Reviews for Best Western Heath Court Hotel

Review 1:Entire wing plagued with constant noise from kitchen extractor. Off at midnight on at about 6 am. No alternative rooms available.

Review 2:Central location. Comfortable bed. Clean room.

Review 3:Not fair to call it a" bad experience", but not being very technical, found a degree might be useful to work the new coffee machines, even with the instructions!

Review 4:Even better staff and service than years gone by. Nice to have the fried eggs cooked to order in full view for breakfast!

Review 5:I found the mattress in my room overly soft, at least on the edge. I nearly rolled off because it gave way so much. It did not interfere with my sleep however.

Review 6:Great staff that I dealt with and good location for everything I needed. Good full breakfast on the one day I did eat there. Spacious room and bathroom.

Review 7:Room like being in an electrocution chamber.Very dated, poor wallpapering, bathroom dated, kettle full of brown rust, biscuits half eaten

Review 8:Good breakfast and polite effective service

Review 9:Sadly this hotel is in need of a make-over, seems to be in a time warpabout 1970 a real sad format of rooms in an outdated chalet style. Why do these places continue - the web-site and pictures and or comments/reviews do NOT do this place justice. Admittedly booked in a hurry so will take more care next time.

Review 10:Location and restaurant V. Good

Review 11:Hated the fact that the single room had no outside window. I could hardly open the window onto a corridor even though it was a hot night.

Review 12:Clean and excellent for the centre of Newmarket.

Review 13:Some confusion over pricing of continental breakfast during our stay but sorted out.

Review 14:Location. Excellent and attentive staff. Spacious and well equipped room

Review 15:Newmarket smells of horse poo! The hotel location is great but the outlook over the petrol station and surroundings is a tad grim.

Review 16:A friend joined me for dinner in the restaurant and the food was really very good.

Review 17:Stiffling hot and stuffy in upper floor bedroom so could not sleep nearly unbearable. No air conditioning in room and incredibly noisy with slightest bit of a window pen.

Review 18:Room tired and in need of redecoration. Budget rooms only offer window on to internal corridor.

Review 19:Friendly staff. Good location near to Newmarket town centre and convenient for visits to Newmarket racecourses. Short walk to gallops to view racehorses at exercise.

Review 20:Most of my stay, poor quality! I do look at getting some money back. Area understand the money but the hotel well over priced for what you got. room for a double was tiny! Not enough room at all! Not happy will not stay here again.

Review 21:It had a clean bathroom

Review 22:Our room had a window on to the corridor, not the outside, which we knew beforehand but was still quite bizarre.

Review 23:Ability to park at hotel as Newmarket is a busy place on a horse race weekend

Review 24:The duvet was very hot and I couldn't open the window as it was in a corridor. I know I could have kept the air con on all night but it was rather noisy. A lighter duvet would have been better.

Review 25:Easy to find. Lovely staff. beautiful room. Spotlessly clean.

Review 26:The fact that we couldn't gain access via the main door at 11pm. After knocking for 15 minutes we then had disturb other guests to try & help us get in which failed. Finally a member of staff arrived to let us on. No mention that the door was to be locked at 11pm on checking in. VERY VERY POOR.

Review 27:Beds & the breakfast

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:The position, close to the gallops and the town. Spacious, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Paper delivered. Easy parking. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 30:Dated and decor very tired. Superior Room overlooking a 24 hour garage! Animal Hair in the carpet!

Review 31:Location. Staff overall were helpful and friendly. Large Room. Comfortable bed.

Review 32:The shower was slow and difficult and the decor and furnishings all looked alittle tired. The overall look of the hotel was poor from the outside.

Review 33:The food was amazing and the bed was so comfy! And the tele was a big plus with so much to watch.

Review 34:Nothing to dislike.

Review 35:The location was brilliant as were the hotel facilities. Restaurant very good. Perfect for anyone interested in horse racing too. Walking distance to The Heath and great museum in town.

Review 36:The feather filling of the sofa back cushions. Full of loose feathers which worked their way through the material and onto clothing. Laying up for dinner all around when breakfast had not finished. Felt we were in the way. (But the food was excellent)

Review 37:The welcome from the Receptionist. The size of the superior room - like a small suite. The breakfasts were first rate.

