Reviews for Cadogan Hotel
Review 1:VERY steep stairs up to the first floor, have to be careful.
Review 2:Very amiable owner ( Julie ) Full english breakfast was really nice ! I particularly liked the fact that I wasn't pestered while eating,( a pet hate of mine. ) The hotel was a little tired and dated but adequate. Bed was a little hard but as I was knackered I slept well ! Great hot shower to wake you up in the morning. Good location, walking distance to the High Street.
Review 3:The room was described as "superior double" and would not merit that description in a boarding house. The price of £135 per night was therefore excessive and only justified by the fact it was a race day.
Review 4:Location OK and had it's own car park
Review 5:A minor inconvenience in the room I was in was that the kettle was on the floor. A longer flex would have enabled the kettle to be placed on the worktop and allow easier access.
Review 6:The hotel was well situated and the staff very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice.
Review 7:nothing
Review 8:The owners of this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great, being just outside the town centre but easily walkable in about 10 minutes. The hotel is clean, comfortable and homely. We did not sample the food as we had to leave early in the morning.
Review 9:Owned by a lovely couple who were very friendly and accommodating. Room ready for check in when we arrived at 11.30. Obviously newly painted. Bed was very comfy.
Review 10:Dirty room, skirting boards have never seen a duster , the wall behindthe t and coffee desk was filthy , with t stains running down the wall, the free chocolate bars and hot chocolate sachets looked liked they hadcome from the bottom of someone's handbag all squashed and screwedup!!! This place needs some tlc and it could b great. Uncomfortable beds, flat pillows.
Review 11:The location ,
Review 12:The décor is very tired and dated. It was a two bedroom room that sleeps 3, hence the price, but I thought it wasn't a £100 room compared to the other places I've stayed in Newmarket. It was generally clean but some bits, like the light shade, were filthy.
Review 13:I stay regularly at Newmarket so I have a good idea of the varying standards. Everything was reasonable. The bed was comfortable, its quite well located, it was reasonably clean and quiet.
Review 14:Nothing all was well and above expectations
Review 15:The friendliness helpful would deffinatley visit again when travelling to caister thank you so much Julie and kevin
Review 16:A musty damp smell when entering the property. The room I was in had inadequately positioned power sockets. The kettle had to be plugged in adjacent to the bed, then when boiled had to be taken over to the other end of the room to make a hot drink. I had to retune the TV's Freeview channels and delete unused channels. I informed the landlady that all the TV's require retuning but she said she had already done so.Not true in my room. An awful amount of water was wasted whilst waiting for the shower to become warm enough to use.
Review 17:That the room contained an iron and board.
Review 18:Had a really pleasant stay here - a nice, family run business. Owners were happy to help with directions around town, suggestions of places to eat/things to do etc. I was made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed my stay.
Review 19:The hotel is worn out and tatty. Needs a refurb.

Review 42:Nothing!
Review 43:made extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, even changing the meal time to accommodate us.
Review 44:I stayed there only recently and found on my arrival that there was a wasp nest in my bathroom. After notifying reception I was told pest control would come in and sort it. I stayed for four nights and every morning that I went in to the bathroom I found a swarm of wasps had appeared again!
Review 45:Poor decor. Wall coverings dirty, cracked, rawl plugs pulling out of walls, dirt on skirting boards. Musty smell in hallways. Generally very tired looking.
Review 46:Julie and ken were great hosts always helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Had a good couple of days with them and will definitely be going back.
Review 47:The hotel was filthy, our room had not been cleaned or vacuumed, I had to clean the toilet before we could use it with a wet wipe I had. The toilet didn't flush properly. There were pubic hairs and filth in the sink and hairs in the bath and cobwebs around the bed. We certainly didn't want to eat there if this was their level of cleanliness!
Review 48:The location
Review 49:It was nice to stay in a friendly non corporate hotel, the owners were friendly and obliging, the hotel had a lived in feel. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Review 50:probably has not changed in the last 40 years, there is a dusk smell as soon as you enter, needs a lot of money spent on the interrior of this building.
Review 51:freindly staff, could not do enough for us, food was very good. great location,
Review 52:No glasses in bathroom for water - teeth cleaning.(unless I didn't see them! (used cup) At breakfast juice glasses looked very grubby/smeary and had to carefully select cleanest looking. Cutlery was similar, so a bit off-putting. Maybe this was result if a faltering dish washer! No muesli available.(small point)
Review 53:Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Tea, hot choc making facilities
Review 54:After spending £100 for one night in a bearly 2star hotel was awakeas the adjacent room had a party until 6am so no sleep with paperthin walls

Review 75:Very run down and very overpriced, my radiator in the room had pet hair on it and the skirting boards. Very expensive would not stay again.
Review 76:My room could have done with bit more TLC. Few cobwebs in corners, insects that had perished.
Review 77:Relaxed atmosphere - part of the family feel.
Review 78:Bit smelly and dated
Review 79:a power shower would have been nice.
