Reviews for Wroughton Lodge

Review 1:Everything about Wroughton Lodge is warm and welcoming. The room we stayed in was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Review 2:Thought we could walk into the village but the road had no path and was slightly further than was advertised on Booking.com

Review 3:Would have rathered it was closer to the village but was great value for money compared to staying in the village

Review 4:Little remote for winter stay so need car. 3 miles to closest town.

Review 5:Good location for country walking in the summer. Off main road. Cock Inn over the road good food and atmospheric.

Review 6:Very dated, unchanged since the seventies (furniture, peach bathroom suite etc). Breakfast awful apart from decent coffee (sausages had been cooked hours before even though I was the only guest and had breakfast at the time I indicated I would).

Review 7:Spacious room, good large television. Area nice, nearby village of Lavenham very nice.

Review 8:Breakfast menu unexciting. Staff not always available when needed.

Review 9:Very comfortable accommodation. Peaceful location. Storage facility for bikes. Fridge in room. Easy parking.

Review 10:Very friendly welcome, excellent bedroom and the breakfast was superb. Free WiFi and plenty of parking. Definitely the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in

Review 11:Pleasant and sincere welcome to a spotless and inviting large house. The room was large, the ensuite bathroom huge and the ambience restful. The breakfast was very nice and the whole experience was delightful.

Review 12:Really large room with sufficient space for ourselves with an extra 2 single beds in the adjoining room if needed. Really good breakfast. Lavernham is really interesting and picturesque. Well worth the visit.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:We arrived on a tandem after a 60 mile ride. We were made very welcome. A hot shower, followed by a walk across the road to the very quaint local pub for a meal and a good bed was all that we needed.

Review 15:we came for w/e my friend and i had two rooms my room was huge and the bed was lovely. i had a very good nite sleep breakfast was very tasty and elizabeth was very helpful.

Review 16:I was moved to the downstairs bedroom on my second night as the one i was in was booked, my fault for not booking the two nights stay both at the same time!! The first was lovely but the second downstairs bedroom was poor and the bathroom very dated and not very nice. I had to go and use my friends lovely modern shower in her room.

Review 17:That it was close to so many lovely restaurants , pubs and villages. Elizabeth the owner was lovely and helpful.

Review 18:There was nothing we disliked. Loved everything.

Review 19:A delightful B&B in beautiful surroundings. Wonderful hospitality in a charming house. We were looked after very well. Room very comfortable and lovely cooked breakfast . Lovely attention to detail. Will recommend to others and hope to return in the future. Fantastic end to our short holiday .

Review 20:Beautiful home inside and out. The pool was a lovely treat. The room was large and had everything you could need. Exceptionally clean. The breakfast was lovely and beautifully presented. Host was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Highly recommend.

Review 21:Paying in cash, rather pay card but only due to easier for company book work. However this would not put me off staying again.

Review 22:A lovely large room with a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The room had a fridge and a lovely table to sit at and look into the garden. Very warm welcome and super breakfast. I will definitely stay again when next in area.

Review 23:Liked everything, I would class it at 5 star and would have paid more for a night there. The room was huge and more like a suite, just fell in love with the place, Elizabeth was very helpful and charming.

Review 24:The room and breakfast were excellent and altogether better than the two hotels where we stayed for the previous nights one of which had a four star classification.

Review 25:Cash no cards but I can understand why.

Review 26:I liked the proprietors, the quiet, the comfort, the cleanliness and, the attention to detail. Lovely quality soft furnishings and the china at breakfast

Review 27:Liked the welcome once I had established on the phone exactly where Wroughton Lodge was. The owner, Mrs Knight is very helpful and informative and was born in this small and interesting village near Lavenham. The breakfast is of very good quality with good chinaware and could be described as "quintessentially English". Just across the road there is a small traditional country Pub called The Cock. Food here is very good and plentiful. Sandwiches are generously made and the Landlord joked that his wife could get 2 rounds out of 1 loaf!

Review 28:Our host was a delight - breakfast magnificent and the room was a pleasure, very comfortable and spotlessly clean - congratulations to a very well run establishment. Many thanks indeed

Review 29:A gracious English country home, peaceful and welcoming, with a charming, friendly hostess. Ideally situated to explore Constable country and all the other heritage sites of the area. The breakfast was excellent, served on beautiful English China.

Review 39:I could hear the people above me but only until they settled and I don't think they would have woken me if I hadn't have been awake already.

Review 40:Lady of the house very helpful with directions. I was made to feel very welcome. Bedroom was comfy and had the extra pillows I had asked for. Plenty of hot water and ver clean and smelled nice and fresh.

Review 41:Mrs Knight was such a sweetie.Nothing was too much trouble.Made us extremely welcome in her wonderful family home. The breakfast room was a delight.Never seen such besutiful table laid for breakfast in any other B&B we have stayed in.Including Hotels.Very enjoyable.

Review 42:Poor selection of breakfast cereals. No breakfast fresh fruit salad. Small TV .

Review 43:Wroughton Lodge. Lovely grounds. Friendly owner. Nice cooked breakfast. Room Fridge.

Review 44:Excellent B & B for an overnight stop or base for exploring the area if you are going to be out during the day. Has a nice garden and small pool, but they were being used by the owner's grandchildren while we there - so may be available to guests outside school holidays, which would make it an excellent place altogether. Really old-fashioned pub across the road - just wooden benches and great ales - the locals put bread and cheeses on the bar and you can take a bit to go with your beer! - I loved it. Lavenham and other villages nearby had lots of places for good proper meals. I particularly liked The George & Dragon at Long Melford

Review 45:Very warm and hospitable and great value. Owners helpful guiding me in when I got lost and patient with my terrible sense of direction / phone calls. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast proper Full English. Idyllic setting. Tassels on light shades, a true sign of a proper B&B