Review 38:Unfortunately the breakfast was slightly dried up. No one there to give alternative to dried up scrambled eggs. Baked beans fairly dried up too.

Review 39:The staff were excellent in every department.

Review 40:The exterior of the hotel is very dated and gives off a cheap motel vibe, however do not be fooled as inside it is lovely!

Review 41:The rooms are lovely and the staff were friendly. The location is excellent.

Review 42:room not well cleaned. Ran out of sanitary begs and not replaced. Lightbulb over bed needed replacing. 2 plastic cups first night, both not replaced. Net curtains at front of hotel filthy or where they meant to be gray? Gives wrong impression

Review 43:A fuse had blown which meant that on arrival the TV didn't work - however room service were quick to fix it

Review 44:Nice bar, high quality free wifi, really comfy bed

Review 45:Not a bad experience but just to mention that the exterior appearance of the hotel is that of a motel - don't let this put you off!

Review 46:The most striking feature of the hotel was the excellent standard of cleanliness in our room but especially in the restaurant with immaculate linen & cutlery - something that is lacking in most places these days. Very spacious room & bathroom & very friendly efficient staff.

Review 47:Nothing to not like. Perhaps the cost was a little more than we would normally want to pay, but hotel costs in the area are higher than normal and so quite good value overall.

Review 48:Excellent location near to Newmarket High St and to Warren Hill gallops to watch the horses exercising in the morning. Walked up the street and horses everywhere - crossing the road and looking at us from their stables next door. Size of bedroom and bathroom. Availability of free parking on site. Friendly receptionist who directed my partner to nearest catholic church over Easter.

Review 49:My room was tired, the sofa was horribly uncomfortable and grubby. The free Wifi blocks almost everything, including gambling sites (in Newmarket during Gold Cup week). My colleagues shower didn't work at all.

Review 50:The public areas were clean and the food looked good. The hotel has free parking and is in the centre of Newmarket. My bathroom was immaculate.

Review 51:I had a meal of fish and chips in the evening. It tasted as if it had been cooked in old fat. Not very nice. Other food was ok

Review 52:Watching the horses on the gallops in the morning.

Review 53:There was a noisy motor (or similar) running nearby our room, which stopped late at night but started again about 07.30.

Review 54:The staff were excellent and very friendly. We were also given a free room upgrade.

Review 55:Nothing whatsoever!

Review 56:The welcoming staff and the general quiet air of refinement about the place made for a lovely relaxing stay. Bar meals were more than adequate and service was good. Sunday carvery was really lovely with sweets to die for (so leave some space!).

Review 57:No extractor fan in bathroom (but there was a window to open).

Review 58:Check in was very quick and easy. Rooms was warm, clean nicely furnished and had good blackout curtains - we had a great night's sleep. Bathroom and toiletries were all excellent.

Review 59:Parking was an issue. All spaces were gone but we managed to park in a parkable non parking spot. This of course I would imagin be easier on a night when parties were not being held and if we had arrived earlier. It might be an idea on busy nights that priority is given to hotel stayers as there is a car park not far away.

Review 60:When we booked it was a double room with an inside corridor window. Our room turned out to be with outside windows, a huge double and a single. The bathroom was huge too! Wll lit with different lighting options. A propoer dressing table with plugs up high for hairdryer etc. Spotlessly clean. When we arrived our bed had not been made. The thing with probolems is how staff deal with it. The lovely man on reception was very attentive and got is sorted promptly. This was on a night when they were increibly busy not just with hotel guests but they hotel was hosting two Christmas parties. He was alos very helpful at sorting out taxis etc. Excellent location for horse lovers. Just at the bottom of Warren Hill to enjoy the gallops. Very pleasantly surprised with the quality of sleep despite parties going on. Teh breakfast was a bufet style - good ingredients. And the toast was not made on one of thiose horrendous roller ones but a proper toaster!

Review 61:The hotel was dated. Could do with some TLC. Although the room was very big and warm and the bed was really comfortably.

Review 62:location was great. Just off the main street so easily walk into town on a night.Breakfast were lovely too.

