdasta, sekä ystävällistä palvelua.
Review 54:We could find nothing negative about this hotel!
Review 55:We stayed here at the beginning and end of our two week tour of Crete and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation! It is a well located modern city centre hotel, very handy for the old town and the harbour. It has nicely renovated clean rooms with a decent shower. The staff are lovely and helfpul and the breakfast was excellent. There was a sheltered swimming pool at the hotel and some handy mini markets close at hand.
Review 56:Room was a good size and very clean, staff friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the harbour and old town which I think is preferable to staying within the old town, particularly if you have a car. Nice swimming pool.
Review 57:Nothing - everything great
Review 58:Even better following a full refurbishment. Very comfortable - great buffet breakfast - helpful staff - top quality facilities
Review 59:The location is convenient for those with cars (esp for parking) but not located in the heart of the Old Town, which means a 5-10 minute walk. Not a problem but worth noting.
Review 60:Easy parking, great breakfast and updated interiors - definitely recommended for travelers.
Review 61:Booked and Paid for Superior Sea view room but was put in a back room without any offer of reduction, after complaining was put in a Sea view room but with single beds not queen as ordered, was told builders were in and did not have enough rooms? why take booking???? Breakfast average
Review 62:Excellent Refurb, Rooms,Beds,Showers, all first class,
Review 63:The pool was my main reason for choosing this hotel (first visit to Chania) and very disappointing to find it closed, despite return of warm, sunny weather. They should make this (apparently regular) winter closure clear on their info.
Review 64:Location, convenient for old town, port and Koum Kapi beach - sea still lovely in early November. V good breakfast and no rush. 'City view' from south-facing balcony and high mountains beyond. (Stadium not so beautiful!)
Review 65:The hotel is classy and clean and just modern enough without being too fussy. It's right near the water, about a 3 mins walk and your by the shore with lots of cafes etc. also very close to a major street which made driving/walking there from the centre easy.
Review 66:No drawers in room. poor lighting near mirror & mirror too high when sitting. No sun on front(sea view) balcony.
Review 67:Excellent recent refurbishment, nice & new. Swimming pool & comfortable sunbeds. Breakfast.
Review 68:The whole night some noise (from aircondition/water..i dont know) was bothering us and we woke up a lot because of this.
Review 69:Friendly welcome, clean room, good beds & nice breakfast
Review 70:Only one small annoyance, the shower was leaking and we had water on the floor in the bathroom. The hotel has a pool which I didn't try, there was a faint odd smell there.
Review 71:I loved this hotel and my partner congratulated me for finding it!It was super clean, newly refurbished, double-glazed and quiet at night, with black-out curtains to sleep in the day, and the breakfast was served until 11am. Ticked all my boxes! They were kind enough to let me change my booking dates, when Expedia didn't allow me to.Locationis great, three minutes from outdoor terraces by the sea, we landed at 11pm at night and found a place to eat by the sea straight away. It's five minutes walk from the old harbour and the nice terrace restaurants there, and the beautiful cobbled streets with flowers and live music.Recommended restaurants:Glossitses, Akrogiali, To Xani. Also recomended but we dind't get there: The Well of the Turk. All restaurants give you a free desert and a small bottle of raki at the end, so don't order deserts or spirits at the end, and keep some room for it.To avoid: Antigone, the first one as you arrive at the harbour. In the old town, better stay away from Semiramis.Rule of thumb from taxi driver: if it's full, go there. If not, avoid.BeachYou can go to a small nearby beach, five minutes' walk, there is a changing room and a couple of showers, enough to relax. There are bigger beaches with chaise-longues elsewhere (do go to Nea Chora beach early in your trip and to Akrogiali restaurant there, you may get hooked), but you can have a good swim and tan just close to the hotel, on a sandy beach. The hotel has a pool which I didn't try, there was a faint odd smell there.Transport:EUR 22 for taxi to/from Chaina airport, or for Heraklion get the public bus as it's 2-3h drive. To walk around the town it's all close and small, so easy to navigate.Receptionwas always helpful and kind, spoke good English, and sorted us out with anything we needed, even cleaning the room at 4pm after we slept all day, and printing boarding passes.Breakfastwas great, worth waking up for (at 10.30am :).
