Reviews for Hôtel Le Montaigu
Review 1:Room and bathroom need renovation. Towels were tiny and thin, bathroom toiletries were in paper packets. This is not a three star hotel.
Review 2:Breakfast - good choice and excellent croissants
Review 3:The place has a good Potential , the rooms and bathroom can be updated
Review 4:The staff is very good and helps a lot. The location is near the center of the city.
Review 5:The room and the hotel was a bit warned
Review 6:We spent one night at the hotel, the staff was very nice and helpful(they were willingly let us use the hotel refrigerator), the view from the room was beautiful.
Review 7:I've stayed at this hotel 5 times in the last 6 years and have always loved it. The rooms are clean and nice. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is SUPERB. The hotel is well stiautated to enjoy Luz - St. Saveur by being close to the town center, but away from the crowds. I'm looking forward to my next stay next year.
Review 8:Maybe just a bit dated but thats just being picky really As the facilities good and spotlessly clean
Review 9:The proprietors We're very warm and welcoming The food was top quality
Review 10:Lobby/lounge area can have poor ventilation. It smelled like ham for the whole afternoon one day. For the rooms above the bar / lounge area, the noise from downstairs can persist past 10pm. Flies / bugs can come in the room in summer months when you need to leave the window open for cooling the room at night.
Review 11:Very friendly owner Jean Paul will welcome you with a big smile and help with all your questions about the hiking and touring in the area. Very generous with regards to complementary breakfast and laundry service.
Review 12:A lovely experience. Ok the decor is a little old but the hotel was just what we were looking for: a hotel a short walk away for the centre of town, a big room, quiet, comfortable bed, somewhere to park our motorbike which was safe, ample breakfast and lovely staff. They also offer evening meals. Great spot also a lovely garden to enjoy that all important evening beer..
Review 13:It lacked character and atmosphere - an upmarket Travellodge. This is a shame as it could easily score higher.
Review 14:great view from bedroom balcony and staff very friendly and helpful.Nice evening meal - essential on Sundays as most places in France shut down for the day
Review 15:Just over the bridge from Luz-St.-Sauveur but very central. Ideal base for any cyclist. Good Restaurant and a nice feel to the place created by the Owners.
Review 16:The owners of the hotel were very kind and helpful. It's not posh but it has a homely appeal. The food was excellent. Great value for money and somewhere I would visit again
Review 17:Shower very poorly designed. It was impossible to get behind the curtain and lather while the water was on. Water saving measure? Room decor is spartan. Room key security in the Lobby is doubtful unless there is someome at the desk.
Review 18:Rooms were reasonably sized, clean and comfortable. Dining room food and service were good, not special, and reasonable value for a resort. Lots of easy parking, and a short walk to the centre. Staff very pleasant and helpful if occasoinally hard to find.
Review 19:A Coffee/ tea making facility in the room would have been nice.
Review 20:Staff very obliging and clearly well trained & smartly dressed. We loved the relaxed & friendly atmosphere of this family run hotel. Breakfast was really lovely.Position in Luz really nice, at quiet end of town, but within walking distance of shops etc. We loved your gentle giant Aslan. We will be back again.

Review 38:the bathrooms were not that clean--bedding was older and covers were stained.
Review 39:reasonable breakfast. good location and parking.
Review 40:The hotel was homely and welcoming. The evening meals were superb. Great walks and scenery nearby.
Review 41:Shower didn't work and bath had no tap
Review 42:The friendly staff who were so helpful
Review 43:A fridge in the room would be welcome.
Review 44:Although the dinner menu was fixed for guests on half board, it was a delicious typical French cuisine.
Review 45:The bed could have been more comfortable!
Review 46:Clean and extremely well run. Location-close to the town, but in a quiet place.

Review 55:Spacious room, quiet location. Free parking. Very friendly staff and of course Aslan the hotel dog.
Review 56:The general feel of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff was fantastic. They couldn't do enough for you, even allowing us to delay our checkout time to 5.00pm at very short notice and without extra cost. 5*****
Review 57:We liked this family run hotel and the way the owner supplied maps and showed us the best hikes and climbs in the area. Also when we had a dental problem he made an appointment for us with the local dentist. We were very welcome. score 10/10
Review 58:Excellent service and the dining experience was very good. Helpful staff, and a nice large patio to relax with a beverage. Great location in town, can walk to shops and restaurants.
Review 59:The town is probably well past its prime for tourism and water therapy. Most of the locations for hiking and skiing are well to the south, higher in the Pyrenees.
Review 60:Nice owners, helpful. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced.
Review 61:We liked everything about this hotel
Review 62:The hotel was fantastic. The staff couldn't have been more helpfulor welcoming. The town had been hit by some terrible flooding earlier inthe week as had large areas of the Pyranees, but the hotel wasunaffected by this by the time we arrived although cleaning up was goingon in the village itself. The owners of the hotel took time to tell usthe best back roads to use to get to Gavarnie due to road closures fromthe floods and each evening we discussed with them in their excellentEnglish how our day had been and what sights we had seen and theyoffered suggestions for the next day. The room was beautiful with twobalconies and superb views over the mountains and the village and thebreakfast and evening meals were delicious , excellent value and servedby polite and courteous staff. We had an evening drink on the outdoorterrace each night which was comfortable and atmospheric. Lovely hotelwith very nice staff.
Review 63:Check out is at 11- had housekeeping burst in to my room twice unannounced from 0900 onwards- opened the door with their key and justopened the door ? its as if they wanted to get in and clean the roomswhen it suited their schedule. We were told breakfast was until 10, whenwe arrived at 0930 their was not much left and wait staff reluctant toassist- seemed to be too much trouble.....
Review 64:Views were amazing- Would recommend for views........
Review 65:too expensive for value received, overrated, charge Euro 11 per basic breakfast (+ Euro 6 for egg and bacon), most basic facility and worn out furniture.
Review 66:beatiful location, friendly staff
Review 67:Quite basic accommodation. It would be good if the bar opened earlier to allow pre-dinner drinks.
Review 68:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good straightforward hotel - unpretentious, but very clean and comfortable. Good parking. Simple but good value and good quality food. Nice bar/lounge area. Owners are lovely people.
Review 69:The hotel smelled very strongly of cologne in the hallways and even in our room. Whichever cleaning products they used were far too odorous. The staff member at guest services was rude and not helpful. The noise from the hotel nightclub could be heard from our room well past midnight.
Review 70:The front desk staff member was very extremely helpful.
Review 71:Nothing! We would stay here again!
Review 72:Very welcoming. Good sized family room. Ideally situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Breakfast was a continental type one with cheese and ham available.
Review 73:We really did enjoy the hosts as they are the owners of the hotel. They were very accommodating, extremely nice and attentive to details. We recommend this hotels and we would definitively g back for our next ski trip.