Review 63:Having paid for a superior room, extremely disappointed, room 27,bathroom was unacceptable, mould round bath, could not use taps properly, just swivelled round making having a shower almost impossible,no Sky TV,although given leaflet to the contrary,by reception, not all the light fittings worked, would not stay here again.

Review 64:Bar area and restaurant, food was also good.

Review 65:Phoned ahead to check in early & reception accommodated my request :-) Also as we went out in the evening it was pouring down and the staff found an umbrella for us

Review 66:Nothing!!.

Review 67:I really enjoyed my room, as I could really relax. Staff were very friendly and very helpful when asked anything. I used the Wi-Fi which was very good. My room was very clean and the breakfast was a help yourself buffet, which was really nice, with plenty of choice.

Review 68:Did not partake of breakfast as it is too expensive and better ones can be enjoyed locally for a lot less money. Some of the younger staff seem more interested in standing chatting with each other rather than attending to guests.

Review 69:Location is excellent. Bed is comfortable.

Review 70:The staff seemed miserable and not very helpful. No nice fresh fruit for breakfast. When asked staff said don't have any more. I've always had lovely breakfast in best Western before. The shower was cold and trickled out

Review 71:Lovely comfy bed and bedding and very large room which we liked

Review 72:Decoration in the bathroom and hallways could do with freshening up.

Review 73:Loved the situation at the bottom of the gallops, the hotel staff were excellent, they couldn't have been more helpful from the moment we checked in until we left. food was very good although poss too much of it. Great that could take our dog at no extra charge

Review 74:More atttention needs to be given to detail. Back of tv screen very dusty, burn mark on tile in en-suite. Duvet very heavy and room too warm

Review 75:Good location, very friendly staff, good food and decent wi-fi

Review 76:Couldn't find fault with anything!

Review 77:The bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly.

Review 78:The way to our room was a bit of a maze and quite long.

Review 79:Our reservation was upgraded for free and we got a very nice room. The guy at the reception was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Was a pleasure to stay there.

Review 80:The hotel has aluminium windows so you can hear some noise but the lovely beds meant I wasn't awake long enough for it to affect me.

Review 81:The location was fabulous, close to Warren Hill, the Racing Museum, Jockey club and a stones throw from town centre with shops and restaurants. The food was lovely and very well cooked. The Hotel is in the middle of refurbishment. The ground floor is lovely and our room was also very good, comfortable and well equipped.

Review 82:I did not take a shower because there was no slip free mat provided. I would not have felt safe getting into the bath as I feared an accident. My husband and I both decided against getting into the bath and we were disappointed as the shower looked powerful and inviting.

Review 83:The staff were helpful, hotel room spacious with enough storage space for our requirements. The T.V. set was very good and the tea and coffee making was very good. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and well presented. The food was delicious. The bar was pleasant, T.V. good and bar staff very helpful

Review 84:See above

Review 85:Nice hotel stayed 2 nights ate at racecourse the first night second night we ate at the hotel . It was very disappointing there were 4 of us and we all felt the same, staff were under pressure and the food was poor.

Review 88:Not all rooms have a nice view. Check when booking.

Review 89:This is a lovely old school hotel with a real charm and super location. Ground floor areas recently refurbished and are comfortable and attractive. Breakfast very good and general service efficient. My room excellent and recently refurbished. Would definitely revisit.

Review 90:We stayed on a Saturday, our room over looked the car park and there was a wedding on. Heard all the music until well gone midnight and then the guests' good byes. A little noisy when you have children with you.

Review 91:The room and beds were very genourous. Bathroom and bed linen was clean. Staff friendly and quick to help.

Review 92:The loud droning noise coming from what sounded like an electricity substation situated above the ceiling, making it impossible to get any sleep. The receptionist thought it might be the fans from the kitchen. Either way we won't be going back.!

Review 93:Location

Review 94:Shower screen didn't fit properly = water on bathroom floor. No local beer at the bar. Kitchen door very loud banging all the time whilst eating.

Review 95:large room.

Review 96:nothing

Review 97:thought the staff were excellent couldnt do enough, hotel was very clean and the food was excellent, great location for us horse racing nuts ,the rooms could do with air con as windows dont open very wide but overall could fault very little ,would stay again
