Reviews for Casa Delfino Hotel & Spa
Review 1:Shower leaked pretty bad onto bathroom floor. Taxi cabs cannot drop you off at door so the first time can be a little challenging to find but people are so friendly so asking for directions was not big deal.
Review 2:Staff was very helpful. Overall very nice accommodations in beautiful part of Old Chania Town. Was able to make last second reservations without any hassle or problem and staff was ready for us when we arrived
Review 3:We were not informed the rooftop would be closed during " winter ". The weather was hot for northern europeans. around 22 degrees and sunny.
Review 4:All the staff were very friendly and helpful,
Review 5:We have stayed in this hotel on several ocassions. The hotel is situated in the old town and access is on foot for the last few hundred metres, however by phoning the hotel they will send a motor buggy to collect you and your luggage from wherever you park. Turn down Pireos off Skalidi which is a one way right down to the sea front and I have always managed to park for free. Room and hotel were perfect with great A/C, fridge, sea view etc. Room size along with double bed were large. Breakfast excellent. Modern refurbishment inside an historic building. I felt that it was good value for money.
Review 6:Everything was amazing! The friendly staff, the location, the suite... Breakfast included everything one could ask for. We were very pleased and we' ll certainly recommend it!
Review 7:Amazing location right in old town Chania, steps from the port. Gorgeous, historic buildings with beautifully furnished rooms. Breakfast was homemade using produce from the owners' gardens. The staff went out of their way to be hospitable and helpful - from helping us find parking, to making our dinner reservations at excellent restaurants, to helping us plan our day trips. We loved our stay and wished it could have been longer.
Review 8:Beautiful, clean suite in the heart of old town. Staff was friendly and helpful; helped us plan logistics for getting to the gorge and beaches, all their restaurant recommendations were spot on (great food, not touristy), and they even lent us one of their bottle openers when we needed one for a beach excursion. Chania and this hotel were both wonderful experiences, and we would definitely stay here again.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:This lovely hotel was situated within an easy walk of the cafes, shops etc. the staff all were so good, so helpful. So friendly. Their English was perfect. I hope to return soon
Review 11:Air conditioning was positioned to blow directly onto the bed area, which was a poor design feature.
Review 12:A charming property, with pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 13:Breakfast area is really tiny.
Review 14:Everything! The hotel is so great! Very new, clean, with the great hospitality! Location is perfect, it's just in the center of the old town in Chania. We very so happy over there! The staff is really helpful, even it was a high season they were so kindly to arrange an automatic car for us. Hope to come to Casa Delfino again! Totally value for money!
Review 15:Excellent and helpful staff, went above and beyond to help organize day trips, dinner reservations etc. Christina, Maria, and vasia were gems and very pleasant working with. Would def stay here again.
Review 16:the only thing it lacks is a pool
Review 17:I LOVED this hotel. It was my favourite one on crete. I definitely would like to go back. The breakfast, the kind staff/level of service, and rooms. I was so pleasantly surprised by how nice the local beaches were just 30 minutes away (near the airport). Elafonisi, etc are definitely worth the trip, but it was nice to also just take it easy and not have to drive too much!
Review 18:Staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Location is great and the building itself is beautiful. Breakfast was superb, but seating arrangements were a little cramped.
Review 19:Not sure about the star rating....It was a lovely B and B. The breakfast was incredibly confusing in terms of its layout. The bed was far to soft for a comfortable nights sleep. Also having two staff standing by the breakfast items was over kill....Especially as you are expected to prepare and fetch your own coffee! Overpriced for what it is - I will be staying elsewhere next time!
Review 20:Fab location. Close to the harbour. Quiet.
Review 21:Our room was a tad small, but I think that was because we booked last minute/went for the cheapest rate.
Review 22:Absolutely beautiful hotel, tucked away in the best part of town, truly phenomenal home made breakfast. Great service too - they welcomed us with a handmarked map of restaurants around town (really good recommendations), helped us with advice and bookings, and even made sure we get breakfast at 4:00am before our flight
Review 23:Our stay was too short!!!