Review 72:Not enough loungers at the pool. Breakfast could have been better
Review 73:Location was just outside the city walls and a short walk to the town and ocean. Parking outside the hotel was not a problem.
Review 74:Great location. 2 minutes from Koum Kapi which has less tourists. There is a little beach that has a little changing 'room' , Its lovely to swim. There are a row of cafes along the seafront. I would highly recommend a visit to Kafe Kouti. I would stay there again. Really modern place and nice beds!
Review 75:We really had a great time in this hotel.Hotel is extremly clean, everyhing in the room and in the bathroom is new.Our room was little,it's only thing that I could point as not excellent.Everything else was very good.Location is good, close to Old Vention port and also to city centar. Breakfast is great, staff is very kind.
Review 76:Small room and veranda Small pool area No green plants on the territory of the hotel No spa or other beauty care facilitites
Review 77:Cleanliness Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable bed Choice of ceiling fan and AC Good location - 10 min walk from the centre Free Wi-Fi
Review 78:Breakfast situation is a little inefficient. There is one jug of hot water if you wish to have tea; this needs to be constantly topped up by a busy kitchen worker. It would be helpful to have a boiling water machine such as is provided for the coffee drinkers, or an urn. Also, they have one toaster (jammed some of the time) One or two rolling toaster machines would be helpful! The buffet area needs to be extended; it is rather cramped at busy times. The decor at Kriti is fresh but very plain and could do with a bit of colour! The room was abit cramped in parts (eg opening the bathroom door and opening the wardrobe door caused a "clash". Due to the modern style, there are no drawers, just open boxed shelves. Sometimes you like to put things away.
Review 79:Location good, a short stroll to the old port, free parking nearby, staff efficient and helpful, view of ancient wall, theatre and side sea view, very comfortable beds, clean, modern bathroom, nice sliding doors on the shower, efficient air con. and wonderful ceiling fan!
Review 80:The only disappointment was we were a family of 3 and the large room did not have a balcony to layout wet clothes after a day at the beach.
Review 81:Clean rooms, crisp sheets great staff. In 2014 the hotel had a major redo and is very modern and stylish. Rooms were great! Breakfast was awesome especially the fresh orange juice machine. I would definetly stay again.
Review 82:Very clean hotel, excellent and kind staff, value for money. very good WiFi signal everywhere in the hotel, near to the old city, 5 minutes on foot. there are taxis and buses near the hotel. it worth more than 3 stars!! everything was excellent.
Review 83:Room could be bigger. A bit noisy in the morning (as we usually slept until 11:00).
Review 84:Recently rennovated to a high standard. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Amazingly helpful staff. Fresh fruits and fresh orange juice for breakfast. Reception was very helpful with tourist information, helping us get around and acomadating all our requests.
Review 85:No connecting rooms with the children, although this was specificallyrequested at reservation. The airconditioning system took a really longtime to cool down the room. Renovation still needs that last touch:brief loss of power in our room - twice; room numbers are not yetproperly attached to doors; the shower in the children's bathroomstill missed doors or a shower curtain.
Review 86:The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The renovation competed inJuly 2014 looks fantastic. Loved the ankle deep carpet in the hallways.Breakfast by the pool is excellent. Loads of free parking near thehotel. The old city and the waterfront restaurants and bars are justround the corner.
Review 87:The staff were very polite and friendly especially the reception. The hotel was recently refurbished and has more facilities than what you expect for a 3 star hotel. It could be easily a 4 star hotel.
