Reviews for Covenanters Inn
Review 1:Room was fine, just a few minor items, only 1 socket outlet in the room and no where to hang up towels in the bathroom. Rooms are looking tired but were more than ample for a 1 night stay.
Review 2:Friendly staff, lovely breakfast
Review 3:It was very old building, dark rooms, no Internet, bed was very uncomfortable. I booked it for two nights but left after one. The staff member was very accommodating.
Review 4:Staff was polite and nice
Review 5:breakfast was ok, but cheap eggs, cheap bread makes cheap poached eggs on toast. False economy in buying cheap. A few more signs of life in the bar would have been good.
Review 6:staff were friendly and helpful, chicken soup was excellent
Review 7:wasn't necessary to change towels every day. Cheap toilet roll false economy. Mattress lumpy and could have better pillows. Cooked breakfast bit greasy, but scrambled eggs very good.
Review 8:Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The staff are friendly and helpful and parking is very easy and just 10mins from Nairn. There is also a bus service every half hour if want to leave the car.
Review 11:Rooms a tad too much furniture but OK. A shower curtain with mildew on it - even though obviously washed and pressed is not a good look.
Review 12:Great breakfast- nice and hot and cooked to order. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 13:Bus stop to the airport just outside. However a taxi from the airport was £23 and the bus for four to the airport was £21. The hotel was quiet and were able to extend our stay in the morning
Review 14:Not far from Nairn and Inverness, friendly staff who made sure we were well settled and also ready for our travels the next day. Hard to find a triple room in other places. Good hearty meals from the kitchen.
Review 15:Hotel entrance.Looked shabby and had old, opened bag of rocksalt on entrance veranda. Lots of dust on skirting board in room
Review 16:Excellent mince and tatties...and meringue ice cream and strawberries. All in bar very friendly including owner and wife
Review 17:Free WiFi would have helpful in rooms. Decor a little dated but really tidy throughout. Exterior could do with a spruce up and some new signs would look good.
Review 18:The location worked really well and it was good to be in a quiet location. Breakfast was tasty, as were the meals in the bar on an evening. Room was cleaned every day and stocked with milk and biscuits.
Review 19:The rooms could do with a refurb - electric showers, not seen one of those in a while!! Bit too much furniture in the room - the desk wasn't needed especially as the room was quite small.
Review 20:The location was fab for the boath house resturant which was the main reason for our trip.
Review 21:We have asked for vegetarian breakfast (without egg, meat), however we were denied a cooked breakfast. There could have been vegetarian cooked breakfast (as available at other hotels).
Review 22:Location was good, nice hotel with comfortable rooms, beds, and shower facilities.
Review 23:The noise from people moving in the corridor, and even from the next room, was very loud. Used towels from the previous occupants were still in the room.
Review 24:The staff were friendly and very helpful. the food was good, and the noise level in the bar was acceptable.
Review 25:Arrived to a very noisy bar area, where a member of staff was asking a customer to get feet of the furniture. Meals only being served in bar---TV on full, bar packed with no-one having a meal, noise overwhelming. Also quite dark. We went out to eat. Quieter on night 2 but we went out anyway. Breakfast a bit limited and pretty greasy
Review 26:facilities in room---disabled room with excellent shower. Owners friendly.
Review 27:The room was very cold when we arrived however the staff soon sorted out the problem.
Review 28:Ideally situated, clean bed/room, a good breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 29:The room was a little dated and was in need of a decoration. The bed was a little uncomfortable and could have been doing with more modern linen, although it was fresh and clean. No toilet roll holder in bathroom.
Review 30:we liked the location and the fact that the character of the building still shone through. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The dinner at night was delicious with a vey varied menu. The breakfast was excellent. Excellent value for money.
Review 31:A few small problems with our room, ie shower head not fixed, basin cracked, toilet seat loose/broken. Otherwise the stay was great, the problems did not affect our stay and we would go back, hopefully no such small problems next time..
Review 32:Very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff, food was excellent.
Review 33:Small dirty room, bed squeaked if you looked at it.Seems as if the owner was not bothered , I was informed he bought the place 18 years ago and had done nothing to it since.Display items in bar area had enough dust on them to prove this.Would never consider booking again.
Review 34:There was a Charge for wifi that had poor reception and is only available near the reception area. Basic and not a place for entertainment. A place for locals not for tourists unless you are looking for a window of local rural life. Hard to find as poorly signposted
Review 35:Absence of hot water (reported to staff at 9pm and fixed just before 11.30pm) and of shower gel/shampoo.
Review 36:Friendly staff and good food. An interesting location.
