Reviews for Invernairne
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Everything is excellent here - the house, views, small garden, access to the sea coast . Very warm welcome of the owners. House, where you can stay for a few days
Review 3:Location is perfect in Nairn, close to beach and town centre but on a quiet residential road. Stayed in a large room with gorgeous views. Excellent relaxed breakfast
Review 4:Lovely friendly proprietors who made sure I was catered for being gluten free and dairy free. Very helpful people nothing too much trouble. Great views, comfortable room, near to beach and town. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Review 5:Very warm welcome; beautiful clean room with amazing outlook and comfortable bed; delicious breakfast and very kind and helpful staff. Even made us a packed breakfast for our early start on the last morning. Could not have been better.
Review 6:all good nothing bad
Review 7:lovely welcoming hosts, exceptionally clean and well maintained larger Victorian house with lovely gardens and sea view .. fantastic hot and cold buffet breakfast, all you could eat ,lovely table linen on table, all in all a class act
Review 8:There is absolutely nothing I didn't appreciate
Review 9:Direct access to the amazing beach, very friendly owners, I had a tiny and confortable room with everything I needed. Very peaceful and quiet.
Review 10:Poor facilities within the room- cheap towels, bed linen and toiletries. Uncomfortable mattresses. Bar only open for a short time but provided with plenty of alternative locations.
Review 11:Lovely location, friendly staff. Lovely continental breakfast provided early for a number of guest completely an event locally.
Review 12:Lovely building with a quaint garden. Beautiful breakfast room with sea views. We chose a superior room with sea view. It was worth the extra money! Doug and Kay are wonderful hosts.
Review 13:Fresh fruit would be nice with breakfast. Otherwise a nice Scottish meal.
Review 14:Great location close to the walking trail along the beach and golf course Incredibly nice and helpful owners. They had wonderful suggestions for restaurants and local activities.
Review 15:The hotel has great character, location and is kept immaculately. It belongs to a bygone era and when you are staying there it is a special experience. The hotel looks out onto the Moray Firth and you can walk along the beach.Highly recommended.
Review 16:Nothing at all.
Review 17:The very convenient location and beautiful setting by the sea, the comfort and facilities of the bedroom and the very friendly welcome from the owners. Breakfast was very tasty and in a room which has breath-taking views of the sea.
Review 18:WIFI intermittent, unable to use in room had to go down stairs very inconvenient. In this day and age WIFI connectivity is important and can make or break a stay or even prevent returning.
Review 19:Quite location, scenic area.
Review 20:The only thing I would take points off for is the narrow bed in the single room I occupied. The mattress was comfortable enough, but there was barely room to turn over, even for a small person. The bed also seemed to slant slightly downward. The room is small, and a bigger bed would make it even smaller, however. Thus, depending on one's budget, I'd suggest choosing a double room, even if travelling solo.
Review 21:The Invernairne Guesthouse is a charming late 19th-century seaside hotel perched on a hill overlooking one of Scotland's most atttractive beaches, whose red sandstone rock pools are a unique feature. The hotel is close enough to walk into the town centre (if you are not dragging a lot of luggage). There is ample parking at the hotel. Rail travellers should definitely arrange for a taxi. The owners are extremely friendly and engaging. Well worth a two-to-three- day stay, even if Scotland's climate is not ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The sea view from the dining room/bar is stunning.
Review 22:What a beautiful guest house. The staff were terrific, so friendly and the four poster room was so lovely and comfy. The breakfast was beautiful too. What more could you want.
Review 23:Excellent facilities in a beautiful setting with views of the sea. Lovely helpful and kind people who welcomed us and saw to our every need. Very comfortable and very clean with everything we needed, the best premises we have stayed in.
Review 24:small bathroom so wash basin was in the bedroom.
Review 25:Lovely building well maintained. Very friendly hosts, nothing too much trouble. Set right on the beach. Breakfast very good.
Review 26:The only (tiny) complaint I would have is that the towels were a bit on the small side! But I would go again tomorrow!
Review 27:The welcome we received and the on-going concern for our well-being. The position is lovely and the whole experience was thoroughly relaxing.
Review 28:I arrived late and had to leave early - outwith the normal breakfast service hours. This was not a problem at all and Kay went out of her way to ensure that I was able to get in to my room as easily as possible and she even left me a breakfast parcel on my door to make sure that I had eaten. First class service and beautiful guest house. Will definitely be back :)
Review 29:Very friendly and helpful hosts. Large rooms. Situated on the beach with beautiful view. Delicious, large breakfast to send us off exploring. We hope to be able to return.
Review 30:Got the smallest room, was appropriate for me, loved it, especially after a day of hikes and long drive. Would have needed a bit more space for a longer stay.
Review 31:The staff is amazing and really helpful. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had in a hotel. The beach is close by and the most gorgeous place ever...
Review 32:As I am not a good packer it would have helped to have ironing facilities in the room.
