Reviews for Greenham Hall

Review 1:The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful in planning further travel through the region. The manor house has the feeling of being in a grand castle which adds to the experience. It is surrounded by lovely gardens followed by sheep paddocks and quiet country lanes. Excellent place to stay to get a rural England experience.

Review 2:Peaceful, beautiful house and lovely garden, well placed for breaking a long journey but utterly unique. A superb, but gentle and civilised welcome. We felt completely at home. Spectacular family room, and exquisite guest lounge. Lovely historic churches, walks and fantastic places to eat nearby.

Review 3:Lack of food in the evening. Its a 20 min walk to the nearest restaurant, which is ok but in my opinion make this hotel more of a 2 night stay rather than a long stay.

Review 4:Homely, welcoming and great location.

Review 5:There was no TV in the room and the wifi did not reach my room,

Review 6:The location of this BB is excellent with big gardens in the country side, very quite location and some great views of the country

Review 7:The old house was very interesting but the incredibly noisy floors and stairs were disappointing. Pity it is all so close to the piggery. There is no village within walking distance.

Review 8:Our hosts were great. They made us feel welcome and were very happy to help with info to help us most the most of our visit. The breakfast was good but somr fresh fruit would have been a welcome option.

Review 9:We felt, due to the owners personal circumstances, we were not particularly welcome. They are not a child / pet friendly couple and for the short period of time we spent there we felt on edge & monitored, not very relaxing for a young family.

Review 10:We loved the grounds & the history of the building

Review 11:WiFi could have been faster and signal boosted

Review 12:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff; Gorgeous building and assorted decorative elements; Rooms were characterful not bland and homogenuous

Review 13:Only criticism is that breakfast could have been a little more interesting.

Review 14:Warm welcome. Absolute peace and quiet Relaxed atmosphere Interesting and quirky accommodation

Review 15:The location of the house is an ideal base to explore the local area, but the private road leading up to the house would put us off from booking a longer holiday. It is very bumpy and uneven, so for us driving up and down the road on a daily basis, even with a robust car, would be difficult. The private road could perhaps do with some TLC and/or tarmac. A few smaller things to note...there were no biscuits in the tin on our tea tray, an old bar of soap was left in shower from previous guest and the carpet was stained in our bedroom....but none of the above made our stay any less pleasant.

Review 16:If you're looking for something a little different, then visit Greenham Hall. We had a lovely stay at the quirky manor house, which was a one night stop over as we drove to Cornwall. The owner Caro is a genuine, kind and welcoming host. We enjoyed a huge pot of tea and biscuits in the gorgeous garden on arrival and had full use of the dining room for the evening. Our double ensuite room was quite small, but clean and quiet, with stunning views over the garden. We loved the original features of the house and had the rare pleasure of a romantic full moon through our window on the night of our stay. Caro was also able to cater to our dietary requirements (vegan) and did all she could to make us feel at home. Thanks for a memorable and relaxed stay!

Review 17:The bedroom doors look the same with no numbers which confused a small child.

Review 18:A warm and friendly welcome awaited us from Caro who made us a pot of tea with biscuits when we arrived. Our room was large and tastefully decorated with an excellent electric shower. The extra large double bed (queen?) was extremely comfortable, one of the best I have slept in. Gardens were delightful, set in beautiful and peaceful countryside. The views from the dining room and our room were idyllic. A choice of biscuits and fruit teas as well as the usual tea and coffee in our room was appreciated. We were advised to bolt our door because as predicted a child tried to get into our room, and was confused even though my husband shouted twice to try next door. Good advice otherwise the child would have seen a naked stranger with morning wood!

Review 19:Caro is a very generous and genuinely thoughtful host. Loved our very comfortable, quiet room overlooking the fields of frolicking lambs. My daughter loved the garden. A lovely property.

Review 20:Nothing.

Review 21:Location, large garden to play football, bounce in a trampoline and swings. The entrance hallway is amazing. Bedrooms fine. Bathroom adequate. A warm welcome from the host with an offer of tea and biscuits on arrival. Breakfast was nice, the only tiniest criticism would be that the full English sausages were very small like long cocktail sausages, in the midlands the sausages are 3 times the size! That aside a great beautiful place.

Review 22:Unusual historic building. Comfortable. A real country house, Excellent service.

Review 48:Smell of pigs

Review 49:The silence. The staff.

Review 50:The warm relaxed atmosphere and wonderful old charm property.

Review 51:nothing really. wouldn't like to drive the lane into the Hall in winter though.

Review 52:peace and quiet the welcome homely feel access to all areas

Review 53:I would have preferred a shower to a bath but that's personal choice. Some rooms I think had showers.

Review 54:Amazing location, very friendly and relaxed. Its more like staying with your Aunt than a hotel, enjoyed the stay

Review 55:Two minor quibbles (don't let them put you off staying here): - take care on access road as it is a bit rutted; - private bathroom for family room is down the hall from the room itself.

Review 56:Three friends, we took all 3 rooms. We had a great stay - from being made a pot of tea with biscuits on arrival, to friendly chat, to great breakfast, and being given the freedom of the lovely garden. Large comfy lounge/dining room with TV and some board games. The views from the bedrooms are stunning. Caro dealt with all our dietary requests without batting an eyelid. Our stay felt like a friendly 1930s house party and we highly recommend Greenham Hall.