Review 24:The room was gorgeous and styled to the period The breakfast was homemade The staff were exceptional Wine in the spa on the roof at sunset is a must
Review 25:No view from our room but understandable with how the building is designed.
Review 26:The shops here are beautiful. This Hotel is in a beautiful old building which has a superb view on the rooftop terrace set inside the old town but easy to access if coming by car.
Review 27:Suite 7 had no external windows and had 4 extractor fans working day and night. The noise from these at night prevented a good nights sleep.
Review 28:We were moved to suite 4 which was quiet and much to our liking.
Review 29:Breakfast was not well organised, and less choice than our other hotels . Tables not set or cleared quickly. We had a split level apartment, bed upstairs but bathroom downstairs, check to see if this is what you prefer, one level would have worked better for us. Hotel hard to find, check directions well, especially if traveling by car, have to park and walk to hotel Lovely roof top bar but would have been nice to have drinks served up there rather than us carrying them from bar.
Review 30:Tranquil setting Beautiful old building
Review 31:The quiet room had absolutely no view and I missed having a balcony. The room was very clean but the wine glasses were not. The shower is tiny but the rain shower is fabulous
Review 32:Ideal location (even though it's deep in the pedestrian-only zone), comfortable, quiet room, charming and historic building, unbelievable breakfast, good sleep quality, great WiFi
Review 33:Would have liked a kettle in the bedroom but, like many European hotels, it wasn't included.
Review 34:Great building with a sense of history and the open air breakfast in the courtyard was marvelous. It is in a perfect site for exploring old Chania. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English.
Review 35:Only down side was the WiFi but we were on holiday so maybe this should be a plus!
Review 36:For a family holiday it would be difficult to do better that this hotel. You have to start with the wonderful staff and then there is the location, the breakfast the room...
Review 37:Parking is a little far away but if you want to stay in Old Towne all places are that way...
Review 38:Wonderful room, excellent staff and a great price when we stayed in late March...
Review 39:the hotel had the feel of a Riad all the rooms based around a court yard...it was cool and shaded and I am sure a welcome break from the heat in the summer months...the staff couldn't have done more if they tried...everybody was keen to help and offer advice of what to do/eat and go?
Review 40:The breakfast was good , but could have some more of the nice cretan cheese!
Review 41:The room was excellent, and we loved to stay there, quiet without traffic!
Review 42:Very friendly and helful staff. They made a lot of efforts in order to obtain a gluten free food for my wife, even without been informed about our request prior to our arrival. Wonderful spa.
Review 43:The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given excellent restaurant recommendations which was a good thing as it was a bank holiday and many were closed. The staff knew which ones were open and where to go. Nothing was too much trouble and they really did their best to make our stay as relaxing as possible.
Review 44:The posistion of this hotel is second to none it's roof top terrace/bar has the most amazing views across the waterfront and harbour. It's staff are a credit to the hotel and were most accommodating and helpful. The room we were allocated was large and pleasant and the bathroom had everything you needed ie slippers robe toiletries. Would we stay again? A big Yes on that one.
Review 45:The only thing you might find to criticise is the fact that the manager / owner is somewhat too familiar with the introductory routines and, thus, might seem a little upnosed when greeting you.
Review 46:It is difficult to describe the hotel and our stay with anything else but the sentence: It was perfect. Great room, perfect house overall, great breakfast, good service. We found the rate to be reasonable.
Review 47:Quite overpriced for what it offers, limited spa facilities. Breakfast quality varies a lot depending on the day, but the choice is limited at times, many of the items are not replenished throughout the service, with mostly sweet stuff on offer - nowhere near as good as some reviews suggest. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Review 48:The building is great and so is its location. They have a golf cart to bring you and your stuff to/from car park, but we only learnt about it once we have reached the reception.
Review 49:Locations is a treasure, in the heart of the old city jet remote from busy streets. Stuff more than helpful and friendly, ready to satisfy all your wishes and answer all your questions. Take time for excellent rich breakfast and enjoy your coffe in a beautiful patio. We did, it's priceless! Rooms are very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds.
Review 50:Bathroom could do with an upgrade as it's a little tired, but that's being really picky.