Review 33:The welcome was very friendly . The room was spacious . Access to a ground floor room. The proximity to the beach and easy reach of the beach .The view from the dining room was special . The breakfast and service was excellent.
Review 34:Very comfortable bed and plenty of space in bedroom. Immediate offer of help to take in luggage both on arrival and when we were leaving. Lovely variety of fruit, cereal and cooked food on offer at breakfast.
Review 35:Bar closes quite early (though lots of alternative choices nearby) and no evening meals available on site.
Review 36:Location is perfect for the beach and nice and quiet just to chill out. Staff very accommodating and welcoming. Dog friendly (and an ideal location for beautiful walks).
Review 37:That I only had 2 nights could easily have passed a week there!
Review 38:The peacefulness and comfortable welcoming accommodation. Wonderful to be able to escape for long walk along the sea front within a minute of leaving the building. Very easy to go into the town for something to eat and owner map and recommendations of eateries very good.
Review 39:We would have liked a top sheet to keep the duvet in place on the bed.
Review 40:The location of the hotel, the decor, the peaceful atmosphere and the view from the room across the Moray Firth. Also the direct access to the beach.
Review 41:It was fantastic, from the warm welcome we got when we arrived, to the wonderful room with amazing veiws of the beach. And what can we say about the breakfast, everything you could want. Very high standard.
Review 42:Being on a motorbike car park was challenging due to it being a hardcore surface
Review 43:Amenities are very close especially the golf course with excellent menu
Review 44:The owners of the hotel were really nice and friendly. The view from the room was magnificent. Delicious breakfast, very close to beach, good atmosphere. Had a great time there! :-)
Review 45:The hosts were absolutely perfect. They were there if we needed anything-but gave us plenty of privacy. The building and decor is striking-plenty of ambiance-with all the modern luxuries.
Review 46:TV reception was poor - signal not strong enough, booster required perhaps? Shower cubicle a little small and past its best. WiFi was intermittent late evening.
Review 47:Breakfast, close to the beach, beautiful hotel, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, quiet room, parking space.
Review 48:The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and had adequate facilities. We didn't have a view from the room but we had a window table at breakfast so enjoyed it then while eating an excellent breakfast. To sum it up, Superb!
Review 49:The list of restaurants we were given was poor. The Italian in Nairn which was recommended on the list was awful. Frozen food used and just horrible.
Review 50:A quiet hotel with huge bedrooms. Very clean and fantastic location. Breakfast great with wonderful owners.
Review 51:Lack of dining facilities and restrictive bar opening hours
Review 52:Good location for access to shoreline. Plenty of room and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast.
Review 53:Internet connections were poor but it was probably the area rather than the hotel specifically as mobilr internet reception throughout the town was patchy.
Review 54:Spacious bedroom with great views over the Moray Firth. Breakfast was well cooked, The breakfast room was bright and airy. The establishment was clean and well maintained.
Review 55:The location was great very easy walk to the beach in a quiet area. The staff were most helpful especially recommending a very good place for dinner. The house itself is beautiful very clean and comfortable. I hope we will be back again
Review 56:Just home from a lovely weekend at The Invernairne with 2 young children. Hotel is beautiful and loved the little path through the garden down to the beach. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent. Although the place was almost fully booked it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
Review 57:Bar shut at 8, but you are forewarned , although the owner did make me a drink after last orders which was appreciated. And they give you a list of places to eat and drink nearby. Wifi was slow but didn't really use it anyway.
Review 58:Everything . Slept very well. Views overlooking the sea. Quiet location. Beds comfy. Nice bath & shower. Absolutely delicious breakfast !!
Review 59:Had difficulty connecting to wifi but we were forwarned. The owners Kay & Doug were trying to get it sorted but without much success at present.
Review 60:Friendliness, welcoming clean hotel, what you see on the internet is what you get.
Review 61:We would have liked the lounge bar to stay open a bit later than 8pm.
Review 62:Owners / staff were very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Excellent location with beautiful views.
Review 63:The location close to the sea in a quiet part of town. The property was spacious and of good quality. Breakfast was buffet but we could order other items not included in the buffet.
Review 64:Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late but that wasn't an issue for the proprietors. Room had a beautiful view, comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast buffet was good. Good selection and fresh fruit as well as yoghurt. Ample parking on site
Review 65:I was part of a group of 6 who stayed here for a wedding and Doug & Kay made us all feel so welcome. So much so it was almost like staying with family friends. The beds very comfortable, the rooms had everything we needed and the breakfast was delicious! The cherry on top was the location with a beautiful beach walk right on the doorstep. I couldn't recommend Invernairne more!
Review 66:I ended up in Nairn seeking a booking close to Inverness, where I was searching. The hotel was a unique place, but Nairn itself is not a destination that was of much interest to me.