Review 88:Renovation looked great, but cost cutting measures and inattention to detail detracted. Shower door leaked badly, and shower head is fixed at a bad angle. Instruction for room safe were useless; no wastebasket or drawers in room. No handle to close the balcony door from the outside.
Review 89:Helpful staff; great location in easy walking distance to old town and harbor and beach; 4th floor balcony had superb sea views; pool was very nice; breakfast until 11AM everyday was exceptional. Room was clean and very comfortable.
Review 90:We had our laundry done by the hotel but it was mixed up by the laundry mat and we had to sort through ours and other guests clothes from the hotel which we didn't mind because they didn't charge us. It was only after we left we realized 6 pieces of clothing were missing. When calling the hotel twice, they never returned one phone call to follow up on where our clothes were. The cleaners also broke a pair of sunglasses and just put them back on the desk in the room like nothing happened. The breakfast staff weren't that friendly either, would rather Porto Veneziano any day.
Review 91:1.The pool is small and thw maximum height is 1.30. 2.The breakfast wasnt include a variety of foods.
Review 92:1.very good service 2.near to Venetian Harbour
Review 93:There is no room service. Unfortunately, our flight arrived late at night and not possible to order snacks anymore. But were lucky to get a pizza delivery given by the lady at the kiosk :) Drinks at the bar is a bit expensive, i think
Review 94:New hotel thus facilities are very good. Parking in the area is ok. Hotel is very clean everywhere. We opt in to stay late and skip breakfast as we were tired travelling but lady at the breakfast gave my husband a plates of croissants and sweet pastry for our toddler and fresh juice!
Review 95:1. loud rock concert in front of the hotel until mid night 2. my first room did not have a shower head (I was the first guest after renovation and I got a new room immediately, but I still think that cleaning personal should spot that) 3. I booked a double room for single person use, but my first room was a quite small single room (not really a problem, but still). Similarly, the minibar of the room description was not available in the rooms I had. 4. I booked the hotel because of its central location and the pool, but it turned out that the hotel is not suuuuper-central (but still decently central, 10 minutes walk from central bus station) and that the pool is not available after 8 pm (which I can understand with respect to the other guests, but still I was slightly disappointed)
Review 96:1. staff was friendly and helpful 2. modern design 3. fan in room 4. decent wifi (but you have to explicitly ask for it) 5. there is a cool orange juice machine in the breakfast room which is kind of fun to use
Review 97:Very modern and well maintained facility, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, totally non-smoking, and very quiet for a city location
Review 98:Everything was perfect..and when they knew we are honeymooners they upgraded our room for free Location is perfect
Review 99:nothing
Review 100:we love this hotel. It is comfortable, modern, and clean, with very helpful staff and fabulous breakfast included.
Review 101:Nothing at all
Review 102:Location, breakfast, staff
Review 103:Very clean, friendly staff, well located.
Review 104:Location
Review 105:Needed more space in room
Review 106:The breakfast
Review 107:Blanket for the bed is a bit thin.
Review 108:Breakfast & Swimming pool
Review 109:Not applicable
Review 110:Everything! Well organised and perfectly renovated hotel with excellent facilities and very close to the old city of Chania.
Review 111:tv reception not good
Review 112:closeness to harbour area
Review 113:Very small room
Review 114:Location and friendly staff
Review 115:Liked it all.
Review 116:Very clean and new, modern look. Awesome location...walking distance to Old Venetian Harbor and tons of cafes and restaurants.
Review 117:Nice staff, great breakfast. It should be considered a four star hotel.
Review 118:Convenient location, high quality service and facilities, friendly staff, very nice buffet breakfast. Totally recommend it!
Review 119:everything just excellent
Review 120:They ran out of towels frequently, but they would always have a solution :-)
Review 121:I loved the location and the pool
Review 122:Wonderful sea view from room.
Review 123:all good
Review 124:very nice hotel and very comfortable beds. Great reception people both at night and day time
Review 125:Rooms are very small
Review 126:Clean and comfortable