Review 51:Beautiful Venetian house in the small streets near the old harbour, with a lovely court yard. Staff we're amazingly helpful, breakfast in the courtyard was great. Room was very comfortable.
Review 52:My husband and I spent three weeks in Greece in Sept 2014. We stayed at Casa Delfino for four nights and the accommodations were, by far, the best we found in all of Greece! We missed our return flight home and had to return to the hotel to regroup. The hotel staff were more than helpful. They made phone calls for us, put us in touch with a travel agent, offered us hot showers and cool water, and packed treats for the flight. During our stay we enjoyed the breakfast bar which was not only organic and fresh but also absolutely delicious. Our room was luxurious and well stocked. I highlyrecomend this hotel. By the way, the whole staff from the front desk, the porter, housekeeping and kitchen staff treated us like family. They were all terrific!
Review 53:I have visited Casa Delfino 3 times so far and it has never disappointed my expectations. I never see myself going back to Chania and not visiting at least for a few nights this boutique hotel.
Review 54:Location in old town Chania is surprisingly quiet and remote from the crowds, jet few steps from everything of interest and pleasure. Great stuff, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, outdoor breakfast in deep shade of giant benjamin tree ... What else can you look for!
Review 55:Parking was a bit complicated, but nothing the hotel could do about. There was free municipal parking a short walk away, and the hotel has a golf cart to ferry people to and from.
Review 56:Very friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was homemade and one of the best we've ever had. The room amenities were top quailty, and the location was excellent for strolling around the old town. We had a fantastic stay.
Review 57:Nothing!
Review 58:A beautiful building, extremely well kept and spotless Wonderful service Excellent air conditioning Beautiful roof terrace - perfect for a glass of wine in the evening
Review 59:Noise at night
Review 60:Fantastic boutique hotel. Great quality food and service and in the centre if the old town-perfect for exploring. Only draw back is the noise at night. Because all the buildings are so close the noise doesn't escape but instead keeps you awake!
Review 61:This is a really beautiful hotel, decorated with exquisite taste, and very well equipped and pleasant rooms. It transmits calm. Casa Delfino is close to the harbour and located just at the heart of the Venetian neighbourhood, with all the restaurants and nice shops nearby. This is a good place to relax one step away from the sea, and few kilometers from paradisiacal beaches. Casa Delfino has a very charming Spa, together with a delicious roof with jacuzzi and the yard where breakfast is served. This is a remarkable selection of traditional homemade Greek sweets and other treats. However, the most exceptional aspect of the hotel is its staff, always ready, kind and available to give information and hints, to book restaurants... so you feel truly at home. A couple of examples: There is a cute luggage transportation service with a golf cart so you don't have to carry suitcases for the 80 meters that separate Casa Delfino and the parking lot, as well as provision of umbrellas or towels for the beach. Highly recommendable.
Review 62:We came here for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time. We had a beautiful room. Breakfast was delicious and we loved how it was in the lobby w the tree as the roof. The concierge was helpful each day making our dinner reservations as well as reservations for the Samaria gorge and massages when we returned. Overall our stay was wonderful and it was a great location.
Review 63:The bathroom was not on the same floor as the room so in the middle of the night you had to go downstairs.
Review 64:The hotel is a beautiful Venetian palace . You have a gourmet breakfast in a magical patio.
Review 65:Everything was great- if I were to change one thing, I would have included some traditional cretan touches in the design of the rooms
Review 66:The location, the friendly and efficient staff who gave wonderful reccomendations for restaurants and shos, the view from the roof top of the hotel, the courtyard
Review 67:The location in old Chania town is beautiful, very scenic and walking distance to major historical sights, great restuarants, and shopping - best place on the island. The staff is so helpful, warm and welcoming - we arrived exhausted at 11:00 at night and they immediately came and helped us with our luggage and even helped park our car. Anything you need (even prescription medicine we forgot to bring) they are happy to help and will get for you. The breakfast was delicious. Very fresh, homemade with lots of choices (even made to order cappuccinos and lattes), they even came in early to serve us so we could eat before our early ferry ride. The suite was beautiful and very spacious, clean and comfortable. Love everything about Casa Delfina and can't wait to go back!!!