Review 67:fabulous old hotel, lots of character
Review 68:None
Review 69:Everything great about this guesthouse, the building, location, wonderful views. Hosts Kay and Douglas most welcoming and friendly. Breakfast good selection. Nairn is a nice little town, everything at walking distance from the house.
Review 70:Lovely building, warm welcome and helpful patrons; great views and location right by the sea. Breakfast room is delightful - spacious and with sea views. Had a fine walk along beside the sea, using the private access to the beach - a real plus.
Review 71:Nothing much. Quite quiet this time of year. Bar closed early.
Review 72:Views, sea and landscape. Nairn is a really nice place. Gardens are well set out. Path straight onto the beach for the important stroll.
Review 73:Being almost 8 months pregnant I felt our care was excellent! We we're shown to our room and felt very welcome. Breakfast was first class! Will definitely be back!

Review 77:The location was great and the staff so attentive. Plenty parking. Beautiful well kept gardens with lovely scenic sea views. Excellent room with a sea view, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome with lots of choice and made very welcome. Would definitely make a return visit.
Review 78:No restaurant or any kind of evening food option and the bar is only open until 8pm. We were not aware of this before we booked. A shame as otherwise it was great.
Review 79:Liked the views. Lovely old hotel with loads of character and high ceilings but with modern decor and facilities. Lovely owners and excellent breakfast.
Review 80:A lovely place for a beach walk and relax as well as the ability to base yourself close to the local sights eg Culloden, Fort George, Distilleries, Castles etc
Review 81:Having to go home was the downside of our trip!
Review 82:From the moment we were greeted by the staff at invernairne we knew our stay was going to be a much needed haven of peace. Staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Room was bright, clean and fresh. had a wonderful sea view , beds comfortable and adequate en suite. pathway leading from garden to the beach was wonderfully convenient! Breakfast room is a beautiful room looking on to sea. Breakfast had enough variety of cereals, yoghurts, fruit etc and cooked breakfast. Always willing to make you as many fresh pots of tea as you wish!
Review 83:Amazing owners who put the guest first. Very good breakfast and stunning location for the beach. Owners helped out with a bucket & spade and a beach towel for our little girl. She still remembers the lovely family dog!
Review 84:The room we were given was not a fair representation of the pictures on the website. I would not have booked the room if I had seen the actual picture.
Review 85:Location and when I did complain about the room a reduction was promptly offered. Good breakfast and pleasant service.
Review 86:Very quiet place, close to wonderful large beach.Charming house with history yet newly renovated. Dining room with spectacular view to the sea. Very friendly host.
Review 87:Couldn't sing the praises of this hotel and its staff any higher. The location is just beautiful – with a little privates path down to a semi-deserted beach – and our room, with fourposter bed, had a glorious Seaview. The hotel itself was gorgeous. And the owners were really lovely helpful but not intrusive people.
Review 88:Prives are generally to high from our perspective for good B&Bsin Scotlands tourist areas up North.
Review 89:Very friendly owners who run the place! Top Breakfast.
Review 90:Location just by the beach, very roomy suite with double bed and separate twin room, ample breakfast, sea view, easy friendly, character large bar.
Review 91:n/a because everything was lovely it was quite expensive for what we usually pay for a weekend but it was the most reasonable available when I booked.
Review 92:view from dining room background music in dining room calming freshly painted owners helpful but not in your face
Review 93:Bathroom needs refurb. Towels were bit thin.

Review 97:Lovely sea front but tired town.
Review 98:We had a premium very large room with an excellent sea view, well worth a few pounds more. Efficient well run guest house if you need to stay near Nairn.

Review 100:We can't think of anything we didn't like about Invernairne.
Review 101:We loved Invernairne, which exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious and well-appointed and the public areas were impressive. Such care and attention had been applied to breakfast, which we very much enjoyed. We also enjoyed the historic photographs and information about the property. Our welcoming and helpful hosts were also appreciated.
Review 102:Had to climb into tub for shower, which had very little water pressure. Only two really small, very thin, towels. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
Review 103:Location
Review 104:We liked everything in this hotel. Great location, large room, clean, very friendly stuff, beautiful breakfast room and nice breakfast. We also liked the garden with view and proximnity to the beach.
Review 105:Lovely, lovely people own the Invernairne. They are warm, friendly, and welcoming. Great set-up/room layout for families. Beautiful garden setting right on the beach.
Review 106:cost was a little high
Review 107:excellent breakfast, caring personnel, beautiful setting, room with bath as well as shower, tea, coffee and biscuits in room, wide selection of brochures.
Review 108:Drab furnishings, all lacking any sense of style. Felt spare and cheap. Pull chord for the overhead light in the bathroom. Small thin towels. One step above Ikea furnishings. Sad.
Review 109:In an enviable position just up from the Nairn promenade. You can see the sun set over the firth in the evening and watch it rise the next morning. Lovely view from the room and dining room. Friendly welcome and ample breakfast buffet.
